Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was superb and my daughter and I, thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Highly recommended.
- Tiffany (10/5): Right by Van Dusen Gardens! - Beautiful house, comfy bedding, luxury accommodation. The staff was very knowledgeable and gave us dining and sightseeing recommendations. Breakfast was tasty- a baked apple custard and stoneground oats. They are updating their furniture this week so it will be even nicer.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Likes: the staff were very helpful and courteous. The size of the room was good. The house was located on a bus route to get into the city centre. We felt that we could come and go as we pleased.
Beverages were available in the dining room 24 hours per day.
Dislikes: the owners appeared to be living on past glories and they were saving on costs. In our bathroom, 3 lights had had their bulbs removed, no headboard on the bed, damaged decor not repaired, chair seat cushions used as cushions for the settee, there was a notice saying that if you take shampoo from the bathroom you would be charged (we were paying 400 Canadian dollars per night and we stayed six nights). No greeting from a human being, all key codes to enter the house and room. The bathroom looked as though it had been installed in the 1970s and hadn’t been updated. Very noisy road in a residential area, lacking amenities such as shops and cafes.
We don’t recommend this accommodation, better accommodation is in plentiful supply in Vancouver. Try the Georgian Court hotel as a comparison.
- Debbie (10/5): - It was amazingly clean and quiet even though there were about 10 other people there, we didn’t realize it until morning. It had all the amenities of a hotel, best shower I’ve ever had. Bed was comfortable, room a good size with fridge & safe. I would highly recommend this B&B even to those who only do hotels. Give it a chance.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful place to stay. Randy was an excellent host. We truly enjoyed breakfast too.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good location to go by bus to the Waterfront.Walking distance to the botanical garden. Difficult to find: idea: put up a flagpole with the Canadian flag to guests can easier find the B&B. Staff excellent.
- Dianne (10/5): Highly recommended - Close to our boat on Granville Island. Easy to find. Secure parking where we could see our car. Friendly & professional staff. Delicious breakfast, generous portions. Clean and well organized. Safe & secure. A safe in the walk in closet for valuables. Comfortable bed and sofa, jetted tub was luxurious! Very pleased with everything. Quiet room. Didn't even know there were other guests until we saw them at breakfast.
- Sherri (10/5): - The owners took care of us from the moment we arrived early to extending our stay, all of which were seamless. They recommended things to do and places to stay. The breakfast was amazing!👍
Personally created daily, and served in a very timely manner. We even had my second daughter and boyfriend come for breakfast on 2 of the mornings.
Safety is a priority for the hosts which is key to a relaxing holiday.
- Cola (8/5): - If I go to Vancouver again, I will live here again. It is pretty good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Owners were lovely :) Was easy to find and quite clean . Would have liked a variety for breakfasts , we stayed four days. Bed was a tad hard , we prefer it to be a bit softer but that's just us. Over all we would stay again , was very nice!
- Martha (10/5): Great stay - A few days before our stay we got the codes to get into the B&B and our room. When we arrived, we had no problem finding the place, parking, getting in, and finding our room. The room was immaculate with a larger than expected bathroom (we had two sinks and a large soaking tub) as well as a small refrigerator, coffee maker and tea selection (there was more tea and coffee selections in the kitchen area). The bed was quite comfortable and both of us got a great night sleep. Breakfast was delicious, they had organic Irish Steel Cut Oats out with toppings and the entree was a hot baked egg dish. They handled my dietary restriction brilliantly (which is always a stressful part of travel for me). Randy served breakfast and have us ideas of things to do and see. He was very friendly and informative. Overall, it was a great stay and we will definitely stay here again as well as recommending them to our friends.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We love staying at this place! Excellent hosts and lovely rooms. Breakfast are incredible!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beds are so so so comfy! No problem getting a good night's sleep even being away from home.
- Jerry (10/5): Granville B & B a great place - We had a comfortable stay at the Granville B & B. The lady was very friendly. The place was quiet and we liked that. It is convenient with the key code for entry. We stay there again.
- Mike (10/5): - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Granville House. We arrived early and Randy suggested a wonderful lunch option located within a beautiful public park. We would not have discovered either on our own, so our visit to Vancouver got off to a very cool start. Granville House, and our room were exceptional, and the breakfast each morning was simple, nutritious and delicious. My wife and I had a great experience and would highly recommend this property.
