MARK (10/5): - This is the best hotel i have stayed in while living in the Philippines for 10 years It is very well maintained big garden super clean and ALL amenities work the owners have decorated the rooms with some beautiful artworks Nice breakfast menu and buffet Sunday pm Boule Ping-Pong and great indoor huge pool to keep you fit Close to City Centre. Verified traveler (8/5): Safe bet choice - Goos stay overall. It’s a bit far from Puerto Princesa town but easily reachable by tricycle (15 minutes). Staff super friendly and very caring. Clean and spacious room. Delicious breakfast.
Ash (10/5): - The property grounds are really nice. Lovely garden in the centre of the property. The restaurant is outside looking into the garden. Nice made to order breakfast. They have a swimming pool aswell, (possibly communal). Unfortunately, not much to do in the area. Other restaurants are about a mile away, and the centre is more than 2 miles away. The staff were all very friendly and polite throughout my stay.

Picnic table is available for guest. I was able to bring food and have my family eat our dinner together in a picnic table. They let us cook our rice and cold water is available for us to use. There’s kettle to use although it’s shared, it’s useful to make coffee. Bath soap is provided but no shampoo and conditioner. There’s glasses and coffee mugs provided and safe box in the room.There’s table and chair in every room to sit with your friends. Friends or family are welcome to visit and they are so welcoming. I felt really home here. Downside, I got insects bites. It’s normal though when you’re in nature. Thank you Balay Tuko. I will be back.
Huron (10/5): My favorite stay in all of Asia - The staff was beyond friendly. The food was wonderful. They asked what I wanted for breakfast the night before so it could be ready before my tour. They gave me a free ride to the mall because it was raining. The garden looks exactly like the pictures. Thank you Balay Tuko. I would live there if I could.

Plassen ligger litt anonymt til, der er ingenting rundtom, men det er tilgjengelig transport i form av trikes rett utenfor døren og hotellet kan skaffe deg transport i resepsjonen (ppc) Hotellet er ganske nytt, rommene har bra standard, men noen småting burde taes tak i (løse vasker, dårlig fuging på bad, aircondition som levde sitt eget liv av og til) Det er bare sporadisk bemanning i resepsjonen, dette er opplyst om, er ikke noe problem da du bare huker tak i noen som jobber der så kommer dem og ordner ut for deg. Vi brukte ikke wifien da den ikke dekket alle rommene skikkelig så bortsett fra den ikke dekker alle rom kan jeg ikke si noe om kvaliteten på tilkoblingen. Det er eget stort svømmebasseng på området med takdekning og godt med sitteplasser, dem serverer mat her og det ligger en liten bodega rett over gaten om man skulle trenge noe mer. Bra med adkomst, her er ikke noen trafikkproblemer i dette området, 3-4 private parkeringsplasser som ingen andre tar og en får kjøre inn på området for av/pålessing. Plassen er fullstendig innegjerdet og rommene har gode safer, trygg, stille og grei plass totalt.

Heiko (10/5): 2 Übernachtungen - Neuwertige Zimmer. Alles funktioniert. Essen schmackhaft. Schöne Gartenanlage, großer Pool, nettes freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Habe erneut hier gebucht. Lage etwas nördlich der City, Trikes fahren vor der Tür vorbei. Motorroller wurde bis ans Hotel geliefert und wieder abgeholt, neuwertiges Motorbike. Habe zuvor in City geschaut, nur alte Kisten mit ausgelutschten Motoren für 500 Peso, hier 600 mit mehr Power und Lieferservice.

Transportation to the city not that accessible and it’s hard to contact a taxi. There is no constant receptionist available . No intercom or phone to call the reception area. Servers in their restaurant are not well trained to cater to the customer’s needs . No refrigerator in the room to stock some foods considering that no room service and the distant to buy easy food stuffs .

Mathew (4/5): Very poor service, most basic hotel - The hotel is in the middle of nowhere down a dark Road, it is managed by what seems children (no exaggeration) don't expect anything from the hotel, Upon arrival told to fill in form not told about wifi, breakfast, Area, services available and if you ask for anything they don't know, won't help. Breakfast is available at extra cost but thats it no other food is available which means either walking down a pitch black Road to local mall(1km away) or getting an uncomfortable tricycle which involves the abligatory haggling/argument - they won't go lower than 2/3 times what the locals pay. Mall only has fast food so you won't Wat anything local. If you try and order a takeaway as option reception won't help with it, just hand you a phone and you have to pay 'corkage charge' to them on top. Wifi is unusable anywhere, no tea/coffee facilities and nothing in room I. E fridge, shampoo, hand towel.... They offer laundry but when asked they said go to laundry house in City? Like I know where that is. They offer tours which is the only time they are talkative as presumably they get commission, but some tours offered like Honda Bay at 1200p per person are only a 5k taxi away so a rip off.If you want a room in the quiet then go for it but you have to go out for food, wifi, phone signal and the reception is manned by the owners children. It was a very poor experience, I'm backpacking and I don't expect much.

