- Tleubayeva (10/5): - The room was very clean, comfortable and much better than in other hostels we have stayed this week. It was very easy to find and come back to the highway nothing
- Linda (8/5): - Friendly staff. Very clean. Hot breakfast was rather lukewarm. Room was very hot. Had to use air-conditioning to cool it down.
- Thomas (10/5): Short stay - Appreciate the boat parking and the clean room. Pillows were lacking
- Jason (9/5): -
- Robin (8/5): - The room was very comfortable, and the staff was very nice. I was really looking forward to some time in the hot tub, but of course it wasn’t working.
- 307brentu (8/5): A good place! - Comfortable. Staff courteous... Will visit again! Room and ammenities were very nice. Spacious. Easy access to the community.
- Jerold (10/5): - Easy check in. Friendly staff. I never had to call or ask for anything. Nice stay.
- gpP40DO (10/5): Good Stay - There's not much to share. We were there to go to the race at St Louis on Saturday and Sunday with family from Oblong. I was thrilled to find out you allowed dogs and could bring my Boston Terrier with us. The room was quite nice, laid out very well, no unusual odors that I've found in other places, and worth the money I spent.
- Verified traveler (8/5): The only option in town! - First room smelled like mildew, so we were promptly moved to another room. Good service overall. The common areas (stairs, hallways) could use a good cleaning or at least a daily vacuuming.
- rgraves802 (10/5): Cobblestone Very Nice!! - Cobblestone is one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in and we've stayed in many.
Rooms are very modern, always clean and the staff is very friendly. My wife and I highly recommend it!
- Y5948VUkiml (10/5): Clean and Friendly - This hotel is so clean and everyone that works there is very friendly and helpful. Special thanks to the housekeeper that took good care of us is Kelly. Thanks to a wonderful staff.
- Houtz (8/5): Great location, bit pricey for the area, but amazing breakfast! - Easy to find, park, not far from town center Bathrooms are starting to show signs of wear, paint peeling, toilets running if handles not flipped just right.
Hot tub was out of order.
- Kacky Pance (10/5): Great simple hotel with everything we needed! - Great simple hotel with everything we needed! The accessible room was perfect and included a shower seat, which was a huge help. Easy parking, great breakfast, comfortable beds.
- elizabethfJ5842EL (10/5): Would stay again - Clean room and a quiet night sleep. The room had all the standard amenities and a hot breakfast included. The overall stay was great value!
- Darcie (8/5): -
- 50sherrin (10/5): A wonderful and relaxing experience - Best hotel I’ve been to in many years. Beds are so comfy and fluffy, clean swimming pool and slots machines were very giving. A good night sleep without any interruptions. Staff was excellent and very helpful. Thank you!
- David (10/5): Clean, spacious, comfortable and quiet - The room was clean, spacious, comfortable and quiet. The hot breakfast was excellent, We would definitely recommend the motel to others.
- Brenda (10/5): Excellent place to stay if you’re in the area - We were in that area for a funeral. Our room was clean. The breakfast was great and checkout was fast. N/a
- LaVae (8/5): - Clean, pet friendly, nice breakfast, nice bar area staff was helpful and friendly
- geraldmB7278VS (10/5): Good stay. - Great staff and very clean room . The rooms need Another chair so the second person does not have to sit on the bed to watch TV. Enjoyed my stay and will be back.
- Ibbotson (1/5): It was miserable - Nothing There wasn't one thing we liked from the initial check in until we checked out the experience was the worst we've ever had there. We've been staying at that hotel on and off for 15 years. I have a family reunion in Olney every year. When we arrived they couldn't find our reservation yet I called two days after booking it to make sure they had it reserved. Then they check us into a dirty room. Second room was ok it looked clean anyways. The fan in our room had the weirdest smell when it was running. We woke up both mornings coughing and feeling like we were getting sick. Now I'm wondering if the unit in our room had mold in it bc that's what it smelled like when it was running. The breakfast was an absolute joke a gas station has better options than that place. The coffee was so bitter and old we opted for Scooter's. The location was ok and hadn't really changed in a year. The lady who initially checked us in was rude and completely unhelpful. The owner/manager was so foreign we could barely understand him. The day we checked out they charged an additional fee of $140 to my husband's debit card claiming we didn't stay there and bc we reserved but "didn't actually stay there" they charged us a few for not cancelling. That took 4 days to finally be refunded to my husband's card. Worst hotel experience ever. We won't be back.
- Minor (9/5): Excellent - Variety of food. Coffee good. Bathtub. Had handicap room , tub had strips on the bottom but it was slick. Had to hold on to bars so I wouldn't slip.
- F299CApatr (10/5): Friendly staff. Enjoyed our stay - Very friendly staff. Clean lobby. Clean rooms. We stay here every time we make a trip to the area to be with our family who live in the area. Great location for us.
