Guest Reviews
- Jaiswal (6/5): Pleasant -
- Prasad (2/5): Very poor - Nothing Complimentary breakfast was hopeless / very bad
Room is conjested.
Bathroom lights are too dim.
No TV channels ( payment not made)
Window locking is not working, we made a temporary setup to lock it.
- Ram (4/5): highly priced with respect to facilities - location food
- T (4/5): Disappointing - Mediocre. AC was not functioning.
- Verma (7/5): Good - Everything was fine except the washroom.
- manisha (4/5): Not worth it - This is a budgeted hotel No ambience no maintanence/upkeep No difference between deluxe and premier rooms except one fridge There were some summer insects in room The breakfast person told us to stir the tea with butter knife Huh ?? We stayed for 2 nights Our purpose was served but just accomodated ourselves Cant relax !the only pluspoint its in the middle of market and Restaurant Anju coco having good food is next to it
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent location Courteous staff well maintained
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Upon arrival we checked in ok but was told the key was in the room. We were not escorted to the room and no attempt was made to help us with our luggage. Very unprofessional. Staff need some basic reception training.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very good service. They even keep ready your complimentary breakfast at 3 am in case you need it.
- Ankur (2/5): Very Disappointed! Dirty and Mouldy!! - Hotel was located in a convenient location. However, stay at hotel was very disappointing. We paid for Premium bedding, Wifi, TV Channels in the rooms and Refrigerator in the room. Bedding and towels provided by the hotel had blood stains on them. When asked to have them replaced, the replacements also had the same issues. Bathrooms were very dirty and fungus/mould growing on the bathroom walls. Blankets had bed bugs and mould growing in the blanket. When asked to have this replaced, the replacement blanket had blood stains on it.
Room surfaces were not wiped down and pretty dusty.
We had an issue with not being able to change the temperature of the Air Conditioner which had been set at 18degrees. It took the staff over 3 hours to organise for someone to come and have a look at the problem. The controller was hard wired to the air conditioning unit. We were told to change the temperature through the hard wired controller, which was super inconvenient, as we had to get out of bed in the middle of the night to adjusted the temperature.
The room mentions that it comes with a refrigerator, however this is incorrect. There was no refrigerator in the room. Very disappointed with the stay at J Hotel.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Facilities are subpar for price.
Staff needs to be more knowledgeable on tourist activities for guests.
- Narsi (6/5): Okayish rooms but decent service and good food - The hotel room was okay. It is right in the middle of Aberdeen Bazar and a lot of prominent places are walkable from the hotel. The room isn't in a great condition for the price they charge. The executive room we stayed in was spacious and bathroom was decent. But It smelled of moisture and the tiles were broken.
I'd give a thumbs up to the restaurant. The food was great and the ambience is good too. We ate at the restaurant for the most part although some famous seafood restaurants are quite accessible from the hotel.
- subbu (4/5): - Bad room, stained sheets, smelled musty. No internet in rooms, elevator was not working few days.
- Dr. Sebastian (8/5): - Very good service, clean rooms, good location!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Shockingly bad!! - The reception lady is rude, the rooms are crusty, the wifi works intermittently, this is possible the worst hotel I have stayed at in my life.
- martine (8/5): Great location and good value for money - Location great - easy access to the Aberbeen Bazaar and market. Room clean and overall, the staff friendly and helpful. Wifi a little hit and miss.
- Rohit (4/5): - This hotel is located at the centre of a busy and not-so-good-looking market. The window of one of our rooms opened to the back of an alley which was filled with trash. The location didn't give us a vacation vibe at all.
When we arrived, the elevator wasn't working for the first day. The WiFi wasn't working for most of our five day stay which was very annoying because we needed to look up information about what places to visit etc. (Cellular internet doesn't work in the Andamans.) The hotel didn't have any maps or travel guides of the Andamans either.
The roof-top restaurant and the complimentary breakfast were good. Both the restaurant food and the staff were a delight.
- Erica (2/5): This hotel is horrific - We had an awful experience here - we had to change rooms three times. The rooms are dirty, smelly and noisy. Two of the rooms had cockroaches. As yet, no response from customer services!
- patricia (4/5): Not so great - First of all, there was no hot water, barely toilet paper and air freshener to cover the smell of mold. It's a shame because the hotel building has potential to make it a good boutique hotel. I would of rather pay a little extra for something that I thought I was paying for.
- nalini (6/5): - Clean room but so so bed, no real wifi.
- Sanjib (10/5): Nice Hotel in the Heart of the PortBlair City. - Most of the places are close by. Nice Restaurant and good Indian food plus courteous staff.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not bad, not good... - We had room booked for two but there was only one set of towels. The hotel staff did not give us the additional towel even if we asked for it.
There was no wi-fi signal in the room, the only place with signal was at the reception.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Average impression - We were staying in this hotel for 3 nights but our room was not cleaned even once. It turned out that nobody from the hotel staff informed us that we were supposed to leave our key at the reception in order to have the room cleaned. There was no wi-fi signal in our room.
The reception staff was not sympathetic at all. We would not stay in this hotel again.
- Sudhir Kumar (8/5): Will stay there again if visit Port Blair - Stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. Wonderful staff. Nice people at reception. Everyone was very helpful. Hotel says they have doctor available, not correct. Got food poisoning and ask for doctor.
was told no doctor is available so I have to go to Hospital. Not a good experience though I was treated very well at the private hospital near airport.
- Mohamed (4/5): Stained Sheets - A horrible feeling! - I was expecting a pretty good day's rest here as I had a flight early morning. But that dint happen so. Hotel looked clean and modern. While checking in, the guy at the reception was having a tough time conversing in English. It was acceptable for me. Not an issue. Then I went to the room. It looked clean and tidy and cozy. But then I looked at the sheets. The sheets had many stains on them on one side of the bed. I could see the stains on the blanket as well. Since one side of the bed was clean enough(of what I could see) I dint make a fuss about it as I was really tired.
I had ordered for some food and a milkshake. Instead of getting it together, I got the milkshake first and after around 15 minutes the food. I dont know why they would send me both at different time when I ordered them at once.
The breakfast was very average. It was only Indian cuisine so people who prefer non oily breakfast might find it a tough thing.
