Guest Reviews
- Yi Herr (10/5): - The suite and the facilities inside is fantastic.
- Fiona (8/5): Nice, clean but only suitable for a couple of nights and be prepared to find your own place for breakfast. - Very close to all the shopping centres and great pubs/restaurants.
Possibly the biggest room size I have ever stayed in. The bed mattress was like sleeping on a plank of wood.
The noise from the upstairs room was very loud - even the guests just walking across their room was extremely noisy.
Despite their information saying breakfast was available, it was not and had not been since 2020 during the height of the COVID lockdown.
Unfortunately the blinds had to be kept closed the entire stay as other guests walking past the room could see very clearly inside.
- Pam (10/5): Awesome! - I didn’t have breakfast - the staff were amazing when I had a major health issue that required them to use there first aid skills and also call an ambulance - nothing to do with there hotel.
Later they also brought my everyday bag to the hospital and stored my luggage at their hotel fr me. I loved everything ….,,perhaps the steps and hill but not much they could do about either of those
- Peter (9/5): -
- Simone (10/5): - The hotel was in a great central location. Room and general facilities were everything I needed. Really appreciate the staff at reception who were able to move my room to the ground floor for of my ankle injury and met me in the carpark to help me with my bags. Amazing service!
- Claire (10/5): Would recommend! - Lovely place, very clean and comfortable. Private parking was a plus. Great location and a short stroll to everything. Very helpful host!
- Therese (9/5): -
- James (10/5): -
- Suzanne (10/5): A lovely stay close to a very pretty town. We didn’t want to leave! - So much thought had been given to little unexpected extras in the room. As well as the usual tea and coffee facilities there were bottles of water and a bowl of mints. The air conditioner was on so the room was warm and there were electric blankets on the bed. Perfect accommodation close to everything! Everything exceeded my expectations
- Brody (10/5): -
- STEWART (8/5): - Excellent location, within walking distance of all attractions and amenities.
Plenty of parking space.
- Tony (9/5): -
- Cherry (10/5): - Location
- Renato (10/5): -
- Lisa (10/5): - I was able to checkin at 12pm as I had a private function to attend. They were very accommodating, and let me know on the day that my room was available at the requested time. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
- Jodie (9/5): -
- Kerry (9/5): - Great little stay at The Hideaway on George for a stopover on way to East Coast. Comfortable with everything we needed for an overnight stay. Good location to walk to restaurants and shops nearby. Would highly recommend!

- Stephen (10/5): Perfect place to stay in the CBD - Excellent central location, close to restaurants and located off the street. Room was very clean and comfortable, plenty of space and lots of storage. Nice view from the balcony.
- Erin (9/5): -
- Colin Kirk (9/5): All good, we'll be back very soon ... - Great staff, great room, great location
- Bif59 (8/5): Very happy with stay - Clean, great staff, great location, parking, fairly private Could hear the town clock chiming all night.
Beds a little too firm
- Ryan (9/5): -
- Brandon (8/5): - Great location A coffee maker would make a big difference. It's a really nice room and generally well decorated but waking up and having cheap instant coffee was disappointing
- Mackenzie (5/5): - It's convenient to walk to everything within the City center. It's not quiet. There is a carpark at the back of the townhouse and permanent neighbors next door. The church bell was annoying and I wondered why they provided earplugs and quickly realized why. I wakes you up.
- Lorraine (9/5): Clean and comfortable and close to the city. - Comfortable bed, electric blanket. No bench space in the bathroom.
- Jasmina (9/5): -
- Caitlin (6/5): Ok stay. Good location and nice staff - Small, easy place to stay Bathroom had clump of hair left in the shower from the previous person
- Davies (10/5): - The cleanliness and nice touches.Lyn liked the make-up remover pads and cleansing liquid. Parking! At almost 80, we should have requested ground floor but frankly we managed without fuss the few carpeted stairs.
- Susan (8/5): Central location with everything we needed - Central location with everything we needed Treads on stairs - harsh if in bare feet or socks
- RogerG (8/5): A great overnight stay for Launceston visits at a reasonable price. We'll be back! - Friendly staff; large comfortable bedroom; comfortable bed and pillows; adequate parking. Great location within easy walking distance of cafes, restaurants and shops. Keyless and cardless access to rooms was innovative. Water pressure in the bathroom was particularly high and therefore toilet tank refilling was particularly noisy. No in-house dining, but restaurants and cafes literally on the doorstep.
