Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (2/5): Very bad service - I didn't see a mention on the page that check in is not possible after 9 pm and I asked them 4 days before my arrival if it would be ok to check in a little after nine. They answered only a few hours before my arrival that it is not possible so I was left without accommodation at nine o'clock in the evening. The service was unfriendly and came very late. I did not get a refund for this either.
- Thomas (2/5): Not worth the price. - Not worth the price. A run down tenement flop house.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Filthy and no wifi - The cleanliness of this place leaves a lot to be desired. The bathroom is filthy. No wifi, even though this was listed as an amenity. We tried to contact the proprty about this by phone and whatsapp but they never even bothered to respond. After we had received the keys, they disappeared and were nowhere to be seen for the rest of our stay (1 night). Cannot recommend
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Dårlig service og dårlige forhold
- Jouni (8/5): - The hotel is a bit dusty, but that can be expected for the price. The staff was friendly and spoke good english. The area can seem a bit restless but it is actually really nice. A lot of hostels and hotels nearby, and a wonderful restaurant/bar in the same building as the Vileda hotel! Beds were okay, and clean, and bedsheets were provided along with towels. No bugs around. Area can be noisy, and the walls are made of paper, so if you are a light sleeper I suggest ear plugs. Really hot in the summer, room was provided with a fan. Really convenient 7 min walk from Mestre Station, from where easy access to all bus services to airport, and trains to Venice Old Town every 4-10 minutes.
- Gennaro Domenico (10/5): Da apprezzare - Rapporto qualità prezzo ottimo
- Claudio (10/5): - Very good location to both the train station and supermarkets. Staff was also incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and well taken care of.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The place is very convenient to the bus station, it takes you right to Venice St.Lucia.
I like this place, it’s nice and clean. You can tell the place is well taken care of. It has windows with a nice views.
The staff is very attentive and extremely polite. On the day of our arrival, he provided us with a map and was as kind to direct us to landmarks and give us recommendations.
The one thing I would have to warn is that if you are going in after check in hours, you should have your own local phone as the hotel doesn’t use what’s up. The locals aren’t keen of letting others use their phones and you’ll have a hard time contacting the owner if you don’t bring your phone.
- Massimo (8/5): Ottimo - Posizione ideale pulizia discreta personale cortese
Beim check out wieder das gleiche Spiel.
- Zoltán Miklós (6/5): - Very noisy, and hot the number 2 room.
- OscR (8/5): - It is in good location. Staff are very friendly. I can recommend
- Verified traveler (8/5): - For such price it is reasonable. I can recomment...
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Cheap, good located. Very simple. Pipe of sink in the room seemed slightly blocked.
- morgann (4/5): Not a good hotel - Not a nice room. Shared bathroom. You get what you pay for .
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Excellent location - just a stone’s throw from bus stop where a bus will take you to Piazzale Roma in about ten minutes. Good local shops close by too. But no air conditioning - only a small fan in the large room and it was 30 degrees, even at 1am! Would probably be a great hotel outside of the summer months.
- Natalia (8/5): Great hotel. Amazing staff! - Great hotel. Big room, comfortable bed and pillows.
Easy to find, close to main street and Mestre's bus station.
Shared bathroom is clean. Shower works great, hot water. Towels are a little small though.
Friendliest and most helpful staff I've ever met in a hotel. Thank you for such a great attention!
WiFi didn't work in the room.
Best price in town: 26€/night.
Close to restaurants, bars, shops and bus stops.
Such a shame guests here seem not to understand there's more people in the hotel. Loud talking and slamming doors at 02:00. People playing music in the shared bathroom at 07:00... No respect at all.

- Noro (6/5): - I am not a difficult person that's why for me it was ok. But the WIFI was so weak,it goes always off during a talk or a search in Internet. The hotel should look that it changes to a higher speed because everybody wants WIFI today.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Struttura non dalle grandi pretese. Ambienti sufficientemente puliti.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We were disappointed when we asked for a double bed and got two singles. It was super uncomfortable to sleep. Also the room was too hot but we couldn't open the window just a little bit. It would open hugely so we had to keep it closed otherwise we would be too cold.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Bed bugs! - The facilities are horrible. The place is right next to a restaurant or bar so it’s really loud. I got very little sleep and ended up covered in bed bug bites. They didn’t even have the courtesy to acknowledge me when I messaged them to tell them about the bed bugs. Don’t stay here.
