Guest Reviews
- Notani (10/5): Amazing experience and service - Our stay experience was very very nice, the staff and service is amazing !! Loved the rooms, cleanliness, food taste was great, spa services are also very nice.
Arya from the staff was very very helpful and kind, he helped a lot during our stay with everything and also made our anniversary memorable with decoration and floating breakfast, he remembered it as we only mentioned it once. Loved the overall experience and special Thanks to him !!
- Maggie (10/5): Recommended for couple travellers looking for nature - Villa is located at a very quiet and serene spot to enjoy the nature.
- Peter (10/5): spcious private pool villa - room is spcious and clean. the view is paddy field. i enjoy my stay in the villa. no complain
- Preeti (9/5): Great stay for relaxing! - Overall great property amid the fields. Very quite and relaxing. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The staff was also very sweet and courteous, every staff memeber would greet you everytime you meet them. Great place! Nothing
- Debasish (4/5): Disappointing - Nothing Pathetic location, foolish staffs, rubbish food quality.
- Jain (5/5): Passable - The rooms were good with a decent pool in every room. Facilities were also good . The food was very very bad. Indian vegetarian food options were very limited which I was fine with but the taste of the food was not good at all. The dal and vegetable we ordered for lunch was not made with fresh y They use frozen refrigerated gravies and dal.
Over all I can say that alam Puisi can be opted for a stay just in case you don have any other hotel options available. Opt for a room without breakfast because you are not gonna miss anything delicious ,manage your own food.
We also took a spa which was alright
- Lindsay (4/5): Disappointing - booked this villa after checking their website
Would not have booked if we knew
for rice terrace views from pool - no view
10 minutes from Ubud - definitely NOT 10 mins
- Khadija (7/5): Good -
- Mohamed (6/5): Staff was nice but the discription of the place should be explained - Staff was amazing Location and didn’t feel like private villa not worth for the money we paid
- Yasmina (5/5): Passable - The cleanness
- Cara (10/5): Would highly recommend this place to stay at! Whether it be short or long term. You will not be disappointed! - The room, the staff, the massage, and where it was situated. Privacy was awesome! Food was next level, service was top notch! There is nothing you can’t not like about the property. Loved every bit of it!

- Kladz (9/5): nice stay worth the money - nice facilities especially the private pool it’s a little interior and sometimes there were mosquitoes
- Kapil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gandhi (5/5): Passable - Everything Location was ok types
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We just spent 8 nights at this property. We had a great relaxing time. Staffs are very kind and attentive. This was our second time staying here. We booked a Villa with plunge pool: mind-blowing view to the rice paddy, huge outdoor pool, faultless service from all the staff. Alam Puisi balances traditional Balinese style with modern, comfortable amenities. One of the highlights was having such a large private pool to ourselves for the duration of our stay. The team here create such an oasis of calm and relaxation. The hotel offers only three times shuttle service to Ubud town and no return. Food in hotel requires improvement in quality and selection. Overall we have enjoyed our stay
- Abdul (6/5): - It was okay. Not as clean as you'd hope. Definitely outdated
- Verified traveler (6/5): Price was nice, but take the risk of being moved - Room and location was very pretty, as we have the one with a private pool that looked over the rice fields. However, on our last night, we had a 'plumbing' issue and was moved to another hotel further down the room which was much much smaller. It was obvious they were overbooked. We got a 'complimentary' dinner where the food was not great, they wanted to give us a complimentary which we didn't have the time to fit in. Overall, if they did not have to move us, we wld have been quite happy with the stay.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The staff at this place is not friendly or even courteous. I even found them a little rude, and for Ubud thats saying a lot. This villa is way over rated and overpriced. There is nothing to do around this villa, its out of the way and we just didnt like it nor enjoyed it. We had a better stay at Umae Villa if you need a better recommendation.
- SAM (6/5): Too far from the city centre - Courteous staff.
Old premises and too far away from the city centre.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Peaceful location - It was a peaceful spot and great for just a few days. The staff were friendly and the hotel is located in the rice fields being very picturesque. There is not a lot to explore walking around this village. The food was fairly expensive for what it was and wasn't that great compared to what is available in Ubud. Being so far out and the shuttle service being limited, we expected there to be more of a selection o food available. For the price it was a good deal.
