• Rob (5/5): Acceptable for a nice quiet sleep for one night before a flight as its 6km from the airport. - Location in a quiet safe area near the airport. It's a room in a private house. I hated to have to disturb them every time i wanted to go out and come in by ringing a doorbell. My mistake. I prefer to stay in a place with a private entrance. Cash only so i had to go to an ATM and pay a lot just to withdraw a little money as i was leaving the country.

• Johan (6/5): Pleasant - Cheap and pretty close to the bus station. Host was helpful when we were hungry and ordered delivery late at night. The hostel is inside a locked gate so it feels extra safe. It was pretty noisy, people coming and going all night long. It also feels like staying at someone's house but not in the best way. Our room was just next to a big living room where the host watched TV pretty loud late at night when we were tired. Good for maybe a night but not more.

But the experience was really good - the lady that let us in was smiley and helpful even though we had a language barrier and it was late! The room was comfortable and had everything we needed.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Ideal for short-term stay - Small family-run hotel in a quiet neighborhood (cul de sac) not too from the airport, in walking distance to an area with plenty of restaurants, bars etc. Ideal for a night of layover in between flights. The room I got was simple but big enough and had a window to the front where there is a park, unfortunately it had rained that afternoon and quite a number of mosquitoes made their way into the room (the window was open for some time in evening, so it's not the hotel's fault). Some of the inside rooms seemed a little small from the outside. WiFi was fast and reception good in most parts of the hotel, owners are very helpful and friendly. Didn't try the included breakfast since I had to leave early. Value for the price is okay,

• Jay (4/5): Dissapointing as far as accesibility. - The hotel was hard to locate although in a decent neighborhood. The cab driver didn't know about the hotel and found very confusing the address and the directions given by people asked about its location. The staff who greeted us were very friendly and helpful. Once we got to our assigned room, we unpacked and rested for awhile. Had some snacks downstairs and came back to the room. As we got ready to hit the sack, we realized the room had no windows or any source of outside light. The mattress in one bed was hard as a rock so the night was less tan pleasant. Not the best experience for an overnight stay.

Pas d'ampoule dans la lampe de chevet, fiche de connexion pour appareils électrique en mauvais état, pas de prise électrique dans salle de bain, et panne de courant dans la chambre le matin au réveil alors que je devais me préparer pour prendre mon taxi à 5 h du matin!!! J'ai dû me débrouiller dans l'obscurité! Impossible de régler l'eau chaude! Rapport qualité prix :O

• AlaskanAdam (8/5): Great place for easy airport access - Staff was really nice and helpful, breakfast was good, and the location safe for visitors to walk around. There is a pretty big shopping mall within 20 minutes walking, and plenty of convenience stores nearby to buy bottled water, etc. Only complaints: the beds were stiff as a board (thus, quite uncomfortable) and there was noise from airplanes and other guests. I would still recommend for a night or two just because it's an easy way to acclimate to the madness that can be Bogota.

