Guest Reviews
- Wan Shin (8/5): - To little dining to choose.
- Q (8/5): - Hotel is a bit dated but quite OK for the price.
- Matthew (8/5): - hotel was clean, good access to food in the area
- Richard (8/5): - nice staff
- Richard (10/5): - Lovely people
- Richard (10/5): - Great staff
- Richard (10/5): - Lovely staff
- Richard (10/5): - Great Staff
- Man San (6/5): - Tower is smelly. Not clean
- Richard (10/5): - Great Staff!!
- Richard (10/5): - Staff excellent
- CarloVancouver_BC (4/5): Avoid unless you have very low standards - This hotel was the last stop of our tour of Vietnam. After staying in nice three star hotels along the way this was a disappointment. Rooms were small and not clean. Very dirty bathmats with mold on it. Peeled caulking along the bathtub, and holes in the tiles. Wallpaper was peeling. We decided to not stay and checked into a nice hotel on the Riverside. Staff was not interested or concerned.
- Jareth (8/5): - As long as you take into account that this is Vietnam, the hotel had everything and more. They always went the exta mile. So much so that we tried to stay an extra 2 days but they were fully booked. As for the price, it worked out to be £18 per night Hostel prices for mid-ish-range room. You won't be disappointed.

- Richard (8/5): - staff
- Boon Hoe (8/5): - the staffs are friendly and helpful
- Richard (10/5): - .
- Eunice (10/5): - The room was clean and had a great view of the busy street outside. But above all, the service by the staff, especially the front desk, was excellent, going ‘the extra mile’ to make my stay as comfortable as possible.
- Dennis (10/5): - Good
- Richard (8/5): - Big rooms are good, small rooms lack a chair
- Verified traveler (10/5): Cosy hotel - Checked in at 2200H, and reception is still available. That's great.
- Michael (8/5): - The lady cleaner was very nice,
Bell boy was very helpful
the morning shift receptionist was also very kind and helpful
the Night shift receptionist needs attitude adjustment
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It wos not the room that I have booked so be werey win you book with this one
- BeRaven (2/5): Do not stay here. - Had my gold necklace stolen. Manager didn't take responsibility for this. He didn't even seem to care. Stay at your own risk!
Average rooms with no windows. Bathroom sink bench had a crack in it.
Will never come back.
- cameron (4/5): Not the good hotel in the similar price range - The staff are not friendly at all. Don’t expect smile, or help.
They have breakfast included, but very limited options and everything taste horrible. I could only eat Nutella.
The basic rooms are too small and have no windows. You should upgrade to superior rooms info you want windows.
- salvy71 (4/5): Nothing great - Not a great place to stay but you get what you pay for. Wifi in room not working quite often and water pressure in shower a dribble. Staff ok . All up I'd recommend you pay a bit more and stay somewhere else. This place is in a handy location.
- Thinh (10/5): Good for budget hotel - Good boutique hotel for the price. The room and restroom is clean but it is very small
- rodney (6/5): - nice staff, great area, but hotel getting old
- randy (10/5): Great location and price. - Great location and room was nice, clean everyday. Friendly staffs and the price for 3 star hotel but considering as of 4 star. Will definitely stay again or suggest to anyone who planning to visit Ho Chị Minh city.
- 975rogerp (6/5): DECENT HOTEL - It's a very decent 3 star in the heart of Ho Chi Min sightseeing area. Breakfast not upto much but for less than 50 dollars you cannot expect too much. WiFi was OK and the staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of choice when it comes to the restaurants within walking distance. Of course there are plenty of coffee shops nearby.
- dharsy (2/5): Not safe. - Worst hotel I have ever been to. The first room that I was given was on the first floor and the window was broken in the main room. I talked to the front desk staff and they didn't apologize, they simply moved onto finding me another room. The 2nd room I was given had broken window in the washroom. The broken window lead to a stairwell which definitely did not make me feel one bit safe. The third room and final room they gave me had a Jacuzzi converted to shower, so it was very uncomfortable to shower. However, I was exhausted from a long travel and just wanted to get some rest so ended up accepting the room 3rd room they gave me since the safety issue was my primary concern and that was addressed. What made the whole experience worse is that the staff were not apologetic. I was also appalled at the fact that they were even renting out these room especially when it poses a safety issue to the customers. I will never go back here and I certainly don't recommend it.
- YerManThere (6/5): 3 star, no frills hotel - It's a 3-star hotel, so nothing special. Having said that, it was perfectly clean and the breakfasts are pretty good.
Main caution is that there is a large building being constructed directly across the street, so if your room is at the front of the hotel you'll need to pack earplugs. One of the nights that we stayed there the construction work went on nearly all night.