- Jean-Frederic (10/5): Definitely have to stay there for your vacation - Absolutely love that place. Staff are really friendly, smiling all the time are really attentive to all our needs. Room are spacious, private pool is awesome and the bed is really comfortable. Food at the restaurant is delicious. I definitely recommend that hotel for your stay in Ubud area. Absolutely nothing negative to say about that hotel and his staff.
- Nour (10/5): A very beautiful and relaxing Hotel & location - The hotel is so quiet and nice. The staff is friendly and always ready to answer any questions or requests. The breakfast is very good. We enjoyed every moment in this hotel. Thank you Alam Puisi staff.
- helen (10/5): - Friendly staff great location. My daughter was sick and the staff couldn't be more accommodating and helpful. Massage and spa treatment were gorgeous.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing villa with pool outside of Ubud - Loved this villa! Spent days soaking in the sun outside. It's very peaceful, with just a few workers I in the field. Room service was top notch. The pool offers half shade, so you can have the best of both worlds. The breakfast was declious. Best part was the staff. They are so great. Had issues with lights, etc and they came immediately to fix it. Also, be careful walking out of bathroom stubbed my toe incredible hard as their is a ledge. Just know it's too far to walk to Ubud, but they have free shuttle that will take you there. Nothing close to eat, or store to buy anything so get everything before you come or take taxi, shuttle into town.
- Haojian (8/5): - Must rent a scooter if you stay in this villa. Nothing near this villa.
- Trevor (10/5): Peace and quiet amongst the rice - Lovely location set in the rice fields above Ubud. Very friendly staff. Only a small number of rooms, but very well appointed. On site restaurant and spa are very good too. Shuttle bus into Ubud provided three times a day. Private tailor-made tours of Bali can be arranged by reception.
- Verified traveler (2/5): avoid staying in here - we did inform to hotel its was our honeymoon an to provide good service
first night was good, but rest of stay was rather bad. They keep forgetting to do room service to which have to call them to remind, they would partly clean and forget warer, towles, shower gels etc. They are very tight to provide with water bottles and want to charge the e food is very bad and should avoid
the room constantly fill with white ants, mosquito and bugs. we inform hotel ad they keep give us bug spray
On our last day, there was no hot water. I called hotel and they brought to our room 2 bottles of water..seriously??
it was a very dissapointment because I was looking for a good place to stay and service for my wife
- Hazel (10/5): Fantastic stay - I stayed here with my other half for 2 nights. It wasn't long enough.
The staff made an impression right from the word go, the room was beautiful and we felt relaxed the minute we arrived. We had a private villa room and we couldn't have asked for more. It had a very comfy day bed outside next to the pool which we utilised. We had dinner in the restaurant the first night and it was very tasty and then had it delivered to our room the next night, there was no extra charge for the room service.
The villa is about 15-20mins out of Ubud but they offer a free shuttle or if you want to go at a different time, which we did it was $10 to go into town, which we were able to charge to our room. My only complain with it was the pick up point wasn't clearly pointed out to us in Ubud so we ended up getting a taxi back rather getting the Villa's service. The taxi was about the same price.
We were given a complementary foot massage and i also paid for a Balinese massage, both of which we great.
We would have liked to stay longer but didn't have the time. We will be back.
- Luke (10/5): peace and tranquility - We found this resort and its staff to be amazing. The room was peaceful and the outlook over the rice fields very calming. The staff were wonderful and helpful at all times and catered to our needs. I would definitely go back and stay at this resort. And being a little out of Ubud gave us a real sense of being part of the local culture.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great experience with perfect attendance from hotel staff.
- Ruiqi (4/5): Unfortunate terrible experience - Booked a 2 night stay. Personally would not recommend booking their deluxe single room. We had opted for that over a villa as we were planning to spend our time at Mt Batur and ubud city centre. The accommodation is a little far from ubud city centre. Shuttle is provided at about 3 hour intervals, other than that you would have to pay. The room although spacious, was not very clean (ie. shampoo/ soap bottles were obviously reused, trail of ants in the toilet) and was poorly lit. What made it so unbearable was the air-conditioning which turned our room into an oven (even the stairwell and corridors up to our 4th floor room were so much cooler). Some complimentary activities are provided for guests, but their spa packages are expensive, cheaper to head into town for better choices and selection.
