Guest Reviews

- Andrew (4/5): Disappointing - Receptionist was taking me to room ‘125’ and when we approached the room it didn’t even exist. He then went back to the reception to get a different random key. This was booked for me and my partner and there was only 2 pillows on the bed rather than 4. Towels were stained with makeup/fake tan and just looked dirty. ‘Flat screen tv’ was an old tiny tv that pulled out of a cupboard. Spiders webs everywhere, and felt completely unclean. Very disappointed.
- hawkar (1/5): i didn't expect uk have bad hotel like that , how many thing's i have to say ? - nothing , the worst place I had on my life nothing , even its take me long time to find room there is very mix
- Linda (7/5): - Bed
- Lamin (10/5): My stay was very good staff was good - Quite Clean
- Keen (5/5): - Good service on arrival. The rooms are very tired and basic. I knew this place years ago and it is now very run down.
- James (1/5): This hotel should not be open to paying customers. It is being used to house the homeless. - AVOID AT ALL COSTS! The hotel is being used to house the homeless and is unclean and in disrepair. The rooms we stayed in had not be cleaned and multiple things were broken. There were people roaming the corridors and making noise throughout the night and we felt unsafe. We only stayed the one night and then left to find another hotel. This hotel should not be open to the public, I would expect it violates all manner of health and safety and hygiene regulations.
We had stayed before and it was a bit run down but fine. It most definitely is not any more. AVOID!

- John (1/5): Too bad a place to stay - we left and found other accommodation. - Reception was unattended. When we found a man, he was on the phone whilst talking to us. He gave us a room key that did not work. We had to search to find him again to gain another key. He opened the doors in the bedroom block and left them to close in our faces as we went to the room location. He left us at the room without word or apology. The hotel block was awful - tired carpets, tired stairs, no restaurant or facilities of any kind. Soulless place. Hideous. We did not stay - we gave our key back and departed.

- Denmade (6/5): Good for a one night stop over - Friendly staff. Comfy and clean. It was a bed for the night close to where I needed to be the following morning. Bonus the Indian restaurant next to the entrance of the hotel was excellent 👌 Hair dryer didn't work in the bathroom. Decor needs updating and a hair dryer to plug in yourself would be good.
- Ruth (9/5): Excellent - We had a very late check in as our plane was delayed. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate this, sending a video of where the key would be and how to find our room.
- Lamin (10/5): -
- Keith (8/5): -
- RodAze (5/5): Avoid if U can... - Location was ideal as was travelling to Leicester. Staff seemed not bothered... The room carpet edges had balls of dust accumulated over time, toilet, though seemed clean from a distance..the seat not cleaned properly. The tea cup was still wet, my guess after a quick rinse
- Fiyori Tewelde (1/5): -
- Sarsh (4/5): Ok but lacking toiletries - The room as clean and also the bathroom. No obvious signs at front of property stating where the reception was even the taxi driver stayed with me until i got in touch with the receptionbut then still didnt know where it was, affer walking backwards and forwards for 5 mins. The man at the reception desk didnt know where to find the key card to my room until after 10 mins of waiting. Then to be told I was up on the 1st floor which I struggled to go up the stairs with disabilities and heavy luggage even though I'd stated this in the booking!! Once I got into the room there wasn't many refreshments pr toiletries in the bathroom MAINLY soap which is very much needed in a bathroom. Just a bar of soap would've been suffice.
- Sawbo (5/5): Good location but still a sad lack of attention to detail on the preparation of rooms - The location for us is perfect as we use this hotel when we visit family. Good secure parking.
The reception area looked and smelled much cleaner than on our last trip - so they are making some progress.
Plus the new Indian restaurant on site is very good. The usual nonsense with the search for a decent room - we tried 3 before we would accept one! These were the range of issues - either unfinished in the preparation, unclean rooms, lightbulbs not working, no TV, lack of pillows/towels, hard bed, toothpaste marks on the sink, no w.c rolls, dirty w.c........
