Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Mooie locatie in wijngaard. Rustige omgeving met wijds uitzicht
- Kevin (8/5): A delightful 2 day get away. - A lovely visit in a wonderful location.
The only negative was that the walls are thin so you can hear what the neighbours are doing.
Otherwise the hosts are wonderful and very obliging.
A delightful 2 day get away.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location and breakfast in the morning. It was all so special and I will be thinking of those pancakes for a long time. The hosts were also so kind and welcoming; they even held some of our bags when we went into Abel Tasman for the next night to make sure they were safe. Recommend this B&B to anyone in the area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful B&B with very friendly host! Great location and handy to most of the attractions. Will definitely be back again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is a beautiful B & B the rooms are done to an extremely high standard. Jeanette & Paul made me very welcome I really enjoyed my stay.
- Roger (10/5): Beautiful Property, Great Hosts - This is a fabulous place. A beautifully built and maintained property set in a vineyard with a pond and fruit/olive trees. The location is next to Mapua, which is a cute coastal town, and the amazing Abel Tasman park. But what really makes the experience are the hosts, Jeannette (sp?) and Paul. They are amazingly friendly, informative and helpful. They also have two beautiful dogs that they are happy to share with visitors (or not - your choice). The only slight problem is that the guest rooms are close to each other and a little noisy, but a little mutual consideration, and this issue disappears. You'll love it!
- Peter (8/5): - Host was extremely friendly.
Nice Sitting outside.
Room a bit small - not appropriate for doing some business work.
Reading in the bed nearly impossible due to nice but not very efficient lamps.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Jeanette & Paul are wonderful hosts and the place was perfect! Beautiful and serene. Highly recommend!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This was the best experience on our trip. Jeanette and Paul is wonderful hosts that made our stay very special. They are lovely people that treasure hospitality the most. The room was spotless cleaned and the breakfast was delivered to our room every morning by Paul, and it contained freshly baked bread, scones, crossiants and whatever we liked. We had a jacuzzi just outside our room which we could use how much we wanted. The wineyard itself is just stunning. I have never seen anything that beautiful. As guests we were very welcome to stroll around the wineyard as much as we wanted. The location is just perfect, right between Nelson and Abel Tasman. We just loved our stay and want to recommend it to everyone!
- Daniel (10/5): Lovely Lodge - Pine Hill Lodge is located on a stunningly beautiful vineyard. It is a small and quiet with just a few rooms. The owners, Jeanette and Paul are extremely nice and helpful with recommendations for places to see. Paul served a choice of continental breakfast dishes in our room or outside. The lodge is a few minutes away from the Mapua Warf which has some lovely lunch and dinner restaurants. They are also a short drive from Abel Tasman park, Golden Bay, and Nelson which makes it a great location for visitors wanting to see a variety of the Nelson area’s lovely locations.
- Martha (10/5): Great B&B in an idyllic setting - We thoroughly enjoyed our four nights at Pine Hill Lodge. Our room was lovely—very comfortable bed with beautiful bedding, a view of the vineyard outside our French doors, immaculate bathroom and kitchenette, and the best WiFi we have experienced during our three weeks in NZ. We ordered from a variety of continental breakfast foods that were delivered to our door each morning right at the times we requested. The apples on their two trees were ripe and we were invited to pick some to eat. Paul and Jeannette also gave us suggestions for activities in the area. They were excellent hosts. We couldn’t have asked for more!
- Lorraine (10/5): Something Special - Highly Recommend, friendly and informative of the local area.
Very comfortable bed with an beautiful morning view
of the ocean, following with an fantastic breakfast.
- Mitchell (10/5): Beautiful property with hospitable owners - A beautiful property in a stunning location with very hospitable and attentive owners. Thank you both for a fabulous stay we highly recommend staying here! Mitch & Hanna
- Bruce (10/5): Serenity in the vineyards - Pine Hill Lodge is the perfect place to be! Absolutely breathtaking views, the most wonderful hosts, and conveniently located to everything. The lodge is immaculate and the attention to details is unsurpassed. Paul’s pancakes and scones are extraordinary! We will return to the most serene place we have ever been!!
- Fiona (10/5): Pine Hill Lodge highly recommended - Excellent accommodation in a very peaceful setting. Delicious breakfast and easy access to Abel Tasman National Park.Pine Hill Lodge
- 808TATW (10/5): Wonderful stay in the vineyards - Pine Hill Lodge is an awesome retreat in Ruby Bay. The 3 guest rooms are located in a brand new guest wing and have all the amenities for a perfect getaway. There are some common areas, including a courtyard with tables/chair and a BBQ. And of course an outside hot tub surrounded by vineyards. Each room has its own patio area where one can enjoy the continental breakfast served with freshly baked bread and scones, along with delicious homemade jellies and jams.
The proprietors are extremely welcoming and ready to assist with trips around the area.
Highly recommended!
- David (10/5): Great B&B in the Vinyards! - Just awesome hospitality! Beautiful views! New, clean and close to Nelson for awesome dining.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Base yourself here for Able Tasman exploration - We travel the world and have very high standards.
Pine Hill Lodge is as clean, comfortable and well-designed as they come.
It is located on a lovely site and is hosted by two very pleasant people (plus their two "boys").
Highly recommended.
- Jim (10/5): Quiet retreat in amongst the vines. - Only stayed one night, will make sure to arrange next time to stay longer.
- mark (10/5): Beautiful - Stunning part of the country and the property is in a beautiful and peaceful setting. Lovely generous hosts, would stay here again in a heart beat
- Keegan (10/5): Peaceful Vineyard Retreat - Had a wonderful stay at the Pine Hill Lodge a few weeks ago. The lodge was brand new, clean, views were breathtaking, and the owners were extremely helpful. Jeanette was so helpful and made us feel at home. I would recommend the lodge to anyone heading to the area and would love to visit again.