- TweeN_12 (6/5): No wifi - Came Ho Chi Minh for business trip and stayed here near 1 week. Room was just ok, wifi did not work at all. I complained several times to hotel staff but they just answered me that they are calling IT man to check or internet company would come to fix soon, etc. On my check-out day, wifi still hasn't been fixed yet. And as well, towels always are not set up enough as standard. They just gave me bath towels only, no face-towels or hand-towels at all.
- 517erinp (8/5): Pretty Decent - If you're super picky about your hotels then this one probably isn't for you. Our room was clean and comfortable but there is direct access to and from our room from the fire escape which was filled with dripping rubbish and the walls are kind of thin. The daily breakfast was excellent (except the milk is warm, like everywhere is Vietnam / Cambodia / Thailand). There is a no smoking policy that a fair few guests chose to ignore. The hotel staff were all lovely and helpful despite the language barrier. There is also an oil burner on every floor that makes the whole hotel smell really strongly of lemon.
- mrragdolly (6/5): Hotel rating met. - The room was comfortable and although building works went on across the road and through the night, some of our party managed a good night's sleep. Good TV and shower facility (where the hot water was) was appreciated. Breakfast was plentiful with separate fresh egg station common in so many hotels.
There is no pool although a spa is available. A bar and restaurant is advertised including Happy hour! But sampling this area proved to be a waste of energy, only beer was available. Our least favourite hotel but the price reflects you get what you pay for.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Poor Choice - You can Do BETTER else where - dont be fool by the pictures on this "boutique" hotel. Hotel services staff from reception, bell boy to cleaner was all disinterested with interacting with hotel guest. Claims to be a newly open 3 year hotel but the corridor, ceiling plaster and wall paper is all peeling off and aging rapidly due to the cheap construction. The room itself was extremely small, badly designed with odd location for power points! Breakfast provided was in another property next day which is always a "red flag" in Vietnam that the hotel is off lower quality and standard. Couldn't check out earlier as I made the mistake of re-payment upfront before inspecting these rooms :(
- terrydaisytravel (10/5): Good Experience - This hotel was nice and clean comfy bed, had no windows but not a lot of hotels in HCMC do, lovely breakfast and only a 10 minute walk to the back packer area, would recommend. However be aware the hotel sign is mayflower not Asian ruby hotel
- zuzapigeon (2/5): The worst hotel - I travel 2 months around Vietnam and I did not stay in the worse hotel before. Humidity in the room was almost 100%, aircon did not function well and there was a mold in bathroom. And you have to wait for elevator for ages.I do not recommend this hotel.
- stevewG9953WA (6/5): Central is not Boutique - This hotel has the same address as the Central but is next door and called Boutique. Within the space of 10 metres there are 3 hotels from the same chain. We booked the Asian Ruby Boutique Hotel but had breakfast next door in the Asian Ruby Central Hotel, also called the Mayflower Hotel. Confused? We were. But it works.
The Boutique is cheap and cheerful. You get a bed, we had no window in our room, and ensuite facilities. There is a fridge and a room safe, which we found handy. Toiletries are replenished every day and we had clean towels each day as well. The bedding was not changed whilst we were there, 4 nights. We were in room 202 and the floor only had 3 rooms on it. There is a lift. A few doors down there are a few places to eat, but we found the 10 minute walk to the Food Street Market enough to work up an appetite.
The staff at the hotel and in the breakfast room are very pleasant and will try to please you. English is limited but you can be understood. Breakfast was OK, noting to write home about but you have plenty of choices, fruit, eggs fried, omelettes, veggies etc.
Overall we liked the place because we could walk to just about everything.
- Kazzalm (8/5): Great hotel - I was very happy with my room, very clean, had a window and a little balcony. Fantastically comfortable bed. Some free water and fruit. Staff were great, very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was included and food was good and varied. Would stay here again.
- Penny (6/5): Ok - Our room was quite small, close enough to walk most places!
- engphile (6/5): Very average - There is nothing dramatically wrong with this hotel and the location is good. However the lighting was somewhat dim, the room, a double twin, was on the small side, the decor was tired, and the service uninspired. I'd look elsewhere.
- GillesBrnl (2/5): Worst hotel we did - We stayed here for one night and it started good. Desk was friendly and let us check in at 11am instead of 2pm. We stayed on the 8th floor and we had to wait a very long time for the (only) lift. The room was ok. Bad was dirty like it hadnt been cleaned since the previous. The real problem started at night. My girlfriend and me woke up due to Little peep noises wich continued for a while. When we turned on the light we saw a mouse on our window!! When we stood up the creature fled through a hole. When we took a closer look the window and floor was full of mousefeces. My girlfriend didnt want to Change rooms cause it was 3am and we had to get up early for a Tour. When we wanted to take a bad that morning we concluded that the water was cold and after 10min didnt warmed up a bit. We didnt wanted to say anything about it since we had 4 bags that stayed in the hotel after checkout. Wich was also a Mess. We booked it on booking and price was in dollar but when we wanted to pay in dong the hotel used their own currency exchange wich made the price a lot higher then what we booked the hotel for! Also breakfast was dissapointing. Asked twice for An egg baked on one side and got 2 other versions. Didnt bother to ask a third time. Defanitely not worth 3 stars.