Once we got an upgrade to a room in the Annex - then they are better in general. However, the colour of the product in the shower gel receptacle is very suspect!!!!
They just need to do basic checklists for the cleaning staff - and stick to them........
- Spencer (4/5): Disappointing - Nothing Clearly the photos on line must have been from a long time ago, the room was very dated and old and very shabby
- Tony (8/5): My third visit there in as many weeks, and represented very good value for money overall. - Room was recently refurbished, spotless and in excellent condition, with brand new furniture. There was no chair in the room, so had to sit on a small chest of drawers whilst I worked at the desk.
- Anderssen (5/5): -
- Tony (8/5): Those issues aside, the stay still represented good value for money overall. - Small but comfortable room, just right for a solo traveller and had all that I needed. Fantastic shower, not like those low pressure dribbles you sometimes get elsewhere. Had half a trouser press in the room. No soap or shower gel in the bathroom. No glass for water, but used cup. Fire alarm went off at 02:45- thanks to someone smoking in their room, I understand.
- Paul (3/5): - It was convenient The fire alarm at 2.30,
The rooms very old and tired
TV in room one didn't work then TV in room 2 not good either
I was lucky only staying one night
- Julia (5/5): An ok place for a short stay and this time I wasn’t above the gym ( very noisy) or the boiler room (also very noisy) it - Ideal for visiting family The single bedroom very small there was no to remote and toilet roll had to ask for both plus extra pillow and there was no shampoo/ shower gel in the bathroom also wardrobe door loose
- Sandhu (8/5): -
- Tony (8/5): Excellent value for money. Exactly what I was looking for. - Comfortable room and bed. Nothing in there that I didn't need or want. Shower excellent! No bin in the room. Had to leave litter on the table on departure.
- Aiju (2/5): Very large room is a positive but not clean and smells of mould and no soap in the toilet , left with dirty glass . - The guy at the reception desk was very kind and helpful and the room was very large. Cleanliness and lack of toiletries
- alan (5/5): Basic - as expected. Very thin single pillow, should you like your head supported. - It tells you something when reception has a notice dated 2017 that tells me about the refurbishment in the next 18 months. Has nobody bothered to look at this in 9 years! I think the refurb missed my room or needs doing again.
- Mareks (8/5): -
- Lamine (2/5): - 24hours reception The cleanness
- Ellis (10/5): -
- Liam (9/5): -
- Paul (1/5): Poor - Didn’t have the twin rooms an still took my payments Looks dirty an scruffy
- fletcher (8/5): Just what was needed for that weekend. - Quite and convenient. could have done with more than one pillow.
- marion (6/5): Well worth the money & surprisingly, a lot better than we were expecting. - Room was warm, good size, clean & everything worked. The man on reception was particularly hgelpful & very friendly There was some "background" (almost undetectable sometimes) bass drum type music playing all night.
- Dorothy (8/5): Pleasant, comfortable and convenient. We will stay again! - Very welcoming staff.
Comfortable room and good en suite.
- Sawbo (6/5): Comfortable hotel in good location, reasonable rates for rooms that need more care upon preparation. - This is a hotel that we have known and stayed in over the years as we are from this area originally and so have seen its ups and downs. We use mainly for convenience and proximity to family.
We were upgraded to the superior rooms in the annex. They are large and very comfortable and quiet. Very nice large fluffy towels.
BUT the attention to detail on cleaning and preparation of the rooms is sadly lacking!
Shame, because we can see that they are making improvements slowly to what could be a good hotel - as it has been at times over the years.
The new restaurant looks very inviting and has good reviews - we will try it on another occasion - even if not staying at the hotel.
It seems that this hotel is well frequented by workers/sales people on business during the week, as the car park has a lot of vans. But the parking spaces are plentiful and free to use as a guest. Also we had no disturbances in the early morning when they were leaving for work.
The rates are very reasonable - thankfully! We arrived and were not allowed to check-in early without paying extra - we know this hotel since years and with its rating - we were very surprised that there was no room ready/the receptionist insisted on the fee!!
So we came back nearly an hour after check-in time.