- Simone (10/5): Beautiful views over vineyards out to ocean. - The hosts were extremely welcoming and helpful.
The accomodation was spotless and breakfast lovely.
- Charles (10/5): A little slice of Paradise - I can't fully express just how wonderful and lovely the Pine Hill Lodge is.
My boyfriend and I only stayed one night and arrived late (9pm). However it was one of the most memorable nights of our trip. We arrived and were welcomed like old friends by the owner (i feel awful for forgetting her name). We had a beautiful room which was clean and a very good size with a pleasant en-suite bathroom and small kitchenette with fridge and cooking utensils.
It was a clear night so we jumped in the outdoor hot tub spa for an hour or so, and boy are we glad we did! It was the most beautiful night sky i've ever seen with the milky-way beautifully clear, shooting stars left right and centre, we were even paid a visit by the ISS, topping it all off so wonderfully. Then had a great nights sleep in a very comfortable bed.
The next morning we were treated (and I really do mean treated) to a wonderful freshly made breakfast, with everything from the bread and croissants to the granola being homemade that morning. My boyfriend and I don't usually eat breakfast but we simply couldn't refuse such a wonderful spread of yummy food. We ate our breakfast in the morning sun on the courtyard and even managed a cuddle with the owners two lovely dogs.
All in all we didn't want to leave and wish we could have stayed a couple more nights at the very least!
- theo (10/5): Amazing views of the vineyard - This B and B was the nicest I have seen in my 3 weeks in new Zealand. it is located on an actively maintained (and amazingly groomed) farm and vineyard. I was able to see the pinot gris vines and the ocean from my room.
The hosts had an amazing attention to detail, from the home-baked bread in the morning, to the hot tub, to the beautiful and secluded picnic area by the pond.
- Jacob (10/5): Exceptional place - Place of international world class and excellent value for the money. They did everything to make us feel at home and were very helpful with our enquirers. Delicious breakfast and scones!
- DAN (10/5): - Beautiful setting and the owners were lovely. Quiet with good views. The bed was comfortable and the shower was great. Breakfast was tasty with excellent croissants. The wifi was a little weak and the bath could use some more counter/storage space. We were there three nights and thoroughly enjoyed it
- Filomena (10/5): Nice to arrive at such a tranquillity place. - It was a great feeling on not knowing what to expect, the views, the peacefulness and of course the welcome.
- Shamaneka (10/5): - Large room with most spectacular views!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely boutique accommodation set in vineyards - Enjoyable stay in lovely surroundings . Jeannette was so friendly and helpful .
- Christopher (10/5): A dream location! - My wife and I stayed here for our first two nights of our honeymoon trip in New Zealand. We absolutely loved it. It was quiet and beauitiful, but surrounding by so many wonderful activities to do within 45 minutes driving distances. We would recommend this to anyone... Next time we are back on the South Island, we'll be staying here for a longer preiod of time! P.S... A wonderful breakfast is in store as well!
- P (10/5): Good place to stay on Ruby Bay - We stayed for two nights at the Pine Hill Lodge - the house is a very nice quiet location within a small vineyard.
The room is modern, very clean, and very comfortable.
The location to Mapua, and easy access to SH60 and Nelson and the rest of the Tasman region was appreciated.
- Robin (10/5): Beautiful vineyard and sea view - Very quiet and comfortable. The hosts were very kind and friendly
- Verified traveler (10/5): Peace in the midst of a vineyard... - Wonderful B&B in the midst of a beautiful vineyard. The owners were super helpful and made every detail perfect. The setting is just awesome. A wonderful place to relax and enjoy.
- Karina (10/5): Peaceful indulgence among the wines - The rooms are beautifully appointed and very comfortable. Each room had its own little sitting area outside and in addition there was a shared patio which was perfect for the delicious breakfast. The room was very clean when we arrived and they kept it that way during our stay. The service was really good, when the hosts learned that we would have a bit of time in Hong Kong going home they prepared a suggestion for how to spend the time there.
- Anne (10/5): Beautiful tranquil surroundings. - Beautiful tranquil with very accommodating and staff who made our stay magical.
- Christopher (10/5): NZ getaway - Very restful stay. B&B is set on an absolutely stunning property, surrounded by rolling hills covered in vines, ocean view from the top of the hill, and a very comfortable room and bed to ensure a restful stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful location - We can highly recommend Pine Hill Lodge. We spent two nights there - the location is fantastic and the hosts Jeanette and Paul go out of their way to make sure they have provided everything that a guest could need. We especially liked the fact that we were able to enjoy the benefits of a B and B, but also have a very private space to ourselves. Many thanks, J & P.
- Jacq (10/5): Beautiful, stylish and romantic - Nestled on a working winery, this brand new feeling b&b surpassed our expectations. Fabulous fresh and tasty breakfast arrived to the room on time by the friendly and gracious hosts. Gorgeous outdoor hot spa. Highly recommended.
- Man Nghi (10/5): Private and discreet - We hate B & Bs where you have to be involved with the hosts and interact constantly. With Pinehill Lodge we were left alone whenever we wanted to be but they were on hand whenever we needed something. Very knowledgeable of the local area and dining options plus local attractions.Breakfast (included) options were extensive and prepared well. A great location nearby Mapua with leisure activities easily available plus not far from the Abel Tasman National Park. But more than anything it was the secluded spot within the vines which really left an impression. Would recommend very highly and we will stay with them again.