- dillon022 (6/5): Could do with a make over - My biggest problem was asking for a bucket of ice ( you would think I was asking for gold
The staff was very friendly and did try to do there very but if they would like to deal with
English speaking tourist then they need to train there staff
- Lisa (4/5): Not recommended - I don't want to spend too much time commenting on it...but this is not a good address for a HCMC stay. Staff doesn't give a s*** and breakfast is so bad that we've preferred to take it from outside. Bedrooms are not so clean and the area/staff was kind of noisy. My advice: find another hotel, there are like 2000+ in this city.
- hwjungle (8/5): Nice choice - I liked this hotel very much. The staff was nice and friendly. I do not speak Vietnamese and expected there may be a problem with communication. Not so. Much of the staff speak english well enough and those who do not speak it so well were patient with me and I was able to accomplish what I needed to with minimal extra effort. Everyone was pleasant. The food was good and they also have a happy hour. For little extra,, a daily 1 hour massage was included. Prices were reasonable and staff was professional. I have done much traveling for 30+ years and have stayed at hundreds of hotels, some good, and some turned out not so good. This is one that is good. I recommend this hotel and look forward to returning here.
- MalachiUri (10/5): Superb Stay - A goup of 7 friends stayed here for 4 nights.(3rooms)
The hotel was lovely, from lobby to the rooms. Everything was clean and smelled of fresh lemongrass. Daily room cleaning was very well done.
Staff for attentive, even offering us cold water as we sat in the lobby (no room for 7 of us in the rooms we had) during the heat of the day and hot tea in the evenings.
Front desk folks spoke enough English that we never had issues with anything. They even recommended a place for lunch were no tourists ever go, a locals only eatery. Wonderful experience!
Breakfast was include and while different from western breakfasts in many ways, was a great way to start our days.
If we make it back to Ho Chi Minh city, this is where we will stay.
Btw, a Circle K and many restaurants and ATM just steps away...
Enjoy
- eddiebenghengtan (8/5): May Flower Hotel - Nice & helpful front desk staff such as Rita , Hana & Tri.....
I stayed here for over 2 years..hotel changed owner twice... excellent security, had not lost even a piece of rubber band...
Read past reviews ... am confident that the new and experienced Sales Manager Ms Lucy Vo will turnaround and improve the hotel image and service... much improvements already done.. very noticeably..
Eddie Tan
- Rudysuli (8/5): lovly hotel - lovly Hotel ,nice staff, good Location..nice litle Restaurants just next door..good Food good bars for cold beer..safe place..nice motorbike rental next door..good City tour Manager..for some non travelers..
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room was clean and the staffs were friendly. The only complain was the room without window.
- 385yunp (2/5): The first time is the last time - We choose this hotel by chance but it is my worst experience in HCM city. Bad services, poor breakfast, poor conditions, terrible sound-proof. More than 1,000,000 vnd/night is really really not worth. They did not clean the room. When I asked the reason, they made excuse. They changed new towel after my second reminder. Never come back again!!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): hotel closes to center - got an upgrade for full 10 days stay eventhought our reserve room has problem for the first day.
- K (2/5): Good location - The hotel is good location, but when I checked in and out the staff doesn't care and smile at all, they are not helpful.
The hotel too small , room is clean but too narrow.
A lot activities on this hotel , be aware.
- margaret (10/5): Great hotel - Great hotel, we decided to come back to this hotel 4days later for a couple of nights on way to airport
- Nhu (10/5): Great !!! - Friendly, good services, English well. I always stay here when I travel to VietNam for my business. I don't have to spend a lot of time for check-in/out. Great !!!
- Ang (8/5): BRAVO - I feel very comfortable especially room floor wood is clean.
- wing wai (6/5): cheated by hotel. - I have booked 2 Premium Deluxe 2 days, however, they only have 1 room available and the other is down grade to deluxe with all their up front prepared story .They compensate us free trip to airport only. After a short bargain , they promised us to change back premium deluxe room next day!! the impression given to me that they are not honest to customer on this arrangement .
location is good. room is very comfort. but breakfast is bad.