The only thing I would give my praise for was the warm service we got from the staff. Always smiling, friendly and sincere.
- Jonny (10/5): Great place to disconnect - We had a great time at Alam Puisi Villas. While it is a bit off the beaten track (around 10 minutes by hotel shuttle, which doesn't happen all that often), if you are looking for a place to disconnect and get away from the hectic rush that is Kuta, Seminyak, or even Ubud city centre, then this is the place for you. The staff here are amazingly friendly, always greeting you with a smile, and happy to go above and beyond to make your stay special.
While a little more expensive than what you can get in Ubud centre, you can get all you need at the Villas, so you don't ever need to leave, though it is definitely worth going to check it all out. The rooms are spacious, but could've been built to a higher quality. Unfortunately they had cut the rice in the paddies just before we arrived so it wasn't as green and lush as it could've been, but time waits for no one.
Overall it is definitely worth staying here if you want some peace and quiet with all the mod cons.
- Simon (8/5): Quite village location NW of Ubud - My wife and I were impressed with this hotel and its villa room and private pool facility. The staff were very helpful and went the extra distance to make our stay special including a candle light dinner by our room pool.
We deliberately chose our accommodation to be away from the intensive nature of central Ubud and remain happy with that choice. The Alam Puisi's shuttle service to Ubud was very good with 4 return times a day and local taxis costing approx. 8USD one way.
With limited time (4 nights only) and through the hotel, we utilised the services of a local tour driver Wayan for two separate days at around 55USD/day. Wayan was great as he had a good knowledge of the things to see as well as very good English.
We could have done with an extra 1-2 nights in the Ubud area as there is a lot to see both south and north of central Ubud. If you are into collecting a few artisan works (eg. silver jewelry, wood carvings, paintings) while in Ubud we would recommend taking a bit more time to have a look around the outlying villages where you can pick up nice pieces made by the artists almost in-front of you at very reasonable prices. In addition, have some wonderful exchanges with these very talented and friendly Balinese people.
- Santosh (8/5): Good budget hotel - Sitting area inside the rooms would have been nice. Breakfast area gets crowded at times. Staff were excellent. Good hospitality. They take some time to serve breakfast but always apologise for it. Good hotel for the price.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Peaceful & comfort - I was so pleased with my staying that I'm planning to come back To this place again
- danna (10/5): Clean, comfortable and a great value - The people working at the Villa are very kind and helpful.
The room itself was clean, comfortable and a good value. A view towels and bedding items could use replacing rather than washing, but overall it was nice.
- olivoa (10/5): Nice and quiet hotel with good service - The hotel is slightly far from ubud centre, but it is quiet and peaceful. The villa is clean and spacious, the private pool is definately a plus. Resort staffs are friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Lovely staff a bit overpriced - The staff are what make the stay at this hotel, helpful, friendly and caring. Everything is kept clean and tidy. The rooms are getting a little worn. All the floor tiles in our room moved when we walked on them. Good breakfast choices and complimentary early morning yoga were a lovely bonus. Diving into you own pool after a hot day out and about is priceless. The free shuttle service into Central Ubud was great. I think the rooms and restaurant were considerably over priced in comparison to most other places we stayed.
- Ossama (6/5): Very Friendly - The service is great, very friendly staff.
Room Furniture and TV are old. Hotel is a bit far from main street but shuttle bus was convenient.
- Ms.S (10/5): Favorite stay in Bali - I loved this place! Everyone is super friendly. It's about a 15-20 min shuttle ride from downtown Ubud (but they hook u up with free shuttles, or u can rent a motorbike). It's worth the ride because it's quiet and beautiful away from the more "trashy" city areas (but Ubud is by far the cleanest). Also, I highly recommend taking advantage of their complementary morning programs e.g. Yoga or a morning walk to explore the village next to the villa.
The only reason I didn't give 5/5 is because the power would go out occasionally, but they were quick to restore it. No harm, no foul
- Verified traveler (10/5): the stay was fantastic - very lovely, away from everything and very peaceful. the staff we're very helpful and polite as well!