Thank you for a good stay.
- christinecT8376OM (6/5): Room needs maintenance. - The Hotel has not had any upgrades since it has been built. The room I was in, the toilet moved every time it was sat on, and the shower is dripping water near the wall and the wall has water damage. The shower needs to have additional bars for safety.
- Kevin (6/5): - An unnecessary stickler
- Michael (7/5): Good - The tables are tight, and the food quality was fair.
- Seaside63965661589 (10/5): Fun trip - Everything was great and special thanks for the boat parking and plug-ins. Breakfast was nice and had a good assortment. Easy check-in and check-out. Staff was friendly. The only thing I would change was the water pressure in the shower was not good.
- Gary (6/5): - Had a 4:00 wedding the front desk person would not let us check in until 3:00 he said he had stuff to do and check the rooms but he never left the front desk he made everyone late checking in. We missed the first part of
- Dale (10/5): - boat hook up clean very good management next time hope hot tub is open treats the fishing crew very nice
- Patricia (10/5): Exceptional - They staff at the desk was very friendly and made u feel like u was like family Nothing.it was wonderful
- Dale (10/5): - like the boat charging hook ups for 8 boats and well lite up
- Katharine (10/5): Great comfortable accommodations - We loved our stay here! The bed was so comfortable and room was clean. We were in town for a wedding reception that was within walking distance, so the location was great.
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (7/5): Good - Quiet. Clean. Had a refrigerator. Breakfast was pretty poor.
- Chad (8/5): - Noisy fridge. Kept cycling through every 20-30 mins and made a lot of racket. Otherwise, room was fine.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Decent Stay - Not being familiar with this hotel I was not sure what to expect at this hotel. Was pleasantly surprised. The seal on the fridge didn't work and the room door handle was a little goofy, but the woman working the front desk was super friendly and helpful. In general, clean and comfortable for the night and I'd stay there again.
- Marney (8/5): Served us well, clean quiet and staff was very friendly. - Hot coffee and tea all the time. No work out room it was in the laundry room.
- Branden (10/5): Nice place - Love this place will be definitely be back when traveling through again
- Wanderer42276679127 (10/5): Very nice stay. - The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The facility was clean and easy to locate. Such a surprise for a small town. The hot tub was not working due to mechinal failure and fitness room is in the guest laundry. Neither of which where a problem for our four day stay.
- Kim (10/5): - This was really a clean hotel with a comfy bed. The price was great! I will be using this hotel again when I pass through.
- Brittany (10/5): - David was helpful when i had an issue at Check in!
- alicia (10/5): Luxury in a small farm town - Was here for a high school friend's 50th birthday party. Hadnt been to this small town in years. First time staying at Cobblestone. Plushy beds and pillows. Felt like i was sleeping on a cloud.
Definitely would stay here again
- Tim (10/5): - It was quiet and the room was nice
- P5372YQpamelaf (4/5): David was a complete jerk and not professional or empathetic. - I booked a room for my daughter and her husband and family due to my dad‘s death. Newton is a very small community and my childhood home. My daughter called the hotel and asked for an early check-in and said that they would arrive about 2 PM and David the employee of cobblestone said that would be fine. My daughter, her husband and two children needed to get ready for the visitation when they arrived. The visitation was at 3 PM so it was imperative that they get an early check-in. When they arrived, nobody was anywhere to be found and they waited in the lobby for over 20 minutes And my daughter called me because no one was there at the hotel to check them in and the visitation was at 3 o’clock and they needed to get into the room. When David finally arrived, he said they could not check in early and they could not start bringing in any of their belongings and that they needed my credit card to check in. I called the hotel and spoke to David and asked under the conditions. Could he please just let them get into their room and I assured him that I would be there and pay for the room. They had my credit card on file to secure the room. But David was not empathetic or understanding at all and insisted that I risk being late to my dad‘s visitation just to present my credit card. He was extremely rude when I arrived and walked out of the room and said he was not going to allow them to even check in early. At this time, it was 20 minutes before 3 PM. He was the rudest and nonprofessional individual. I have ever come in contact with at a hotel. I was extremely devastated and upset at his non-professionalism and inability to work with us under the circumstances.
- Danielle (10/5): - Nice place
- 111pattir (6/5): Would only stay here if we have to. Did not feel welcomed. - The room was nice like a typical hotel room. The only negative commet is the staff. Mark acted like we were an inconvience to him for even booking a room. He was very rude. The breakfast was good. We enjoyed visiting with friends and other traverlers.
- sharonaX5027NY (8/5): Great hotel. - Had a very good experience staying at this hotel. I would like to suggest that they put treads in the bathtub/shower , as it gets slippery when wet. We are an older couple and worry about slipping in the shower. The exercise room was rather small but the weather was nice enough that we could walk outside.
