Linda (10/5): En fin och avslappnande semester rakt på stranden. - Det var ett otroligt gulligt hotell men personlig touch. Personalen var otroligt hjälpsam och vänlig. Hotellet hade det lilla extra vi trivdes väldigt bra. Frukosten var god men enformig för oss som bodde där i tio dagar. Om man ber om exempelvis smör och ost så får man det. På buffén fanns kaffe, juice, yoghurt, vitt bröd och varianter av varmt tillbehör exempelvis morötter och zucchini eller potatis och korv. På Ala carte kan man beställa olika typer av ägg, tunna pannkakor och korv.

Nicolas (8/5): Superbe hôtel - L’emplacement est super, entre vie local et pied dans l’océan. Le personnel est aux petits soins. La responsable a l’accueil est un pilier dans le séjour afin que tous le monde soient biens. Nous avons été une première fois mal placé (chambre collé a la cuisine/restaurant) donc très bruyante et la dame de l’accueil a directement réagit et changé de chambre. Celle ci est très réactive au moindre de nos souci. Je ne conseil donc pas du tout cette chambre mais sinon toutes les autres sont superbes
Assia (7/5): Bon cadre mais hôtel moyen - Le restaurant de l’hôtel était bon. Petit-déjeuner était bon aussi. La plage devant l’hôtel est calme, il n’y a pas beaucoup de monde. La vue est incroyable. La piscine est agréable. Assez déçue de l’hôtel, la chambre n’était pas très grande et le lit une place était cassé. Le personnel a pu le réparer mais c’est dommage que ça n’ait pas été vérifié avant alors que c’était flagrant même à l’œil. La chambre était très mal insonorisée. On entendait tous les bruits de l’extérieur, on a mal dormi. Personnel ok mais pas incroyable.

marco (10/5): Alba impagabile dalla camera - Camera davanti all’ alba mattutina nell’oceano indiano non ha paragoni. Posto meraviglioso e tranquillo. Staff disponibile e gentile. Segnalato un piccolo problema al WC in reception e dopo pochissimo tempo sono intervenuti sistemandolo. Camere da rivedere perché non recenti ma ripagato con la vista ed uscire con il mare a pochi passi. Doccia enorme e acqua calda. Cibo buono anche se non tantissime scelte con mezza pensione se uno ci deve stare tanti giorni. Pulizia perfetta anche in esterno.

Personnel au top très accueillant et arrangeant, notre avion était a 3h du matin, nous avions un check out a 11h30 nous avons pu garder la chambre jusqu'à 20h sans supplement. Merci encore. Loin d’un 4 étoiles. Équipements vieux, odeur d'humidité, fissure sur les murs/plafonds, manque d'éclairage, WC qui évacue très mal, salle de bain pas en bon état/vétuste (douche/WC rouillés).