- Caitlin (10/5): Lovely quiet couple getaway - This hotel has a lovely honeymoon feel about it. Absolutely beautiful facilities 10 minutes out of Ubud and nice and quiet. Free shuttles into Ubud and back to the hotel again 4 times a day. Only downfall is there is no public swimming pool, only the private pools, so not that great if wanting to meet new people and socialise. I wouldn't go with a friend but I would defiantly go again with my husband. We had an amazing time.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Lovely location and staff - Lovely villa with very friendly staff. Location is great if you want some peace and quiet. A handy shuttle service allows you to roam the nearby town centre. Really loved our room with our own pool. My only suggestion would be perhaps look into more vegetarian friendly options for breakfast. Other than that we will be looking to come back next time we are in Ubud.
- KARALEE (10/5): Highly Recommended - Cannot explain enough how perfectly suited to every positive review out there this property is! Atmosphere: relaxing, beautiful, clean, peaceful, humbling, inspiring, etc. Staff: Kind, gracious, prompt, pleasing, and ready to do anything in their power to enhance your comfort. Room: Clean, large, tranquil, gorgeous. The property was smaller than I expected but no complaint on that. This place is perfect in every way from food to mood. My husband, 15-year old daughter, and self (all very different ideas of comfort & luxury) ALL loved this place! I should also mention that although it is set back from the hustle and bustle, the hotel provides for-free (very inexpensive) transportation or you can get your own (We took a 90 minute cab back to the airport for under $20!) Here is a testament to the culture of the resort: We did not pay or even give a credit card on check in, pre-booked with pay at the hotel on hotels.com and I only reached in my pocket the final day to pay (who does that? Every other place on my travels that is upscale like this places a hefty hold on accounts! Very nice bonus)
- Hema (8/5): Lovely but far - Very nice hotel overall. My only problem was that it was far from city center or anything else. It was good that there was a free shuttle service to the city. You better plan your day well - because it takes a while to get anywhere from here. The hotel is good for honeymooners who want to relax in the private swimming pool - yes each room has one.
- Ramona (8/5): Highly recommend - We spent our honeymoon at Alam Puisi Villa and were very impressed by the services provided. The room is exactly as in the pictures, the pool area is very nice, the staff members are friendly and always determined to help you. The breakfast and the food is delicios ( the cooking class we had, with the chef of the restaurant will remain in our harts as a very nice experience and the certificates we received will be framed and put on our kitchen wall - thank you again for sharing your knowledge with us). Free shutle services available, free yoga classes, free tour throw the rice field, free foot masage. Other activities/tours, but charged, available also. If I would go again to Bali, I would choose Alam Puisi Villa again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A local resort that employs local people. They do their absolute best to afford you great service.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice & quiet but very far from central Ubud. - Very friendly staffs. Shuttle service every 2 hrs to Central Ubud but I wish it runs more often like every hour.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Most welcoming staff in Bali - The staff was amazing! I haven't experienced such warmhearted people on any of my trips before. All of them knew me by name and we had great conversation during dinner. The massage service was excellent and so was the atmosphere and food. Beautifully located amidst rice fields, but still in close range to downtown Ubud. Will come back again!
- dinesh (8/5): Beautiful Villas midst of Rice fields. - Awesome villas with private pool and nice views. Stayed here during Nyepi day and enjoyed the SPA, a bit expensive compared to other resorts in Kuta. The food at Restaurant is excellent. Loved the chicken Roll. Staff is very accommodating and friendly. Only glitch is not sufficient hot water to use the Bath tub and Breakfast is made to order very less in quantity.
- Srini (8/5): Nice villa with good service! - I stayed in Alam Puisi 1 bed villa with private pool for 4 nights in mid February. It was our honeymoon and we had a great time in this hotel. The room was very well maintained, had a nice pool and bathroom. complimentary breakfast was good with fresh juice and tasty pastries. The bed was super comfortable.
The staff was simply awesome and quite helpful! We called the front desk on multiple occasions for ice and other things late at night and they delivered within minutes. They also provided universal adapters for our charging needs. All with smiling faces :)
I did not get a chance to try their restaurant for lunch or dinner. But going by the breakfast, I'm guessing it would not be bad. Overall I strongly recommend this place for an enjoyable stay in Ubud, Bali.
I will give max rating for this villa in all categories except location. It is in kind of a remote location ( 15mins drive from Ubud center). The streets are dark and riding a 2 wheeler or walking is scary (a lot of street dogs).
