Guest Reviews
- Smith (4/5): -
- MAYA (6/5): pleasent - easy access & close to the conference venue
convenient location to airport, beaches and other restaurants
- Andrei (6/5): - Расположение. Насекомые в номере
- Emma (7/5): -
- Castellanos (2/5): Very poor - The place smells damp, it's very old and there's never any dirt. The photos have nothing to do with the place.
- robert (2/5): - I was unable to stay because
the advert said it was 900 M from the Jimbaran beach .whereas the actual building was miles away on major road
- Romain (9/5): Superb - Very nice property with nice rooms and a pool on the rooftop !
- Jackie (8/5): Very good - Friendly staff and service
- Jackie (7/5): Good -
- James (7/5): Good -
- Anna (1/5): Don’t anyone dare to book this hotel please. - Nothing. More than nothing. It’s officially the worst hotel in the world. Not to mention the hotel with the worst service in Bali. I paid for upgraded room with a balcony. But they checked me in the standard room much smaller with no balcony. When I approached them with a request to change the room, they were insisting that upgraded rooms are all booked. I insisted and they magically found an upgraded room within 5 minutes. The reception guys led me to the room and decided to turn on the air conditioner, but they walked in the room with their shoes on. And the air conditioner was out of service producing the warm air. Each and every detail in the room was either broken or extremely dirty. The balcony door was broken. The condition of bathroom is beyond any worst expectations. The toilet is never cleaned, I scratched thick layers or dirt and something fatty on the surface. All was covered with mold. And completely worn out. The towels were not only grey from long usage - they were literally dirty. I live in Bali for almost a year and I never faced such unsanitary conditions even in the cheapest guest houses. Nirmala didn’t provide bare minimum hygienic standards and respect to customers.
Absolutely disgusting.
- jaime (2/5): - I went to check in and the hotel cancelled my room and did not refund my money. I ended in another hotel paying last minute price. I had to call hotel.com for 1 hour to get the refund. It is ridiculous the lack of professionalism these days
- Danielpn (2/5): Very poor - my room's AC was dead and no other room available. they shoulda check first before accepting booking.
- Lihuimei (8/5): Very good -
- Angeliqa (7/5): Good -
- LeTimmers (2/5): Nothing As Advertised - This hotel is a complete nightmare. Not a single thing is as advertised, and they will refuse to refund you when you show up and are disgusted by what you see. Every single thing that follows is listed as available online, and not a single one was: no laundry service, the spa is closed, the wifi does not work, there are no showers in the bathrooms, the AC does not work in the rooms, the restaurant, bar, and cafe are all closed, there are no safety deposit boxes, and the airport shuttle does not exist.
The pictures are not at all accurate. The pool is literally green and full of algae. Everything is closed. Avoid at all costs. This is the worst hotel I have ever been to. We checked in, looked at our rooms, requested a refund, and left within the hour. This business lies to its customers and refuses to refund our stay.
- Zheng (4/5): A pretty rundown and not well maintained old hotel - Hotel is quite run-down
- Dnyanesh (7/5): Good budget hotel for the cost conscious - Good budget hotel nearby all convienences It's old hotel with minimal occupancy so facilities are not updated
- Osullivan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Timothy (1/5): Indonesias most disgusting hotel. - Nothing, it was the most disgusting hotel I have ever seen. Smoky rooms, mould, zero cleaning. Filthy stained beds, if I don't come home with bed bugs I will be relieved. Do not stay here.
- Candice (7/5): Good -
- Ahmed (8/5): Very good -
- Stuart (2/5): Very poor -
- Robin (5/5): Passable - Swinming pool was good Cold water and very dirty bathroom
Bedsheets were also very dirty
- Dodgy-Davey (4/5): Needs refurbishing ....bad - I stayed at this place several times 10+ years ago and it was a much different experience
I'm not what happened over the years but this place needs an overhaul in terms of fixtures and infrastructure
You get the first warning sign when you walk through the reception and there no air conditioning or main lights on, the lift is out of order and the attached restaurant is closed indefinitely.