- Leonie (8/5): Cetera. Location, good parking, friendly staff.,very comfortable beds - Easy parking, good comfortable clean beds
- John (9/5): - Very cosy clean facility enjoyable stay Did not like climbing the hill to get there and back
- Cassie (10/5): So good - Amazing location, good facilities
- Lydia (8/5): - Perfect location!
- Janneke (9/5): Lovely suite no. 11 - Lovely suite no. 11. I especially loved the spacious walkin closet. Big enough to redo and stall your luggage. Location is good, walking distance from restaurants and shops. It was totally quiet (but there was no one below us, that might have helped) Nothing really
- Hu (10/5): -
- Bushy (6/5): - Very Clean Great location very nice place The noise from upstairs units cannot sleep can hear people's conversations and hear their footsteps very loud
Need to soundproof
- William (8/5): Comfortable stay in a quiet location close to city centre - Great location within walking distance of Launceston city centre.
- KIM (8/5): Very enjoyable. - Room, location, staff and parking very good.
- geoff (8/5): Fantastic place to stay if you want to be close to the center of town. - The location was great, just a short walk to the center of Launceston, off street parking included. The room was very spacious and clean. The bed was a little firm for us, but still had a good night's sleep.
- Jacqueline (10/5): Definitely a hideaway - Location and quiet staff were great deal with No complaints
- Glenn (9/5): -
- Michael (10/5): - Very comfortable and great handy location
- Wilson (10/5): We will be back. - Easy access, comfortable bed, wonderful shower and more. N/a
- Gemma (8/5): -

- Peter (8/5): -
- Ketti (10/5): Clean and cozy, great value for money and friendly staff - Clean and cozy
- Anindita (10/5): Had a wonderful stay at Hideaway on George. - Property is well maintained and centrally located.
- Joyce (10/5): I has a great stay and would definitely stay again. - Fabulous location. Free parking. Short walk to a great selection of really good restaurants and cafes.
- John (9/5): -
- Rachel (9/5): - All facilities were clean and inviting. Staff were welcoming and helpful especially as we were staying over the public holidays. It was quiet and relaxing spot but walking distance to everything. Nothing
- Ryan (7/5): Large apartment in a great location, but has room for improvement - Good location, large room, comfortable couches and bed, beautiful new bathroom A few things weren't great: We could hear people upstairs/next door quite loudly. Even heard them flicking light switches and flushing the toilet..
The TV is tiny and all the way on the other side of the massive room. Not in front of the lounge suite and was too far away for decent viewing from the bed or lounge.
There was a microwave on the desk and a tray of utensils. On the other side of the room there was a bar fridge with some more kitchenware and a kettle. The only sink was the fancy sink in the bathroom and was very difficult to wash dishes in there. It really could do with a kitchenette.
Carpet was quite stained too. Other than that it was very clean overall
- Mona (8/5): A single night stay is sufficient to see Launceston, as the city is quite small and manageable - The location is fantastic, within easy walking distance to cafes and restaurants. You can leave your car parked at the property and walk to a nearby cafe for breakfast, or enjoy lunch and dinner at some of the best restaurants in Launceston Rooms are not soundproof. It was noisy at night due to neighbors talking and using the stairs
- Steele (9/5): - Staff very friendly, willing to help with luggage if required and knowledgeable of the local area and able to give suggestions on food and activities.
Great location.
Room was neat and tidy. Ground floor room you can hear everything that moves above you, when other guests use the shower in other rooms and could hear muffled talking in adjoining room...explains the ear plugs they offer in bathroom.
- Sarah (9/5): Excellent getaway base - Spacious and comfortable
Off street parking
Walk to shops and restaurants
Staff were very helpful and friendly Nothing
- Jason (9/5): Great place, great location - Stayed at The Hideaway on George and it was fantastic. The check-in process was easy, and the apartment was big, clean, and very comfortable, with a king-size bed and a great bath. The central location made it easy to get around downtown Launceston. We had a vehicle, so the steep hills in the area weren’t an issue at all. Would happily stay here again.
- Rudi (10/5): if im that way again I will stay there again - Very clean and cosy was there for 5 days. Would have been good to have water delivered daily.
- Ruth (9/5): - Location
- David (10/5): Had a school group staying here and it was fantastic! - Room had plenty of space and were very comfortable. nothing.
