Guest Reviews
- Alfred (6/5): Good place for a dip on the beach - The room needs a lot of improvement. Its ok for a stay if you are in a semi-tight budget. But not if your expectations are high.
- Raquel (2/5): - When we arrived there, there’s power outage and they never bother to tell us. Had to stay in other resort. Terrible service
- Maria Lycelda (10/5): - Everything about this place is beautiful and the staff are very friendly and welcoming to us. Our Presidential Suite was the best place to be and we were very impressed. Room is very clean, roomy and very well maintained.
- Chris (6/5): - The beach was really nice, the hotel is terrible. I hate the salt water shower and faucet.
- Monika (2/5): - Great location, poor condition of rooms, cleanliness needs to be improved, lack of amenities like soap, hand towel etc, bigger choice for breakfast would be nice, friendly staff
- Robin (10/5): - Great value and staff are wonderful. For me, the pillows were hard.
- Houssem (8/5): - Freindly staff, great location and beach, nice dining option and very clean.
if you are expecting european/US Standards, so the facilities is below that:
- AC is old technology and very loud,
- bathroom standard in the room is poor. Suage stinks, no furniture for storage
- power supply for charging devices is very few and not comfortable
- Christine (8/5): - We loved the proximity to the beach, which was just a short walk away and beautifully clean. However, the bathroom could benefit from some updates to its fixtures to enhance the overall experience.
- Jeremy (10/5): - This place is absolutely terrific. I've stayed there several times, over a spread of about 12 years and have watched it become better and better. This is where you go if you want the exact opposite of Alona Beach, which is only 4 miles away but a thousand miles from the ambience of the Dumaluan - and that's the way I like it.
- Jesusa (6/5): - The view is nice, but my room assign is danger for elderly.Floor is loose & slippery.
- JOCELYN (2/5): - I booked 1 room for 1 night stay here thru Expedia but we were not able to use the room. When my brother asked the staff if there was a reservation under my family name, the info staff said there was no room booked for us so we went to dumaluan beach resort 1 & there they found my name (but it was for the cottage though) We stayed in DBR 1 although the room we booked was in DBR 2 so I just paid double ryt? hehe. I tried to seek help from the apo's & they were so kind (Biboy & 1 lady) but it wasn't resolved.
Piece of advise: Make sure which resort you booked.
( Pls ask several times since the info staff in DBR said there was no room under my name).
Note: DBR 1 does not have online booking, they do bookings thur call & fb while DBR 2 does have online booking.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good hotel, good service, helpful staff, cozy area, nice beach. A good hotel in this price range.
- Jan Peter (6/5): short family vacation - location is nice, beach is faboulus, but standard and general condition of hotel is lacking from good or any maintenance.
Shower in the Executive room was so bad and very low water pressure and difficult to shower normally and water is salty.
They dont provide soap and shampo if you not ask for it.
Service level is like many other places in phil... especially restaurant..very very slow and even the drinks you order takes very long time to get. Excpect to wait between 45min-1 hr even if the restaurant is only 30-40% full.. waiters/waitreses trying to NOT see you and the food is only so-so and menu isnt any special.
An option is to have your dinners in Alona.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was fun, and staff are.accomodating.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - relaxinhg
- snowwhite (4/5): - location of beach is nice... its just that no telephone on low level room and no hot shower. the water on shower is also so slow.. the cr on the other room is also doesn’t smell good. we ask for assistance on our things coz we are checking out.. but nobody arrived!
- Jodelle Irish (8/5): - Love the place, but the only draw back was they dont have elevator and my grandparents with arthritis stayed on the 3rd floor. 😞
- Sheng (6/5): - The water in the comfort room is salty. No hot/cold shower. No complimentary drinks like water, coffee or tea. You need to pay if you want any of it. Breakfast is not that good. The food in the restaurant is not that good and a bit pricy.
- Susette (10/5): Stayed 5 times in Dumaluan 2 - We always stay in this resort whenever we are in Bohol. Just 10 minutes away from the new airport. Check in was a breeze. Very fine sand. Good food in restaurant.
- noli (8/5): Good stay - We had a nice and comfortable stay... room was ok.. for me their breakfast buffet was great..
- VLIsidro (6/5): - Property is very accessible & near the new airport with nice quiet beaches (private & public) pools are nice & restaurant on property has evening music entertainment. Problem is service tends to be slow. staff training & development needs to be improved.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Our stay is okei.. I expected a little more from our room...
