• Salima (8/5): Will be the last option. - Jang , icey and Kling were amazing. Always smiling and happy to assist you .. The hotel is clean . Location is a bit far like 25min walk from the city center, its low season so most of the shops around are closed . About the room , had tough time to sleep as the mattress and pillows were very hard . The socket was a bit far from the bed . Many furniture unneeded in the room as everything was big ( big chairs , big table, big stand ) the space between the bed and table is very small as I hited my toes every time I stood up from the bed. Breakfast was very poor , no fresh juice, and only green salad and cherry tomatoes available. A la carte menu for Asian Breakfast and omelette . International food will be appreciated like bacon , mix veggies . Ah , no room service ...

• A (10/5): Great! - I enjoyed the vibe of the resort and the room. The bed was a little stiff but I enjoyed it very much! The staff was super friendly and so warm and welcoming! Three different drivers had a hard time finding the location and it does have a similar name to another hotel so we were initially dropped off in the wrong location. Maybe a sign or some external lights would be helpful!

The staff were absolutely delightful and so welcoming. Breakfasts were delicious, the pool was lovely and refreshing on those very hot days and the rooms were immaculate and finished in a beautiful local lanna style which you can't help but notice everywhere you look. From the door handles to the bed and hot tub the whole place was finished to a high level much the sane as the service and staff Our stay was too short.

• Marc (10/5): Helemaal fantastisch - Ik geef eigenlijk nooit een 10 maar dit verblijf en de medewerkers in het bijzonder verdienen het gewoon. Kamer netjes, goeie airco, douche en spa bad, gratis flesjes water, gratis koffie en thee (ook de ijs variant) 24/7 gratis. Goed Thais en “westers” ontbijt. Keuze is beperkt maar hé ben eerlijk. Je eet thuis ook niet elke dag van een buffet. Zwembad is niet groot maar je bent er om Chiang Mai te zien en het is een extra. Ga hier zeker heen. Alles was top!

It is very suitably located close to the town centre (short walk) and next to a beautiful temple and river boat trips. The Thai restaurant just along the road at the entrance to the night market is superb. The staff are delightful, the cat (Lucky) is hilarious, we knew him as a kitten, and feels like an oasis in the hustle and bustle of Chiang Mai. N/A

Voor ons was dat super, zodat de kindjes konden slapen en wij alsnog met vrienden buiten een drankje konden doen (en toch dichtbij te zijn). Minpuntje is de drukke weg. Wij hadden een kamer aan de achterkant, dus niet echt last van gehad. Maar kan me voorstellen dat het luidruchtiger is aan de voorkant.

• Trevor (10/5): A great place in a fantastic location - The hotel is beautiful, full of traditional design and artifacts. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The staff are amazing, so helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great with fantastic service. A good location for the old town and markets. It was all really good, we would have used the pool but the water was too cold to swim.
• Mark (10/5): Wonderful Hotel and Staff - Fantastic hotel, everything was beautiful and the staff were so friendly and lovely. The room was stunning, plenty of space and really comfortable and quiet. Pool was very pretty although didn't get a lot of direct sun in the afternoon (we were there in December/January) so was a bit cold but I expect it's better in later months. It was clean and well maintained though, and the area around it very pretty again. The location is fairly quiet but just over the road from the river and a river tour dock was a 4 minute walk away, while Anusarn market with all its food options was just 7 minutes or so to walk and then the night bazaar and market the other side of Anusarn. The city walls were about a 20 -25 minute walk perhaps but it's perfectly pleasant, or you can just flag a tuk-tuk. Overall a wonderful place and again, cannot express how lovely the staff were.

Plenty of great options in Chiang Mai - unfortunately this overpriced “hotel” is not one of them

• Sandrine (10/5): Grâce à la gentillesse du personnel, ce lieu est exceptionnel - Le personnel est hyper gentil et attentionné. On se sent accueillis et privilégiés ici. Le petit déjeuner est juste un bonheur. L ensemble de l hôtel et ce jardin luxuriant en font un endroit superbe (mais le bruit de la rue ternis un peu ce lieu d exception) La proximité de la rue et donc de la circulation routière. Le lit est un peu dur pour nous.
• Debiprasad Sarkar (6/5): Okay - Location was good. Breakfast was very basic. Room was small with inadequate space to put up our luggage. Wardrobe was small with non functional clothes hangers. The online picture wrongly depicts the sit out and verandah as part of the room whereas it was a common area. Entrance access and floors very uneven and not good for people with leg problems. Staff were helpful but communication in English restricted to few staff members only. We cut short our visit as the conditions were not very conducive for a longer stay. Stair steps were high. Bathroom had a huge bathtub which I don't know how many would use. Lighting in the room was very dim. Some mosquitoes were also flying around at night so had to keep the lights on. The shower water pressure was erratic and would increase or decrease at will.

