Guest Reviews
- Sidino (10/5): - I took daily walks yo the SM mall across the street. Restaurants are plentiful. The area is always well lit. The hotel staff are friendly and professional.
- Ralph (8/5): - Very convenient location. Friendly staff. A bit of street noise in some rooms. Overall, a good place to stay.
- Tyrone (10/5): - It was quiet a lot of different places to eat within walking distance, the mall for shopping. The staff was very friendly.
- lesliecF3678UH (4/5): terible e - hot water not available and was not informed about it
Area is quite busy and noise from street can be heard in the room
no local channel available and they do not provide access to any smart tv app
food was limited
no towel in room unless you ask for it
terible
- Efren (8/5): - Hotel Staffs are nice and respectful. Bathroom is old especially the shower area
- lchilcoat2000 (4/5): Average with many issues - This hotel has many issues and I guess I got many of them on my 2 night visit
Pros - bed and bedding comfortable
Pros - air conditioning was good
Cons - No Hot water for 2
Days so have cold showers. Unacceptable!
Cons -
Half the shower head worked the other one
Not work
Cons -
TV remote difficult and had to call maintenance to fix and re set
Cons - WiFi weak at best with slow download
Cons - Restaurant was way over priced as an example 2 cups of cold rice , a piece of chicken and an egg with one coffee and one orange juice 700’pesos. The
Rice amd egg cold. Further Resturant and hotel not take credit card for restaurant charges. They need to inform guests of those scenarios on check in.
Cons - had to ask for a safe for the room and they installed but it was old and batteries fell out because were being held by some tape. Consequently couldn’t open the safe after locked because the batteries fell out of holder. Frustrating at best
Cons- road noise most of the night and day as right across the street from SM Ecoland and all the jeepneys and tricycle s were
Loading people.
So my thoughts good luck 🍀 if you decide to visit here.

- Krystal Marie (6/5): 😐 - Rooms are very dim. We requested a well lighted room. Also, some toiletries not available. We asked for slippers, shower cap etc but not available. The location is good though. Property not maintained well.
- Shahani_0213 (4/5): Home for a month - Room is good its quiet spacious with dining and receiving area.
Location is accessible very close to Sm mall.
Its clean but toilet is not properly clean enough, every time i ask for room make up they never include the shower nor refill the shampoo. Water current is very slow. The electricity always on and off. Staff is okay.
Lobby is quiet smelly because no proper ventilation nor ac, and so dark at night as they always turn off the lights.
Lastly, so strange For all the hotel I’ve been, its weird that they wont let u borrow iron and iron board cause they prefer for you to take their service and pay for it.
- argiem2014 (8/5): Very Strategic - Strategic location. It is in front of SM davao. Near to almost anything you need... Friendly staff. Our room was spacious (Diamond Suite). It has a japanese resto-cart in the hotel parking area-their food is delicious. Walking distance to 7/11, bakery, more shops and food store... Average internet connection ... Staff are very attentive and alert... Kudos.
It needs deep cleaning though... The cabinet where the refrigerator, the shower cubicle..and the rubber mats..including the windows... The pillow cases also needs deep washing. 1 out of 3 TVs is working.
Overall, it is all good.
- 521maruv (10/5): Excellent Service. Good Location. - I would give two thumbs up for this hotel.
The staff are very friendly, accomodating and attentive.
Good location, just a few steps in SM Mall.
Public transport is very near the hotel.
We will defintely come back again.
Just continue the excellent service.
- alsbrew (6/5): Good location sub-par hotel. - Nice hotel with a very good location but.... I think the management have no drive to inch up or level up the quality of the hotel from food to room cleanliness.
Reasonable hotel rate because of it’s location.
- Ambassador230347 (4/5): Hotel Experience - I had a 4night stay in this hotel. Location wise, proximity to SM Ecoland and my work is excellent.
Staff and other hotel personnel are very polite.
On the housekeeping side, is where they need to step-up, i left my room 10am, returned to the room 11pm, surprised to find uncleaned and unfixed room.
They reasoned, it was noted as “refuse to make-up room” but how come, they don’t even have a signage in the door for “make-up room” or don’t disturb” sign.
My colleagues had same experience (2 pax ) uncleaned and un fixed rooms. They upgraded to bigger room, but still charged for slippers, and standard toiletries.
- ceesvb (10/5): Excellent hotel to stay - The service at the Home Crest was great. All the staff members were really very helpful and doing there utmost to make me feel at Home (Crest) .My room, a junior suite, was very comfortable. The location, right opposite the Davao City Supermall, is top.