Moving on, in our room we had :
TV that didn't work
Air-con that wasn't cold enough
No hot water
Shower stall broken
Cockroachs in bathroom
It's a shame as the staff are nice but it feels like it need to be closed until they can fix everything
- Shivaraj (1/5): Bad - Nothing Rooms were stinking
No wifi in the room
- Sabrina (5/5): Wouldn't recommend - Helpful staff, big spacious room Pee on the toilet seat, quite old fashioned, no wifi in the room
- Nogarddragonkin (7/5): Good -
- Lynne (8/5): Very good -
- 175neilg (8/5): Very nice large rooms - I had stayed here before a few years ago, very central large rooms and great swimming pool on the roof, quiet because of the Virus, very friendly staff, will be back again soon with the current low prices and close to where I need to be..
- Stamp_Jo (6/5): Not a very pleasant - We stayed for w nights, not bad location, hotel building looks old and dilapidated, lack of lighting inside the hallway, almost feel like a haunted place. The room is spacious for 3 adults, bathroom need a major renovation and air conditioning too.
Breakfast is good if you choose the Nirmala breakfast which is Indonesian dish, good portion as well.
Overall, for the price we pay I should have no complaint.
- Devarez (4/5): Bad and old hotel - I stayed only 1 night.
It was bad and
dirty hotel.
Old facility and worst breakfast menu.
The list was small and only for 4 people max for capacity.
Not recomended at all.
Very disguisting toilet and room seem not clean up regularly.
- yanixd2018 (6/5): Need more maintenance! - Actualy I stayed at Nirmala Hotel Jimbaran on September 2017 with my daughter. The room was spacious but look tired and not well maintain.
The good thing, we enjoyed sunset on their roof top pool. Breakfast was good, with big portion of food.
Overal it's still ok for what we've paid..
- NS (2/5): - First thing, this hotel is in located in the middle of nowhere. The only reason I picked it was because it was one of the few available hotels along a main road stretch leading to the GWK Park where a festival was being held. Although rooms are spacious, condition of the rooms were really bad. The bed had mites, the pillows were badly stained and the bathroom was horrible - mould and grime everywhere! The wooden door frame was rotting and the tiles looked prehistoric. Also, there’s absolutely NO WIFI in the rooms (only within the lobby area). Floor felt as if it had not been mopped or swept in a while. TV reception bad. The power of the whole building kept tripping too. No bike rentals nearby. Stayed here out of no choice really, and moved out to a different hotel after one night.
- 34edital (4/5): Bad hotel - Unfortunately the studying was awful. Everything: tv, furniture, lining, shower, towels is very old, unwashable. We had lizard and ant inside. Balcony is connected with other balconies and didn't locked. Tv shows snow, like in 1990's. Conditioner is working loudly and wake up at night. Receptionists talk in English badly and they cannot give (borrow) you knife for fruits in the room.
The top roof pool is still nice, but the pool bar is not working.
- semarab2017 (6/5): such a waste - the hotel is actually have a lots of potential to be good, but unfortunately it was not managed well.
- the room is not really clean, some of the lamp was not working then we need to change the room 2 times considering i am traveling with my 1 yo child. i got upgraded to their Bungalow but still the phone is not working, the bed sound when we move, the room is dusty and seems not maintain properly. the view is good but its all a waste considering the way they treat the hotel.
the good things i experience :
- the staff is super nice, especially the engineering Mr. Wayan Suwindra
- the food is good, i mean very good.
- the breakfast is nice
overall, i do hope the management managed the property better.
- Herbert (6/5): Great prices - Ok...great price is the answer...
- 140agungs (6/5): Feels like the hotel is abandoned - first of all, the staff is actually nice and helpful. however, the hotel itself have the potential to be good. unfortunately they are not managed well i think. i booked 1 night and found some lights in my room is not working. considering i was traveling with my baby then they change the room but still the same issues happened and ultimately they upgraded me to their Bungalow. the room is nice, but still the phone is not working, the bed is too noisy. but to be honest the food is great.