Fanja (9/5): Juste parfait ! - Le Sea View Lodge est juste "parfait" ! - Le cadre est magnifique, depuis la réception bien décorée au style local authentique, en passant par la cour avec piscine devant les bungalows, jusqu'au restau avec vue directe sur la mer... absolument parfait ! - Les bungalows sont spacieux, et confortables à souhait: grands lits, espaces bien pensés, douches efficaces, parfums d'ambiance, frigo, étagères de rangement, rien à redire - Le petit déjeuner est extra, un vrai buffet ce qui n'est pas le cas de tous les hôtels. Des oeufs à volonté, des crêpes, des légumes, des yaourts, des corn flakes, des jus, des fruits, des sauces en tout genre, des biscuits. Génial ! Quasiment rien. S'il faut dire quelque chose, ce serait la piscine, un trop surchargée en chlore
Federico (8/5): Mare fantastico - Le camere vista spiaggia andrebbero un poco risistemate, tutto il personale sempre molto gentile, abbiamo molto apprezzato che ci abbiate lasciato una camera fino a sera dato che avevamo il volo aereo molto tardi la notte Gli alloggi vista mare si vede che sono un pò vetusti e andrebbero restaurati.
Oshrat (7/5): טובה אך לא חושבת שנחזור - היינו עם ילדה, הבריכה לא מגודרת ועמוקה מאוד. לי זה היה משמעותי כי החדרים ממש עם הבריכה. הצוות היה שירותי מאוד והמיקום של המלון מעלף לכיוון הים. אין אופציות לבילוי בערב כך ברגע שמחשיך נשארים רק במלון. ארוחת ערב הייתה טובה הבריכה לא הייתה מגודרת וזה משמעותי עם הילדים. החדר היה עם ריח לא טוב, של עץ ישן.
H. Gresser (4/5): Schöner Schein - mehr aber nicht - Die Lage am Strand und der Blick aus dem Starndbungalow waren einzigartig. Die Anlage selber sah auch sehr schön und gepflegt aus. Das Personal war (bis auf eine Ausnahme) super nett und freundlich. Unser Strandbungalow hat sehr modrig gerochen. Ich meine auch die Matratze, mein Partner hat dies aber nicht so empfunden. Außerdem war sehr viel Schimmel im Zimmer und durch den Regen die Decke schon rissig und gewölbt, sodass man Angst hatte, dass sie einstürzen würde. Draußen hat es leider immer wieder sehr stark nach Kanalisation gerochen. Da weiß ich aber nicht, ob es vom Hotel ausging oder es an Jambiani lag. Aufjeden Fall teilweise kaum auszuhalten. Das Restaurant war eine sehr große Enttäuschung. Mehr als Pizza, Pasta und Burger konnten wir fast nicht bestellen. Wir hatten Halbpension und eine ganz andere Karte als alle anderen. In diesem Restaurant habe ich mir auch den Margen verdorben. Getränke haben wir uns danach lieber in Minimarkt ein paar Meter entfernt geholt. Alles im allem war der Aufenthalt mehr als enttäuschend und ich würde das Hotel nicht weiterempfehlen.

Anita (6/5): Pleasant - The location of the hotel is perfect if you're looking to relax in a quiet and peaceful area. It's a great place to unwind away from the crowds. While there aren't many restaurants or shops nearby, that wasn't an issue for us—we appreciated the tranquility. The beach is absolutely beautiful and added to the overall relaxing atmosphere. Unfortunately, our experience at this hotel was quite disappointing. The property is very outdated, with visible damp patches on the walls and decor that hasn't been refreshed in years. Even with regular cleaning, the place still looked and felt dirty. The swimming pool was poorly maintained and not very clean. The restaurant was especially unpleasant. Tablecloths weren’t changed for days, and the laminated menu cards were sticky and clearly never cleaned—unhygienic and off-putting. The menu never changed, so if you're staying more than a couple of days, be prepared for repetitive options. Worse still, the food was nearly inedible and lacked any real flavor. Breakfast was limited and low-quality, with no buffet and juice that tasted artificial and nothing like fresh juice. Service was another major issue. Waiting times for food could be up to 1.5 hours, and often we didn’t receive what we ordered. The “Hakuna Matata” attitude might be part of the island charm elsewhere, but here it came off as disorganized and careless. Even though we had paid for dinner at the hotel, we ended up going out to eat elsewhere. There’s also no entertainment provided, unlike many other hotels on the island that regularly host live music or performances. The bar area was dead quiet shortly after dinner, with no proper bar service and no seating area to enjoy a drink. Once the meal was over, there was simply nothing to do. Overall, the hotel lacked atmosphere, comfort, and basic hospitality. It fell far short of our expectations and we wouldn’t return unless serious improvements are made.

The scenery was stunning having breakfast and looking out to sea, the dinners were very reasonable, cheap and lovely, me and my girlfriend Enjoyed ourselves very much and I hope to return at some point, thanks again to all the staff that took care of us, (we loved the cats) the hotel was very authentic in it’s architecture and being situated in the village meant we got to explore the local lifestyle/shops and overall ambience. Perfect if you’re looking for a relaxed vibe, it felt personal, like the staff understood us and our preferences.

Wojciech (7/5): Good - Location is great, staff is great Swimming pool needs some maintenance. Some bug was eating wooden part of my bed. After a week some strange smell was emmited inside my bungalow, imo related to humidity at the time of my stay. Sometimes I felt that this place lacked a caring host.