• Evandro Machado (2/5): Extremely bad - Extremamente ruim - O quarto é muito pequeno, camas duras, mal cuidado, pe direito muito baixo, muito poucas tomadas (umas 3) e ainda uma delas não funcionava, o taxi levou 20 minutos sendo que eram apenas três quilômetros do aeroporto, a localização e péssima, difícil de encontrar. Apenas o atendimento foi bem razoável pois nos forcaram a pagar dez dólares a mais do que o combinado pelo hotel.com. Não recomento, fiquem longe. ------- The room is very small, the beds are hard and the room is very bad taken care of, the tallness is really low.There are just few jacks (about 3) but only 2 were working, the taxi took about 20 minutes to make 3 km from the airport, the location of the hostel is terrible and really difficult to find. The treatment was reasonable but they enforced us to pay tem dollars more than agreed by hotel.com. I definitely don't recomend, please look for another hotel.
• Verified traveler (2/5): Não recomendo - Chegamos a noite e foi necessário trocar de taxi pois o primeiro não conseguiu achar a casa. O segundo taxista também encontrou dificuldades, mas chegamos depois de alguma procura. Fui me hospedar nessa casa de família pois procurava uma acomodação para pernoitar uma noite apenas e o fato de ser próximo ao aeroporto se mostrava interessante. O senhor que nos atendeu foi atencioso, amável e simpático, ao contrário da senhora e da jovem que continuaram o atendendimento. O pagamento, que seria por cartão de crédito, não foi bem sucedido pois a máquina estava estragada. Aceitavam o pagamento em pesos ou dólares. Ao apresentar uma nota de cem dólares, fui surpreendida com a informação que o troco seria em pesos (o que não era interessante, pois partiria de volta na manhã seguinte). Seria muito importante que a gerência trocasse as roupas de cama por roupas limpas - o que parece não ter ocorrido. As instalações eram precárias, como por e exemplo a porta do quarto para o corredor não trancava, a maçaneta estava estragada e a porta se abria sozinha. Uma última informação relevante: o valor cobrado no site do hoteis.com foi diferente daquele cobrado pela casa. Peguei a nota fiscal e vou pedir meu ressarcimento.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Fine for an airport stop over - Our first night in Colombia was a quick stop over, arriving late and leaving early back to the airport in the morning. The staff were helpful and friendly, they called us a taxi for the morning. The room was clean and not too shabby, however the plug sockets didn't work. The walls were quite thin too. I had read to expect to pay 15,000-20,000 for a taxi but unfortunately even though we had been quoted 15,000, the taxi driver, after driving round the block a couple of times pretending to be lost, demanded 50,000 from us. I stood my ground for while and he only got 40,000 from us but unfortunately gringos fresh from the airport with no Spanish are an easy target, especially late at night so do be aware and ask for the meter to be put on! Aside from that, the staff were lovely which makes up for a lot.

• Daniel (10/5): Lovely home close to Airport - I've traveled all over the world and have stayed in many similar places, however the staff at Casa Posada go out of their way to insure that you enjoy your stay. We arrived around 10pm after our flight was delayed more than three hours, and one of the staff members was waiting on the curb for us knowing that we were on our way in a taxi from the airport. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff members who were more than willing to assist us. Over the next several days they were more than helpful in suggesting places to visit, best way to get there, restaurants, etc. Casa Posada is walking distance to many great bars, restaurants, etc. It is also less than a ten minute walk to major transportation that will take you anywhere you need to go in Bogota. There is also a lovely park just in front of Casa Posada that is great for walking, relaxing, exercising, etc.

• andy b (10/5): Nice, family run little inn - I arrived late from the airport in Bogota, and it took about 10 or 15 minutes to ride in the taxi to the posada. It is on a little street in a residential neighborhood, so good idea to jot down precise directions. The couple that run it are nice and helpful...giving me lots of advice on what to see in Bogota, how to take the mass transit, etc. They seem to have a half dozen rooms for rent, they are clean, and make you feel at home.

Viajei sozinho e fiz duas longas conexões em Bogotá, tanto na ida como na volta. O hotel é simples, é uma casa adaptada para pousada, com poucos quartos, e administrado pela família que mora no local. A localização, apesar de próxima do aeroporto, foi um pouco difícil de ser encontrada pelos taxistas. Os quartos são simples, mas confortáveis. As áreas coletivas são agradáveis e o ambiente é bastante familiar. A cordialidade da família que administra o hotel é excepcional, desde sua recepção até sua despedida. Recomendo o hotel e voltarei a me hospedar novamente em uma próxima oportunidade.

• nea (10/5): close to airport, very helpful staff, great price! - my boyfriend and i spent our first night in Colombia at Casa Posada Amelia. The staff was very friendly and eager to help, and the daughter of the owners (i think) spoke very good English. Nice private room with hot water and tv, but expect to hear dogs barking and planes very close overhead, also rooms are not very soundproofed. only a 10k pesos ride to the airport, which was perfect for us. definitely get the empanadas if there are any prepared that day, the rest of the food was ok. the neighborhood felt safe and quiet with a pretty little park right across the street where people were jogging. We will definitely go back to Casa Posada Amelia!