- TrishDizon (6/5): - Cons: there’s no hairdryer and no free bottles of water in the fridge. The water out of the faucets/shower is salty, and the hot water is intermittent. Sometimes the toilet doesn’t flush well. They will setup an extra mattress but you have to pay P50 if you also want a pillow to go with it. The people at the front desk aren’t very welcoming and just ignore you until they’ve finished chatting with each other. At checkout, they tried to double-bill me for my 11-year old as they said she counts as an extra person when I’ve already settled the bill via Expedia (in the end, this was sorted out when another staff confirmed that no additional payment is needed). Pros: it’s a beachfront resort and the price point is very good compared to neighboring resorts. Food at the resto is quite affordable though there’s not a lot of vegan/gluten-free options if you’re on a restricted diet. Tip: There’s a resto-grill at the neighboring resort called DBR grill which has other food options, and beside it is a sari-sari store where you can buy bottled water, beer, and chips at a lower price than if you buy it at the store in the resort.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Close to the beach
- Edmil (8/5): - I recommend this beach resort, Rooms are clean coupled with friendly staff and good food. Staying at Panglao beach front with family is priceless! I will stay again on this hotel on my next vacation.
- Abelle (8/5): - Wifi is lagging in our room. You have to got to the restaurant to get faster surfing.
Breakfast lacks in fruits, only watermelon is served. Fried rice is wet and soggy.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice beachfront hotel on a decent beach - The place was nice and clean and good value for money. Right on the beach too, and with nice food. However, the beach is not great for swimming (due to sea grass and tidal flats), but it is ok. The let down was we felt that the tour we booked for island hopping was miss-sold due to a lack of understanding of what we wanted. FYI - don't do the island hopping tour if you want to go to nicer beaches. Where they stop it's only rocky islands with no beaches suitable for swimming, plusa long, noisy bangka ride to get there. Not worth it, you are better off going to Alona beach for swimming. All in all, a nice hotel for the price right on the beach. A good deal.
- Chiles (8/5): - Nice hotel but the food at the resort I can only give a 5 for it. It doesn't taste bad but it doesn't taste wow either and also the price is not suitable for the food that they serve. Minimal servings of food but very pricey.
- Zyrus (6/5): Very Nice Location But Service was not very good. - The location is good. It is Beachfront and they have their own restaurant that you don't have to go to other place to find something to eat. Beach was not as i expected it to be but still good. Service is poor. You really have to ask for Tissue, Towels, Rags, Water and other things that I expected must be already in the room as we checked-in. No Telephone in the room so you need to go out and go to reception area to ask for what is missing in the room. We have infant kid with us so its very disappointing that they assigned us room that is very far from beach area and we still have to use stairs to go to our room. Staffs seems not very train to handle guest. But we are also grateful they had arranged us car service to go to the airport. I hope they can somehow improve their service, i would to go back their since their location is very good.
- Dante (8/5): Excellent hotel that’s budget friendly - Staff was awesome, great food selection and food was delicious. Breakfast buffet was also excellent. Probably the best white sand beach in the area, including Alona. Room was nice and clean.
They have night entertainment for you to enjoy while enjoying the beach and/or your dinner. Highly recommended!!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Ants in shower and room. Manager not available to talk to. Staff has no empathy. Food is not good. You pay what you get for. Very cheap room.
- Leslie (6/5): - Room is big but House keeping skip us everyday , we have to tell them everyday that we need soap , garbage change ect. the resort beach is crowded due to the public beach next door. Dumaluan Beach Resort mainly Cater to locals . I did like the intertament at night, those singer sure can sing.!!! lovely voices.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Poor Service @ their Dining Area/Restaurant - Restaurant service is very poor! Long wait for a waitress/waiter to take our order, very long wait (45 minutes) before food is served plus, foods being served had about 30-minutes gap before being served. We finished the first entree then the 2nd and 3rd dish haven’t come yet. We stayed for 5N/6D in this resort. Other than their restaurant service being very poor, the rest of our stay and the services we got were good. My brother and I talked to the restaurant manager and addressed our concern on our 3rd day there. The following days/nights, it was the manager servicing us. We showed him the reviews on their service on line and expressed our expectations of them for the rest of our stay there. And it has improved.
- S.Kim
(4/5): - The front desk staff needs some more training. I showed them my fully paid booking papers with confirmation of two rooms. They couldnt find my second room in their system and continues to inform me that they are all booked anyway and have no second room to spare.
Then they couldnt unlock my door. The room was a decent size but constantly smelled of sewer. Provided only 1 keycard for 4ppl.
Food was decent. Waiters were no where to be found in between meals. They only appeared when they were running after you with the check.
Pools were ok. Beach was clean and well maintained.