Also if there is something they can work on, it is the pricing of amenities and services. I had some clothes laundered once and they charged me USD30 !!! It was only half a load. And they charge USD10 for drop off in Ubud center. It would cost only USD03 if it were a normal cab. I would like to see more reasonable charges when I go back next time.
- Dannyelle (8/5): Will be back - Beautifully located villa. Staff were amazing helpful and attentive. Spa centre beautiful and reasonably priced. Will stay here again
- Sophia (6/5): High expectation, very average experience - We had very high expectations by looking at the descriptions and photos of the hotel, especially with our private swimming pool villa room.
However, the hotel is very deep hidden inside the village and needs about 15mins to transport to ubud centre. The room facility was below average, in fact, only a bed and some tables and a tv, looked really empty and poor in a not small room. The outdoor swim pool is there, but looked not clean so we did not use at all.
The Wifi system was not so friendly with iphone and ipad, thus we could not log in and use the wifi, and the staff were unable to solve that for us,leaving us two whole days without connection to outside,so we had to go out to cafe to use our phone.
The spa was also disappointing as the staff massaged our feet first and massaged our face without washing her hand, which was quite horrible.
The restaurant saved our experience from being unpleasant. Because it is difficult to go out every meal so we ate several times in the restaurant in hotel, the food was the best quality and most reasonable price we had in ubud.
This hotel need to do much more to earn excellent, for the facilities and services.
- Anil (10/5): Best resort/villa if you are looking to just relax - We stayed for 3 nights and had an amazing experience. hotel staff is extremely kind, flexible and ready to go extra mile to make you feel completely relaxed and comfortable. we felt like VIPs as every small things were taken care extremely well. Best surprise to us was the packing of breakfast on our checkout day as we had to leave early in morning around 7am. Also the whole of surrounding near hotel is so quite, peaceful that we feel energised and fresh after our stay there.
would surely come again and recommend this villa if you are looking to relax and be away from busy and stressful work life.
- Em (10/5): Amazing relaxing villa with the friendliest staff. - Villa is so nice and relaxing looking right out over the rice fields. You can hear the rice farmers which makes you feel like you really experience the culture whilst still being in 5 star accomodation. The staff are the friendliest people you have ever met. I would definitely recommend.
- Vini (8/5): Nice Villa close to Ubud village and Paddy Fields - Very friendly staff, room was neat and the massages at the resort was great. Definitely recommend it. But a bit far away from Ubud central but the resort provides daily shuttle. Overall a nice villa and value for money.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Peace, relaxation, and superb care - Booked into Alam Puisi for a 1 week stay with family as our first ever visit to Bali. Chose to base ourselves in the quiet, rural Ubud area, to avoid the hustle and bustle of the noisier tourist areas. We were not disappointed. Despite what looked like full occupancy (all rooms had shoes outside the doors), we enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing stay thanks to the design of the villas (rooms have private pools with lush tropical plantings around the complex creating a sense of privacy). Staff were attentive and genuinely friendly and thoughtful - We found the rooms attractive (2 adjoining), clean, and well-presented, the ample breakfasts some of the best we've experienced on our travels, and the beds probably the most comfortable, but it was the staff who genuinely made our stay - and our first experience of Bali - memorable.
- Ahmad (10/5): Suberp view and very best for honeymoon trip - Very great, helpfull and friendly staff.
- Adam (8/5): Peaceful tranquility - One of the best places I've currently stayed in Bali. A bit far from the main hub of Ubud, but if you are looking for a relaxing and comfortable experience; this is the perfect place to go.
- Alison (8/5): A haven on the outskirts of town - We arrived late at night but everything was ready for us. The room was a very good size and the bed was really comfortable (I am picky, believe me 😏) The staff were amazing - so friendly and helpful at all times - nothing was too much trouble. The spa services were great (we were given 50% discount which made the prices really acceptable). The breakfast choices were excellent and we mostly enjoyed our start to the day - would benefit from an espresso machine for decent coffee.
We loved the fact that we had our own pool and gazebo behind our room overlooking the rice fields - only thing we would say is please tidy this area up - stain/varnish Windows and decking and paint the walls - clean the pool area up (this would all make an awesome improvement.
