- Deborah (10/5): Perfection all round :) - The room was outstanding, it had everything we needed plus more, the bed was ultra comfy, pillows fantastic for a great sleep, room dark when necessary. TV worked well, bathroom shower was hot with good pressure. Plenty of storage and seating area and space for luggage. And although our room was right next to the pool the outside noise was minimal and we did not feel disturbed at all. We had a room with a plunge pool and only used it once so I wouldn't bother with that again. Be aware when booking plunge pool rooms there are two types, one has only a very shallow 1/2mtr deep pool and other is only 1 meter deep so good for getting wet but also is viewable by other rooms. There is a shade awning to move down (electric) so you do get privacy, but that traps in heat we found. The breakfast buffet was massive with every choice to suit the fussiest of all appetite's. The foyer restaurant had great cocktails and excellent food and several nights they had show performances on for entertainment and you did not need to sit and eat or order food to partake in shows which was a bonus. Staff of course like through all of Bali are very helpful, always cheerful, polite and friendly and any request was responded to well. I can certainly see why this hotel rates highly and will definitely stay again. Nothing - It was ALL Good - Only one point to make was that the front restaurant and show area could do with having a few glass walls installed and LOTs more portable Air Cond units as it was quite hot when eating and the poor dancers were sweating. I might have gotten up to dance if it was cooler and I certainly have more appetite to order and eat food when I am not too hot. So company would actually have more people in restaurant in evening an make more profit by installing some more effective cooling element in foyer meal space.

- Shane (7/5): Amazing hotel, with all the amenities that you need, just need to fix the noise issue!! - The property is in such a good location, it had everything you need with in walking distance. The markets, the easy access to necessities makes the stay at the property even better. We were upgraded which was a very lovely gesture, but in turn the rooms that we ended up with were very loud as they were positioned on the 4th floor right next to that main road. During the day the noise was at a minimal but in the evening the noise from the motor bikes and traffic was out of this world. It made it very hard to sleep at times, even at times having to put noise cancelling headphones on just to try and drown some of the sound out.

The pool was a little cooler than I like possibly because it doesn’t get full sun on it, but it was great having our own little pool if they main pool was busy. The location of the hotel was perfect and the staff were amazing, they were very friendly and helpful. The security guys out the front were very friendly and attentive, we were across the road and a bike came up to us and was trying to sell us something we said no, he kept hassling us and said no again, at that point I saw the magani security guard was heading straight over to us to help but the guy sped off, I wish I got his name to give him a special mention. The free drag show they had one night at the restaurant was lots of fun. We would stay here again when we return.