- Sophie (8/5): Lovely hotel, bit far away from beach - Lovely hotel, staff were so helpful and kind. Very clean and comfortable, would stay again. Location is not the best so be prepared to use taxis to get around but the comfort of our room madr up for it.
- Sheep_green (2/5): Couldn't even bring ourselves to stay one night. - We booked Nirmala hotel through booking.com. We are travelling around Bali on our honeymoon and wanted to spend 2 nights here. The photos online looked basic but fine. However, when we arrived we realised the hotel did not resemble the photos at all. The hotel was dark and dingy. The room we were given was damp, with old damp having been painted over. The bathroom was filthy with a leaking toilet, rusty shower and someone else's used soap in the bath. The view was of a dying garden and the buildings a bit on the crumbly side. The lights didn't fully work in the room. It is in desperate need of a good clean and a thorough renovation. We didn't even spend an hour in the room and went to book somewhere else. The staff, in particular the girl on reception, was, however lovely. She tried to offer us a new room but from what we had seen all rooms were pretty similar. She seemed genuinely concerned that we were leaving and was very helpful, making sure we had a taxi. It's a shame the hotel did not reflect the girl on reception.
- SandySubekti (6/5): Not so bad!!! - I come to Nirmala Hotel Jimbaran for meeting activity with colleagues on ballroom. My review about this hotel related service and hotel conditions. Staff members are really nice and communicative to participants, they're giving a clear information about meeting room location so helpful. Area hotel conditions were place need to be more concern about cleanliness.
- adelley2017 (4/5): Would not stay again - Our room was dark and creepy. No soap in the bathroom and AC does not work. No wifi in the rooms. We booked this place to nap in before a very late flight back home. The hotel's pictures of the room and pool make it look way nicer than it actually is. Go someplace else. Not safe for children as there are no guard rails on the roof top and people could easily fall off.
- 456tomasm (2/5): Used my personal items when cleaning my room. - I found my hair brush filled with long black hairs, i have blonde hair thats half the length. Absolutley discusting and an invasion of privacy. Who knows what else they have used of mine. Dont trust this hotel nor would i trust the Nirmala franchise.
- O4267OZdavidec (10/5): Lovely staff - I had my stop over in Bali for 1 night.
Soon I arrived I had a nice welcome.
They upgraded me in a suit St 4th floor where the pool is: nice view!
The staff has been really nice and help me with everything.
I had a couple of good meal on the cafe/restaurant on the ground floor.
Nice experience
- art_rsp2017 (8/5): Good and clean - Great place, the pool on the roof is awesome to chill after long day. In the middle of busy city but nice and calm in the room. Rooms are clean, stuff is very helpfull, bedsheets changed every day, balcony is to the yard side.
- Yuman900 (6/5): If you don't care about the dirty, smelly air, stinky drainage, and various inconvenience, with the good money value, yo - Something good:
*Room: OK with the clean and comfortable bed, size, air conditioner
*Location: OK with the mini mall and restaurants nearby
*Good price
*Staff: Ok with their smile and some of them are really helpful
Something bad:
*The transport car is dirty and smells bad.
*They have the telephone in the room, but it is disconnected.
I asked other guests, they said it was the same in their room.
*terrible air, a gas station across from, burning smell all the time and the exhaust from vehicles, I found it difficult to stay outside because you would keep smelling the exhaust.
* Very used toilet, it looked so awful.
* NOT ok with the drainage system, it stinks when you are taking a shower
*Staff with limited English, some of them even don’t understand basic English like salt, map…
Conclusion : If you don't care about the dirty, smelly air, stinky drainage, and various inconvenience, with the good money value, you can stay here.
- Alf_Wicaksono (6/5): Not bad, and the price is reasonable.. - I stayed here for one day with my colleagues, we choose this hotel because it's not far from a place that we should visited.
The service was nice, the receptionist was very warm and helpful.
The hotel it self feels old, well, it's been there for more than 10 years.. So in my opinion the whole interior setting is very old school. The room is very spacey, clean, has its own balcony, which is also spacey.. The bed is big enough and it's quite comfortable, however, the AC remote is not working properly, and the phone is not working at all..
