Guest Reviews
- Chris (8/5): - It’s near everything you need for a one or two night stay. It is an older place and could use some updating. Poor WiFi and poor air conditioner. I asked to be moved from the first room and the second wasn’t much better.
What keeps me coming back is the location, the staff and the food. Especially the breakfast which is worth every penny. See you again soon.
- Pav (10/5): Exceptional Hospitality in Malawi's Capital - I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the management of this hotel for accommodating my late check-in after missing my arrival date due to a coach breakdown. The hotel boasts a modern and immaculate appearance, with my room being particularly impressive. The cuisine is exquisite, and the staff have been exceptionally friendly and accommodating. For anyone visiting Lilongwe, the capital of Malawi, a stay at this hotel is an absolute must.
- E (8/5): - Nice location and very friendly staff. Outstanding breakfast.
- Anna (10/5): - Very comfortable and well equipped rooms, good restaurant and location. Friendly staff.
- Tsugune (8/5): - 町の中心部にあって便利
- Verified traveler (6/5): - A equipe era muito simpatica e prestativa, mas o hotel está bem velho e a limpeza era bem ruim
- Matthew (8/5): - Although the hotel taxi was late at the airport, I found the driver, as well as the staff at the hotel very friendly and helpful. The room I stayed in was adequate, and breakfast was well presented and good.
- Chris (6/5): - The Bridgeview is right next to the biggest mall in Lilongwe. You can find shops and groceries within a short distance. Lots of hustle and bustle outside during the day and nice and quiet at night
The staff are all fantastic and a shoutout to Moses who is always willing to help you with anything. Thanks for looking after us Moses and keep up the great work. You’re the best!
Rooms are okay and comfortable but the property is quite old and a bit weathered. That said the beds are good and the shower is hot.
The onsite restaurant has all you need for filling your tummy and a wonderful breakfast is included with your stay. This is my fourth time at the Bridgeview and it’s because of Moses that I’ll be back. See you again soon
- Phillip (6/5): - Nice enough place for a one or two night stopover in Lilongwe. The setting was too urban and not very peaceful.
- Jordan (6/5): - Staff very friendly and helpful. They provided packed breakfast for me as I had to leave for airport very early.
- Geoffrey (8/5): - Clean, friendly and well run. Good Indian cuisine in the restaurant. Decor a little faded. Very convenient for So buses.
- Tafadzwa (8/5): - My family had a great stay here. The staff were pleasant and polite, also the food was amazing. The only downside was the intermittent wifi, we believe their wifi ran out so it was impossible to communicate without wifi and without a local phone number. Overall I'd recommend this hotel.
- Grant (10/5): USA - Large group booking went very well - I am from phoenix Arizona. We have had another most excellent stay at the Bridgeview Hotel. The last time we were here they were only five of us this time we booked for over 20 people and the Hotel accommodate us so wonderfully. If you are booking for a family or a group or just business travel, this is a affordable and very good option in Lilongwe Malawi.
- Chris (8/5): - Bridgeview is a large upgrade to where I usually stay when in Lilongwe. It is clean and the staff are very friendly. Received great service from Moses and Stevie at the concierge desk. The rooms were large and comfortable and the A/C unit was a bonus for both comfort and noise reduction. Definitely would recommend and will be using this place from now on.
- Gertrude (2/5): Dissappointed - I had to check out on Thursday, a day after I checked because of the condition of the hotel. not clean, sheets have stains and stale smell of incense. I was woken around midnight, by a strong smell of burning incense and because of my allergies I got blocked and started sneezing. I couldn't sleep afterwards. The black carpets next to the bed are filthy. the toilet was blocked, when I flush everything would come up.
- Thomas (8/5): Excellent choice for a reasonable budget stay - The rooms are a little dated but any deficiency in the rooms in made up for by the reasonable cost, the amazing staff, and the service.
- Reuben (8/5): - I liked the fact that the majority of staff were friendly and approachable.
