Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (4/5): Ok for one night - Stayed for one night only, and happy about that. The hotel premises was nice, but the room was not. The water came out of the faucet in both the sink and shower like a blocked hose. The bed was old and uncomfortable and the mattress kept sliding everytime we would get up. Also, check out was at noon even though hotels.com advertises it as 1pm. We asked to stay in the room until 12:30 because of this and were told no. It's understandable, but I wish the site was updated.
- Sandra (10/5): - Couldn’t have picked a better location right by Central Park and walking distance to all the attractions in Antigua. Friendly staff and very charming room. Felt very safe.
The hotel overall is charming and quaint. It has a rooftop with amazing views of the city and the volcanos.
- Jasmine (10/5): - Great customer service and perfect location.
- Trajano (10/5): 🇬🇹 dream getaway - Close to processions for Holy Week, safe and near food establishments
- laryn Milne (10/5): - Our room was clean and had no weird humid climate smells. Unfortunately we had a room sharing a wall with the club next-door, luckily we brought earplugs. Overall enjoyed our stay!
- Evelyn (10/5): - Overall a great stay. Very close to everything.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent stay in Antigua - Beautiful hotel and rooftop. Great price and fabulous central location.
- Peter (8/5): - It's a fairly basic hotel but centrally located and the staff were very nice. No AC, no hot water faucet for the sink, some sloppy repairs in shower. Great rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the city including a view of Volcan de Fuego erupting in the distance. Lots of great food options nearby - Casa Escobar and Ta'Cool are right there with great food, cocktails and service!
- Kristin (10/5): - Lovely old hotel with many historical item
- Jennifer (10/5): - Absolutely loved the location and rooftop of this place!
- Claudia (4/5): NO Breakfast Included - The page said it was breakfast included and we chose that hotel because of that in our reservation said the breakfast was included. Once in the Hotel they said there was NOT breakfast included. very disappointed.
- Lorena (6/5): - The property was beautiful and clean. Adorable sun roof! Lovely flowers and views! Our room was bought at a very reasonable price and maybe that's why we got the first room on the first floor next to the public restroom. It didn't have a safe nor they provide free breakfast as it was stated online expedia. There was a sign in bathroom about soiling the towels with make and getting charged. They truly need to invest of some good quality towels. The cleaning ladies were the friendliest noble women I could have met.
- Alejandro (10/5): - The property is stunning it has that feel that transports you back on time or if you are in a novela. Staff very friendly and helpful and the rooftop has an amazing view you will never forget
- Diego (10/5): - Great hotel close to everything!
- SHLER (8/5): - The location is perfect, a couple of minutes from center , market and the arch .
Staff very friendly
- Bobby (8/5): Overall good
- Great location I mean Great...
The walls are very very thin you can hear everything nextdoor...
I found it difficult to sleep.
Front desk was very helpful.
Beautiful hotel with great rooftop views.
- Daniel (10/5): - Veey friendly staff. No air conditioning but huge celing fan. Uostairs rooftop is everything. Hot shower and very fast check in.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It is a very quiet hotel and the staff is friendly, it just needs a little more light in the rooms, for everything else it is an excellent hotel.
- James (10/5): - The staff were all professional, helpful and sincerely welcoming. The roof top terrace was fantastic to watch the volcanos
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Beautiful property and hotel. Rooms were unique and lovely. Reception was a bit unfriendly and not very accommodating for simple requests. Eat at the restaurant instead of having it delivered (arrived late and very cold). Would recommend adding coffee to the rooms! Overall good place and perfectly located!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. BUT the rooms were not comfortable. You can hear all the noise from the neighboring bars as well as the conversations from rooms next door. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is not for you.
Did enjoy it was just a couple of blocks from the central plaza.
- diksha (10/5): - Great location!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice Hotel and location - Had a lot of street noise during the night, but not hotel's fault.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great location - I feel bad about the location of the kitchen. I think it is unsafe for their workers.
- Cel (6/5): Stay was ok - Staff was friendly and location was good. However, bedding smelled of mildew, room was stuffy and did not want to leave widow open for fear of the meowing cats getting in. Also, when it rained the water leaked down the walls and onto the floor. I don't think I will be coming back here.
- Jason (10/5): Underrated hotel just off the main square - This hotel offers excellent value to the seasoned traveller - it is located less than a block off the beautiful main square, has very clean and functional rooms and helpful staff. The hotel is centered around a beautiful courtyard and has a lovely rooftop terrace to boot. The fact that a good cooked-to-order breakfast is included makes this a no-brainer.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Simple hotel; great location! - My teenage daughter and I spent 3 nights at the Hotel Euro Maya over a weekend in La Antigua. We were greeted by friendly and helpful staff who helped us carry our heavy suitcases up the steps. It is a fine place to lay your head. If you are looking for a fancy hotel with over-the-top service and accommodations, this is not it. The best part about this hotel is that it is only 3/4 of a block from the Central Park. For the price, we were very happy with Hotel Euro Maya.
- sara (8/5): It was good - The hotel is beautiful and situated in a good location. We are rating it a 4 due to the fact that it advertised free buffet breakfast. You do get free breakfast but you pick one item from their menu. it's not buffet. One other things was the lack of communication when we booked a bus from Antigua to Flores. We asked if it was a direct bus and confirmed the time. we were picked up by a shuttle to a bus terminal and when we got there they told us we cannot board at the time stated on the ticket, so we had to wait an extra hour.