What I also like very much is that the hotel is a member of the Zero Carbon Resorts, they provide their energy services in an efficient, cost effective, and environmentally sound way.Great breakfast and some very tasteful dishes on the a la carte menu.
- 890vincento (4/5): Needs lots of work - Stayed 2 nights over the longweekend. Only good things going for this hotel is the location across sm ecoland, and the friendly staff. Though friendly, staff were under trained. Our room, located in the old section of the hotel, was clean. Door Locks were shoddy, easily opened without a key, if not properly pulled by your own elbow grease. Air conditioning was not properly maintained, filters were filthy, causing the sensors to shut down the airconditioning midway. Poor internet connectivity in the room, despite having it’s own router. The leak in the shower hose has more water pressure than the actual shower. No hot water in the early hours of the morning. And the toilet flush does NOT work. Otherwise, it was a fun stay!
- james1919 (2/5): VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED - VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED on how they conducted their investigation and solve their problem. Honestly DON'T EVER BLAME your guests for your staff negligence in their duties. Ill give you some of the things that you don't have in your hotel.
1. No Logbook for the things that your staff received from your guests.
2. No proper endorsements of documentations for the next shift.
3. No Communications from other departments concerned.
4. And YOUR MANAGEMENT NO PRESENCE OF MIND and SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY. Remember when you receive something or anything from your guests it is already your responsibility as you acknowledge it.
From the time we check in almost 2am you gave us already a wrong room and the time we check out you damage our packages.
- kibbutznik_9 (8/5): good friendly hotel - good friendly hotel, well positioned near 7-11, spas and opposite sm mall and starbucks. room had good ac and facilities and good coffee in cafe. i was there just one night on business trip. quite good value
- Verified traveler (6/5): - toilet was leaking, not corrected.
charge for use of hair dryer,
- Raffi (4/5): - No face towel. The towels look old. Breakfast items were short a lot of times.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Last Minute Save!!! - A large group of us travelled to Davao for a wedding and found the Air BnB we reserved a bit disappointing. Home Crest Hotel was able to accommodate us with great rooms in one of the busiest seasons!! So grateful for the assistance. Rooms were well appointed, clean, modern, and met all our needs.
- binggoym (8/5): Business Hotel - Located across a mall you get access to shops and restaurants and Starbucks. The rooms are clean and the breakfast is decent. You can also have small meetings there.
A 7-11 is a few steps away. This no frills hotel is perfect for business travelers in Davao.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Most terrible hotel - Our guests wrote a comment on Tripadvisor this it one of the worst hotel we have stayed in a long time. Truly not worth the money paid and didn't provide any comfort for a basic hotel
- woutergerardusp (2/5): My worst experience - I rarely write reviews. As a hotelier I am probably to critical, however when exceptionally good or horribly bad, I write a review. This property is the worst I stayed in since a long time. I think that the positive reviews are from friends or paid for.
It is practically impossible anybody gives a positive review looking at the price and performance.
The bed was way to soft, no proper amenities in the room, a bathroom of around 2,5 m2, the mirror too low, some stupid handing lamp blocking the mirror.
The breakfast is served inclusive of a fly in the coffee and lipstick on the cup. The choice was very limited and bad quality.
This property is > PhP 3,500 that's about 2,500 too much.
- Henry (2/5): - Too Many Moskito inside room, My neck and foot was swell by Moskito bite, and they do not provide remote controller for TV, you have to turn on and off by push button(they said it is management policy) their breakfast was terrible, they only provide fish, Scramble Egg .. No Ham. No bacon etc.. I will not go back this hotel
- 783DavidM783 (2/5): Extortion - not for foreigner - Hotel seemed fine at first, I realized a small mark on the sheet which is expected with these small hotels.
At checkout the hotel claimed that the sheets were spoilt and wanted money. After a lot of debate we settled as we had to checkout.
I don’t recommend this hotel, their extortion tricks are well known.
- kwentuhero (8/5): Excellent breakfast, modern amenities - This hotel is very close to SM City. We arrived at night, the reception at dim light, and the staffs were humbly assisted us.
The room is small but its amenities are new and modernized. The room key is not only for room but also used in operating the elevator. The complimentary buffet breakfast was excellent. However, they asked us a payment for my 5 year old son who hardly finished a small amount of rice and egg.
The hotel has left luggage room with a tag on each bag. So we felt safe for our baggage even we already checked out. Our stay was wonderful!