- JandyMac (10/5): - Excellent bed and breakfast, quite distance from shopping and restaurants but on bus route if you do not have a car. We stayed low season, therefore, continental breakfast. Would have liked a little more variety for breakfast such as muffins and fresh berry fruits. Otherwise, no complaints. Hosts very attentive. Would definitely stay at Granville B&B. Thank You, Pam, Randy and Michelle.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Decent, clean, modern and fancy. - It was good. It’s shoe free on inside. Slippers in closet downstairs. Parking at back of property in back lane in front of garage and back gate. No complaints.
- LeeAnneOpenshaw (8/5): - Proximity to city
Traffic noise into the night
Cooked breakfast mediocre
- Verified traveler (4/5): NOISY, NOISY, NOISY - The front rooms face a very busy and noisy road. i found it impossible to sleep with earplugs and a pillow over my head. Another guest complained about the noise, but got some medical cannabis so she could sleep.
- Samuel (8/5): Quiet house located away from city center - The house was clean and well cared for. Location was good for us being close to the Vancouver Canadians stadium. The price was reasonable.
- Chris (10/5): - Very comfortable and large room. Michelle was very helpful with recommendations for restaurants. Nice hot breakfast and all-day self service hot drinks. Nice and quiet location but you will need a car or a bus pass to get around. Try to visit the wonderful Botanical Gardens nearby.
- Cathy (10/5): - Room was clean and very nice. Bed was a little uncomfortable for me. Breakfast was good and check in was easy. Heard a little road noise.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The b&b was in a great location for the things we wanted to do. The room was comfortable and a lovely hot entree was available every morning. The owners were friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
- Lila (10/5): - Especially enjoyed the Alder Master. Very comfortable bed, great bedding. Would definitely book again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): One of the best B&B‘s - The location itself is great, however it is quiet noisy during the day because of proximity to mainstreet. Very cozy and nice interior, friendly staff, good breakfast, just missed some eggs. Very clean.
- Randi Hågård (10/5): A pearl! - Surprisingly lovely BB in Vancouver. Way more than the photos tell. Lots of traffic outside, but with the room facing the garden, it was very quiet. Very comfy bed. Nice staff, and super breakfast. Regrett we could not stay there for more than one night.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great host! - Yummy breakfasts. Great location. Front room had traffic noise if window was open but very quiet if closed. If you are not familiar with Vancouver, the host is a fantastic source of info and could give some great suggestions about the area.
- Julie (8/5): Perfect location - We had an all day Sunday meeting at the Van Dusen Botanical Gardens and we walked from the B&B. The B&B was also easy to get to from the hotel using the Canada Line and a taxi from the Oakridge Shopping Centre
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A lovely, comfortable and very well run B and B. The food was delicious and plentiful.
Great public transit.
The only drawback is the fact that it is situated on a busy street so there was quite a bit of road noise, even with all windows closed, in our front room. This would probably not be an issue in a room facing the back.
We will definitely stay there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent B & B - This was my second stay at the Granville House, and I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Beautiful room, great location for me with respect to the family that I was visiting, lovely breakfast. I look forward to my next stay.
- TK (10/5): - Overall rating is excellent, friendly staff and clean comfortable room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good but could be much better - Stayed in Birch jr. suite - beds were comfortable and bathroom was a good size. Vent in bathroom did not work and toilet stopper had issue so water continuously ran on occasion. Bedroom shade and blinds did not work so couldn't darken the room totally at night. Lighting was not very good in the bedroom. Breakfast was ok, need more variety for people who stay longer than a day or two. Enjoyed the location and neighborhood.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Home away from home - Our entire stay at the Granville B&B was relaxing and comfortable. As soon as you walk in it offers a homey feeling and the whole process from start to finish went smoothly. Common area and rooms were immaculate, the king bed and soft sheets were a welcoming comfort after a long day of walking around the west end. You can't beat the price of this place considering you get a top notch breakfast that rivals any top end hotel. Only slight downfall was that it was just a tad out of the way from major landmarks which really was a non issue, will highly recommend and will definitely be back for further Vancouver excursions, thanks for the top shelf accommodations and service!