The evening meals were not overly great but with free shuttle to Ubud this was not a problem. I have tried to be honest with constructive criticism to help the minor improvements necessary to have achieved 5/5. Please visit this beautiful place - you will not be disappointed.
Finally my poem:
To all the staff at Alam Puisi
When we arrived we were tired and low
You nurtured us and cherished us and let our spirits grow
In this calm and peaceful space you have
We have found ourselves anew
When we pass by in future times
We will be sure to visit you 💜
- Shy Tsong (10/5): Great getaway - The Family Villa is quite new. We took 3 rooms and have enjoyed our stay with excellent care by house keeper. The 3 mins walk to the main Villa may be a little inconvenient. However, we could order food to be served in our room.
- denise (8/5): Lovely, quiet location - Alam Puisi hotel is a clean, quiet hotel. The staff are exceptionally warm and friendly and make this hotel worth staying at.
- shivank (8/5): Peaceful location, good service.. - The best part about the villa is its staff. Extremely polite, helpful and courteous. The food options are good. The location is about 7 km away from ubud which is exactly what we wanted. Wi fi is slow but does the job. The stay included a 30 min foot massage which was a pleasant surprise. They also arranged for scooters for local transport and a cab to other cities at reasonable rates. Very happy with the stay and overall experience.
- ankit (10/5): best 5 days - Right from the pickup at the airport to the checkout we got nothing but warmth and care. the staff was so happy to help and they made our stay so comfortable that I doubt we'll ever forget. nothing but pleasant memories. Loved everything.
- Jason (8/5): Enjoyed - Extremely nice staff, very peaceful surrounding. Nice scooter ride to rice terraces or to town
- Sourabh (10/5): Perfect Place to forget the rest - I enjoyed my 3 night stay. I got a huge discount from expedia and for the price I paid, I am happy to have our own private pool & gazebo overlooking the padi fields right outside our villa. Air is fresh every morning with a pretty sight to take in - ducklings running in the padi fields and scarecrows. Almost like a scene right from a beautiful painting. Breakfast is served at restaurant or in room at your choice. They changed the menu daily and if you are not a tea/ coffee person, they are flexible enough to change the beverage to hot chocolate/milk. The 30 mins foot massage is very relaxing and we requested it to be done at our very own gazebo! Overall, the service is great, from the welcome upon our arrival to the great smiley staff during meal time and whenever we met them. The place is in Semuwak village so free shuttle ride to Ubud central takes about 15-20 mins depending on traffic. The drive is quite scenic though. The only thing I think they can improve on is the food variety on the menu and the breakfast options (they only have 3, American, Continental and Indonesian).
- Ankit (10/5): Amazing Villa! - Simply amazing. The level of service is impeccable. Really impressed by the professionalism shown by each member of the staff. Would definitely pop by again!
- Joey (10/5): Excellent Service personnel - We had booked for 3 nights at Alam Puisi Villa but the experience was so marvellous that we decided to extend for another night. Both my husband and myself have been in the service industry for over a decade and we were all praises for the service provided by the staff. They were polite, friendly, helpful and sincere and delivery was prompt. I would like to mention a few staff, which I think had left a great impression on us. Miss Ayuni, who is working in the restaurant, made the effort to greet us by our last name every morning and remembered our breakfast preferences without us repeating it. We had a small chat with her every morning and her attitude and passion towards her work is commendable. Mr Wayan, who happened to be our driver from the airport, is a very polite and knowledgeable person. We can feel his sincerity in dealing with the guest from the moment we entered his car and started chatting. There were a few more staff whom we did not manage to get their names but rest assured, they are as good as the ones mentioned.
- Nurul (10/5): Satisfaction. - I was there for my honeymoon and I am quite satisfied with the service at Alam Puisi. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The room exceeded my expectations and I enjoyed the room. Alam Puisi also offered a lot of activities such as Yoga lessons. I would definitely come back to Alam Puisi.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great stay - We loved our stay here. The room is so comfy and lovely, and the pool is very convient for us. The service is also excellent. Nothing to complain about. If I have to complain one thing, it has to be the location. It's bit far away from the center, but very quiet.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great place for relaxation - Great stay with good breakfast!
- Jhuma (10/5): Stayed 3 nights. - Great experience! Friendly, warm, and very helpful staff.
