Guest Reviews
- Silvarani (1/5): You only see old bad maintained buildings from the room. Booking com charges are very, very expensive and I will never b - NOTHING The whole stay is not worth the money RM967. Hotel surroundings VERY BAD. The room is very outdated for the price we paid.
- Ronald (3/5): Definitely not value for money and very old facilities. - How close to Genting Casino Very old property with many maintenance problems. USB ports in bedroom all broken. Very old building
- scameta (2/5): Smoke, Noise, and Slow Wi-Fi — A Disappointing Stay - I had high expectations for my first stay at the Highlands Hotel, assuming it would be an upgrade from the Resort Hotel, but unfortunately, the experience fell short.
Upon arrival, I was assigned a non-smoking room that had a strong cigarette smoke smell, particularly in the bathroom. It was quite overwhelming and disappointing. To the hotel’s credit, the staff handled the situation professionally and promptly arranged a room change. The replacement room was much more comfortable and offered a pleasant mountain view.
However, the following morning, my rest was disrupted by loud drilling and hammering noises starting around 11 a.m., likely due to renovation work. The noise persisted for several hours, making it difficult to relax after a late night. In addition, the Wi-Fi connection throughout the stay was very slow and inconsistent, which added further frustration.
Having visited Genting Highlands for over a decade with consistently positive experiences, this stay was particularly disappointing. While I appreciate the helpful staff, improvements in room maintenance, renovation management, and internet quality would greatly enhance the overall guest experience.
- CHRISTINA (1/5): Poor customer service - Nothing The reception staff by the name of Mazlan was more interested to chat with a colleague instead of attending to me during check in
- 842kt (10/5): Helpful desk staff - Room wifi not working. Contacted reception to inform them the problem. Ms Pavi responded by getting IT guy to resolve. Unsuccessful, she arranged a portable wifi so that I could finish my planned work. Great support.
- Ashwani (1/5): The front staff was arrogant and talks like police station in India. Did not allowed my wife to go to room until I come - None Behaviour of the front staff

- Ashwani (1/5): I am 65 years old and travelled all the world and have never been to this kind of behaviour with hotel - Nothing The services at the hotel are horrible. I am staying since 2/2/26 and have to go to reception to get my key updated most of times as it does not work in system. Today’s incident was most disturbing as my wife went to hotel was refused entry and asked me to come to reception and get it verified. From 2/2/26 4 times they verified both of us and checked our passports everyone. As I was not available they were not allowing her entry. When I told the reception on phone that you please get it in writing about the refusal and I will handle through my legal team. Then after that they at least allowed entry on temporary basis till I reach the hotel to get the re verification done.
After paying such a big money you are treated like that.

- Climber596259 (10/5): Casino hotel guest best to avoid Shermaine reception for unlucky vibe. Rest all are good! - Sorry but to say service has to be changed to 1 star due to the receptionist, Shermaine. Very rude front desk and very not professional reply from the staff. Rejected to give me her name when I asked for it. Assumed I wanted to complain her as she didn’t want to duplicate room card key and asked if I want to complain her so I asked for it. Hotel should really look into this matter happened in Jan 2026. As a casino hotel, this service is bringing unlucky vibe to guests and as a 5 stars hotel, this attitude worth a budget hotel standard. Very much need customer service training.
One of the better hotels in genting. Location is near to casino but a fair bit of distance to skyworld. Lately has 24 hours shuttle service to first world and room service available so it’s a plus point. Also has a few 24 hours eateries right below the hotel.
Room itself has a decent size. Personally like the view facing carpark else view facing greenery is great during the day. Room is prettt well maintained with bath tub in selected rooms. Room is kept clean and bed are more comfy than the hotel beside (my pov).
Housekeeping staff are forever nice and friendly as I stayed here quite a number of times. For receptionist not too bad, but early check in is really subject to luck despite rooms sometimes are still available (likely reserved for casino guests). Like the WhatsApp butler communication which bring much convenience.
Do take note their wifi is pretty unstable specially rooms nearer to the ends. Apart from this, it’s has always been pleasant and great stay.
