Guest Reviews
- matt (10/5): - Nice spot
- Maria Luisa (4/5): - The beach was full of garbage. Unswimmable as water was dirty and smelled. The bathroom was filthy. Sheets were ripped. Chips in floor tiles cracks in walls. Dont know about other units but ths one needs major renovations and a good cleaning. Only good was view from the beach front patio as long as you ignored the piles of trash on the beach
- hannah (10/5): - Very friendly staff who make you feel welcome and that you’re taken care of. Very quiet and peaceful place. They rent motorbikes right there for 200b. Lots of good food options near by and amazing location on the beautiful beach. Excellent stay.
- Timothy (6/5): - Got this property las minute. The location was right on the beach. Unfortunately the hotels around the are don’t maintain the beach and there was garbage everywhere. I stayed in a bungalow. I got the cheaper one not on the beach. It was very basic but the bathroom smelled of sewage. There isn’t any dining or coffee on the premises which is kinda a bummer. But it was cheap.
- Callum (2/5): - DO NOT STAY HERE!! during the first day of our stay at this property, we went out early in the morning and returned late in the evening! When we came back money had been stolen from our room, the money was left in a wallet, inside a small bag which was inside a rucksack and when we returned the small bag was lying on the floor. After this I went to speak to the staff who told me it was not their issue and when I asked what they were going to do about this they said nothing and quite literally laughed in our face! The next morning we left straight away, they didn’t even apologise! Service was despicable
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very dark around the facilities and not super clean. But okay place to stay with good service. Great location
- Verified traveler (10/5): - tolle Lage, schöne gepflegte Garten, freundliches Personal, Essen direckt in der Anlage Klasse! Strand nicht überlaufen
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Tolle gegen, gepflegte garten, relativ ruhig, freundliches personal
- Jutta (6/5): Mold in the bathroom - There were mold in the bathroom and we asked for another room and the second room had only less mold. Service was good, location was superb and the beach was nice
- Pipadh (6/5): Worth for area - Happy
- Manxkippa (10/5): Chillax on the beach... - Beach hut with aircon and en suite wet room, step out the front door onto the beach, 20 mts to the water...purrfek!
'Bobby' and her staff can't do enough for you including serving your choice of breakfast (inc.) on your own wee terrace...
Small restaurant on site if required as well as a beach bar no more than 70 mts away...
First time we've tried this type of accommodation, good fun if you take it for what it is...
View from the terrace...
- wendyrS3037PA (8/5): Bungalows on the beach - We stayed for 10 days in an airco-bungalow right on the beach at that was great! That bungalow was nice and spacious, with a nice big terras. The curtains were way to thin so when the light was on everybody could look inside but we fixed that with our pareo. There's a watercooker provided. You can order breakfast in your room.
The beach is very nice and there is a nice, little beach bar (no loud music!!) just 20m away. There's a good restaurant on the roadside.
The staff is nice but the owner is businesslike. You get a bottle of water/person every day. There's a laundry-service (40 bath/kilo) and you can rent a motorbike (200 bath/day).
Since the beachbungalow was booked we needed to move. We're assigned to another bungalow on the second row. At first side this bungalow was ok but there was quite a moldy odour. Although the room was clean the roof was covered with mould. There's no watercooker provided. Not a very nice way to end your holiday.
Overall, this is a nice place to stay right on the beach. A pity our last bungalow was not as good as the beachbungalow
- TossedSaladAndEggs (8/5): Lovely beachfront location - Great way to spend a few days. The room looked out onto the beach, bar was sometimes noisy and inconsiderate people sometimes sat on the table a few feet away from our room in the middle of the night chatting away. Bathroom not completely noise proof! Could hear plenty of shenanigans coming from the bathroom in the room next door.
There was no food being served in the restaurant when we visited but there are plenty of cheap options nearby. And the night market in the neighbouring town is good to visit.
Would definitely recommend the beach front rooms. Lovely to sit outside and enjoy the beach.
- 903myrtheb (10/5): Great value - Just a great stay, kind staff. Everything is quite outdated and basic, but the cheap price has to come from something! Right on the beach, but there is also a strange waterflow going in the sea and it smelled a bit strange. It did not bother us though. The breakfast is just great! Bobby can arrange everything for you, but she has a commercial mindset. This was fine with us, especially because we had the greatest cottage right on the beach and we felt like it was good value for our money. We rent a scooter from Bobby, and had no problems. If you can upgrade, I would definately reccomend it! Use the musquito net though, there are a couple holes in the cottage. We booked with Expedia, through Airbnb it is so much more expensive.
- pablostrange (10/5): Lovely - Small bungalows on a nice and well treatened garden next to the beach. You get two bottles of water daily and fresh towels. service is nice. Breakfast till 2 o'clock. I recommend to stay here. There is a bar at the beach where u can buy drinks (and get stoned for 500Baht) and listen to bob marley till late night.