The bath room uses a bath tub, the hot water works just fine, but the toilet flush seems like working too slow.. The toilet ceiling almost fall down you can see a huge crack in it.
they have a small pool in the roof top seems nice, but i didn't have the chance to use that facility. The elevator looks very old, very small and shabby, it says the max capacity is 6 person or 450 kg, but in fact it only can hold up to 3 person, whenever a fourth person came, it always says over load. The price is quite reasonable, anyhow, i would recomend you to book via internet, so you would have a much better deal.
Overall i think the hotel is nice, but if they renovate it, it would be great.
- tombR8014EU (8/5): Great value for money! - I stayed 2 nights at the Nirmala Hotel in Jimbaran, one night with 3 friends and one solo. Both nights were cheap and comfortable. The first my friends and I booked online a couple of days prior to arrival and thought it was almost too good to be true. We spent the equivalent of around £40 for four people (2 rooms) for a night, including breakfast and thought the hotel would not live up to the pictures featured on trip advisor. We were pleasantly surprised. I then spent a similar price for a additional night.
The rooms, even though basic were clean, well laid out and had everything us young travelers required at the end of our trip. Especially after weeks of sleeping on rickety bunk beds!
Staff were friendly and breakfast was also surprisingly good with the low price in mind. In fact i'd highly recommend taking full advantage of the onsite restaurant/ coffee shop. It's cheap, convenient and the food was tasty (especially the seafood nasi goering).
Location is the only thing that lets this hotel down. To go to surrounding areas and beaches a taxi is required, which can be pricey. There was also a lot of construction and open sewers in the surrounding area. It's v.close to Denpasar airport though, which made it easy for us all to get our flights on time on our final weekend in beautiful Bali.
- Bert (6/5): Friendly hotel - Very friendly staff. Price versus Quality very good. About 20 minutes walk to beach, however shuttle bus available twice a day .
- mahargaranis (8/5): Nice budget hotel - The staffs were friendly, the breakfast was nice (I chose continental breakfast and got a bowl full of fruits with yoghurt, which I like!), the room was spacious, the air con was working perfectly. Unfortunately, the wifi was not working in the room, the rooftop swimming pool was only until 7pm (I mean, when in Bali of course I want to spend day time on the beach, and relaxing after in the hotel, usually evening), and the corridor was not bright, it was a little spooky, and a little additional that could be very useful was hair dryer. Overall, it was a nice experience. I spent two nights there.
- 526venys (8/5): convenient and nice - The rooms are quite spacious and clean. there's a pool on rooftop. it's not that big, but nice. Overall the hotel is ok. And as an added value for me, there is a convenient store located beside the hotel. the name is also Nirmala, so I think it's own by the same owner/ company.
- nycladybug (6/5): - Ok location and ok rooms. This is a budget hotel so don't expect all the frills. Breakfast is not included and the wifi only worked in the lobby, not the guest rooms which was a bit annoying since I needed to get work done.
- Verified traveler (8/5): average - upon booking it said breakfast was included in the price and front desk said that wasn't the case. Luckily enough we had a screen shot off my phone from the booking that said it and they granted it with no problem. the rooms are spacious but the bathrooms looked nothing like on the website and the tubs and shower curtains were disgusting. I guess you get what you pay for. there is lots of food spots within walking distance and there is a nice big store underneath for any of your needs.
- Kamran (10/5): Excellent overall stay , near beach and airport - When I reached , I was instantly escorted to my Suite . However the hot water wasn't working very well and also the Air Con. When i called in for service , my room service arrived immediately and checked the faults . After an hour time the Air Con was fixed , it couldn't have been any faster. The hot water indeed takes time and I was pretty much convinced by the logic why the hot water took so long. They empathized on the issue and kept doing checks if everything was OK. Excellent service. The Cafe was also nice with tasty food, a little expensive but all worth it . But please be advised, they have a very very limited menu.