- YUN KHENG (7/5): Overall pleasant. - The location was excellent. No air conditioning.

- sugan amenable (10/5): Super - Nice Very good
- travelsFB (6/5): Average hotel. Good service. Genting website terrible for hotel bookings. - LOCATION: Linked to SkyAvenue shops/restaurants and theme parks, albeit a tricky route to navigate for first timers.
APPEARANCE: Nothing fancy. Clean. Well maintained. Busy, cramped foyer.
ROOM (Stayed in a premier room): Basic furnishing. Clean. Neat, Well maintained. Average size room. Spacious bathroom. Ample amenities. Peaceful comfortable sleep. Expected a better view from the room.
SERVICE: Good
DINING: Non-existent at hotel as far as I am aware (or just not pointed out at check-in).
ACTIVITIES/FACILITIES: Nothing of note at hotel itself. Close enough to Genting attractions.
MY BOOKING AGENT: Hotel (Genting) website - terrible and not user-friendly. Shows no availability until close to the time. I tried to book Genting Grand but only became available after I made this non-refundable prepaid reservation. No response to emails either.
Will I recommend/stay there again? Probably not.
- Chun Hua (10/5): Excellent. - Good choice of selection and food are always topped up. nothing
- PEIGHEE (8/5): -
- Lailatul Shahreen (10/5): -
- Mohd (10/5): All nice and easy access to tamarind square. - The host really helpfull.
- Gaurav (6/5): - Very poor check in experience
Have to travel far to get breakfast
- Praveen (10/5): - Location was excellent, all shopping mall was interconnected and restaurants were conveniently located.
Breakfast was ok and should consider more variety. Cable car was not operational for the entire of our stay due to maintenance.
- Farhan (6/5): -

- DayTrip16964841947 (6/5): bad reception staff - we checked in at 4 pm on 11th july
The hotel is good but the checkin staff was extremely slow. when asked they said we are all new and the previous staff all left their job. one of there staff a middle aged fat women who looked to be there manager was extremely rude to me. when i told her that she should not be so rude to customers she shouted back and said you can complain to whomsoever you want. i dont care.
- Nasser (9/5): This hotel is good for couples and prices is higher than value expectations - Location is amazing and hotel in big mall room is quite and clean Room charging was very expensive although I have to pay for continental breakfast
- Chee Kheong (7/5): Still acceptable. - Location. The room can’t not add extra bed except suite room which didn’t inform during booking.
- Mohamad (6/5): Pleasant - Not good and quite far breakfast Need services to be improved as per 4 stars and room qualitu
- 165josephinet (10/5): Cosy stay - Spacious room. Housekeeping everyday. There is a bathtub as well.
This place is away fr the crowd in first world and very accessible to Sky Avenue either bu shuttle bus or simply walk.
There are multiple 24 hours cafeterias ard so food is not a problem.
If need to improve will be the rooms slippers. 2 pairs but one pair slightly smaller.
Also the toilet area too close to the door.
- Seng (9/5): Great weekend getaway. Hotel is good. Value for money. -
- Vipul (8/5): Very good -
- TravellingJerz (8/5): Premium Comfort, Slightly Aged Charm - Highlands Hotel remains one of the better accommodation options within Resorts World Genting. While its premium pricing may raise questions about overall value, the stay itself was comfortable and pleasant.
The property does show slight signs of aging, but it still maintains a standard of quality consistent with its reputation. A standout detail was the Nobility-branded toiletries—an elegant touch—though the packaging could benefit from a more refined presentation to match the upscale feel.
Overall, a solid choice for those seeking comfort and convenience in Genting, though there's room for subtle enhancements to elevate the experience further.
- 165josephinet (8/5): Good stay - Got a smoking room and the air circulation is great! No smoke smell cos there is some kind of air filter in the room.
Room was cosy and quiet.
V near old casino and the gold club.
There are a few 24 hr food joints near the lobby.
The van service to sky casino was much appreciated.