Verified traveler (4/5): Very rude owner/manager - Do not stay here! The owner from Belgium at the front desk is a jerk. Expedia had asked for reviews of hotel and answered a few questions. They relayed this information to owner. He confronted me regarding the lack of amenities. When we told him about the lack of breakfast, fridge, shampoo etc he got very defensive and said what do you expect for 2000 pesos (60.00) that we paid. Firthermore we had told him he had been very rude to us and shockingly he said if you don't like it you can leave. We also needed to arrange a van ride to another city and would not let us make a call because of our comment. He also shut off the WiFi after that. Totally shocked at his behaviour, this is no way to run an establishment. He obviously doesn't care about his guests. We will never be back.
Charles (10/5): Excellent place to stay. - Extremely clean, friendly staff, quite AC and overhead fan as well! Did I mention both fan and AC were quite!! If you're noise sensitive then you will appreciate this! Breakfast was good and affordable. Great entrance corridor which consists of an arch with the roots of vines hanging down creating a pleasing effect which is sure to bring a smile to your face. Like in most of the Philippines the Wi-fi is not the greatest. I found few places in the Philippines which the connection was acceptable. Hey, this is a developing country so it's all good! This place has a nice pool with a pleasingly designed roof as well. Nice quaint grounds. They use CFL's on the premises and apparently have solar panels on the roof over the pool. A generator serves the guests electrical needs when the power goes out, only the AC will not function during power outages. Fantastic! Hot water as well! There is some sort of big dinner on Sunday nights that we did not figure out until too late, so if you're there on Sunday ask for the sitrap. You have to order dinner and breakfast the night before. Me and my fiancee loved this place and would book again should we return to Puerto Princesa!
Michael M (10/5): Relaxing experience - Balay Tuko is a great hotel, after all the hustle in Manila it was nice to go to a place that was the meaning of tranquility. All of there prices are very fair everything from room rates to meals and even lotions, the staff was extremely accommodating in every way from booking tours to amazing us with new towel designs every time they fixed our rooms.

Franklin (10/5): When in Puerto Princesa, STAY HERE! - I only stayed for one night and most of the next day after driving in from El Nido ahead of our flight the next day....but I wish I could have stayed longer! Located in a quiet area not far off the main road is the perfect location from the noise and traffic of Puerto Princesa. Beautiful, quiet and serene atmosphere with trees and plants as you enter. Rooms are large and very clean. Even though I did not have the time to use the pool, it was the largest and best looking pool I have seen anywhere at any hotel. You can do serious laps in this pool. I used the morning for the half day city tour but I was allowed to keep my things in the room until I got back....was able to take a shower and eat lunch there before before departing for the airport. Owners and staff really allowed me to make the most of the short time that I had there. But I would recommend this highly to anyone staying in Puerto Princesa.

Visitor (10/5): Nice hotel in a quiet (and poor) part of town. - The hotel is very nice and has a B&B feel to it. The breakfast is good although not included in the room rate. It is a bit far from the airport so take a jeepney for the cheapest rate or a tricycle for 100-150 pesos. There isn't much to do around the hotel but there is a pretty nice shopping mall about 20-30min walking away.
Keith & Marie (10/5): Great Experience - We stayed in the Philippines for a total of 30 days and this is one of the best stays we had. The staff members are super friendly and the owners couldn't have been more accommodating. We had trouble with our email and needed to use their computer and even their email address for some documents we had to retrieve for a tour coming up. They even sat at the computer when things got tough. Best free breakfast, best shower, most hot water, best welcome drink (real coconut milk from a carved coconut), fascinating grounds and surroundings tucked away for privacy. This is a definite repeat when we return.

Margarita (10/5): Oasis in the City - We Had a great stay! The hotel is like an oasis in the middle of the city. The garden around is gorgeous. It's about a good mile walk to the nearest restaurant, but you can ride a "Tuk-tuk,(tricycle w/ 5 passengers) to get to it real easy, up to the city center. Very close to Robinsons Mall and restaurants. Yje facilities are very good, and they offer breakfast.

