Guest Reviews
- Merrill (8/5): -
- Mario (10/5): - Very nice staff, room access is easy with parking right in front of door. Room was spotless. Price was perfect for the room and location. Not their fault - it's not right in town, but only 10 minutes tops away. Room is a dated, but it was exceptionally clean and safe. If they upgrade it would raise the price which is quite fair.
- Mitchell Pugh (10/5): Convenient and afforadable. - Simple and quiet location
- Meg (7/5): - The mattress or bed frame could use an upgrade, it felt like you were falling into the center
- David (7/5): Comfortable, clean, cosy - The room was comfortable, clean, cosy. It was easy and quick to drive into the centre of Saint John from here. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Nothing to mention,
- Philip (6/5): Museum being renovated so shut till 2029. Misty rain most of the morning. - Out of main town section.
Returned in the dark so easy drive in. Paper thin walls so could even hear the person snore next door.
Central heating didn’t warm the room.
- Robin (9/5): - I thought the room was clean and comfortable The floir in the room wasn't level so the bed had a slant to it
- GARRY (7/5): fine -
- Carol (7/5): - Was none More modern
- Glenn (8/5): - This is no doubt an old motel, maybe a little shabby but traveling for work over the years I've been in a lot of these. It's clean and that's important but it also feels warm and solid (quiet) no drafts and there was a recliner like a lazy boy in the room that was comfortable enough to sleep in and a pod type coffee maker with quality coffee. Staying in more modern Motels from the chains seem to be less comfortable even though everything is usually new and shiny,
- Pauline (5/5): - Motel run down. Luck of toiletries ini. Bathroom. Linen torn abd luck of reasonable size tiweks. A bit dingy noises from traffic outside. Needs a real spruce up.

- Traveltime2021 (6/5): - The guy at the office was great It's really dated and for the same price I could have stayed at something far newer
- Kenneth (6/5): - This is a budget option as far as St. John goes, however, we felt that the condition of the facilities does not merit the price of the rooms. The room had a strange blend of musty smells and that of cleaning supplies. The bed mattress was worn, not firm. The bathroom was small, out of date and had some mildew buildup.
- Scott (8/5): - We stopped one night in St. John and the Regent was perfect for us. A fair price, parking outside the door, clean and comfortable. I wouldn’t hesitate to stop there again.
- Karen (10/5): Fantastic - All was great... clean and comfortable! Great breakfast too... very nice gentleman was out cook! No complaints
- Carol (3/5): - It was ok Outdated Facility
- Dianne (6/5): - It was okay for a quick stay over. I bit out of the way though
- Don (6/5): - Pricey for such an old room!!
- Blair (10/5): - A bit dated, but feiendly and clean. Good prices. Nothing bad ro say about it!
- Syed Parvez (7/5): -
- Russel (6/5): - Liked the price.
Neighbour snored thru the walls.
- Myriam (8/5): - Très attentionné Lit trop haut
- Richard (9/5): -
- Bertrand (9/5): -
- Talbi (5/5): -
- Mitchell Pugh (9/5): Comfortable affordable and great service - Accessible
- Vishnu (8/5): - Good motel, things are old but good for the price you pay.
- Paul (4/5): Fun trip - I liked the price. Staff (family) was helpful and friendly. Mattress was good. Overall it was comfortable. Dust under the bed, and inside drawers. Curtains missing on back windows (too high to see in, but let the sun in). The bathroom doorknob was on backward. Doors are stuck.these things are all small and could be fixed with a little effort.
- jean-pierre (5/5): il vaut mieux payer un peu plus cher - il n,y en avait pas d, offert ventilateur de plafond débalancé et bruyant et salle de bain vieille et trop petite
- Douglas (10/5): - Clean, affordable and easy check in. Stayed in room number 11 that had a table and couple comfortable chairs to sit in. Would stay here again when in the area
- Aniruddh (2/5): - Avoid This Place – Dirty and Unhygienic
We stayed at the Regent Motel in Saint John, NB on August 30, 2025, and were extremely disappointed with the condition of the room. The cleanliness was shockingly poor:
The wallpaper was peeling off, with signs of mold or water damage underneath (see photo).
The shower head was rusted and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned or replaced in years.
The blanket and pillows had a foul smell, making it very uncomfortable to sleep.
The overall room felt dirty and poorly maintained.
We expected at least basic cleanliness for the price we paid, but this was far from acceptable. Would not recommend this place to anyone unless serious renovations and cleaning measures are taken.
- Aleksandr (7/5): A little expensive for a one-night stand, but otherwise not too bad - - Nice old-fashioned interior.
- Everything in good working order. - The bathroom door would open on its own from time to time despite being fully closed.
- The area around the motel is very dilapidated and far from anything of interest.
- Norma (8/5): - The motel is a bit dated. It was clean, good size room. Bed was comfortable
- Vicki (8/5): - The rooms are dated but quite clean and had everything needed.
- Deborah (10/5): - Great views
- Scott (6/5): -
- Daniel (6/5): Would stay here again - Clean Needs a little fixing in the rooms just some TLC example : moving toilets
- AKM (2/5): - Poor quality
- Klaus (8/5): - Alles okay Wi Fi schwach.
- Klaus (8/5): - Alles okay. Keine Klimaanlage
- Hua-Wu (6/5): - check in was sooth, place is convenient, but overall room conditons are poor in particular teh bathroom
- Sheila (8/5): - Owner was very helpful. We had a motorbike and parking spot was on a slant, offered other options
- Hardeep (8/5): -
- Christopher (8/5): - Nice.
- Elham (8/5): - Our room was very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable.
- Carol (4/5): Not great - Well lit at night The property had no snacks etc close by for a late night arrival.
My bed sheets were full if sand so I slept on top of the sheets.