- Odyssey63864774486 (10/5): Good to stay. - Good to stay. Easy to check in and hotel lobby have machine easy to do simple self-kiosk check in and check out. Room good and clean, have provide the coffee machine and capsule for stay time. Hotel also have provide the shuttle bus/van to transfer guest if you want to first world there. Downstairs have many restaurants, theme park ans casino also easy to walk thru there within 5 minutes.

- Wayne (10/5): Special couple of nights at Genting Highlands hotel - We arrived late and was told that we had been upgraded, little did I know to the most amazing room with all the bells and whistles, absolutely amazing with our own shower that turns into a steam room in 10 min,. We also got a welcome teddy and fruit 🍓🍑 plater that was replenished the next day, I just wish we were staying for longer, the service and staff were the best I have experienced in a very long time.if you are staying in Genting Highlands this is probably one of the best.great comfortable bed and coffee making facilities etc etc There was nothing that was wrong
- Goo (8/5): Very good - Buffet at Genting grand…
- Stella (7/5): Good -
- Worachat (7/5): Good -
- Bernice (9/5): Superb -
- Chris (10/5): Amazing scenery and Location - Great Hotel a great location with everything you could ever want close at hand... Amusement parks, shops, shops, and more shops, as well as endless food outlets.
The scenery was amazing at that altitude Communication with this Hotel having sent messages and emails before our stay was non-existent.
- Dean (1/5): Rude staff, long walk to get there, no breakfast included as refurb on floor 16 - Bed and shower Hotel is a good 20 min walk away from the main mall and casino. The way there is not signposted until you are literally 1 minute away from it and the maze like structure you have to go through is over 2000 steps each time.
Breakfast floor is under reconstruction and despite breakfast being paid for in the booking you don't get it.
Staff are unaware the floor is under refurbishment and all we got told was we have to pay for another breakfast in another hotel if we want to eat. Disgusting from a 5 star.

- Dexter (7/5): May consider to stay there again - Clean and convenient No place for bfast. Had to walk far.
- May (4/5): Disappointing -
- Meei (7/5): Need to Improve in SoundProof a Shared Wall for Hotel rooms - My child likes the bed. Poor soundproof a shared wall between the hotel rooms. We were awaken middle of the night and wee hour around 3am+ during our stay, this was due to the water sound that came from the next hotel room who were probably taking shower at that time. The water noise was too loud and distracted our sleep.
- Ng (9/5): Superb -
- Ng (8/5): Very good -
- Florence (6/5): Too noisy as its next to the main road - Services Too close to the main road. Too noisy especially at night
- Robert (9/5): Superb -
- Eng (9/5): Wonderful experience - The quietness of the hotel. Stay at high level. Very easy to check out. Provide free wifi.
- Arsieimm (1/5): The worst hotel and a complete waste of money. - Nothing. The STENCH when you walk into the lobby would put a skunk to shame. The property does not have Air conditioning. Or in room dining. Or cleanliness. The staff do not know the meaning of hospitality. Its $200 a night for a dormitory room. The sheets, the mattress, nothing is of quality. Property is OLD. When we checked in, I requested to be moved to one of the other "7000" rooms under Genting Group. They refused and said either we stay or forfeit the booking. Manager Zan was completely unhelpful and didn't even try to appease us in any sense. He gave me a couple of rude looks the following day. Utterly the worst experience I have ever had.
- Chung (7/5): If no wifi, hotel reputation will be low and no "standard" hotel - Room newly renovated and room design was good Such a backward hotel- no wifi - even a remote hotel in a poorer country have it
TV has no news channel -- no CNA- (should have it as it covers a lot of Asian counties news) and no English news channel.
- Soo (7/5): Good -
- Ashraf (5/5): Not upto mark - Spacious No aircond
Not clean
Water pressure low
Far away from theme park
- Roland (7/5): Good - Near attraction Too many people smoking - just outside the lobby
- Mohammadbeygi (10/5): It is very good if you want to spend time in highland - It was in the middle of the sky world theme park and in the middle of everything. They had self check in and check out which was the best. The room was clean. The room was very small.