- Gisele (8/5): Convenient in Antigua Center. - We booked this small hotel for one night as our flight arrived too late for getting to our final destination Lake Atitlan.
- Geoffrey (10/5): Great price and location! - Excellent place to stay in Antigua. Room was very nice for the price. Nice breakfast, and you can't find a much better location. Front desk staff was not as friendly as other places I have stayed in Antigua, but other than that, no complaints for the price of our room.
- Maria Andree (10/5): - Nice staff and great location! They were very helpful during our stay.
- Chris (10/5): Brilliant hotel, nice and central - Love this hotel - not luxurious but completely Guatemalan in terms of décor, breakfast etc. and excellent value for money (amazingly hot, powerful shower to boot!) Really helpful staff and with the convenience of being able to book shuttles etc. directly from hotel. Lovely roof terrace with fantastic views over Antigua towards smoking volcanoes. It is so central, less than a block from the central park so within spitting distance of great restaurants, the market etc.
- Edgar G (2/5): Room was Just horrible - Room 1 was on a very poor condition. Strong smell of humidity and mole. Gave me the worst allergies. Had to change rooms. The outside of the hotel its nice but rooms and beds and towels very old and poor condition for the prize of the room
- Grant (8/5): - A very well-located boutique hotel. Clean and well presented.
Friendly staff.
Breakfast includes eggs, beans and sausages.
- bc (8/5): good location, nice staff, excellent view
- From check in till check out the experience was wonderful. The rooftop patio was great for breakfast. The beds were comfortable. The food was great and it was right downtown.
- Steve (6/5): Beautiful and great location but paper walls - Beautiful hotel just one block from tne main plaza. However, the walls are paper thin. You might almost as well be in a dormitory. There was only courtesy water on the first day amd no water filter for guests. Tours are more expensive if booked via the hotel so shop around.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Basic - This is a very basic hotel - the bedding and beds are all very old. Breakfast super basic. There was no wifi in the room. However my room was big and the room was clean. It's also pretty much in the centre square.
- andrew (8/5): Great rooftop restaurant. - Great hotel for the cost. No one goes up and eats dinner on the rooftop restaurant at sunset. Dont miss it, the place has an incredible view from up top.
- Dennis (8/5): Antique experience in nice small hotel - Lovely place to stay with comfortable rooms and a very classy atmosphere. Lots of antique furniture smallness of hotel makes it a nice experience.
- Timothy (6/5): Basic but great location and friendly staff - Accommodations were pretty basic, but location can't be beat and the staff is super friendly. Room was clean, free breakfast was basic but good. Solid choice in Antigua.
- luisj23 (6/5): Excellent location. - A block away from the central park but with a noisy neighborhood.
- tina (10/5): great spot - The location can't be beat, the hotel was clean, our room was clean and large. Lots of hot water. And the free breakfast was great, plenty to eat. I would stay again.
- David (8/5): Antigua - Nice. Quiet place
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not worth it - Stayed at this hotel before joining a tour of Central America. Wasn't worth the money. Had no hot water all week. Complained to the front desk but nothing was done about it. Sheets were never changed and comforter was dirty. Breakfast was not a 'buffet' as advertised on this website. The only positive aspect is the central location.
- John (8/5): Nice Place To Stay In The Heart of Antigua - Enjoyed it.
- ANTIGUA JOE (6/5): sorry buddy - My experience with the hotel itself was pleasant overall... My problem was the transportation contractor who works with the hotel. They are contracted to transport guests to the airport and to the various bus terminals throughout the country.
Anywho, the bus picked me up as scheduled and they had several guests from various hotels going to various destinations... He decides to drop me off last for my bus which was scheduled to depart at 11 am... We get there at 11:05 and sure enough the bus has left.. No other buses had any empty seats for the rest of the day...The driver sits making phone calls for 30 minutes and I finally ask him to take me back to the hotel and I'll just leave the next day as there was no other available options..The driver tells me if I want to return to the hotel I MUST PAY 80Q!...I was forced to pay or this driver was going to leave me stranded at a bus station in a foreign country because he drooped me off late...When I told the hotel what happened , they took responsibility for their part a comp'ed me a night... The transport company on the other hand demanded I pay full costs again the next day as if they had no responsibility or should not be held accountable for their poor time management.
- Fari (4/5): TERRIBLE CHECK IN SERVICE - I choose this hotel for it location near Central Park of Antigua... When I arrived and meet probably one of the worst check in staff in my life who told me they didnt have any reservation under my name from Expedia, and they were full but offer to send me.to other hotel at the end of the city.... When I arrived to the other hotel, the room was half equipment, without TV ( they have to install.it later) , children sized beds.... and I hated that they lied to me , they were just overbooked but she told me the lie that they didnt have my reservation but didnt "charge me for the room"... of course because I already paid it with the reservation "she didnt receive"!!!
- Rotem (10/5): Great location! Big rooms - We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed every second:)
- Chris58 (8/5): Brilliant location in centre of Antigua - Staff really helpful and welcoming - probably helps that we speak Spanish. Rooms were lovely and view from hotel roof space is fantastic. Would definitely stay there again.
- Akrodon (6/5): Host refused us before even checking reservations. - Host at first tried to shuttle us elsewhere before even determining that we had reservations.
Our room was next to noisy machinery that went on and off during the night.
On the positive side, it's a charming old building with many interesting artifacts.
