- CLAUDIA (8/5): - Nos gustó la habitación, muy espaciosa, cómoda y limpia, el desayuno bien variado, lo malo los jugos disponibles muy artificiales y el huevo se acababa temprano y no lo reponían, solo 1 día alcanzamos de los 3 que estuvimos. Y algo que no me gustó para nada es el área de la piscina, desde el ascensor muy sucias las puertas, el sebo pegado y que decir del recinto en general, colillas de cigarros tiradas que las vi desde que llegué hasta el día que nos fuimos, o sea no hacen aseo en ese lugar, muy descuidado y con mi hijo íbamos tanto en la mañana como en la tarde y siempre sucio. La escalera para acceder dentro de la piscina toda suelta y peligrosa, las barandas perimetrales con telarañas. Todo lo demás bien.

We stayed in the summer and it was very uncomfortable trying to fall asleep in a hot room. They don’t have an ice machine and we got the look as if we were freaks when asked front desk for it.

It was great, until the last evening, that was when the waiters, in the dining room, told us we could not served in the restaurant. When I complained to the front desk, they talked to the waiters and then we were invited to dine. However, no one had informed us that the price for dinner would be $100 apiece and that all the other restaurants in town would be closed for the New Years Eve celebration. We were not offered a regular dinner, dinner in our room. This was a surprise because in the three prior days, no-one told us about the unusual expense or the fact that all the restaurants in town would closed that night. To top our evening off, the noise from the party both from the rooftop, in the hallways, adjacent rooms. The beat of the music and loudness keep me awake most of the night. The party on the rooftop party was still going on at 3:30 AM in the morning. There was never an offer from the Hotel to compensate us for the last night and what we endured!

- Janis (8/5): - The Eco Hotel is a conveniently located hotel in Talca with basic but spacious rooms. Reasonably quiet, inspite being on a major boulevard, and sporting a young, helpful staff. The hotel restaurant was surprisingly good, and stays open late. The breakfast buffet also had a good variety of options. This is a nice option for both business travelers and those wanting to overnight South of Santiago while enroute to the Lake District.

I have stayed at other hotels in Talca and it is my opinion that this is one of the best in that city. I will definitely stay here again.

- Rick (4/5): Mediocre at Best - The staff was very nice.The room was ok.The gym could be better used to hang your laundry.I have stayed at many hotels in Chile that are supposed to be at the same level and compare in price.My major dissapointment is this... The breakfast has gone from a 6 to a 1 since my last stay. Based on comparison to the hotels this one is not even worth getting out of bed.Breakfast I was told is served from 630 to seven.The best thing in the buffet was the coffee. I have eaten in the restaurnt and its a decent restaurant. The fruit is canned and the only protein was cut up hotdogs.There was an assortment of snack food that was gas station worthy.It seems like they just put out stuff the restaurant didn't sell. Also there is a bar on the roof at night so if you want to sleep I suggest not staying here on the weekend.I stay in this town often and have chosen to stay in another hotel more professinally run by American standards just out of down town area.I think that upper Management decided to make some cuts to yield higher profits and just figured no one would complain.Very disappointed and expected much more for its rating. Sorry Expedia your rank on this one is wrong.

- Dorothea (10/5): Okay hotel in awful city! - Leaving on Tuesday, I arranged to stay in Talca 3 hours away from Santiago knowing from Hotel.com that there was a tour desk on site.The desk clerk was able to arrange a winery tour for the following day. The room was nice, air con a little loud. Pool on roof small and cold. Talca itself is awful. If you must go there, restaurants are on Norte 1!

The food was not good, even ordering dinner at the restaurant did not improve it and it was very expensive for Chile. Tasted frozen and processed after all the fresh, local food we'd eaten. The hotel had also run out of all the local maps of the neighborhood. For tourists this proved very frustrating. We stayed here at the end of our trip to see the national park within an hour drive. Safe neighborhood and felt fine walking around at night. Seemed like a college and residential area.

- Paul (10/5): Nice convenient hotel - Check in was very simple, with courteous staff . Front desk staff spoke English much better than I can speak Spanish. The lobby had a very nice feel, with many fresh flower arrangements. The room was very nice with a modern minimalist look, having all of the amenities (electronic safe) and conveniences that travelers now expect in a nicer hotel. Initially the internet did not work in the room, but with an inquiry at the front desk it was quickly remedied with a reset.Dinner in the hotel restaurant was excellent. A very ample portion of salmon was served hot off the grill with risotto and grilled vegetables that were done perfectly. The food exceeded my expectations. The waiter was a little different story. My young waiter was determined that I should have the house special crab legs.I however, wanted to look at the menu and see what was offered.He returned several times, one time with a picture on his cell phone of a crab to make sure knew what he was referring to. When I ordered the salmon, I could see the disappointment on his face.We kind of went through the same thing when it came to ordering wine.I wanted a glass (copa)of wine, he thought I would be better off with a small bottle. By the time I declined dessert,I think he was done with me.The exchange between us was actually pretty humorous.I think he was just young and over zealous.I did notice however, that when a Chilean gentleman sat down at the table next to me,There was no hard sell on the house special.

- Dan (10/5): 5 day Stay in Talca - We went to Chile to look at property in the 7th Region. We have a very minimum of Spanish fluency but were able to get along fine. We will definitely need to become much more fluent when we move there. The property tour was with an American that lives there so we were able to see a wide variety of farms etc. Chile was a wonderful experience and the EcoHotel and staff were excellent. The room was very comfortable and the internet was great and free. The restaurant served great meals and Louis took great care of us. The included breakfast is also excellent having something for everyone including eggs and meat American style.