- Jonah (2/5): Small hotel/motel with persistent BED BUGS! - I stayed in a room which was overheated all through the day and night. There was a persistent smell and daily/nightly visits from BED BUGS, who appear and disappear by the hour only to leave you waking up to a body full of bumps and bruises courtesy of an all night blood sucking experience.
The experience is sure to provide you with all the itches you could want and a long lasting impression of venice.
- Esteban (4/5): - Room with shared bathroom good for a budget
- Verified traveler (6/5): Misleading Information - The website (expedia) did not tell us the hotel had shared bathrooms. The description said facilitates include bathroom thats it. When we got to the accommodation we had to share a public toilet with 4 other rooms. Then we said we did not want to but they said if we changed we had to pay more. The staff was very unfriendly like asking them for any help was a big problem for them. Whenever we asked for something he would just make a face. Not a good experience.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Orribile! - Orribile!!!
- Charlotte (6/5): Schlicht und einfach - Perfekte Anbindung nach Venedig. Sehr unkompliziert und nette Leute im Hotel. Leider etwas schmuddelig. Dafür aber günstig.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Todo bien - Habitación amplia y limpia.
- Ryan (8/5): - Nice enough hotel with easy access to Venice. Shared bathroom at the end of the hall with your own sink in the room. Pleasant check in and small parking lot with gate. Bus stop to Venice is just around the corner and only cost 3 Euros roundtrip.
- Raymond (2/5): Horrible manager which made it the worst hotel exp - Worst staff ever.... Responded really rudely to requests... Location was good and that's all.bathroom was cleant regularly but can't stress enough on how rude the manager was from the minute we checked in. We were told we could leave if we were not happy with a flooded cubicle.
- Verified traveler (4/5):
- Malin (8/5): - Budget hotel close to the central station. Everything OK,
- Mevlut (2/5): - The worst Hotel and the worst hygiene hotel and the worst service, and i won't sleep for free,
Don't go there, full stop ✋
Niente tv in camera.
Bed was stuk. Douchecabine echt vies. Chagrijnig personeel.
Echt af te raden.
- Giovanni (2/5): HOTEL DA EVITARE - ESPERIENZA TOTALMENTE NEGATIVA IN PIU' ECONOMICAMENTE ECCESSIVA. NON UTILIZZERO' MAI PIU' LA VOSTRA APP.
- Verified traveler (8/5):
- Verified traveler (6/5): Albergo in buona posizione - Un albergo essenziale, pulito e collegato bene con Venezia.
- Mr Unimpressed. (2/5): Nasty - It's a dive to put it mildly, bathroom is shared with all of the rooms on that floor, so if you're unlucky you get to see how disgusting and thoughtless people can be.
- Verified traveler (6/5): First time in Venice - Price, location and the hotel's staff -polite and helpful.
- Denise & Richar (6/5): Adequate clean hotel, good bus service - Hotel Vidale is plain and simple. It represents good value for money and is in a very good location for the bus service into Venice. It probably does need a few repairs such as a few loose floor tiles, broken ceiling lamp and if you leaned against the headboard the light went out. However the rooms were very clean, with ample storage if you needed it. If you are looking for a top class hotel then do not book into this one as you will be disappointed. On saying that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and got what we expected.
- Joseph (8/5): Good stop off hotel - We only stayed one night here, so didn't really get to experience a lot. We came by car and were happy to find a big car park. It was close to lots of restaurants, a bowling alley and arcade (where we spent the only evening) and a short drive away from the Ferrari museum. The front desk staff were lovely and the room was clean.
- Andrea (8/5): Nice small hotel next to Venice in good location - Small hotel with not much confort but spacious rooms and good bathroom. Good bed and clean.