- Abdul (6/5): Pleasant -
- Lucas (1/5): Bad -
- Herbalgal (8/5): RESORT HOTEL - The size of room.
The room service n conceige service. The room was moth infested.
Not cooling anymore. Should start to install aircon for hot season due to weather change.
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Samudra (2/5): Very poor - NO WIFI, NO AC. in 2024 no WIFI???? NO WIFI
- Chee (8/5): Very good -
- Brandon (6/5): Pleasant - Spacious and clean rooms. Fri and Sat nights have excessive vehicle noises coming from the roads throughout the entire night.
- Ryan (4/5): Disappointing -
- Cruiser58854741732 (6/5): Smoking in hotel area - Hotel overall is fine in terms cleanliness, staff manners and outlook. The only thing people are smoking everywhere, which includes inside the common area. That’s very terrible! Control very bad! It’s not the first seen people smoking inside this hotel. other areas also same!
- Ellen (5/5): No comfort in the room. For ppl who wish to enjoy the facility. Not recommended. - Location No facility. Poor shower condition.
- AlanC_SG (6/5): Checked in Resort Hotel at Genting - Found my way to Resort Hotel as the God of Fortune welcomes me.
My wife went to check in. I saw a poster showing shuttle bus timing between the hotels and to the bus terminal.
Then soon we took the lift up to 10th floor.
Nothing fancy. The TV was small but we didn’t use it except turning it on the first night to see what was available.
The place was mostly cold enough. There was no aircon. Not that we needed any. We turned off the fan during the stay.
There were towels in the toilet but we had to bring our own toothbrushes. Found a hairdryer which was useful to dry our clothes a bit.
- Jamie (9/5): Superb - was a very satisfied stay
comfortable and clean
organised a surprise decor for my mother's birthday
- Kenny (9/5): Superb -
- John (5/5): Okay hotel but was dissapointing as it is NOT disabled friendly at all. - Rooms were pleasent, not great, but just alright. Felt was getting a bit grotty but acceptable. Father in law was in a wheel chair. There was no wheel chair access out of the hotel. Thus if he wanted to go and see other locations ; he would need to take a taxi. Which is ridiculous. I would thought that Genting Highlands would be a lot more disable friendly. There is a walkway to the other buildings, however would need to climb a flight of stairs. I assume making a ramp wouldn't be too difficult?
- James (9/5): Superb -
- ThomasDLCF (4/5): Do NOT stay here even if it's FREE. - 1) Staff only has one stock excuse "I'm sorry, we do not provide that XXXX"
Excuse me, I have 3 rooms booked, all the same type. 2 of them have a desk chair, are you telling me by some miracle my one room is not supposed to have one?
2) Housekeep and maintenance is slipshod and shoddy at best.
Rooms, indeed the whole hotel smells musty. 1 of our 3 room doors can't lock properly.
Rooms not cleaned properly, evident dust/black mold everywhere.
3) Beds are from a bygone age with springs that have given up and not trying to even pretend to provide support.
Paying 4 Star Pricing for 2 Star quality and service.
Don't stay here, it's not worth the aggravation.
- Hock (4/5): Short start is fine - Minimalist all round A bit too far from main activities centre
- Patricia (7/5): Good -
- Patricia (7/5): Okay for family trip - Location wise is good. The smell of smoking on non smoking room..
- Wang (5/5): Passable - Nil Took very long to get the new room after paying RM5 for early check in (got the new room at 5pm+). In the booking with booking.com, we requested a double bed/queen size bed but got a room with 2 single beds instead when checking in using the check-in kiosk. Better to check in at the reception to request for the bed type than using the check-in kiosk which doesn't allow us to select the room type (though there was a staff standing next to the kiosk to assist with the check-in and we did ask for the room type to him).
Basic toiletries provided: hand-wash, 2 in 1 shampoo and shower wash, toothbrush and toothpaste. It will be good to provide shower cab and sanitary bag for ladies to use.
