Guest Reviews
- Vinton (10/5): - Property is located at the bottom of a lane and so is quite quiet. It has a nclean outdoor swimming pool. The food in the hotel is standard and across the lane is the Pure Soul restaurant that has good food and many kinds of fruit drinks; it is operated by the same management. All around excellent Indian-standard. Recommended.
- Sandra (10/5): - I’ve stayed at Dewa several times and find it’s it’s the perfect Rishikesh hotel - quiet but walking distance to everything, very comfortable space, great food, and I love the adjacent organic cafe. Staff is superb, so helpful & kind! I’d suggest getting a Mountain view room.
- Patrick (8/5): - Nice views, very nice and helpful staff, great food, restaurant has a good atmosphere, the property has good access to the Ganges.
- Vakul (10/5): - Excellent experience, very friendly and helping staff. Loved it
- Shikhar (10/5): stay with family during monsoon - Stay was comfortable. Rooms are clean, spacious and well lit. 10 min walk to laxman jhula. Buffet breakfast can be improved. Overall a hood stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Recently added yoga hall is one of the best in Rishikesh. Solar panels also added.
- Mira (8/5): Great staff, peaceful home base in Rishikesh - We were recommended the hotel from friends of the owner, so we had excellent treatment from the friendly staff. We were there for trekking and outdoor activities (Dewa Adventures), so we didn't experience much of Rishikesh's spiritual attractions, but we enjoyed the ayurvedic treatments at the in house spa, and the yoga facilities with free morning classes are nice. The organic cafe next door and the in house Indian restaurant have high standards of hygiene, the breakfast is a combination of Indian and international; NB all vegetarian. While it's not a luxury hotel, the prices are reasonable, and the amenities, including a pool, are pleasant. Easy 15 minute walk to town (Laxman Jhula bridge), but very quiet and peaceful at night. Wifi could be stronger/more reliable on the 3rd floor.
- boopertrooper (10/5): - Helpful staff and two restaurants. Close to Laxman Jhula. Rooms are super clean with AC and heater. Extremely comfortable stay and will definitely recommend to friends
- Michelle (10/5): - A fabulous stay in Rishikesh. Gorgeous views from my room and the garden terrace, attached to a great restaurant. Location was just a short walk (5-7 mins) down to Lakshman Jhula, markets and more. Friendly and helpful staff, I will stay there again when in Rishikesh.
- Darryl (10/5): 2 night stay - Good stay, food was fine and hotel comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful
- anand (8/5): - Pleasant experience. Good food choice, trifle bland. Breakfast variety limited. Definitely not value for money place.
- Cassie (10/5): very nice - great location, friendly staff, laundry service was cheap, and the view was beautiful. The room service food was mediocre and not enough bottles of water were provided. If you are looking for a spa type of experience this would be a good place, did not dabble in that area but there was many spa treatments available.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Super accommodating. The manager is amazing!! - I would highly recommend Dewa retreat centre. Food is outstanding!
- ilana (10/5): Beautiful mountain retreat - We spent 4 days at the Dewa Retreat hotel and had a wonderful time. The staff were so polite and accommodating to all our needs. The mountain view rooms with balcony were worth the extra cost. There were options for breakfast and all food was fresh and healthy. The pool area and grounds were kept clean and tidy with maintenance staff available and when there was a problem with our air conditioning they resolved it as quickly as possible. We highly recommend this hotel and hope one day to return .
- Deepak (6/5): Clean hotel not too far from Laxman Jhoola - The restaurants worked quite well, decent food in both the restaurants. The staff was helpful. However, neither the wifi nor their card readers worked reliably. We ended up creating our own hot-spot to get communication established with family. Also, we had to pay the room rent in cash because they could not read our credit/debit cards.
The shower area also left a lot to be desired, water collected, it seems the drains were clogged.
- Arturo (10/5): Simple, elegant hotel with great service - The Dewa Retreat is a simple and elegant hotel with perhaps the best service we received while traveling through India. They were able to arrange after-hour massages for us, give us very informative and detailed directions and suggestions of what to do in Rishikesh, book us a car to the rail station in Haridwar... I could go on and on. The hotel's immediate neighborhood is not perfect but is easy walking distance to the Lakshman Jhula, where there are plenty of cafes with great views. It is also near a tuk tuk stand on the main road which provides easy access to other parts of Rishikesh.
- Erlend (10/5): Beautiful, quiet hotel with great service - We had an amazing stay at Dewa Retreat. The only thing we can put a finger on is the fact that the towels by the pool were simply rolled up again after use so the next person got a (potentially) dirty towel. We solved this by bringing our own towels from our room. I think this is simply an oversight, because everything else was so perfect and clean.
- Pratik (4/5): Avoid this Hotel especially if you are Indian - I booked a Deluxe Suite (top category) in this hotel a month and a half in advance and had requested for a room with a view (top floor) but on arrival was given a room on 1st floor (lowest) instead sighting reasons of rooms being booked, that's absolutely strange! Guess best rooms are meant only for Foreigners or White Skinned unless the hotel is empty. Neighborhood is Dodgy and Ambiance is just ok. Hotel arranged for white water rafting next day which was good but asked me to move to another room instead as they had a booking to fill and wouldn't extend my stay by an hour in the same room which is ok. But the room I was moved to, was a much lower category and did not have basic amenities like towels/toiletries, Bad Bad customer service and no consideration given that I was accompanied by old parents! Internet access/password is weird. Breakfast is below average; made bland as per Foreign taste, just a handful items and not much of a spread. Avoid this place if possible. I guess I deserved a better service as I did pay in full and didn't stay for Free! I might sound racist but that's how I felt during my stay even though I was in my own country!