Staff very friendly. Next to supermarkets, cafe and transportation to Venice. Would recomend it to all my friends.
- valerie (2/5): Wouldn't let us in - They wouldn't open the door for us, we had to go to a neighbouring hotel and pay triple the price just to get off the streets. It's located in a really sketchy area and we were getting harassed by a groups of drunk men. The ladies of the evening hanging arund the front were quite helpful though. No refund or reply from them.
- Ahikanana (8/5): Friendly staff and convenient location - Upon check-in we were greeted by a friendly young man who provided a map of Mestre and Venice created by the hotel. He explained the recommended sightseeing course and told us exactly which bus to catch (4 or 4L), where to catch it (really close to the hotel) and where to buy discounted bus tickets at the tobacco shop in front of the bus stop. A friendly maid cleaned our room and shared bathroom each morning and changed our towels. We were surprised at such amazing service for a budget hotel!!
Nearby are 2 huge supermarkets. There is also the largest Naturasi organic supermarket we ever saw a bit further down the street if you are willing to walk. There is also a coin laundry facility in the next block.
Our room wasn't perfect though. Mosquitos frequently found their way into our room, the dresser drawers were dusty, and our "double" bed is actually 2 twin mattresses put together with double bed sheets laid over them. The bathtub is a bit humbug, as there is no curtain or door to keep water from splashing onto the floor and the water pressure was low and the water was not hot enough.
In spite of the negatives, for the price, awesome location and friendly staff I would definitely stay here again!
- Nina (4/5): lost likely it is a hostel - The room was smelly, hot, stuffed air but clean and beds are OK. You can hear everything what is going on the floor, definitely need ear plugs if you want to get any sleep. It might be OK to spend just 1 night, no more.
- pimpisa (6/5): Good place to stay only one night - The price was great. It's about 10-15 mins from the train station but if you go to Venice ,choose the bus because the bus stop is very close to the hotel. My friend and I have mixed feeling with their staff. Only one Italian looked boy was quite rude. Others were lovely.
- Alex (8/5): GOOD - The only problem the bathtub and the shower gets flood and the shower towels are small. The room are spacious and the location is good.
- Alycia (2/5): Never again - The room smelled terrible. I'll never forget the smell. There were clumps of hair in the bathroom and a weird stain on the bedsheets.
- Verified traveler (6/5): You Get What You Pay For - The hotel is a little run-down and shabby. The room I stayed in was musky and the shared bathroom left something to be desired. It was cold in Venice during my stay but the water temperature for the shower was never hot, so that was probably the most difficult aspect.
I still thought it was a good value considering the price. Staying in Venice is expensive but this hotel is right around the corner from a bus stop that takes you right to the city.
- jesse (4/5): THIS PLACE IS DISAPOINTING LIKE OLD KENT RD - This place is definitely cheap and the place is semi clean.. But I wouldn't advise for anyone to stay there.. There is a very cheap and bad property in the game of monopoly call old Kent rd .. That is exactly what this hotel is like cheap and crap .. They kept turning the heating off in the hotel so it was just constantly cold .. Also only giving us 1 small sheet.. The room was also nothing like the pictures.. We payed for a double bed and got 2 single beds pushed together with a dirty sheet with big white stains on it .. Also the wifi never worked and the shared bathroom was horrible the clip on the wall for the shower head was non exsistane so it made it difficult to shower .. Thus making the bathroom floor constantly wet with Big puddles going into the hallway.. also the hotel reception is never open.. You alway have to call the phone number on the wall to get though to someone .. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL
- Isaiah (8/5): Nice hotel for travelers - The hotel is located in a good location. The bus and train station is a short 15 minute walk. There are multiple grocery stores around the block and a well equipped laundry mat. The staff spoke very English very well. They answered any question I needed. The bathroom was not in the room. I read that from a previous review so it was not a surprise.
This place is great for budget conscious travelers. I would not recommend it for high maintenance travelers.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - My bed was comprised of two smaller beds laid side by side so I ended up trying to avoid sleeping in the crack between them the entire night.