- Arnulfo T (4/5): - A good place for the price. The beach was great. The facility is OK. But the food is generally salty.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Budget hotel with shabby service and facilities - A restroom that stinks, a room that smells like paint, no exhaust, aircon breaks down, restroom has no hangers, floor that is slippery... List goes on and on
- Darrenn (4/5): Hostel quality room disguised as hotel. NOPE. - Rooms are barely a step above a Hostel- cold, under lit, the bathroom floods and room needed a deep cleaning. The grounds are under construction (may 2017). The restaurant was ok...the beach access was amazing.
I have no issues with hostels as I regularly stay at them, however, when I want to stay at and pay for a hotel experience, that's what I expect.
- Tine (6/5): Beach front - Easy access to the beach. They need to enhance their service at the restaurant, we waited for 45 mins. Just to order our food. Our second table didnt get the chance to order because waiters seems to hide and doesnt roam around tables to get their customers order. they need to train their staff in order for them to handle many people.
Room is descent. hard to ask for room service due to no phone in the room, you have to go out in the front desk for your request. Quiet place, friendly staff, clean room. I will come back to this place but hoping for better service at the restaurant.
- Larry (8/5): Getaway - It was fun relaxing
- bill (2/5): One star hotel - They switch to four room; first room lot of ants, second room toilet did not flush plus ants; third room no water in the shower plus ants; forth room ants, ants biting us, we had a miserable time , did not get sleep because of the ants on the floors and no phone in the hotel to call the receptionist had to walk back and forth , I would like a refund on this hotel and extra compensation
- Verified traveler (2/5): Bad place to stay - The rooms need to be renovated we stayed in one of the better rooms and it was bad. When we got our first room was unsat so we upgraded and it was just as bad as the first one and it was one of they're newer rooms the bathrooms were from the Stone Age . Transportation getting around were really expensive the locals know that and charge outrages prices to go anywhere. Everything there was over priced.
- Tim (2/5): More than dissapointed - These owners just don't get it. This resort is awful. It's really too bad as the beach area is very nice and the location is quiet and serene, not the huge party scene like at Alona Beach. But the idyllic location cannot make up for paying a lot of money when you would be more comfortable camping. Lodging at Motel 6 is better. The rooms are very spartan without even chairs or basic furniture. No hot water. I would have had more useful light if I had brought headlamps. Shower and faucet water flow is reduced so much it is like showering using a squirt bottle. ONE roll of very thin TP is provided and no boxed tissues. We had to argue to get another roll and had to walk all the way to the desk (there are no phones). The cheap soaps provided were postage stamp size and we had to argue to get more. One thin bath towel and no face towels or hand towels. No beach towels either. No room housekeeping during the whole stay no towel or bed sheet replacements or water or coffee or glasses or in-room refrigeration or mini bar or toiletries or slippers or robes or writing items or even decent mirrors. No wifi except in public areas. We were even told when taking a small banana from the lobby fruit bowl that it was 40 Php! When it became clear what we had gotten ourselves into, we bailed even though we had paid for non-refundable rooms for more days -- best decision of the trip. Do NOT stay here unless you are willing to drop 3,500 Php on a hostel.
- BC (6/5): Nice beach - Right beside a white sand beach that can compare with Boracay. The hotel has a tropical feel, there is no room service to speak of ( I guess guests are expected to be self-reliant), and the aircon unit was quite noisy. Be careful with those bathtubs (de luxe room)--the positioning is awkward and might cause you to be off-balanced.
If you are after the beach, this review should not faze you!
- Beth (8/5): - Responsive staff especially in the restaurant. Very clean beach area with private access and only had one vendor who was not intrusive. We enjoyed talking to the Mynah birds.
The burned down building next to the hotel which is just outside our door is an eyesore.
- Bruce (8/5): The beach is nice and quiet. - I stayed at this location for 2 nights. The best thing about the resort, in my opinion, is the beach. It is a huge white sand beach on a very quiet side of the island. If you want to hang out with and meet locals, this is not the side of the island you want to be on. It is also too far to walk to get to the many dive shops that are located at Danao beach. They do offer their own dive excursions, apparently. There is a table set up to arrange scuba diving outings, but no one ever showed up. Eventually, I took a ride to Danao beach were there are many dive shops and dove 5 times in two days.
The resort does a little price gouging when it comes to beer, pop, or money exchange. In fact, the money exchange is terrible. They offered 38 pesos per dollar. In Tagbilaran the same day, the rate was 43 pesos per dollar. Exact same beer, pop, and snacks are about half price if you leave the resort and walk to the top of the hill and buy from the locals.
Other than that, the AC was cold, the water in the shower was hot. The bed was too firm for my taste. The light in the bathroom must have been about 15 watts only. It felt like being in a cave. The TV was snowy on every channel except for the NBA channel. I didn't go there to watch television so this was not a big deal.
There is still no power on the island, but the hotel does have a generator that supplies power to the rooms after dark. I felt like the price was worth the cost of the room.