- Jan (8/5): - Lovely home and furnishings but unfortunately on a major thoroughfare resulting in constant roar from passing vehicles night and day in the rooms facing the street
- Rosario (10/5): Excellence and satisfaction. - Great experience I have always wanted to stay in a Breakfast and Bed it was excellent. Everything was as advertised I would recommend this place to everyone. Very satisfied and I would do it again.
- Susan (10/5): Comfort away from home - Our hosts were very gracious and we had a great experience, wish we could have stayed longer
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very quiet for such a central location. - Very nice house. Lots of space. Modern. Central to YVR, downtown, Grandville Island and beaches. Would use Grandville B and B again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely B and B - Lovely B and B. Clean, up to date and quiet.
I do wish there was an actual sidewalk and not small stepping stones around the house. . As you enter at the back and go round the house to the front door to enter. It was muddy for wheeling suitcases.
- libby (10/5): - Great place to stay before morning flight home.
No staff to welcome as all room access is key coded. Helpful if informed would receive email with codes before arrival, as not aware and travelling so not looked at emails. Spent some time sorting this out when arrived. Otherwise a great place to stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): quite good! - a very good place to stay
needs some exterior powerwashing and painting here and there
- Carol (8/5): Nice house close to public transit - We were visiting family in the area and this B & B was handy for taking the bus either to visit our family or to go to downtown Vancouver. We felt at home here. Our bedroom faced a busy street, and the window was not very air-tight so there was a fair bit of road noise and it was quite cold. Our room and bathroom was ready for some paint touchups and the bathroom needed some attention (missing towel rack and grout needed attention) The bedding is luxurious and the bed comfortable. The dining area and sitting area on the main floor are very nice and the breakfasts good. Claude was very friendly and helpful.
- Joan (8/5): - Lovely big room. Very quiet. Congenial host. Great location (if you have a car)
- Mrs. Q (10/5): Great experience - We were very happy staying here. Not only did it meet all of our expectations and more, Claude was beyond helpful with all of his suggestions for maximizing our time In Vancouver. Our trip was wonderful and comfortable.
- Colleen (8/5): Nice comfortable home - nice clean house with easy parking:)
- Verified traveler (10/5): Super Confortable - This B&B is amazing! My wife and I enjoyed all of it. Very clean, and the best bed and pillows I've ever experienced. Convenient proximity to the airport and Downtown. Great place, I recommend it.
- John (10/5): A pleasant surprise in expensive Vancouver! - Good wifi, very good breakfast, attentive and friendly host. Slightly loud traffic, but more than acceptable considering the convenient location. The home is well maintained, except for a wobbling toilet. It is easy to understand how the owners have missed this maintenance, but it should be fixed. I would like to stay again and see if my next visit is equally enjoyable. My "property condition" rating would improve to 5 out of 5 with a properly attached toilet. Photos on the website did not do my room justice. My room was much nicer.
- Mary Ann (10/5): Comfortable B&B with old Vancouver charm - We were in the city for a medical appointment and needed a good night's sleep. This B&B was near enough to Vancouver General Hospital and available for a last minute booking. I thought we had booked the large ground floor room but was pleasantly surprised that we were given a comfortable room upstairs where the traffic noise would be less. Truthfully, even though this is right on busy Granville Street, the night traffic was not a problem and I slept undisturbed. This older Vancouver home is a classy place to stay. I recommend it without hesitation.
- Jayne (10/5): Vancity gem - Cozy B&B at the edge of a neighbourhood of graceful older homes. Convenient to downtown & highway, very helpful personable hosts!
- Rae (8/5): A B&B that excels in both categories. - Granville House is a very comfortable accommodation, with charming hosts that understand the hospitality business. The room is comfortable, clean, and with more than adequate, and much appreciated, storage. The breakfasts were generous and filling to start you on your day. Lots of great recommendations from the hosts on where to dine, and what to see and do in the area. The inn is on a busy street, however we were not bothered by noise and slept very well. Adequate off street parking, too. We have already recommended Granville House to friends.
- Nancy (10/5): - We arrived late and had to leave early so had no contact with the owners.
Continental breakfast was limited and would have loved to have tried the hot breakfast however it was served too late for us (due to start times for business meetings)