- Alyssa (8/5): Good 1-star hotel - Quite nice for a 1-star hotel. The staff was friendly and the rooms were comfortable. The location was close to the train station in Mestre, making it very easy to get in and very easy to get into Venice.
- natasha (8/5): Good location and good value - Great for travelling in and out of Venice quickly without paying the high prices. Room was basic but what we expected for the price. Staff were knowledgable and friendly. Only criticism is the fan which did not seem to make any difference (but it was 39c in the day which is unusually hot!). Would recommend to those on a budget.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not in the summer! - We went during a heat wave, in July. It was 35*C outside at night and it was LITERALLY warmer inside than out. I actually contemplated sleeping on the floor of the shared bathroom. It was so hot we felt sick, and had to change. In another season when the climate is cooler, this would likely be a good place to stay. It was decent, clean, affordable, staff was helpful.
- Verified traveler (4/5): a one night staying hotel - it was hard to find the hotel, no lift which made it difficult for us to carry luggages all the way up to the 3nd floor. Some staff were helpful in explaining about the transportation around Venice. It was really hot in July and there was only a fan in the room.
- Joshua (8/5): - Everything was great. Only downfall was the WiFi was spotty if we got any.
- Lucy (2/5): Do not Book - The only good thing about the room was it had wifi. Other than that, it looked nothing like the pictures on the ad. The sheets looked like they were over 30 years old, it was not a blanket, but rather a light polyester quilt. Also, there was a shared bathroom with the other rooms on the floor. The restroom did not have any amenities: no shampoo/conditioner, or soap. This is definitely NOT a hotel, should be renamed as a hostel, but I have seen hostels in better shape than this.
Oh, and we found a spider on our bed.
It was just an awful experience.
- David (8/5): Good value for money and friendly service - Live wires hanging from the wall, lights at first not working, shared bathroom where me and my fiancee got locked in... Still, I regard this value for money in Venice for anyone with a car. We got to stay parked the day following check out. The hotel which is situated in an apartment building is simple but functional
- Verified traveler (6/5): old and odd - Strange smell in the room. Incredible noise from unknown source inside the hotel early in the morning.
- Alex and Beth (8/5): Value for Money - We are travelling Europe and we came here for 4 nights because it was the cheapest place to stay. It's close to Venice Mestre station, supermarkets, dry cleaners and cheap fast-food places. The room was basic, housekeeping was everyday, the shared bathroom was cleaned everyday (thank God), towels included and safe area. There was a very popular Bar next door that was got loud however we had no problems sleeping. the only think I would say is if your looking for luxury spend more money, if you can grin and bear it enjoy. Would stay again if on a budget but wouldn't recommend to my mum!
- Marian (2/5): Terrible experience - Our room had a disgusting olor, and it wasn´t from outside, because outside was ok. One of the two bathrooms didn't even have a shower curtain, and both of them were full of hairs everywhere, on the floor, on the bath, even on the mirror.
I found a lipstick mark on the sheets of my bed.
The hostel manager wanted to charge us the towels to have a bath.
- Helen (6/5): Basic hotel, OK for a night or two - We didn't want to spend a lot on a hotel for the two days we were in Venice as we knew we'd be out and about all the time. This was the cheapest place I could find and still quite expensive but understandable considering it's Venice. We just needed somewhere for a base and this was that. It was more of a hostel really, but that was ok with us and we had expected that based on previous reviews.
The room was basic, comfy bed and clean sheets (but suspicious looking stains on the bedcover). Sharing a bathroom wasn't a problem and there was always soap and toilet paper available. The young member of staff who greeted us on arrival was friendly enough and helpful, giving us a map and telling us about the buses and places of interest - we were very grateful for this.
The bus stop is just around the corner and it took around 15 minutes to get into Venice. The hotel was a 10 minute walk from the train/coach station so very convenient for our arrival/departure.
I would be embarrassed to recommend this to a friend unless they were looking for a hostel and something very basic. However, we personally would stay here again if we were in Venice for a similar amount of time and again not planning to spend any time in the room except to sleep.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good value of money - ShajeeburRan, the front desk person, was very helpful.
