- Ong Du Du (9/5): Excellent accommodation in the adult area near Manila Bay. - 30 - 50 minutes from the airport with Large, quiet and comfortable non- smoking room close to Pedro Gil station and Robinson's mall in an adult area of Manila. Manila Bay and Rizal Park are nearby. And this is my new favourite hotel in Manila. The housekeeping was excellent. Requested changes in check-in and late check-in out....no problem. Staff here are great. No tea, coffee tea or milk supplied , but there is a mini mart across the street. [The room has a kettle].

- Takehiko (5/5): 50点。2度と泊まりたくない - 全般的にスタッフがにこやか。レストランの眼鏡ボーイ以外 2階のダンスクラブの騒音が酷くて不快。ティッシュすら無い。ポットはあるが、コーヒーカップはないのって、バカなの？洗面所に石鹸置きくらいあるべき。あと、夜寒いので布団が欲しい。薄い毛布がベッドにパツパツにセットされ、寒いんだよ！ あと全般的に設備が古い！USBとかエアコンとか電気系統を新しくして！

- Holland (6/5): Not bad but could easily have been much better. - Clean, and TV had good selection and internet was fast. I have been staying at Rothmans Hotel off and on since 2005. Before they had carpet but now the floors are plastic. The bar fridge was stocked with drinks and nibbles (which you paid for of course but it was a nice feature). Now the bar fridge is empty (but at least they have a bar fridge). There was complementary tea, coffee and milk. Now not. The meals were good but they only have white bread - no wholemeal. Really? They forgot the orange juice with the breakfast. When I called after room service they said they would check if it was included. They should know that it was included and they should have apologised for forgetting to bring it. When it finally came the orange juice was made from powdered chemicals - completely fake. Better to charge a few more pesos and provide real orange juice becasue that is what the menu says. They also have to make two trips each time to bring the change. What a hassle when you just wan to enjoy the meal whiole it is hot. Why can't the food be added to the hotel bill? (Just sign a receipt). Or at least deliver the food with a wallet with change? For me Rothmans used to be a four star hotel and a pleasure to stay at but now it is barely a three star. Would be so easy to improve the standard. Another point, which is no reflection on Rothmans Hotel: I caught a taxi from the airport. I asked how much it would be and the driver said it is all by meter. It was late, I was tired and I let my guard down. The meter said PHP1800. It should have been PHP300 I realised after. (I got a return taxi next morning for PHP400). He had rigged the meter. I shouldn't have paid but I had just come from Uganda where one dollar was 3,400 Shillings so was used to 'thousands'. Always agree on a price with the taxi driver before. Forget the meters.