- Nicholas (8/5): Hotel in central Lilongwe. - The hotel is well situated. Facilities are a bit worn, but still comfortable. Inside rooms are much nicer than the reception area. Overall, a good deal based on available properties in Lilongwe.
- Evelind (10/5): - Convenient location, friendly staff, comfortable rooms. Air conditioner worked well. Bathroom had separate shower. Restaurant had delicious food. Breakfast had many options. Great value
- Consolate (10/5): - Empfehlenswert
- Felix (10/5): - The hotel is located in a quaint area with very good shopping facilities, yet the rooms are quiet. Very friendly staff who helped me with many things. Delicious food. Overall very good value for money
- Vera marija (2/5): - I didn’t like the hotel , so i have to book another one , andthry coudnt refund back my money
- Fridah (10/5): - Good service only challenges were electricity flactuation which is not there fault. Good hotel to recommend to my friends
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Always a problem checking in with this hotel when you book and pay online.
Overall the hotel is good
- James (10/5): - This was a convenient place to stay in Lilongwe for a night before a flight. There is dining on the premises as well as within a short walk off the property. The staff was very friendly. They helped me line up a taxi to the airport and everything worked well. Rooms are clean and nice for a short visit.
- Job (10/5): - I normally don’t write reviews but today I am going to. The hotel might kind look weird outside but I was very impressed with their services from the kitchen staff to the hotel manager…
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The place is nice. Check-in is a nightmare, this is the second time I've stayed here and both times there was check in issues. Breakfast is provided but I'd prefer to eat somewhere else
- Lindelani (8/5): Clean - Excellent customer service
- Ryan (10/5): Lovely Staff - The staff were all top notch, friendly, helpful, always willing to please.
We ate every night, but one in the hotel restaurant. The food was delicious, portions very generous, and the staff we terrific.
Our only complaint was the WiFi was not great when it was working, but then due to a malfunction with the tech company, we did not have WiFi for our last two full days out of seven.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - My whole stay was good. No hustle at check in........
- Verified traveler (4/5): - This was not a pleasant stay. First day I only had cold water. I did not feel comfortable in the Hotel. I could only eat the eggs at breakfast. Breakfast terrible. Will not stay here again.
- Henri (8/5): Hotel in downtown next to a mall - One have to put the hotel into the perspective of Malawi. For sure it was not a world class hotel, but the stay was ok. Room was relative big and location good right next to the mall, unfortunately most of shops were closed on Sunday.
On positive side I put room size, friendly service and location. Also the offer of airport pick up at 30 USD is good deal cheaper than what taxis would charge at airport.
On negative front room did not have safe even if room description mentions it, no elevator, however staff does help to carry big bags to the room. The biggest challenge (cross Malawi) is that there is challenges for paying with credit card. I was trying to pay my taxi at hotel but they were never able to get it through so had to pay in cash at the end. Be prepared for this. Breakfast is nothing to write back home, nice thing is they do cook fresh eggs. You also only get wifi code working on one device, in my case they allowed me to use next room code but if hotel is full, this would not work.
There is not a lot of options in Lilongwe, I would probably come back even with all missing things.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Mid price hotel, uncomfortable beds - This hotel made a reasonable overnight stop in Lilongwe with good sized clean rooms and helpful staff. The biggest drawback for us was the uncomfortable mattresses with every spring palpable. No mattress covers added to the pain!
- Ted (8/5): Nice hotel in town - Hotel is in easy walking distance to lot of activities and cheap transportation.
- Susanne (4/5): Double charged - They double charged me. They said my card didn’t run so I paid in cash. When I checked my account they had charged me on my card too.
Not pleased...
- Song (10/5): - 酒店在旧城中心,旁边就是多个大型超市和商业中心
- Verified traveler (2/5): I do not recommend this hotel!!! They empty my cre - I am very upset with this hotel they drew all of my money out of my credit card and caused my card to exceeded the credit limit. I just found out when I tried to use the card. I am stuck in Kenya and have no money or any way to pay for anything. This is not a safe place to stay.