Really close by sea, but very ready to get called every time by people who tries to sell you things (but blame them isn’t appropriate neither regarding the location of the touristic accommodations) Not sure that in high season , it’s easy to park Nice to have a view on sea , but the beach is not the best part for enjoying .(it’s a detail) Hot water was salted water , wasn’t a problem for us but make sure you been prepared for 😉

James (10/5): Very relaxing waterfront beach hotel. - Lovely staff and the hotel is right on the beach. Wonderful to jog along the endless beach each morning at sunrise. Lots of interesting fishing boats and safe for swimming. Impossible to get out of your depth in the sea as you can always stand up in the water. The high winds here are a bonus as you need them to keep you cool in the roasting heat. Like at another hotel we stayed at in Zanzibar, the room safe was not bolted into the wall. Easy enough to get it bolted in, and then it would be safe to leave valuables in. However, everyone seems very honest in this location so this was no problem really.

It's very clean and you are never more than 10 steps from the beach, the pool, the restaurant or your room. The staff is very welcoming and hospitable. We spent four nights and were sorry to leave.
watchmanw2025 (2/5): Avoid by all means - Unless you have never ever travel this hotel is the worth I ve ever experience with my family. See my pictures. It's a total.joke not saying something else to stay polite. There is no care in this hotel. Its abandoned. I only notice something good. The pancake in the morning are quite good. But would you pay this price for 2 3 pancake in the morning while having a terrible experience.

Ivana (6/5): Not worth it - We had a room with direct exit to the beach with our own sunbeds - which was great because there are not so many sunbeds, and this way you really are not worried that someone would occupy them. Nice view on the ocean. The lodge hotel area is actually small but it really looks cute, nicely decorated. We liked the decor a lot. Room was spacious and bathroom as well. Staff were polite and did their job. Food for lunch/dinner is ok- nothing too amazing. Very well located for activities in Jambiani/Paje. WiFi worked well for us. No music in the whole area, this is quite depressing during your stay or during dinner time, it’s just silent. No programs organised - one night 2 men came to sing and play guitar - we thought it was live music, but they sang for 10 minutes and asked for tips. So this wasn’t organised by the lodge, almost nice dining time turned into another hunt for tips. That was a pity. Breakfast is just poor - you have extremely limited buffet (eg only salad and 2 types of cereal) and from a la carte menu 4 dishes- you can only order them once, every repetition is extra. This feels really weird, haven’t seen such a policy somewhere yet. Menu for dinner is ok. Coffe is not good - 3 days without nice coffee was hard. Rooms are really poorly equipped - you only get a safe box, no fridge for water, tea or similar. No soap. Compared to other way cheaper accommodations in Zanzibar where we stayed in, this was disappointing. The lodge had a happy hour - we weren’t informed by the staff so this was really surprising to us as we spent 2 days drinking. Would have been nice to know that - we would probably drink more. The staff was kind enough to adjust our receipt, so we managed to sort it out. They were fair about it. We were told they would compensate with a nice drink during the dinner, but that didn’t happen. For us, that’s not a problem, but as a guest you feel a bit silly when you are told so, and then just let down. We didn’t know we had to pay city tax, this was not clear to us when we booked the accommodation, so we paid it at the end. This would be relatively ok, but after that we also were charged 5% on our card payment when covering the whole bill. This just felt a bit wrong for us, killed the experience. All in all, we had high hopes for this place, but not worth the money we paid.

The staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Our holiday got off to a horrible start as our luggage got stuck in Dubai but management and staff at Sea View Lodge were so helpful and made sure we had everything we needed while waiting for our luggage. Cannot wait to return!