We were first offered a 2nd floor room - but the receptionist offered to give us ground floor - however, when we said we can climb stairs and presume that the 2nd floor would be quieter, he informed us that probably not so, as it was over the restaurant and near the front! We appreciated the honesty - he then upgraded us to a superior room in the annex.
Upon entering the superior room - there were several issues with what was supposed to be a 'ready to check-in room'; only 1 cup on the tea tray (with 1 empty saucer), 1 set of towels on the bed, but worse - popcorn, thread, bits of plastic on the carpet - obviously not well vaccumed and the w.c was not clean, nor was there any gel in the shower gel holder on the wall!! We went to complain at reception - because of the need to vacuum, the receptionist moved us to another superior room.
Upon entering, it was definitely cleaner carpetwise, still only 1 set of towels on the bed, both teacups in place - BUT - no toilet paper in the bathroom and most of the lampshades lopsided etc. The information folder in the drawer was also sticky and had coffee stains on some of the papers.....
All rather surprising after we had been told that we couldn't check in early as they were still prepping the rooms....;
There is no phone in the rooms to call reception - even though this is stated in the information pack - and there definitely used to be...... Think this is because the reception is not always staffed - there is a mobile to call - so perhaps some understaffing
There was a bin in the car park that was overflowing with rubbish upon our arrival - and was not cleared on our departure 2 days later.
- COLLINS (1/5): poor customer service despite the fact i had paid the fees, fees were a good price but poor service - nothing tbh, the wifi was free and the parking was free, the location was good with takeaways and shops close by, but i stayed for 7 nights and had no fresh towels, no change of bedding, no fresh tea or milk despite constant requests. the room was cheap but the reason was the lack of supplies etc nothing tbh, the wifi was free and the parking was free, the location was good with takeaways and shops close by, but i stayed for 7 nights and had no fresh towels, no change of bedding, no fresh tea or milk despite constant requests. the room was cheap but the reason was the lack of supplies etc
i left my watch in the room and the person who managed the hotel on a day to day basis refused me re entering the room to recover my watch which meant i lost the watch, a massive argument which is displayed on CCTV and he threatened to report me for parking with no authorisation. I wish for my watch to be replaced and have started the compaint with CAB
- Nangwiya (9/5): -
- Underwood (10/5): -
- Neil (8/5): Good value - Clean enough and the Indian food good and reasonable. Radiator in room 201 wasn't working but was a mild night
- Emilio (6/5): -
- Cimona (7/5): -
- Chris (1/5): DINGY DIRTY DRUGGY DUMP! Terrible after-care from hotel and booking.com. Stay away from both. - Nothing to like about this dirty, poorly run sleaze pit of a hotel. I was relieved to get out, but I have lost all of my money as a consequence. AVOID AVOID AVOID. I didn't like anything. I didn't like the men smoking drugs in the corridor, the music from neighbouring rooms, the arguing, the very uncomfortable mattress (I only sat on it but that was enough), the fact that the flooring was so rubbish it didn't reach the skirting boards, or the fact there were no towels in the room. I didn't like the litter all over the car park, the woman in the foyer who winked at me like a prostitute and called me love (possibly was one). I didn't like the dingy corridors that were like something out of an 80s horror film. The place is a s**thole. The manager walked past the men smoking drugs without any form of challenge so clearly no pride in the hotel or too afraid to kick them out) I told the manager I was leaving immediately. I wasn't prepared to stay, or subject my wife to this place. He wouldn't refund me, saying it was booking.com who needed to issue the refund. I don't like the fact that booking.com said it was up to the hotel to decide if I was owed a refund, leaving me in catch 22 with no way of recovering my losses. I am angry that, despite saying they would take this complaint seriously, booking.com have since offered me a pathetic £8.77 discount off my next booking, despite having lost the entire cost of my trip, plus another payment to find alternative emergency accommodation. I am not using booking.com again and warn anyone else to avoid the OYO Baby Westfield dump-of-a-hotel at all costs.