- Geok Choo (10/5): Perfect getaway - Its a perfect getaway for couples as well as for those who wants a retreat to reflect about their life.
Villa is nestled amidst padi fields and it's tranquil environment makes one totally relax. The weather is great with cool breeze gently caressing your face as one relaxes at the gazebo. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Whatever that we requested, came almost instantaneously. This makes one feel that the staff are there just to please. Highly recommended this villa!
- Kerrie (8/5): - Very nice hotel with everything you need. Very attentive staff. It's a little out of town but they offer a free shuttle service a number of times a day. Loved the free yoga class every day.
- Alison (10/5): Great time - I had an excellent time. My villa was spacious and the pool lovely. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Room service was average but breakfast was yum. Booking through Expedia and well ahead meant i got a good price. I will be returning there next year.
- Kelsey (8/5): Peaceful hotel - Our room was gorgeous (One bedroom pool villa). We were wanting to relax before our flight home and found this a really nice place to do just that.
- Fahad (10/5): Outstanding - Very relaxing. Over-the-top friendliness of staff. Amazing local dishes and presentation. Very good massages available in-house. Complimentary yoga classes available. Shuttle bus to Ubud city centre available. Definitely recommend this to anyone planning to stay in Ubud. The place is relatively new and thus very clean and fresh.
- ABHAY (10/5): HOME AWAY FROM HOME - IT WAS REALLY A V GOOD HOLIDAY FOR ALL OF US. THE LOCATION IS EXCELLENT, SERVICE IS ULTIMATE, FEEL LIKE STAYING THERE ONLY.
- Lesley (10/5): For us, this was perfect. - From the moment we arrived we felt warmly welcomed. The room was beautiful, peaceful and very private. The bed was super comfortable and lovely and big. The outside area with private pool and day bed was the cherry on top! All staff were fantastic and were happy to accommodate when they could.
If you want to be in the centre of Ubud you will be disappointed as this is a 10min drive away. But the hotel provides four return free shuttles throughout the day which is perfect. Personally we preferred to be away from the centre in the peace and quite.
Only problem was we had to leave.
- Sam (10/5): Fantastic Stay. - The rooms are large and airy with large comfortable beds which provided a good nights sleep. Each room comes with airconditioning and a lovely bathroom. The room opens out onto your own pool with a view of the rice fields, sometimes on a clear day you could catch a view of the volcano. The staff were friendly and warm, and each issue we had was dealt with quickly and apologetically. They offered complimentary yoga which we attended, which was a pleasant start to the morning. They also provided a complimentary offering basket weaving which was enjoyable for the children. The food was nice but there is room for improvement. The shuttle bus that took you to Ubud proved to be useful. Thus, even though you are not central, Alam Puisi Villas proved to be a suitable base - they even provided great massages, cookery course and tours at reasonable prices.
- Joyce (10/5): highly recommended laid back resort - Would highly recommend this laid back resort to those looking for a good place to chill. It's so comfortable, especially love the outdoors day bed by the pool. .I had a nap there one afternoon, to birds chirping and a nice cool breeze. I guess being there in the low season also helped cos there were not many other guests around and hence the place was really peaceful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): excellent!! - Service is good. Definitely worth the money we paid.
- Hannah (10/5): Fantastic villa for relaxation and culture - My partner and I stayed for 2 nights in Alam Puisi, and we wished we stayed longer! The staff were wonderful, the room was beautiful and the location was far enough out of Ubud to feel completely away from the hustle and bustle. The shuttle service to and from Ubud was great and convenient. 4 services each way each day was more then enough, especially considering it was complementary. Our room was beautifully appointed and the private pool was great with the view to the rice fields in front. We did the complimentary yoga session one morning and it was wonderful, especially with the view. I can't recommend this place enough!
- Ma Ei Ei (10/5): Great pool, great service - Stayed 3 nights in a private pool villa. Was one of the best hotel experiences. The hotel was well maintaine n the service was top notch. There is free massage, yoga lessons, shuttles to ubud centre, afternoon tea and trekking trip around the area. Location was quiet n away from centre but the multple free shuttle service make up for it. Having breakfast in the villa was the highlight of my trip. Love it and would go back again.