Jonna (9/5): A lovely stay in a seaside bungalow - First of all; Jambiani is the place to stay in Zanzibar. The common areas in Sea View Lodge are well maintained and beautifully set up. It has a lovely courtyard with a small swimming pool and sun beds and every unit has its own terrace. We stayed in a sea view bungalow which was truly nice! You open your door and you see the beach and the sea! We just loved it! Plus you have sun beds in front of it. The room was ok, the comfy beds had mosquito nets and the bathroom was spacious and clean. The room has both AC and fan and both worked fine. A fridge was a plus. The room was cleaned properly every day and you get new towels and beach towels on request. Breakfast was rather good. We arrived early and got a room untill our own was ready which was really nice of them. The food in the restaurant is a waste of money, go to local restaurants. The staff is sometimes super slow. Our bedside lamp's bulb was gone so we asked somebody to change it... twice.... and when somebody finally (after a couple of hours) came, he wasn't able to make it work. So my partner did the job :D Also, all the wooden parts (flooring, window frames, door) desperately need to be repaired! The wooden floor is rotten under the fridge and the windows are ready to fall off.
Andrei (8/5): It can be a good choice. - Well, it was a really nice place, with extremely friendly service. It was spacious and clean. Good food. Good and enough breakfast. Beautiful ocean view. The oner it's really nice and warm. Well, breakfast is almost the same everyday, a small menu for dinner, but the hardest thing for us was that every day kids were banging for ..... It's hard. The location is a bit far from the action, almost no music, no TV so that you the EM watching can. Extremely quiet.
sinduv2018 (10/5): Amazing beach holiday - great location! - We spend 4 nights here at the end of our 2 week Kenya/Tanzania safari. The staff were very quick to respond to our emails and organised our airport transfer and welcomed us with smiles. We stayed in the beachfront huts no 10 and 11 which were beautiful and right on the white sandy beach. We had very good powered showers with hot water all day and sun beds right outside our huts. We booked half board. The breakfast consisted of fruit plates, and also cooked breakfast which was lovely especially with the view of the ocean and the hotel is location on the right side to be able to watch the beautiful sunrise. Many dinner options but I liked the calamari the best and it was very filling as 3 courses. During high tide the gentle waves came up close to the fence and the water was warm. During the few hours of low tide it was nice walking on the wet sand along the beach. We did this in the mornings and also after dinner. Its a public beach so there were kids hanging out by the fence in front of our hut asking for drinks and biscuits but they never came into the hotel and hotel staff seemed to be keeping an eye in the background so it all felt very safe. Was good to see the local kids and tourists play football on the beach. The hotel organised a Fishing trip for us with the locals which was a lot of fun and they cooked our catch for dinner too! The cave for swimming 20min wakk away is worth a visit and we took a drumming class there too. Also recommend taking a quick taxi drive and the short boat ride to visit the Rock restaurant! Overall we loved the place and was sad to leave. Very friendly place, beautiful location.

Caroline (10/5): - This property was PARADISE! We had the best 4 days staying here, it was hard to leave. The staff were fantastic and accomodating to our needs. This is a smaller hotel so we enjoyed the peace of admiring the beach right on our doorstep. The food at the restaurant was very good quality, we visited other hotels along the beach but still felt our hotel provided just as good of a job. I noticed many people said the breakfast was boring, we bought massive avocados just along the road from the hotel and enjoyed this with our bteakfast. I really couldn’t fault our experience
Horia-paul (10/5): Cosy and quiet place in Jambiani - The things we enjoyed most at this stay were: the cleanliness of the rooms and common spaces as well (including pool and relaxation areas), the staff, including the manager, was extremely polite and kind and willing to help with any issue (we even got a free room upgrade seing that a larger room was available), direct access to the beach, having the meals right by the beachfront. Location is excellent, in close proximity to local restaurants. We are mostly used to “continental European” breakfasts so the variety in breakfast could have been better (coffee is very diluted, not many choices in food as well). Also the wi-fi works and it doesn’t, depends on your luck (the wi-fi problem was a general situation in all the other places we’ve traveled to in Zanzibar). This would mostly consist in -1 point in the Review, but all the positives exceeded these shortcomings by far.