- Sidney (9/5): Very friendly and helpful - It near to everyone we need to see
- Jan Fredrik (4/5): -
- Peter (1/5): It’s a doss house -
- Sidney (9/5): Good value hotel you could not fault - They do not do breakfast yet but in the process on site Indian restaurant was very nice and good value for money and a great location for any where in Leicester
- Brian (5/5): - There was a room plus bed but no breakfast available. Looked like the hotel was being refurbished
- Edyta (5/5): It was just a night - N a N a
- Vijya laxami (5/5): - It was spacious There was only 1 towel for the both of us. We had to go out and buy some hand soap and shower gel because there were none in the bathroom .
- Sidney (10/5): Great value comfortable and great good - Do not do breakfast but the on site Indian restaurant was 5 star rating fantastic good and good value for money Every thing was great could not fault anything
- Harbhajan Kaur (8/5): Good hotel could go for an excellent if service is improved. - It’s a good property next to restaurant which opens in the evening. Has got gym which guests can use it. There were no one at reception 2-4 times I needed. Left message, no one call back
- Ronnie (10/5): -
- Emmanuel (10/5): -
- Amanda (3/5): Should have been half the price as it was basically just a room - there was no 'hotel" - Bed was fine The pictures used are old and so you are missed. The pictures show a dining room - currently thats a building site. The whole place is rundown and gardens/carpark unkempt. The room numbers were just pieces of paper stuck to the door.
- Jagdeep (1/5): Catfish of a hotel - "Catfish" of a Hotel – Utterly Appalling and Unsafe
Our stay at this hotel was an absolute disaster, falling drastically short of even basic expectations. Frankly, it felt like a complete "catfish" experience – the reality was a shocking contrast to what was presented.
From the moment we arrived, an unsettling and unsafe atmosphere permeated the property. Constant shouting and loud music created an environment that was deeply disturbing, especially with my pregnant wife by my side. This pervasive feeling of unease made it impossible to relax.
The room itself was an embarrassment. Throughout our entire stay, not a single bed was made, and our towels were never changed. We were left with just one towel until we had to specifically request another. Basic amenities were non-existent or dysfunctional: the kettle was plugged into a non-working switch, meaning no hot drinks were possible, and to top it all off, we had no hot water for the last two days of our stay.
While I understand that refurbishments were underway, leading to the unavailability of the bar, food, and other facilities, this does not excuse the appalling state of the room itself. Even considering only the room, this establishment is a disgrace to the Blaby area.
This was an appalling experience from start to finish, and I am certainly not letting this go without expecting action.
- Brian (7/5): OK - Location Room not cleaned twice
- Keith (4/5): - Not a lot. I've been staying regularly in the hotel for a number of years and it's generally been good. However, it seems to have been going downhill quite quickly over recent stays and, although it's convenient for my visits, I'm now really thinking about looking for an alternative.
- Vickie (1/5): Awful and unsafe - Nothing, I didn’t even enter the place it was like a building site and full of foreign people that were squatting there, was not safe for me and my daughter and the fact I couldn’t cancel or get a refund is a joke Everything
- Christine (10/5): -
- Danial (8/5): -
- Jayden (3/5): Disappointing. - Beds looked clean. Sink blocked, half a toilet roll, toilet seat kept falling, blood stains on shower curtain, shower head bracket loose, water either cold or boiling.
- Katie (2/5): Wouldn’t stay again. - Friendly staff Smell, no towels in room, half a toilet roll, brown shower gel, dirty sheets, hairs in bed, dirty/limescale toilet, grimy sink, rubbish bags in hallways
- Roukia (5/5): -
- Taufique hamza (9/5): -
- Laura (7/5): -
- Sidney (9/5): Great hotel - Nice room with comfortable bed and table with 2 chairs and plenty of room Did not do breakfast
- Andrew (7/5): Very happy - The staff member on late Saturday night was very good. I checked in 2245 and get was still very friendly and Informative. Room very clean and spacious.