- N5584OYtonyc (8/5): Very good value bungalow - This was a great little value bungalow on Koh Samui. It's located just north of the main strip of Lamai. 15 minute walk south, or a 15 minute walk north to Thongtakien Bay and viewpoints. If you don't want to walk to where the action is, "Bobbie" and staff will help you rent a motorbike, or fill you in on taxis and songthaws. The staff was generally very friendly and helpful. Your basic bungalow, with a mini fridge, in a clean and tidy place. Our space felt cozy, and though the beds weren't super comfy, this is more of a bungalow hotel, not a resort. If you like your privacy and quiet, and are on a budget. This is a great option. The complimentary breakfast in the morning was great, very filling. A couple pics below of sunset, sunrise and daytime from the beach front. WiFi wasn't an issue for me, but my wife had a hard time connecting for some reason. Overall, would recommend, especially if you don't mind doing a little research and exploring of the island on your own.
- Richard (6/5): Basic but lovely - I've scored it low with regards to hotel facilities etc. but we stayed in 3 separate hotels including the most expensive on the island and decided to spend our last few days back here. If your looking for a hotel to cater for your western needs this is not the place. But if you are looking for a really friendly Thai family run business directly on a quiet beach and the best bar on the beach also a small family run business..This is the place. Loved it.
- patsynossiter (10/5): Quiet end of Lamai Beach - This is a great budget priced bungalow hotel with at least 6 of the bungalows right on the beachfront. The staff are friendly but unobtrusive and Samitta who oversees all was absolutely fantastic with no requests being too much trouble. Our beachfront cottage came with a delicious breakfast each morning and right next door is the Freedom Bar and they can make you lunch and dinner and a great cocktail. I would not hesitate to return to Samui Harmony Resort, you don't have to lift a finger or move too far for anything you want.
- Daniel (8/5): Bra - Väldigt bra
- Verified traveler (4/5): Så där - Kunde varit bättre
- Verified traveler (8/5): Place to recover before going back to real life - Nice resort not well known by taxi drivers by its name, so bring the address with you. We were in the first line-beack's bungalows, a really fanstastic side of the Island, pity the sea is not as transparent as expected ; there is no much to do in town, very crowd of uninteresting shops along a quiet bussy route without proper walking area. Breakfast is included in the price of the room but taken in the restorant located at the entry on the noisy route.Very good wifi in rooms, uncommon in most of similar places in Koh Tao where we spent the previous week for diving before a nigh & day in Koh Samui. Private shuttle (instead of collective minibus 150 baht/person) to the airport was organised by the Resort for 700 baht per 3 people; late check out-after 2 pm- was possible for 600 baht/room. We could not find charming places with grilled fish/sea food + white wine on the beach side!
- SheWandersTheEarth (10/5): Simply amazing !!! - We booked for 3 nights and then extended for 2 more nights. We stayed in beach front studio and it was really comfortable and clean. Staff is very good. You get an amazing view from your bed because of the glass door. We paid 1800 thb without breakfast and it was really worth it.
- Yella365Werner (4/5): Bed bugs, stray cats and prostitutes. - Checked into the room and noticed a smell of cat urine. Thought nothing of it as it had been raining and maybe it was smell from the rain. Later that day when lying on the bed a stray cat jumped out from under the bed and onto my partners head! Gave him a heart attack. The door had been closed all day so the cat must have been there before we checked in! A bit gross considering it smelt really bad and you don't expect a cat to be under the bed of a resort. We asked for a room move and thought we'd have better luck there. WRONG! Two words- BED BUGS! I was eaten alive all night and couldn't sleep because I kept being woken up by bites. My legs and back were covered! In the morning we pulled back the blanket to see thousands if tiny critters infested in the sheets. Disgusting. Also - the mattress was hard as a rock ( no exaggeration, we've spent a lot of time in Asia and know the beds are never really that comfy, but this was by far the worst). Over all the rooms are atrocious. Foul things and not worth the money! Ill also mention that we were the only people staying there that wernt old western men with Thai prostitutes. Our room was in the middle of all the others, so we were surrounded by about 5 seedy men siting outside their rooms getting all over their Thai prostitutes. Felt really uncomfortable. I wouldn't stay here again. If you're a man looking for a shack for you and a prostitute then this is your place. The beach here was covered in rubbish all the time and various strange objects would get washed up on the shore. Such a shame as it is a beautiful little beach spot. There are no safes in the rooms which was bad as the place feels very untrustworthy. We ended up putting our own padlock on the door incase. there are lockers in reception to keep valubles but that was just annoying walking into the office everytime you need something, and what happens when the office closed everynight and you had to get something out? Not practical. The only thing we liked was the " freedom bar". Happy hour 4-8 with 89 baht cocktails and other various goods. We had a great night there which kind of made up for the other dodgy aspects of this resort. As for location, not too bad. easy walking distance to central lamai and a short cab to chaweng. Overall , I wouldn't recommend this place at all, and the freedom bar can be accessed by anyone not just resort guests so walk by and check it out but do not book a room at this resort! You will be dissapointed and feasted on by bugs and it will give you a negative view on koh Samui.