C3320DVsimonam (2/5): The most horrible holiday in my entire life - Ok. Where to start… maybe with something positive. Staff is always smiled. They speak English. And now the reality: The hotel is located right on the lovely beach but…. Low tides make this beach full of smelly grass. Every step you take you can meet local people who offer you coconuts, cashews, trips, sandals, scarfs, henna and they are able to follow you for hundreds of metres and when they leave, another one come! Children are hanging on of the hotel beach fence all day and beg you for money, chocolate or water pretending they are hungry or thirsty and hotel staff ignore it!!!! They all are so annoying and insistent!!! Breakfast is one big disaster. Buffet means toasts, cucumber, tomato, cereals, syrup mixed with water, still water in moldy bottle, coffee and tea. A la carte you can order eggs, sausages and pancakes. And one small plate of fruits. Every day the same! Plates are damaged and dirty. For a dinner there is a soup and the choice of two meals which are good but very small portions. There is no free water during a day and one bottle is charged for 3.500 shillings. Rooms? We were lucky with mosquito net but… sheets are smelly, leaky with a lot of orange flacks. Electricity doesn’t work for a thousand times a day which makes that air conditioning doesn’t work or doesn’t work properly so the nights become to fighting for a fresh air! Good luck with flushing the toilet and washing your hair in a shower. Nobody changes towels and sheets if you don’t ask for it even if they clean the room every day. And if maid change them, they still smell like…. WiFi doesn’t work or work very very bad! Every morning you have to fight for the sun-beds which are looking like a part of the beach apartments but it’s not true or is it? Nobody knows, hotel staff also doesn’t know… next to the hotel, LITERALLY next to the hotel there is a slum. Slum of local poor people with the mess and cattle. You can meet f.e. the goat running on the beach and poop on it… skinny sad dogs… we tried to escape from this horrible place to boat safari trip… never do it if you don’t wanna snorkel in oil water or eat horrible food and see nothing interesting…. There are just two good restaurants on the beach. Vietnamese Duyen and Italian GEO. Please, choose another place for spending your holiday and money. We have been there during the Christmas holidays and we left with bad memories and disappointed faces. If this hotel had 2 stars and costs 10$ per night it could be acceptable….

All staff was incredibly friendly and everyting we asked for was taken care of at once. The food was good and the chefs were flexible regarding my food intolerance. Bed was comfortable and AC effective. Lovely to sit on the balcony of the cottage in the afternoon and at sunset. We stayed in the cottage on the beach and the interior was somewhat outdated.

Alessandra (10/5): Honeymoon in Jambiani - A real paradise between Jambiani and Paje. Compared to the pictures, it was even more beautiful, a fantastically quiet and elegant environment. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. Breakfast and dinner were also very plentiful. It was fantastic that they came to clean every day and prepared the room for bed every night. You can rarely experience such a service even in the most prestigious 5-star hotels. The owner of the place came to us several times and asked if we were having a good time. He was extremely nice, as was everyone we met at Sew View. We are grateful to have been here! The rooms were a little narrow, and it would be nice if there was a broom and a shovel, because a lot of sand is disturbing despite the daily cleaning. It was a bit disturbing that the local children were barking at the fence of the accommodation and the staff did not pay attention to this at all. Also, the breakfast was almost the same every day (although very plentiful and delicious).

Valeska (8/5): Excellent seafront location! - We stayed in a room facing the sea, literally "foot on the sand" and sleeping and waking up to the sound of the waves is wonderful... the room is a little tight, but the bathroom is very spacious and the shower is wonderful, the best bath we had in Tanzania! The owner and staff are very attentive and always do their best to help you with whatever you need. The swimming pool is also very pleasant and a good alternative when the tide is low and you can't go to the sea. For breakfast, you had to order all the options you wanted at once (and they weren't very diverse) so sometimes we ordered more and sometimes less (if you don't order everything at once, you have to pay extra in the second order). The restaurant is also not very diverse, so if you stay more than 2 days you will have to look for alternatives in the village. The seafront location of the room we stayed in and the fact that the beach chairs were less than 2m from the room made up for it!

(Even at low tide, since it's something we've never experienced before, at least not on this level.) The manager and the staff is super friendly and welcoming, so that made our stay more special. The food is delicious (we had breakfasts and dinners there), even the variety seemed to be good for our taste. We do recommend this place if you look a cozy place at a great location. Nothing, we liked everything.