It really feels like a remedy for the soul. - I stayed at The Magani Hotel and Spa at the end of March 2026 in a Twin Deluxe Room overlooking the pool, returning as a customer because I was so amazed by the level of service, attention to detail, and the beautiful facilities. Every email and question I had was answered promptly. A day before departure, Ayu, the General Manager of Operations, messaged me via WhatsApp to help connect us with our airport transfer and also let me know they had a birthday surprise ready for Dwayne when we arrived. She also offered assistance with anything else we needed before arrival, which was such a thoughtful touch. Finding our driver was easy, and upon check-in we received a warm welcome, along with a much-needed fragrant cold towel and a welcome drink (kiwi). We were welcomed into a refreshing, cool room, with a birthday cake waiting for Dwayne from the hotel. I can honestly say that collapsing into the cloud-like beds gives you the perfect night’s sleep you need after the tribulations of flying and airport chaos. I also noticed the power board in the room, which had multiple international plug options and four USB ports—so there’s no need to bring a converter or power bank; they have already thought of everything. At 6am, the hotel begins to come alive and the aroma of breakfast fills the air. There are all the Australian favourites, Indonesian favourites, and a large variety of juice blends, chocolate milk, and an eggs-your-way station. Tea and coffee orders are taken as soon as you arrive and brought to your table promptly. The staff know many of their Aussie guests need that first sip of coffee straight away—and trust me, you don’t wait. You can sit overlooking the street, watching the morning offerings, prayers, and the island waking up, which is such a peaceful experience. We booked into Visala Spa and added our complimentary 15 minutes onto our 1 hour and 30 minute massage. It began with being welcomed with an information sheet to communicate where you were feeling sore or needing relief, followed by a welcome drink, a fragrant cold towel, and a choice of four different oils. It’s the best way to start your holiday. They also have a cold plunge spa with jets and a sauna, complimentary for guests at any time—just call ahead to have the sauna heated or add it to your spa service. I also booked in to see the healer, tarot reader, and palm reader for a 45-minute session, and I walked away feeling much clearer about my journey and future. Tovan and the translator were gentle, kind-spirited, and I highly recommend Tovan at Visala for anyone looking for insight. Each day we walked to the beach—it’s so close to all the great shops. The security staff were amazing, always helping us flag down Grab drivers and asking how our day was when we returned, with genuine interest in what we had been up to. It felt like having a brother looking out for your wellbeing. The pool bar vibe changes throughout the day—from a chill, relaxing morning swim atmosphere to a more upbeat, beach club-style vibe in the afternoon. The playlist shifts, cocktails start flowing, and guests begin connecting over their love for Bali. The restaurant menu has a bit of everything, and every meal we had for lunch and dinner was 10/10. Add in a live band or a drag queen show, which I highly recommend to both hotel guests and visitors, and the vibe becomes infectious—you’ll be on your feet by the end of the night. The drag queens absolutely shine—each with their own theme, song, and personality, guaranteed to make you laugh. The 2-for-1 cocktails ensure you always have a drink in hand, with a free drink card with each order, making it around $6 AUD per cocktail from a list that suits everyone’s taste. Why not have that fourth and enjoy a dance? Even while video calling a friend back in Australia, the restaurant staff became my cameraman and offered to hold my phone to capture the electric atmosphere—something I’ll never forget. All of the reception staff—especially the lovely ladies—always said hello, even from afar, with a kind wave. I forgot all the staff names, but honestly, I think it’s best to call them “The Angels of The Magani,” guiding you through your stay in what feels like a heavenly place. You truly feel welcome and at home here. On our last evening, we upgraded to a Spa Deluxe Suite. The room was more than double the size, and the spa bath on the balcony helped us relax and prepare for our return to Australia, giving us one final solid night’s sleep. We are already planning our next return in December and will be booking a longer stay back at The Magani. This hotel truly embodies the meaning of “Magani”—a place of comfort, healing, and joy. Overall, this is a fabulous hotel with exceptional staff who go above and beyond. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable stay.
- Cherie (5/5): I love the area the staff the food and bed, just had so many things happen that took forever to get sorted out - I loved the staff, the bed and pillows My plunge pool leaked for days and wasn’t fixed, had a rat in there and a used condom thrown down, internet was so hit and miss
- Kylie (8/5): - The location was great, close to Garlic Lane, shopping, beach and restaurants. The day spa and staff was beautiful. A good vibe around the pool with attentive staff. The staff were very accommodating, friendly and attentive. Upon arrival we were upgraded to a suite as a twin room wasn't available in the deluxe room we had booked. Nothing was too much trouble. While grateful for the upgrade to the suite, it was on the main road side of the hotel which was extremely noisy during the evening/night when sleeping. I imagine this noise would be difficult for the hotel to minimise/manage (maybe a double glazed window/sliding door?) so not a criticism of the hotel, it's the situation of the location.
- Leticia (10/5): Wonderful stay - Great location, room was spacious and clean. The buffet breakfast had a wide selection each day, and the barista coffee was so good. The pool was great - never felt crowded. Would highly recommend. We stayed in a room alongside a street and you could hear the street noise at times. We didn't mind it at all but perhaps request the other side of the hotel if you're wanting something quieter.

- Laura (7/5): - Great location in terms of being close to everything. Bars, restaurants, spas, garlic lane, short walk to beach. Beds and pillows very comfy. Great vibe around pool. Friendly staff. 2 roosters and a barking dog in the yard next door which all started at 5am. Very loud. Every room on that side of the building would have heard it. It was really disappointing and for that reason i probably wouldn't recommend the hotel.

- Gail (7/5): Great location, more costly for meals and drinks than previous stays. Staff are wonderful. - Breakfast was adequate. I think there could be a bigger range, but it was satisfactory. Each time I've stayed at the Magani, the smell of urine in the bathroom was quite bad. I think the drains need tending to.

- Marilyn (9/5): Magnificent Magani - Happy, friendly staff, the choices at breakfast & great location. Entertainment was good but was a shame it finished so early Pool music started before 9am so was abit loud for those who like to sleep in. Might not be so loud when staying on the other levels.

Rooms are spacious and beds super comfortable. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Great pool. No dislikes