- Wang (6/5): Pleasant - Spacious room, prompt housekeeping and a lady manager came to ask if her staff had make up our room. We had the top floor and a good view of the outdoor theme park. The staff at the check in kiosk didn't explain clearly on the early check on process. When we did the check in at the kiosk, it didn't assigned the room based on the bed type we requested during booking. We had to wait till 5pm+ to get the room with the bed type after paying RM5 for early check in.
Buffet is at First World Hotel which is a far walk. Selection of food at the Food Factory (buffet) was limited and not nice.
- pier3762015 (10/5): Warm hospitality - Warm hospitality received from the receptionist Ms Nadia upon my early arrival. She made an effort to fulfil my room preference and my stay was enjoyable. I would like to extend my appreciation to Ms Rajes, a friendly staff, for her kind initiative & guidance during my check-in/out as well. Looking forward to stay in the hotel once again.
- paullim2016 (6/5): Room needs some minor works - Compared to First World Hotel and Resort Hotel, Highland Hotel appears to be a better hotel. It provided free wifi in the room (Resort Hotel provides wifi only at the lobby while First World Hotel does not have free wifi). It also has a coffee machine and better toiletries. However, the room which we were given is a little dated and is in need of some repairs. The floor to the bathroom is slightly damaged and the door to the bathroom does not close properly. The rain shower, though in working condition, has some defects. The hot water takes about half a minute to get warm. The room does have an air conditioner (the other 2 hotels do not have).
In terms of location there are lots of eateries near the hotel which is good.
Service wise, staff is polite but due to a particular incident we felt that they do not provide the necessary support beyond the basic needs. On the last day of our 3-night stay, the wifi is not working. We called the general line and was told that they will send a housekeeping staff to take a look. We explained that we have been able to use the wifi on our iPhones and iPads the last 2 days but are having problems connecting to the wifi on the 3rd day. 2 of the staff came and tried to help fix this by checking 2 of our iPhones, looking at settings etc. this did not fix the problem. I reiterated that it is unlikely due to our iPhones or iPads as we have been able to connect to the wifi. They went back to seek further help. While I was in a meeting much later, a staff called to update on the wifi situation but as I was in a meeting I can only speak to them later. After the meeting I called the general line and ask to speak to the housekeeping staff but they said they are unable to connect me to them as their telephone system is unable to ,link, to housekeeping. The staff said that they will get the relevant person to call me but as I was going out I requested that they can just leave a note in the room if needed. Instead I was asked to call back when I am back in the room so that they can get the relevant person to call me. They cited the reason that they cannot get into the room, which is surprising since housekeeping has always been able to get into the room so long they is no DO NOT DISTURB sign is turned on. In an case, the staff managed to contact me just before I left the room and infrormed me that their IT staff advised that I may want to check the settings on my iPhones. I expressed surprised that if I have been able t access the wifi for the last 2 days it should not due to the settings on my iPhones but should be due to their wifi issues. Eventually I told them it’s fine since I can use my data plan on one of my iPhones (which is what I did when I was attending the meeting in the room earlier). This incident points to the lack of due service of the staff or due to miscommunication between their departments (housingkeeping / IT) with regard to the information I have provided. It does gives an impression that ‘due service beyond merely providing a room’ is not one of their objectives.
If one is not bothered with services, Highland Hotel in Genting is considered a reasonably good stay.
- Yellowbeartravels (2/5): Don’t stay here unless it is free or you just want to gamble - The room is not very pleasant, there is a musty smell from the corridor all the way to room, even the kid says so. There is litter on the floor. Room looks dated. The mattress spring is really spoilt. The bedsheets are not put properly as a hotel should. The hair dryer is hidden under the table top and plug hidden on another compartment, the operator should advise over the phone instead of getting housekeeping over. The fridge was faulty. Hmmmm this is not very welcoming for a supposedly good hotel.
- Yen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cherlynn (7/5): Good -
- Tan (8/5): Very good -
- Wee (6/5): Pleasant - Checking in staff in receptionist should listen carefully to what customer is requesting. Mistake is made while checking in hotel.