• Galiya (10/5): A truly wonderful and authentic experience - Beautiful historic building that has been wonderfully maintained. The staff are very attentive. Not far from the night market that is worth visiting, food is delicious there. Just remember to bring the mosquito repellent ( it’s not the hotel’s fault), it’s just part of being in Chiang Mai. In the rooms they have fumigator though.

• Lukas (6/5): - The staff was very friendly and attentive. The location was conveniently, close to the Old City with lots of markets and dining. There is constant noise from the road and the pool is both unheated and always in the shade, so enjoying the courtyard is not possible. The room would be nice if it wasn’t so incredibly dark. There was no natural light at all. The mattress was VERY firm. We asked for a mattress topper and still woke up with neck and back pain each morning. Overall, the hotel needs to be modernised: smart TVs, newer mattresses, nightstands with outlets. We definitely expected more from our stay and, though the staff tried their best to help find solutions, it missed the mark.
• Daniela (9/5): Unbedingt gern bald wieder! - Das Personal ist überragend freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben auch sehr gerne den Teeservice genutzt. Die Lage ist toll, man kann auch zu Fuß das Zentrum erreichen. Das Frühstück war sehr reichhaltig mit Salat, Früchten und warmen Optionen. Das Bett ist sehr bequem sowie die gesamte Ausstatrung sehr hochwertig und authentisch mit Holz gebaut ist. Kein Plastik! Nur sehr wenig. Im Bad fehlte ein Griff am Whirlpool.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Very easy to get to the old town walking 30 min or by tuk tuk 10 min. The pillow was not very comfortable (too bulky) and a bit noisy as the hotel is next to a road.

If you read this comment, you have to book your stay there, you won't regret it ! The hotel is ideally situated, outside the old city center so it's very quiet, but close to the night market so you can enjoy a great dîner after a day of visit
• Bärbel (8/5): - Das Zimmer ist groß und gut. Das Bett war mir etwas zu hart. Zum Frühstück gibt es eine kleine Karte zum Frühstück dazu. Das Frühstück ist überschaubar aber gut. Das Personal ist freundlich. Es gibt auch einen kleinen Hausmeister " Lucky" eine schwarze Katze.... Das Bett war für mich zu hart. Das Hotel liegt an der Straße.
• LISA (10/5): - Staff were ultra friendly and accommodating. Location was great particularly for Night Bazaar. We hired a moped to get around which was very easy - rental shop around the corner. Recommend the Centre of the Universe for a bigger pool with more space to relax on sun loungers and getting a massage from the Chiang Mai Institution Vocational Training Center. Pool area very exposed in terms of being right in the middle of the dining area and only two sun loungers for all guests. The pool also doesn't really allow sunlight in as many trees and foliage which is beautiful as is the teak interior and wood surroundings. Just don't book this hotel if you have visions of being able to enjoy the sunshine around the pool hence the Centre of the Universe recommendation!
• Matt. (5/5): - Liked the location, courteous and attentive staff, good coffee (which was available 24/7). Bottled water given daily, which was fabulous! Nice touches given on bed for our honeymoon. Good 24 hour laundry service offered at a decent price. Room was dusty, dark, not well ventilated. No light except for windows which overlooked the patio which was public, so needed to shut them most of the time. Towels weren't very soft and were on the older side.

• Heiko (10/5): Perfekter Aufenthalt! - Das Amata Lanna ist ein mir Liebe zum Detail und authentisch eingerichtetes Hotel, das ca. 20 Minuten fußläufig von der Altstadt entfernt liegt. Unser Zimmer und das Bad waren groß und komfortabel eingerichtet. Das Frühstück ist abwechslungsreich und hat uns lecker geschmeckt. Das Hotel besticht aber vor allem durch sein extrem freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Jeder noch so kleine Wunsch wurde erfüllt, Aktivitäten wie selbstverständlich gebucht und wir bekamen immer wieder Tipps für Unternehmungen. Ein herzliches Dankeschön an das Team, wir kommen gerne wieder. Man sollte wissen, dass das Amata Lanna direkt an einer Straße liegt und man den Verkehr hört.

• Jan Wilco (7/5): Prettig verblijf ondanks wat ongemakken. - Locatie was uitstekend. Alle bezienswaardigheden op loopafstand. Vriendelijk personeel in het hotel. We kregen Kamer 203 omdat kamer 103 niet goed schoon was. Kamer 103: hygiene was niet goed.