- McNamara (9/5): -
- Maryanne (9/5): -
- Carl (10/5): -
- Kylie (8/5): -
- Denis (10/5): Impeccable, j’y reviendrais avec plaisir. - Tout! Accueil très chaleureux, la dame était très sympathique. Rien.
- Jones (9/5): Lovely - Fabulous quaint hotel short walk to everything. Room was spacious and comfortable, bathroom and shower were large and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The windows need full coverage. Blinds have a gap all the way around that lets in light from their lamps outside, so was quite light in the room at night.
- Susan (9/5): -
- Megan (9/5): -
- Pui Lee (8/5): - good location.
- Shirly (10/5): - Great room - very clean and comfortable. Short walk to the town centre and other sites, great location. Highly recommend this place to stay. Nil.
- Brooke (8/5): It was a pleasant stay, but noise from other guests (not the accom provider) just walking and slamming doors etc, wasn’t - Location and clean Noise from other guests. That’s why they provide earplugs!
- KOICHI (9/5): -
- Jodie (10/5): Wonderful - Lovely comfortable and clean with everything you need.
- Gaye (8/5): - Bad insulation against noise from upper floors
- Timothy (9/5): -
- John (9/5): - Very clean and comfortable with friendly people
- Grant (10/5): Well appointed refurbished apartments close to excellent Indian Restaurant - Convenient location with walking distance to centre of town
- Simon (9/5): - Great location and very nice room
- Louise (8/5): - Location
Aspect view from windows
Car parking
Great bathroom
Lots of space Please please can we have liquid hand wash at the basin
Does anyone wash their hands anymore with bar soap that totally stuck to the dish
- Erin (9/5): Lovely stay, super cosy and homely! - Super cosy vibe, clean room, big bathroom with modern design, easy and organised after hours access Shower head was small and the water pressure could have been stronger - easy fix though
- NeilL (8/5): very comfortable accommodation in a great location. - The location is excellent for easy access to restaurants, bars and sites of Launceston. The room is very spatious and well appointed. The room did not have very good insulation from noise upstairs and people talking in the corridor and going upstairs. We did not discover the ear plugs until the following morning as they were placed in the bathroom. Placing them on the bedside drawers with a note to guests would have been helpful.
- Lachlan (7/5): -
- timothy (9/5): Great value, centrally-located and very comfortable. - Hideaway is very central to all restaurants, bars and shops. The rooms are spacious and have excellent natural light. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay there next time I am in Launnie. I have no complaints. It exceeded my expectations.
- Oceanias (6/5): - Centrality Small room. When I ve booked looked like a little apartment
- Joshua (8/5): -
- linda (8/5): Spacious - Spacious room. Great location for walking into Launceston. Clean and easy to park. No welcome biscuits thus time😅
- Stephen (10/5): - Retored Georgian mansion, separate 2 storey units spread over property. Our unit 14 was 2 storey twin bedroom, bathroom upstairs, kitchen laundry lounge downstairs stairs. Complimentary water, cosmetics. Air-conditioning forb9c morning in march. Parking at door. Sunny Courtyard. Walk to main cbd retail. Steep access.
- Darryl (9/5): - The location to the CBD
- Stuart (7/5): Nice cosy place to stay - Close to the city , easy to walk to restaurants etc We were on ground floor so we heard people above us next time I will book upstairs room
- Peter (10/5): -
- Jane (10/5): A great place to stay - Beautiful, comfortable, clean and well equipped cabin in a treed setting within easy walk of town. Unexpected bonus of a washing machine and tumble dryer in our unit. No mats for plates, cups etc on the wooden tables. Worried about the marks left but not sure if they were done by us or already there
- Noel (7/5): - As an overniter, got wat we paid for. Shower was very gd. For a local walk, try historic Elizabeth St near Prince's Sq . Settled on Northern Publc House for dinner, found their new rooftop clean, quiet and convenient, 100 mtrs. All in all, did the job, but one night was enough.
- Charlotte (10/5): - We had a lovely stay. Large spacious and clean room with comfortable bed.
- CArol (8/5): - Spaciousness The loud plumbing noise
- Michelle (10/5): Bright and comfortable apartment in a great location - The loft apartment was bright and spacious with great outlook and location Entry from George St was a little hard to find if not familiar