- lucyrainbow (6/5): Good - The room was spotless , breakfasts were of a higher standard than normal . Only one small drawback I couldn’t shut my window ( no security issues) and neither could the staff. Wasn’t a big deal as there were no mossies
- tom (2/5): “Close Your Jotel” - i wont recommend this hotel
1) poor airconditioning
2) poor room service., upu have to tell them to clean the room and they never changed the use toiletries
3) their chef does not know how to cook... i was ordering a a overhard egg he made me a hard noiled egg... i asked him if know how to do a overhard egg and just look at me
4) when i was checking out they were charging me gor their keaky shower faucet
5) yheir electrical switches arr unscrewed and keep falling of which is unsafe
- Verified traveler (8/5): Home Crest is the best - Michael, the hotel assistant was very helpful and full of energy
- Steveatv (10/5): Excellant Stay - I highly recommend this hotel during your visit to Davao city, the staff where friendly, in particular one of the Security Officers Zafra and Maila at reception. The staff in general where very helpful and pleasant.
The rooms where clean and the breakfast was excellent. Overall an excellent stay..thank you..and close to SM City....
- MarysorB (8/5): Very Good - I stayed here for my remote job since they have included wifi inside the room....the bed was clean not so big but comfy....the bathroom was also clean and spacious....the breakfast was really good as for me love to it rice and tapa....friendly staff and its really near to the SM mall...so convenient if you will not like the food they serve.... i definitely will stay again.... happy customer...😊
- WorldTravelerPH (10/5): Clean and Cozy Stay - I was told the wing I was in, is the renovated one. The room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The location was convenient as it is fronting SM Ecoland Mall and is a walking distance to the seaside restaurants. I would definitely stay here when Ii return!
- Sam (6/5): OK hotel - Staff are very niCe but facilities are just so so, even though with nice looking. Notice rats running around on the back of hotel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I thought the hotel was great for a short stay. It's located right across an SM so super convenient. The ambiance was nice, the room was fairly comfortable.
However, walls are a bit thin, so you can hear your next door neighbors quite clearly. Also, bathroom floor tiles were marble but shouldn't floor tiles be the non-slippery, non-skid type? Especially for the bathrooms.
Except for the two points raised, this hotel is pretty good!
- AlbertodelaPaz (8/5): Well-Managed, Clean and Conveniently Located - I took a chance with this hotel since it was very close to my ancestral Home in Davao City. Booking early allowed me to avail of a fairly large discount on their published price. I stay at Home Crest for 7 nights and every night was great. The bed and pillows were perfect. It could have had a better view - but you can't have it all.
This hotel is very new (only about a year old). It so happens that the supervisor of the hotel was a descendant of someone our family knew of. When my sister and I were having breakfast at their coffee shop, she introduce herself as being the grand-daughter of this person whom we affectionately called Manang Ga-re. For us - that was a bonus. She knew how to do her job having worked on Cruise ships for 9 years. Customer service was her middle name.
The buffet breakfast that comes along with your booking was very good - not as luxurious as other more expensive hotels - but nonetheless - very satisfying.
If they had a larger parking area - that would have been another star.
What I liked with Home Crest was that it was walking distance from SM - Ecoland. Shopping and then dropping things at the hotel was so convenient.
I would highly recommend this place and would be staying there again in the future.
- Roy (10/5): Nice, modern hotel with comfort - We enjoy our stay at the hotel. We like it so much we extended our stay here. It is short walking distance from restaurants and shopping. Our overall experience is great.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Decent place to stay for DFA appointment - it was okay, decent enough for business or DFA appointment. Staffs were friendly.
The downside: WiFi access replaced daily and card key will have to be re-activated daily too. No refrigerator, no complimentary coffee in-room for Standard room.
- Verified traveler (2/5): wanabee quality hotel - Musty smells in lobby, elevator and hallway to room, 2 small towels that are like a pair of old rags, breakfast was awful
- Rossana (8/5): To see is to believe - Great!the staff are all accomodating.keep up the good work guys.see you soon
- Verified traveler (4/5): - convenient to malls..but housekeeping very poor..all soap and shampoo dispenser spoil, never refill and dirty got mosquitos inside the dispenser.
- James (6/5): Safe hotel with friendly service. - Staff our friendly but for some reason the check-in process is slow and cumbersome. The rooms are clean and adequate. The included breakfast was small and not that great when compared to North American standards. The hotel is conveniently located right across from a large mall if you like shopping.
- Verified traveler (8/5): No complaints - Convenient, close to the mall, good rates, nice staff, breakfast was good.
- Kris (6/5): Terrible Wifi and uncomfortably soft beds - South Side of Davao doesn't have much in the way of hotels. This is the best of a bad bunch