TRISTAN (10/5): Balay Tuko - My Place in Palawan, Philippines - We enjoyed our stay in Balay Tuko Garden Inn. We felt that we are at our home even if we are in Palawan. Hotel owner and staff are very accommodating and easy to approach. They are very friendly as well. Rooms are well maintained and clean.
Heather (10/5): First nights on Palawan - This was a perfect stay for a couple nights in Puerto Princesa before moving on to other places on Palawan. The free shuttle met our flight, the cold fresh coconut water was refreshing upon arrival and the owners and staff couldn't be friendlier and more helpful. The rooms are immaculate and the breakfast was superb. Only downside was the location in a local neighborhood, even though there is a very good Vietnamese restaurant within walking distance.
TJ (10/5): Hidden Gem - Hotel is slightly out of town but an excellent value. The only drawback is the availability of transportation out of the hotel location after dark. You can't walk to the main road because the rain frequently washes out the dirt road turning it to mud and impassable pools of water. The tricycles rarely have a reason to pass by the hotel and if they do they are full of passangers. The hotel was kind enough to provide free transportation on occasion but this was a little limiting. The have a beautiful pool, the gardens are well mainatined. The managment is solid and were able to arrange very good tours to the local sights. I would stay there again and would reccomend the location to travelers looking for a great value.
CBG (8/5): Great Budget Find - Really enjoyed the simplicity and cleanliness of the Balay Tuko Garden Inn. The gardens are lovely. I did not try the pool but it looks like a great attraction for kids. No internet access, and no food available except for breakfast, but breakfast was fantastic. Hosts were very considerate and helped arrange tours. Free airport pick up and drop off very nice.
Garcia (10/5): Excellent - The hotel is very clean and well maintained. The staff were very friendly, attentive and courteous. They offered welcome drinks and the owner was very hospitable. This is a nice place to relax and enjoy the comforts and amenities of this hotel.

Albert (10/5): Really nice hotel - This hotel is great, very clean, nice decor good food,we were served good home cooked breakfast, fresh fruits and refreshing kalamansi juice.The husband and wife owner are very friendly and helpfull especially Theresa who fixed our tour to the Underground River, if not for her our trip to Puerto Princesa would have been a waste. We would definitely come back and stay in the same hotel.I would recommend this to a friend.
Roy Liggins (6/5): - Hotel amenities leave a lot to be desired. No in room Internet access, hotel computer available but very very slow. Hotel Ipad a little better but not good. Location a significant distance from town. Swimming pool shared with the public. On the other hand, staff very friendly and always helpful. Room rate reasonable, breakfast good. No evening meals unless specially prearranged. Free airport transfers.
Verified traveler (8/5): Just stayed for one night - We just stayed for night before our flight back to Cebu. It was a lovely little hotel. The staff were very nice and the rooms were clean. Very basic, but clean. The internet was a little slow, but everything else was fine.
Evettey (8/5): Nice family run hotel - The rooms are clean and basic, no frills. The hotel itself is away from the center of the town, so it's nice and quiet. It's only 10 mins away on trike to get to the center. Would reccomend.
Trish (8/5): "Fantastic service" - From when we arrived to when we left we couldn't fault our stay at the Balay Tuko Garden Inn. We found the owners very accommodating and helpful with suggesting different tours and places to eat and then taking us in their van to where we wanted to go. The room was very clean and as we stayed for 6 nights the bed linen was changed every 2 nights. We would recommend this accommodation to all ages.
Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely place with excellent service - We enjoyed our stay at Balay Tuko. Our 2-year old son especially enjoyed the vast nicely laid-out gardens and the indoor pool. It is a relaxing, breezy place unlike the busy and walled city hotels. The rooms, hallways and rest of the facilities are kept clean and well-maintained. The service was very personable. They organised tours for us, airport transfers, transport to city destinations and even gladly inquired about restaurant reservations, on our behalf. We highly recommend this place especially for families with small children.
Verified traveler (6/5): Good base in Puerto Princesa - Balay Tuko Garden Inn is well-run, small hotel in Puerto Princesa. The rooms are basic but clean. The bathrooms are clean with warm water. The owners are very helpful and will help arrange trips in Palawan. The hotel serves a decent breakfast of oats, fruits, eggs, breads and coffee. The hotel has a nice garden.