Marzena (10/5): Perfect relax and good service - The hotel complex is very small and quiet. Just the right thing to relax - no loud music, no hectic animators, no crowds of people. The view directly on the ocean, the small veranda, sand and sun lounger right in front of the door - priceless! In addition, the staff was extremely nice and accommodating - like generally the people in Tanzania / Zanzibar. The hotel has no 5 or more stars, so of course you can not expect marble bathrooms and golden taps - but the price-performance ratio is unbeatable! The water in the pool didn't seem to be very clean, there was a lot of chlorine and you could only see the bottom in the stairway entrance area. Nevertheless, I did not deduct a star here, because it is Africa and I understand, then you have to be economical with the water there and do not change it constantly. Moreover, I much prefer natural waters anyway, you could always find me in the ocean - unless it was low tide :-)
Chris (8/5): Great family bungalow in a good location - We had a lovely family bungalow for our 3 night stay and this hotel is in a good location. Donna the masseuse was excellent, and the staff were all very welcoming. The only downside was the restaurant had limited vegetarian options for our daughter and the lighting in the evening didn't make it feel cosy so we ate elsewhere. The Kuza cave is only around 20 minutes walk away and well worth a visit.

We accidentally left the painting in the lodge and Te came all the way to Pongwe and brought it back to us!!! Hands down, the best service we received in Zanzibar. Big thanks to Hawa for organising my birthday meal. Also, everyone must try a massage by Dora, she made me feel at easy and very relaxed. Water pressure wasn’t good at all, there were a massive crack in the wall which you could see through. In general, rooms need a little renovation.

Julija (10/5): A secluded quiet oasis - The hotel is like a tucked away oasis, which lots of greenery right on the beach. We had the sea view lodge - you are literally on the beach, just meters away from the sea, you can look at it also from your bed. Since there are only few rooms, the place is very peaceful and quiet. We visited in the start of June and only few rooms were occupied, we had the pool and sunbeds almost all to ourselves. You have chairs on your little porch, as well as sunbeds, all behind a wood fence, with a security person at all times. The staff is super kind and helpful. For breakfast, they served a big variety of fruits, other things were fewer, but you could still get full. Prices in the restaurant a bit higher, compared to the restaurants around. The beach is good for swimming, no sharp objects. Walking on the beach is also safe, interesting to see the low tide. Not so many beach boys, Nungwi was worse. The bathroom could use a renovation.

First of all Mauro with his expert competence, as well as Awa, Masoud and all the crew, including the chef, really made me feel at home. The room was lovely with a super comfortable bed and a nice bathroom. The pool amazing. The beach enchanting. The whole resort always nice and safe, day and night. I would strongly suggest this accommodation for couple/friends/family/even groups to enjoy a proper holiday break in Zanzibar at a reasonable cost!
martagora (10/5): An oasis! - I can say I love this place. First of all - people. Never experienced in my life such an optimistic, smiling and helpful crew. People who work at Sea View Logde create the sprit and atmosphere of this place. Secondly I really appreciate the calm and relax you can get there. There are only few rooms which make your stay very intimate. You can always find yourself a sunbed without a problem or swim in the pool on your own. No crowd, no shouting etc. Food was very tasty and always fresh. Prices in the hotel are acceptable, but obviously it’s cheaper to eat or drink in the village. Rooms are not the highest standard, but you can get the real African culture experience. It’s all compensated by the view that you see every morning you leave your room. The hotel is located right next to the ocean. If you’re looking for a calm and relaxing holidays - this is a place for you.

Good restaurant (a-la carte). Hotel cats were crawling inside the hotel :-) Slightly outdated accommodation. Water smelled in the shower. No free water available. Simple breakfast. A lot of travellers from Poland, Czechia or Slovak. Bed nets had holes but there were no insects anyway. The pool was quite deep (not good for kids).

Our bathroom had mold and the water quality was extremly bad. The whole lodge smelled humid and the electricity did not work well. This place is not well maintained. The food was not good compared to any other place we ate on the island. The bed was too short and the pillows smelled as well humid.

The pool is set in the secluded and wonderful garden (bougainville), surrounded by thatched cabanas. As the wind picks up during the day it’s wonderful to step back in the quiet garden.

After having glass of local wine, I highly recommend having a taste of the chef’s specialties. On top of that you can fall asleep in cosy, stylish and spacious bungalows. Thank you for creating a place, that allows you to turn your dream image of an ideal vacation into reality, moreover that exceeded all expectations. The easier it was to feel touched the harder it was to leave.