- Lynn (10/5): Amazing Villa for Price - If you are after somewhere to completely unwind this is the place. For the price we paid this was amazing. As it states it's about 15 min drive from the hustle & bustle of Ubud the room is exactly as shown & the private pool was much longer than I thought. Check in was very smooth and all the staff we encountered were exceptional . We dined in on our first night & the meal & atmosphere was amazing. The salmon was actually the best I've tasted & I eat out regularly. If reviewers give this villa a negative review for the money they spend I'm tipping they whinge about any little things in life. I wasn't overly impressed with breakfast but then my husband loved it. My only disappointment was that we booked 2 nights will definetly be back for longer next time.
- Richard (10/5): Rural Charm - We really enjoyed our stay at Alam Puisi - We stayed for four nights and were treated to excellent professional and friendly service from all the staff. All staff were very attentive and genuinely helpful and you couldn't fault the level of service.
The villa was spotless, large and very comfortable and the plunge pool was great. There was a good selection for breakfast and we loved the fresh juices. The complimentary morning yoga classes were excellent and the instructor was very helpful and professional.
The published spa prices were more expensive than in town but they had a 2 for 1 offer and had some other specials that made them more competitive. The treatment was excellent and a very relaxing experience.
If you are looking for a quiet break from the hustle and bustle then this place is perfect and the rural location 15 mins drive from the centre is a bonus.
The restaurant food was high quality and reasonably priced (perhaps slightly higher than some restaurants in town) but well worth it for the convenience and excellent service.
Special thanks to Wayan who picked us up from the airport late at night and subsequently helped to arrange a number of tours including being our guide on the cycling tour. His English was very good and he was very knowledgeable and helpful. He is a real asset to the hotel team.
- Gunn (10/5): superb - Everything was excellent . Only hot water was too short for fulfill the bathtub.
- John (10/5): Peaceful, relaxing hotel & spa in beautiful settin - Rooms are great and the staff were very helpful and accomodating. The food at the restaurant was very good. The setting in the middle of rice fields and out of town made for a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. We were able to go about anywhere on Bali in a day trip. They had many trip options they offered and all were individual, not in groups. You could also design your own day trip. We enjoyed the bicycle tour the best, however, they were all good. I can't think of a better place to stay if you want to experience Bali, and be surrounded by nature, while being in a luxurious location.
- Karla (10/5): Ubud with friends - A little bit away from shopping area but has a free shuttle service so you get the best of both worlds.
- MK (10/5): Awesome place away from central ubud. - We chose to spend about 4 days in Ubud. And after a lot of online 'research' we settled for this place, as this place had good reviews and was available in the price segment we wanted.
It was worth it !!
Beautiful place away from central Ubud. The villa is awesome. The private pool is fantastic. Room is great. Exactly as presented in the images.
Staff - 5 out of 5.
The hotel offers free shuttle to central ubud as per a schedule.
Didn't try walking through the rice fields or cycling as I got too lazy at this place, as it was such a nice setup. Should try that.
- peter (10/5): A Great Stay - We are a retired couple and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Alam Puisi. It was an experience to see the village and school and rice fields on our morning walk and the cycling around Kintamani is most recommended. All staff were welcoming and friendly
- shane (10/5): Calmness and Serenity - This was our first stop in Bali and it was perfect. The staff were very kind and room was perfect.Breakfast was very good and offered a nice variety of choices. The location is a not really accessible by foot to Ubud however, I do believe they offered shuttle service in. We rented as scooter and the drive from the Hotel to Ubud is very manageable (fairly quiet road). Having your own private pool is great but it lacks the social interaction with other people. If it is all about piece and quick this is the place. Enjoyed our stay and definitely would go back.
- Katherine (10/5): Would return and stay much longer! - Only had one night at this gem and it was sad to leave. The grounds are so beautiful. The service was impeccable. The food was simply delicious and fresh. All the staff were so wonderful. I attended a morning yoga class that was included in stay and it was great. They providered transfer to our next hotel for a minimum charge. And we both received amazingly therapeutic massages in the spa. The hubby said it was the best massage he'd had in 15 years! Compliments indeed.
- Rick (10/5): - Facilities: Modern, Above average, Distinctive; Value: Affordable; Service: Go the extra mile; Cleanliness: Spotless, Beautiful;
A bit far from Ubud but we found that to be a plus. It was a great walk into Ubud and the people along the way were very pleasant.