- I4878TIamandas (10/5): Weekend in Newton - Slept great. Breakfast was very good. Love the coffee. Had a great time with family in spite of cousin leaving her keys in her room. Will book there again when we come back to Newton. Also spent the weekend there two weeks before that for a class reunion. Thanks to your staff for a great stay.
- rosaliog440 (10/5): Highly Recommended - Great Place to stay.
Very nice and clean, rooms are nice, the pool is nice, and the beds are comfortable.
There is plenty of parking and the staff is top notch. I will definitely stay here again. Thank you for a great experience.

- Karen (9/5): Superb -
- Kirk (6/5): Medeoker stay. Could a been better - Ok but could have been a better experience.hot tub broken stairwell door stop smashed in, mildew in window corners, window blinds draw stick broken, air conditioner lid broken, sink stopper missing, towels felt rough.
- Russell (10/5): - Check in with Mark was welcoming with friendly back and forth joking banter. Room was comfortable. Hotel has a bar and little shopping area run by the receptionist. Great stay.
- Terrance (8/5): I stayed there last year for my Aunts funeral also, rooms nice and clean. - Breakfast needs more and better warm options Disappointed that I could not get the bereavement rate as I was there for my uncle’s funeral. Was told I had to book directly throughout the hotel.
Hotel alarm clock went off early in the morning and two other guests rooms on its own.
- Jessica (10/5): Perfect road trip stop - Kind of in the middle of nowhere . Staff was very kind and welcoming. Even had a little csino (4 or 5 slots) where I turned my $20 into $40 as I waited for my daugher to finish phone calls. Good little bar as well. Friendly locals
- Cindy (10/5): - The staff was very friendly and accommodating to us. They allowed us to check in early to get ready for my dads funeral. Thank you so much!
- Daniel (6/5): - Interior starting to look tired. Fresh coat of paint and new carpeting would help the appearance.
- markkO5493QU (10/5): Satisfaction - Clean, modern, quiet, user friendly, great service, decent breakfast, adequate internet, sunny, close to town, and a manager who is a little snippy but willing to work with clients on room rates and check out. Convenient to the drive in theatre.
- Cameron (7/5): Good -
- Ricky (8/5): Had a good stay, well worth the money. - Clean, comfortable bed, good selection of TV channels. All good.
- Lisa (6/5): - The property was clean and quiet. The room was clean and plenty of hot water for the shower. I liked that they put the toiletries in the shower for easy access. There was no elevator which was a little inconvenient being on the second floor. Also the beds were way to soft and tall which made it difficult to get in and out of for older people. We were in a double room so it was roomy but only one chair so the second person has to sit on the bed. Something to set the suitcase on would have been nice instead of the floor.
- Vanessa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cathy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Y6759FZlindae (4/5): Not worth the good reviews - We drove extra miles because of the good reviews. The room was clean at first glance. the bathroom smelled like urine, the bathroom floor was dirty. the shower curtain was dirty. the mirror looked to be washed with a wet dirty rag. the floor was vacumed down the center lots of dirt in edges and dark places like the safe area. at night rather large brown bugs came out, cockroaches? and when i told the morning clerk he just smiled at me like it was funny. the breakfast was dangerously cold. The person who checked us in was very nice. i realize hotels have a lot of traffic, but we have stayed in cleaner rooms for the same price
- Chelle (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (8/5): - Off the beaten path, nice, quiet place. Just what I wanted except the hot tub wasn’t working
- Paul (8/5): - Nice and clean and out of the way. Only disappoint was the hot tub wasn’t working
- Mommak (3/5): They need a maintenance crew obviously. - The food was good and it was nice to have a bar. My toilet acted up. Instead of a worker looking at it, I was handed a plunger and was to do it myself, if I wanted it done. Obviously this is the only hotel in town so I did not have any other choice. Also, hot tub was out of order.
- 493scottt (10/5): I'd do it again - Front desk guy is overworked and probably underpaid.....give this guy some help AND more money......room was neat and clean.....give housekeepers more help AND more money.....hot tub was not working, bummer......but wasn't going to use it anyway......kids running up and down 2nd floor hallway being kids......but also heard them laughing, so it was all good......but the "hot pockets" in the hotel snack room SUCKED!!!!!! ..... not the hotel's fault, I just make poor food choices.....
- 57edmondk (10/5): What a Hotel should be - Was in Newton for the Jarhead Jamboree!!!! The room was clean. The Hotel staff was great… friendly and welcoming!!! If I am ever back in Newton I will definitely be staying here!!!! Very convenient to downtown Newton!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Y5948VUkiml (10/5): Wonderful place to stay... - I've stayed here many times and each time it gets better. I really enjoyed the lunch truck that comes by. It used to be called the Wurst Weiner and now it's called Curved Cravings. It was the best and I'm from Chicago!