- TheReviewer (8/5): Great Stay, Good Staff, But Bad food - Would recommend this hotel to all. Had 2 stay with Mayflower Saigon so far, pleasant, good and affordable hotel. Friendly staff and clean rooms throughout my stay. Although i was asked to check in at a later timing by staff, even though i specifically stated a early check in.But was fine, as i took the time to take a walk around the streets.
Room was clean when checked in nothing much to complain about except for the hot shower that does not seem to be constant. Air condition was leaking water, making the wall paint to swell up. Technicians was called in (which interrupted my morning) to fix it. however as the unit was above and near to the bed side (Superior room) they were stepping on the bed with their feets (shoes took off, of cos) but after fixing it. they just used a towel to wipe/dust the part that they stepped on. (no bed sheets was changed). Staff were caught sleeping during day time (morning), 3 staff (maybe 2 bellboy and a receptionist). Breakfast for all the days that i stayed in was BAD, as the rice and noodles was always hard (seemed overcooked), the bacon and egg was too oily, the drinks were bland and tasteless, cups and plates are also not clean.
Other than the above mentioned feedback, Mayflower Saigon is a Good, Affordable, Clean, Good Location, Safe and Comfy Hotel to stay in, but wouldn't recommend to have breakfast there. But i would definitely stay there again.
- Wei Liang Silvester (6/5): worthy hotel - Location good. Service is good. Room is clean.
The only bad part will be the shower facility which the mixer for hot and cold water malfunctions. Thus, you will be getting water coming out from your shower turning from cold to hot and back to cold repeated. Kind of annoying.
- L (6/5): Overall ok, helpful bellboys.. - Overall pk, helpful bellboys.. Counter service guys service can be improved.
- Thanatorn (6/5): Low cost but medium quality. - Low cost but medium quality.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel near Ben Thanh market - Convenient location. It's a bit of a walk to Ben Thanh market (15 mins) but doable and it's about $1 taxi ride.
- steven (8/5): Mayflower 2, spartan, but very nice! - Mayflower hotel is separated into "Mayflower", and "Mayflower 2". I stayed at Mayflower 2. The buildings are joined, and have different levels of luxury, I think. M2 has a very helpful staff, very well run business, "no frills". There is a beautiful park across the intersection, and Motorbike taxis will takes you anywhere in Saigon.
- rc (10/5): nice suprise - I thought I booked at the Mayflower but when I went to check in, they said I booked at the Mayflower 2 which is the same building but right next door. At first I thought it was a bad idea because it is smaller, but then after I checked in I was pleasantly surprised. This side is brand new and everything is clean. Service was also great. The reception and bellboys can help with almost anything. I asked them several times about where to eat and the gone on their bike and got the food for me. I gave them a small tip and got whatever food I wanted hand delivered. I will stay here again.
- Sly (8/5): Comfy beds - Hotel staff service is exceptional. You can do delivery order of local viet food from their front desk.
- Tristan (8/5): The staff is very helpful and kind! - great. i might stay there again.
- Jim (6/5): Did the job - Booked online through Expedia. Thought I was booking Mayflower Hotel. When I arrived was told I had actually booked into Mayflower 2 next door. Really poor form on the part of Expedia. The room was ok but not what I thought I'd paid for.
- Norma (4/5): The hotel with the wrong name. - The hotel whose photo is on the web page is 'The Mayflower 2 Hotel' NOT 'The Mayflower Hotel'!
'Mayflower 2' is the name on the front of the hotel.
The Mayflower 2 Hotel' is a very thin building with only a reception desk as you enter.
Despite having an assured booking, there was no room for us and we were put into the 'Mayflower Hotel' next door.
After our flight from Australia, we were most unhappy with the situation with the hotel.
The way to tell the difference is 'The Mayflower 2 Hotel' is in the address. This hotel is 20 BIS Bui Thi Xuan, Dis. 1.
'The Mayflower Hotel' (next door) is 20 Bui Xuan Dis.1!
We didn't go inside 'The Mayflower 2 Hotel' but stayed in 'The Mayflower Hotel' whose assistant manager was very friendly and helpful to us.
- Verified traveler (6/5): average price but good value - Clean n new room. Good value just a bit noisy from neighborhood construction
- Verified traveler (6/5): Bad Experience - I was told by the receptionist that the room I booked was not available and wanted to move me to another hotel nearby. I insisted to stay at Mayflower 1 and fork out additional USD34-00 to get a city view room. This is my first time booking through Hotels.com and was really not satisfied with the Mayflower 2 service.
- Tarkan (8/5): fantastic hotel - it was excellent, I had upgraded my room to deluxe with king bed which was really a deluxe room room to the standard with two double beds joined but it was great, clean, modern and comfortable. breakfast was good and overall it was very pleasant for the price and quality of the hotel. definitely will stay here again if i come back.
- Trung (8/5): - Room's nice and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Good place to stay for a short vacation IMO.