- Nayan (8/5): good hotel for Business class visitors. - They have good knowledge about he city and will assist for all type of requirements. Good staff and is ready to assist as per your requirements. Can arrange for affordable reliable transport also which is added advantage in difficult African countries.
Morover Hotel is in affordable category with a business touch vis a vis star rated hotels.
- well travelled (2/5): Sorry, what a dump - I arrived late after a long journey really in need of a cold beer. To then be told they don't sell beer or any alcohol ecause he owner a Muslim. Why didn't thlybsay so clearly on the internet. Then the WiFi s a joke
The place is old crummy run down and there is no where to sit outside
Just choose another hotel.
- Karoline (10/5): Our go to place in Lilongwe - We had a very comfortable stay at the Bridgeview. It's our go to hotel in Lilongwe, with large rooms, friendly stuff and excellent location.
- DirtDoc (8/5): Excellent location- good value - This is a clean, secure, reasonably well-appointed hotel. Compared to others in Lilongwe, it is a good value. It's main benefit is its location within walking distance of the heart of the "old town" and new shopping centers. The rooms are spacious and clean. The plumbing works. The screens have holes and mosquitoes do get in. The staff hooked up a bed net for me at my request--the rooms do not come with nets. The bed is a queen size foam mattress--pretty soft, but ok. Internet is slow--but available for free. You get one tiny bar of soap...no shampoo, etc. Free breakfast is a decent hotel spread. Bring your own. AC works and windows do open. Don't expect much of a view despite the name.
- Pete (2/5): Expedia should not be recommending this hotel! - One of the plastic key fobs was broken and held together with sticky tape. No lift. Corridors were dark and dingy and carpets filthy. Very plain, unattractive rooms. In our 'luxury' room, the shower was dirty and it's door hanging off and we had been provide with only one small, thin towel. In my daughter's 'luxury' room, she turned back the sheets to find used tissues in the bed. The sheets had obviously not been changed after the previous guests. Her shower was also dirty. We left to try and find another hotel.
This experience has caused us to suffer LID. Loss as I prepaid for the hotel and have lost that money and had to pay for another hotel.
Inconvenience as we arrived in the evening, tired from a long journey and had to drive around Lilongwe looking for another hotel that could take us.
Distress for my family. My wife and daughter were very upset, in tears and shocked by what they witnessed.
You should not be recommending this hotel and the picture of it on your website is misleading. It shows the back of the hotel and the access road to the car park is unmade and very rough. The front of the hotel,as seen from the main road, is drab and gives a very poor first impression.
- gab & stella (6/5): Average hotel with good staff poor management. - Provided accommodation end of story. No big deal. Lots to improve on. Last day was traumatic as the management attempted to extort money from us after all fees had been paid through Expedia, the management told us that Expedia had requested them to collect extra 16% supplementary fee for the accommodation. This was later found to be incorrect as we insisted on verifying from Expedia. With improved management the hotel could attain greater rating. Star rating at the moment 2stars.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great staff. Aging building/sheets - Staff is WONDERFUL. They work very hard to make guests feel welcome, and work hard to overcome the lack of investment in bedding, and minimal maintainence. Rooms are large, with tea and mini fridge.
Sheets were very old, yellowed and worn and had BVH marked into them aparrently so they would not get stolen. Furnishings were nice but bed was basically box springs no mattress. Made softer by the one blanket in the room. Some unrepaired holes in the walls.
Breakfast is large, with standard staples served buffet style.
OK for the price, but probably worth spending a few dollars more.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Right in town - Stayed well and enjoyed the food. Staff were nice. Of course being near the main M1 road means that there is a bit of noise in the morning
- Michael (6/5): Nice hotel in centre of Old Town - This a nice hotel for the price. I have stayed in other hotels in Lilongwe and this is the best value for money I have experienced. Staff are both friendly and helpful. However the breakfast is very basic and I chose to have breakfast outside the hotel in the nearby shopping centre after my first morning.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice secure hotel in the city centre - Bridge view is located central lilongwe. All the staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. Wouldn't hesitate to book here again