All in all, I'm definitely going there again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Enjoyable stay - Stayed for two nights in June and was very happy with our experience. Rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. The pool was very much enjoyed as well. Breakfast is lacking and when I requested hot water for tea in my room (they provide mugs and tea/coffee but no kettle) I had to walk down to reception to get it myself. It wasn't a problem, it just shows service is lacking a bit. Staff were friendly and its conveniently located beside a supermarket. Bike rentals in the area (the hotel will not assist with setting up any bike rentals so you have to walk to the nearest place or take a taxi) and a good starting point to explore from. We stayed here and explored Uluwatu and Binang beach by bike.
- Laurence (8/5): Recommended! - The hotel staff at nirmala are very helpful.
They fixed issues at the start of our stay within 30 minutes (cable tv wasn't working, and there was no kettle in the room). The room was very big, with hot water and airconditioning. Water pressure is good in the shower.
Cable TV offered a basic package, which was enough to entertain late at night and in mornings.
The café downstairs for breakfast had decent food, I'd recommend the Nasi Goreng. The coffee wasn't the best but it was better than most places in the Kuta area.
There is absolutely no hassle from the locals, at least during our stay. The only hassle we received in the area was from taxi drivers. There is a supermarket on the lobby floor next door, with very cheap groceries which is very convenient if you are on a budget.
Within 200 metres you had 2 convenience stores and there is a mcdonalds nearby (about 500 metres).
20 minute trip to Kuta with traffic.
20 minute walk to Jimbaran Bay beach, where there are loads of beachfront cafes of which you can sit on the beach. Reasonable prices!
If I ever visit Bali again, I will definitely come back to this hotel.
- leanne (8/5): -
should have dark curtains so you can sleep better
- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointing - Disappointing stay. When I arrived the sheets on my bed were filthy. They were changed fairly quickly once I let housekeeping know. The drains in my bathroom really stank every time I ran any water. The hot water takes around 10 minutes to warm up. The pool did not look clean & I saw a rat jump in the water and swim to the other side before getting out.
It is a good 20 minute walk into Jimbaran but there are several nice local places to eat along the way which are a fraction of the price of restaurants in Jimbaran itself.
I would only recommend this hotel if you are looking for somewhere to stay that is close to the airport.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointing stay - When I arrived the sheets on my bed were filthy with stains all over them. They were changed quite quickly when I spoke to reception. I think they only change the bottom sheet and don't bother with the duvet cover.
The swimming pool looked lovely but really wasn't very clean. I watched a rat jump in and swim to the opposite side of the pool and then get out.
It's a good 20 minute walk into Jimbaran to the beach & shops etc. There is very little near the hotel. It is fairly close to the airport though which is why I chose to stay here. I wouldn't recommend this hotel as a base for visiting the area. It's too far away from everything.
- Clara (4/5): good for budget traveller - We stayed 2 nights. Bed was comfy and room was o.k. Bathroom wasn't clean and had a awful smell. A bit like a public toilet. [bad one] Also there was a panel missing in the bathroom ceiling. All the channels on the tv had bad reception. Breakfast was awful and I couldn't eat it. Staff were helpful and pleasant. You get what you pay for I guess!
- Simon (8/5): - Value: Fair price, Budget room budget price; Service: Professional, Very polite; Cleanliness: Poor, Bathroom smelled BAD;
- Adrian (10/5): Fantastic Service - Welcome by friendly staff. had a great time with my Fiance. Only bad thing was the food was served cold even tho we were in the restaurant. on many occasions asked if they could make Hotter "panas" ended up getting food from kuta.
- Wanda (4/5): Dark hotel on noisy road. - We stayed only one night...luckily that was all we had booked. We took breakfast at 8am by which time there was very little left. It was very disorganised. Some of the staff were barely polite. The road and the AC were noisy which made for a bad nights' sleep.
- Robbie (8/5): Good - Our stay at the nirmala hotel was very enjoying n relaxing, the only two things I found wrong was the hot water system was not working well n the meals was not the best, but they are just little things that can be fixed. My partner n I would stay at the Nirmala when we holiday in Bali again this year. Your staff are all very friendly n helpful they made us feel welcome.
- Paul (8/5): Good for what you pay - Not a 5 star hotel to stay the hole day, but excellent for the price! Can recommend, especially as clean.