- Mireille (10/5): Merci pour ce séjour - Excellente prise en charge à notre arrivée. Personnel très professionnel.
le personnel au café du restaurant est très souriant.
- Pam & Cheryl (8/5): good location and very clean - excellent - I would recommend it to all my friends
- Kundan (10/5): Close to River Ganges and Laxman Jula - The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff were very attentive and helpful. The food was delicious and fresh. Would definitely recommend this hotel
- Ajitesh (10/5): - Enjoyable stay. Friendly staff and made us feel comfortable
- maan (10/5): a little gem in the Himalayas.. - very friendly and helpfull staff.
- Abhishek (10/5): Excellent comfortable Stay with a Lot of warmth. - - Enjoyed the luxuries of the Hotel including a clean Swimming Pool and well furnished Library.( with lots of popular books)
- Good Ambiance and USP of the Hotel is the warmth of the Staff.Prompt Service at most of the times.Always looking to go extra mile for its guests.
- Dmitry (10/5): Very good - I have booked this hotel for my wife and she says she had a wonderful time. The hotel is classy (pleasant surprise for India) and clean, the pool too. The room was nice and comfortable. The personnel were polite and did everything to help and make her stay there unforgettable. The restaurant food was very good. She'd positively like to visit this hotel again.
- Nipun (8/5): good place to stay in rishikesh - Decent stay...very good food...special word for the staff and service - extremely polite and courteous, didn't hesitate to go the extra mile to accomodate a request.
recommended stay!
- MAHESH (8/5): - Hotel stay was quite pleasant.Food was good & was of good quality.Room rate are on higher side.
- victor (10/5): Comfort & Spirituality aren't mutually exclusive - Traveled solo in mid March 2015
Fantastic 4* boutique hotel with a great location (5 mins walk from Luxman Jula)
For the traveler not wanting to rough it while in Rishikesh.
Pros
-Amazing restaurant that is worry free
-Swimming pool + A nice little spa
-Service is what separates this place apart
-Rooms are very clean & modern
Cons
-wifi isn't the greatest
- Deepak (8/5): Excellent hospitality - Worth the place to be, you are given personnel attention for all your needs
- Joanne (10/5): Well looked after - They helped me arrange transport to and from the hotel, really made my stay very comfortable and all the staff are warm and attentive. I really enjoyed my stay here, fresh air, calm atmosphere, very beautiful Himalayan views.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great Customer Service - From the moment we arrived at the hotel, the experience was great. Once we left, I realised I had forgotten something at the hotel and the hotel were kind enough to send it out to me.
- Verified traveler (2/5): not a hotel - Its not hotel
It is less then motel
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice room but bad location - The room is nice but the problem is location. There was not far from Laxman Jhura, however surrounding was too bad.
- Narendra (10/5): - Hotel is very nice. Very new property with clean and large sized rooms with good view of Himalayas
Property is well managed. Food has scope for improvement
Overall we enjoyed the stay
- Sam (6/5): Pretty good hotel - This hote has an impressive lobby and entrance and nice rooms. The furniture and bathroom vanity are badly made and not in keeping with the overall quality of the building. Restaurant was good and service very good.
- Gnomie (6/5): Unfinished feel - Clean, large and nice rooms, good view of the valley, good restaurant. But too expensive for what it is. Terrible wifi, pretty poor breakfast buffet, overheard loud quarrels between staff (and between staff and guests), no chairs on balcony, room service didn't clean my room on day 1. Needs more time to get things into shape.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Average - The staff were friendly and the manager accommodating. The room was nice and big. The WiFi did not work that well. The acoustics were poor and I could hear the bustle of activity out in the hall way. There was nothing major wrong and I felt safe.
- Bina (10/5): Fantastic service - Excellent
- Bina (10/5): Fantastic service - Simply the best hotel with good surrounding and very nice service.
- davidandmelissa (6/5): Outstanding management - We had a lovely stay at Dewa Retreat, despite the fact that they were experiencing technical difficulties with the power supply at the time of our visit. The manager was very apologetic about this and immediately ensured someone from Delhi came to sort out the problem. He went as far as he could to make our stay with them a memorable one by upgrading us to one of their nicest rooms. The rooms were all very clean and comfortable, equipped with all the necessary amenities, such as warm shower, AC and electrical heaters in all rooms. If something could be improved, we would advise to decorate the rooms a little more (ie paintings on the walls). The management being as it is, we are confident this hotel will maintain its high standards and can only get better!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I recently stayed at this hotel and my overall experience at this property was great. It may take a while locating the hotel initially but once you have reached there , you dont have to worry about anything , the front office staff is very courteous, the rooms( and bathrooms ) are clean , the food is delicious , there is a library room for book lovers with a big balcony which is hill facing, work was going on for spa room and swimming pool. Laxman jhula is 7-10 min walk away , Rishikesh ( Tapovan ) road & market is around 5-7 mins walk from the hotel. The nights are cool usually so woolens & jackets are advisable due to the winds mainly in the tapovan region of Rishikesh. I found the place really quiet so its ideal for those looking for a break from their hectic routine life..
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful stay - The hotel is new and the staff very friendly. They are located near the ganga river and the bars and shops, however, hidden away in a quiet spot, ideal to come back and have a relaxing night after a busy day in Rishikesh. The front rooms have a beautiful view of the mountais.
- Rick (8/5): Wonderful building - very confortable - This is an excellent option for the money! The room is very comfortable and the views of the front rooms are really good! Made our stay in Rishkesh very special.