- NathalieE3 (4/5): Not pleased - Was sick and without accommodation so me an my bf took the first available room we could find. Got a bungalow, second row from the ocean for 1600 baht per night. Ok situated close to the beach, but The beach was so dirty there was no point in spending time there. Thin walls (could here everything going on outside and in other bungalows, including a French couple doing their.. Thing..) The AC did not work properly, the beds (two twin beds put together) was uncomfortable with dirty covers without sheets. Bathroom filled with ants and holes to welcome insects. Breakfast ok. Left after one night, intended to stay for three.
- L0uise1983 (6/5): Not exactly what we expected - Let's start with the negative. We booked a "seaview cottage" via expedia. We had looked at the reviews and stayed in two other places in the area, so we knew what to expect for our money. When we arrived the room stank of cigarette smoke, despite the information saying it was a non-smoking hotel. The bolts on the door and bathroom door didn't line up, even after they "mended" them. We asked for a mosquito net and were told that if we got bitten, they would sort one out (I did get bitten, for the first time during the holiday). You want to get the net BEFORE being bitten really. The "seaview" was the gap between the front two cottages and mostly blocked by a fenced shower. When we turned the aircon on, the cigarette smell became much worse. We complained and they sprayed some air freshener around (which never helps and the flower smell attracts more bugs in). They did try to fix the door, but it still didn't line up. The shower was good, when it worked. The water all stopped on the second evening, so we couldn't shower. There were no maps or directions available. We went into another hotel to get one. The sound of the sea was pleasant, but mostly drowned out by the sound of the traffic on the main road. The door to the room was temperamental to lock and there were rips and cigarette burns in the sheets.
On the plus side:
We were given a 10% discount on the tour we did. The hotel is close to shops and bars, but not so close that it is disruptive. The beach is beautiful and the sea, like a warm bath. The beds are comfy and breakfast was delicious. The couple who run the place are really nice and friendly.
On the third night (half night as our flight was at 6am) they moved us to a nicer room. It was much, much nicer, but would have also cost twice the price. I know that you get what you pay for, but I've stayed in cheaper rooms in Tokyo and London. Also, I think we were only moved because we were over-heard talking about how horrible the place was. We were talking in our room and could hear someone sweeping the same patch of ground for a good ten minutes. Eavesdropping is a bit rude in my books. But this is the plus side. Despite the smell and appearance of the first room, it was very clean and functional.
- Maisita509 (8/5): Excellent value - Stayed here for 6 nights in a second-row (not beachfront) cottage and am extremely pleased. For the money that you pay, $26, I couldn't ask for more. Although the bed could be more comfortable, and the shower isnt separate (it hangs on the wall next to the sink and splashes the entire bathroom), it is tidy, and the resort itself is being kept very clean. The Wi-Fi goes in and out, but is generally fine. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Although the beach right in front isn't really good for swimming (the sea bottom is rocky so I cut my foot a couple of times), a great beach is a 15 minute walk away. You just walk along the beach a little further down Lamai andthere are a lot of places to swim. Overall, I am very happy with my selection, and rrecommend this place to everyone.
- Lis313 (6/5): Just fine - I am not raving about this place. It was all just fine. The bungalows were fine, the staff was somewhat helpful and fine and the location is fine. We didn't have much time here and we not keen to stay in the resort, so it wasn't bad for us, but if you plan on staying here or by the beach, you can do better int he area. We loved Lamai Beach though. Compared to Chaweng it is less touristy (although that doesn't say much in Thailand) and about 5 minutes from this hotel is a great outdoors food market. Be careful when you are planning boat trips or day activities (car rentals etc.) with tour agencies in the street. Better to ask the management of Samui Harmony to help you out. We got ripped off really badly by an agency across the road from this place.
- StevoMill (10/5): Just Perfect - This place is superb. I have currently had two nights of a four night stay. Have an ocean front bungalow. Very basic, but absolutely perfect, and very reasonably priced. Have moved here from another hotel that was 5 star and this I will take any day. Had read a few reviews re Internet but have not had a problem. If you choose to stay here pay a little extra for ocean front. The waves will put you to sleep.
- Jennifer196 (8/5): Samui Harmony Hotel - Stayed in a bungalow on the beach. Pretty but not too good for swimming at low tide.
Staff incredibly helpful from internet to motorbike rentals.
room comfy but no kettle (Dont people drink early morning coffee)
The breakfast was very good. Definitely good value.
- Blng101 (8/5): Nice little place, friendly staff - These little bungalows are really nice! And the staff are very friendly and helpful. However I made friends with others and found out they all had a small bar fridge and I didn't...not a big deal but would have been nice to have cool water. Although the Internet is absolute rubbish! Drops in and out and you can forget trying to Skype anyone. Overall it is nice and it is cheap and I would stay again.