Enjoyed the new ice cream place in Newton called Hometown.
Enjoyed the slots in the hotel, they liked me a lot this time.
One added place to go is the new Casino in Terre Haute. It's only an hour from the hotel. It was a nice ride and so much fun.
The room and the hotel is spotless. You can tell the whole management team takes great pride in their hotel.
I missed the pool this time but will hit it the next time.
This is the best place to stay and lots to enjoy.
Thanks Cobblestone, see you all next time.
- tobmar (10/5): Wedding Weekend - Welcome sign for the wedding party reserved rooms. Nice and Clean room, Close to West End Reception and Events Center, nice pool, friendly service! Nice quiet part of town. Gambling machines if you like and was able to get a pizza in the eveneing
Good Breakfast.
- michellemL8410NB (10/5): Great pool! - It was a wonderful room & my kids really enjoyed the pool. After a long drive the pool was just what we needed to play & burn off some toddler energy. It was nice, quiet & relaxing to have a room that accommodated our family while visiting other family. Staff was very responsive at breakfast.
- Tina (8/5): - Clean, comfortable and welcoming! Nothing fancy, but everything you need.
- Denise (10/5): Exceptional -
- Charisse (10/5): Hard yes to this one - Excellent & clean as stated in prior reviews.
Staff super!
Great price.
- Verified traveler (10/5): 10/10 - Really nice place! If you’re into playing the machines, look no further- they have 6 games available along with a bar! Definitely awesome place! Came here to pre fish for a tournament coming up.
- Karl Richard (10/5): - everything was as good or better than expected
- CobbleBBow (10/5): Amazing stopover on long road trip. - The hotel was very clean, and staff was very friendly. Rooms were large and beds were comfortable. Bathroom was large with plenty of room to move around. Breakfast was very good and there was plenty of choices. Ate breakfast overlooking the small lake in the back of the hotel. Was a great place to stop after a long day driving.
- Beverly (10/5): Great Budget Hotel! - We had a great stay at Cobblestone! Check in was friendly, room was clean, and hotel was quiet. The breakfast area was small but adequate as the hotel was at full capacity for the local eclipse. Nothing bad to say about our visit. We would stay here again.
- Kathleen (10/5): - Friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms
- hazelhedge715 (10/5): Just Right - Very comfortable, clean and quiet hotel in Newton. We did not have the breakfast because we left at 4:30 a.m. to see prairie chickens. Beds and pillows were comfortable and staff were kind and helpful. It’s great to have a hotel close to the Prairie Ridge State Natural Area.
- N4346JKanitam (10/5): Great Stay - It was very clean, and the staff was extremely friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. The manager came down to the back door to help us with our luggage. The coffee was good and the breakfast was adequate. Overall it was a good experience.
- JEFFERY (10/5): Overall A good place to stay - We have stayed the Newton Cobblestone Hotel numerous times. The rooms are always clean and the beds are softer than most hotels we have stayed at. The lack of an Elevator makes the second floor inconvenient
with health issues. The breakfast is not on par with major chain hotels, but it is included. It has an indoor pool and hot tub which is nice. The parking is convent with room for boats and trailers. The staff has always been polite.
- Tabbitha (7/5): Good - Very clean and comfortable I had 2 queen beds. The bed I had was all sunken in. I think it was broken or something. The other bed was not but my kids had that bed. I couldn't even sleep on the one. It was so sucken on so bad.
- G7878OUdonaldt (10/5): Nice place to stay - Prices are a little high for Newton, IL. Only three cars in the parking lot🤔
Must be a reason? Probably will stay again, there are less expensive options nearby. I hope the Hotel will consider that. I thought is was strange you can book online fore less than call the Hotel directly.
- Sean (9/5): Superb -
- Melissa (7/5): Good for overnight visit. - Although it was convenient to the main road, the proximity was a bit too close and there was road noise. Like most businesses in the area, right on top of the main road. Absolutely no trees or anything of interest nearby.
- Darcie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Darcie (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (10/5): Excellent value - Everything is convenient. The breakfast was good. Nice to have a bar area and the GM Marc was great!! The hot tub didn’t work which was disappointing.
- Alan (9/5): Superb -
- Robert (6/5): Grandkids trip - If we knew there was no stairs would never have stayed
- Rebecca (4/5): - I liked the idea of being able to relax in a hot tub. However it wasn't working. Start not very friendly and even kinda rude. I had a special request that nobody took the time to respond to.
- Meagan (6/5): - Smelt like smoke, walls dirty , bed really uncomfortable
- Alan (8/5): Very good -