The outside area could be tidyied up a little bit to give more kerb appeal but other than that it was very good Outside area but it's a minor point
- whitby (5/5): - Property itself could be a absolute winning place Basic
- Adewale (1/5): it is very frustrating to be there and be counting days to leave - There is nothing that went well. The staff are no where to be found. You need anything no one to talk to. The reception is empty most of the time. I regret booking the hotel There is no one to talk to if you need anything. The staff are horrible
- amanda (6/5): Price matched expectations would stay again. - The facility is clean. Short walk to shops. Will stay again. The window was broken and didn't close properly and the TV is very small. The location is quite noisy till late.
- Kinton (8/5): - How big the room was and easy to book in Limescale on the shower head , only one big towel between two of us.
- Gemma (8/5): Very comfortable and just what we needed - Perfect location and lovely room Bit of notice but not properties fault
- Chiagoziem (4/5): -
- Lisimba (5/5): - The Cost
- Lewis (1/5): Do not stop here it’s a drug rehabilitation house - Nothing Dangerous needles in the room dirty and not wanting to refund do not stop here
- Sienna (8/5): -
- Nabil (2/5): -
- Jeremy (9/5): It met our needs perfectly. - N/A
- Tina (6/5): Great place to stay to be near friends for celebration when they couldn’t put up the guests. - Basic hotel. Clean. Great staff. Good value budget hotel.
- Lisa (5/5): Good location but a little bit disappointed. - The person on reception was very friendly and apologetic for all the mix up and double booking Paid for a superior twin room but because of the double booking ended up with a standard one with a broken fridge, uncomfortable beds, bathroom with cracked tiles and mold and quite a few stains on carpet.
- Dean (8/5): -
- Mark (1/5): Cold, Dirty and the staff don’t really know what to do - There was an overpowering smell when we entered the room. It was like cleaning products as if someone had done a rush job. This was evident as the mirror in the room had streaks and smudges. The dust was bad one wall in the room was filthy. The room was cold even when we put the heat on. The staff were barely seen and had to be chased up. While waiting in the foyer the man behind reception. Took a very private phone call regarding someone in a house and court proceedings. I used to work here years ago when it was known as the Time Out hotel. Back then the hotel was buzzing the staff were amazing. The pool was open and busy now it’s empty. Overall very grim very cold and dated rooms a shell of what it used to be. Next time we will stay at a different hotel.
- YasminAli18 (9/5): Exceptional value for money! - Fantastic stay, exceptional value for money!
We had a great stay at Blaby Hotel. The quality for the price was outstanding, and the service truly made the experience special. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful at all times, reception were always available and quick to resolve any issues, no matter the time of day.
A huge bonus was the brand-new Indian restaurant on site, absolutely delicious food and such a lovely atmosphere.
We had a wonderful stay and will 100% be returning next Christmas. Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rooms can be made to be more modern in future, that will make hotel into a four star experience!
- Paul McKenzie (7/5): - Nice hotel room and bed was good . Bath was good No teabags.
- Nyasha (10/5): -
- Garry (6/5): - It was freezing in bedroom
- cort (1/5): There are not enough words to sum up how much this place disappointed me - Awful experience. It was more like a hostel for students or a halfway house for criminals. I didn't like anything about this place There was absolutely NOTHING to like
- Arry (6/5): -
- stephen (7/5): - Location great to get into Leicester by bus (20 mins) for a get together It was a very dated room, clean but needs a refit
- Darren (7/5): - Every time I stay at this hotel it takes multiple attempts to get a vat receipt, I'm still trying to get receipts from my last two stays and until I get them I will not be booking again. Several phone calls and emails and still no vat receipt! Lack of communication!
- Jessel (2/5): Didn’t stay in the end.Friends offerer me a room in there house - The carpets in the reception
Plus th do with a vacuum. Plus the cigarette butts and broken glass outside the reception would make a difference to walk into. Nothing, not advertised very well from the outside.
- jane (9/5): A clean and comfortable budget priced hotel - A very reasonably priced room which was perfect for my one night stay. Great parking, WiFi and gym facilities which were all free to use. Nothing fancy but very comfortable bed and great value for money.