The proprietor called me the next evening at 12:03 asking me about the 2nd nights arrival which I never booked. Woke me up when I had just settled down!
- Sarah (8/5): - Affordable and convenient for a quick stay.
- Daye (7/5): My vacation in St.John, NB. - Like the location and cleanliness as well as the price . The owner was very nice and friendly. I did not like that they would come into our room when we left to go to breakfast. I would prefer they ask us if we need anything or towels instead of going into our room to see if we do. I would like to have our privacy . Have the room signs saying ,"Do not disturb this room," that we could put on the door .
- Vajahat (8/5): Nice place to stay - For the price paid, and the location, this is the one of the nicest places to stay in Western Saint John, NB.
- Shelton (6/5): Adequate - Location
Clean Stayed in room 4: bed sagged and was uncomfortable. There is no air conditioning - so had to leave windows open BUT that made it very noisy - cars on road, neighbors, etc.
- Ken (10/5): Great value stay at clean motel - Very well maintained and clean. Ash at the desk was very personable. Would stay again. No complaints
- COLLEEN (8/5): - It’s in the city but in a beautifully quiet and green area. Would definitely book again.
- Sheri (1/5): The Bates Motel - The staff were friendly The accommodation was not clean and was in need of repairs. It smelled of mold and mildew and caused my allergies to act up.
- Darlene (8/5): Very good -
- Mark (6/5): - It was good clean and quiet
- Ray (7/5): Good -
- Roseann (8/5): Older location but safe and clean and quiet - Clean, and just what we needed after a long day on the road. Manager was pleasant and helpful. Nothing - surprised we didn’t really notice the road traffic.
- Joelene (10/5): - It's definitely not fancy by any means , but in saying that staff were wonderful, very friendly, it's very old and undated but was very clean , would definitely book there again if in nb
- Diane (8/5): - It was an older property and found use some updating. It was adequate and the price was good. A coffee maker and mugs in the room would have been nice
- Melissa (10/5): - Location is out of the way and more quiet. Private entrance and lots of room for parking is great!
- Mccall (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hayes (9/5): Superb - Nothing
- Mccall (10/5): An affordable clean and comfortable place to stay in St John - Private quiet and clean. Management and staff were extremely accommodating. N/A
- karamjeet (2/5): - .
- Waiting2travel (7/5): Good - Fridge No coffee in room (only available in lobby after 9 am!)
No smoke alarm
- Aeriol (10/5): - Was a good restful stay - owner works hard to ensure that all is well
- Garth (4/5): - Poor parking area
- Grazyna (6/5): Pleasant -
- Paulette (8/5): Very good - Affordable and a vacancy Tub was slippery, I ply toilet paper, so you need to use 4 times as much
- Claude (4/5): - Since there were no eating establishments in the immediate area it seems to me there was plenty of room in the office front room to set up a coffee bar. Starting each day without a cup of coffee was not ideal.
- Clairette (1/5): Bad -
- Melanson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brent (10/5): - Nice location and very clean!
- Constance (9/5): Here is a really good value so you can explore St John and the Bay of Fundy. - Nice family motel with windows that open, nice and close to St John. Comfortable bed.
- MAUREEN (6/5): - This is a basic motel. It looks like some improvements have been made, but they still have a way to go. The bed was comfortable enough, the shower was fine. We just needed a place to stay overnight, and this was ok.
- Sue (10/5): - Very clean and pleasant motel. nice sized room. Our room didn't have air conditioning, but with the ceiling fan & windows open, it was not a problem. Staff/owner is very nice.
- Terrissa (5/5): A decent stopover for us. - Very friendly staff. Small but only one night
- Eva (6/5): Pleasant - Good value. It was pleasant and a good location. Nothing - just don't expect luxuary accommodations.
- Thomas (10/5): We enjoyed watching the sun rise through the New Brunswick mist while staying in a clean and safe, old fashioned motel. - It reminded us of comfortable roadside motels of the pre-chain era, in a beautiful misty area, and tended carefully by a good staff. The bathroom fixtures were old.
- Tracy (10/5): Great place to stay. - Love the feel of this Motel. Bed was a bit noisy. Every time you would move it would squeak.
- Louise (7/5): Good -
- Francisco (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (7/5): The Regent Motel was a more than adequate place to stay for one night on the way to Nova Scotia. - Choice of property was mainly influenced by location, Space was adequate. The room was in good order.
- Tracy (10/5): Great stay. Right price. - I love this Motel. The owners are awesome. It is dated with no AC but it has charm. It reminds me of my childhood living in SJ. Bathroom plug in didn’t work.
- Matthew (8/5): Very good -
- Gurpreet (9/5): Superb -
- Charles John (10/5): - The owner and the place is great. We've recommended it to our friends.
- Lorraine (3/5): Overrated AND Substandard - Exterior of motel is deceptive of the interior. It has apparently been upgraded including recently painted outside
Comfortable bed
Good flat screen TV
Fan above bed
Microwave & fridge
In a tiny kitchenette… NO FUNDY BAY VIEW!!
Wrinkled carpet
Wrinkled, stained & peeling wallpaper
Plastic shelving in bathroom is broken
Only a couple of glasses & 1 mug for dishes …no cutlery, coffee maker/ kettle

- Florian (8/5): Great quality esp. for this price point - Very nice overall.
Strong hot water
Rather firm bed ( that’s good)
Good darkness
Very quiet on a weekday Cramped room
Slanted floors
Bed too high as usual
- Ann (9/5): Great place, just right. - I have stayed here on my way to Nova Scotia a number of times. The rooms are large, simple and just what you need to sleep well on a trip. Owners are very nice.
- Donald (5/5): Passable -
- Stephanie (5/5): Passable -
- Ulrich (6/5): ok for one night -
