• Keith (3/5): Hindsight is drive a little further for a better hotel - Location just outside National Park . Lovely cleaning staff. No plug for sink. No conditioner. Very expensive for a room you would pay$90 elsewhere. No breakfast on Sunday just $31 pp brunch with unlimited mimosas which was no good to us going to national park. $25 for an okay burger . Mattress too small for frame so we both banged our legs on wood. Cabin 1.

• Jorge (7/5): - the room was good and the restaurant excellent. the outside view wasn´t that good, just looking at the back/side place of the restaurant with all the trash. the outside chairs were smelly also.
• Michele (5/5): Disappointed and regretted not staying elsewhere. - The restaurant had a nice dinner menu and good service, and some seats had views of the rushing river. You can eat at the restaurant even if you don't stay at the lodge. (Most who go to the restaurant are not staying at the lodge.) I selected this hotel because as my booking.com receipt stated, we would be able to purchase a $15 breakfast. When I showed that receipt with that to the manager on duty, they said we could not get that. They would only offer us a $31 per person brunch. There were 2 of us. We didn't want to pay that, and the nearest other breakfast spot we could find without an extreme wait was a coffee shop 11 miles down the road (away from Sequoia National Park where we were heading after breakfast), right next to the Comfort Inn. That meant 22 extra miles of driving for breakfast. We so regretted that we hadn't just stayed at the Comfort Inn, which would have been significantly cheaper and included breakfast. We had chosen Gateway because it was was closer to the park and according to the booking.com website, it offered the $15 breakfast. The Gateway Inn room was clean enough, but small! It surrounds a small parking lot right off the main road- there is nothing scenic about the hotel rooms! The bathroom was extremely small and had no towel hooks.

• Nicholas (4/5): High potential, but falls short - The location being near the park and next to the river, was excellent. We expected a peaceful stay near the river and the park, but shortly after unpacking and chosing a table near the river for dinner, a 15+ piece high school jazz band started playing for at least 3 hours. They weren't bad (I even like jazz), but it was very loud. It ruined the riverside atmosphere and was loud enough that we could hear the band playing from inside our room until 9:30 pm. The entire property is also in need of some maintenance - it was in considerable disrepair considering the > $300 nightly rate.
• Morgan Bradshaw (9/5): Holiday Treat - Excellent location for exploring the Sequoia's! The Gateway was a perfect place for us to start and end our day with a nice meal at the restaurant overlooking the river. Our own little cottage with a sauna was all we needed to cozy up for the Holiday. Thank you for the ambience. Somewhat pricey of a room, given no real heater or AC.

• Manuela (5/5): Tor zum Sequoia National Park - Die Lage zum Eingang vom Sequoia National Park war super. Freundlicher Empfang, es hatte alles, was man braucht. Preis und Leistung hat für uns nicht ganz gepasst (zu teuer). Ausstattung war schlicht aber hat unseren Ansprüchen genügt. Leider wird der Abfall auf dem Innenhof gelagert, wodurch es dort sehr schlecht gerochen hat. Schade, dass es keinen direkten Zugang zum Fluss gibt.

We didn't feel comfortable leaving our room because the deadbolt couldn't be locked from the outside, leaving only an easily bypassed handset lock. The food wasn't bad, but really, $29 for a hamburger? It's close to a park entrance, but I'd drive the extra miles to avoid this place.

Klima je bila nastavljena na temperaturni minimum, vendar kljub temu ni uspela ohladiti sobe (pa čeprav je bilo zunaj le 25°C. Na recepciji so se tega zavedali, vedar so rekli, da je tako v vseh sobah. Klima v restavraciji pa dela vrhunsko, še celo malo preveč ohladi prostor. Kar nekaj časa nisva mogla zaspati, saj je bilo tako vroče v sobi. In klima je glasna, še posebej je glasen zvok, ko se izključi klima. Tudi vonj v sobi je bil kar močen, skoraj premočen.

• Josephine (5/5): God beliggenhed til Sequoia NP - eneste valuta for pengene. - Værelset var fint og nydeligt med en lille veranda ude foran med to lækre stole. Airconditionen lugtede desværre rigtig meget af klor som kom ud i hele rummet. Udsigten fra badeværelset var lige ud i noget der lignede en losseplads og udsigten fra verandaen var: p-pladsen, affaldscontainerne og en masse rod bag ved restauranten. Det føles som om der kun tjenes penge på beliggenheden - at være så tæt på Sequoia Nationalpark. Vi var i hvert fald glade for at vi kun skulle overnatte dér og skynde os op i nationalparken tidligt næste morgen. Ikke et hyggeligt sted. Alle lamper i restaurantens ude-område så ud som på billedet. Der vsr meget snavset og forfaldent at se på.

• William (10/5): Great experience - We initially had an issue with too much air freshener in our room and once we asked about it, the staff immediately put an ionizer in the room and took care of the problem completely. The restaurant served great food and very large portions. The bed and shower were great. Cleaning staff was incredibly friendly as were bartenders and wait staff.

• Daria (8/5): I quiet place to stay - Almost everything was great. Got the key and went to a nice room that had everything. There was a AC, but we could sleep there with one small window opened in a restroom. It was enough of fresh air for both of us. And the mattress is too hard for a skinny side sleeper. It was painfull to sleep until i put smth beneath the sheet. Also, this place gets a little noisy in the early morning. Some trucks arrive at around 7 and, without turning off the engine for an hour or so, don't let you sleep. The restaurant seemed to be a little bit too expensive. So we, personally, ate at different places. But, overall, it was a good stay for sure.

• yohann (7/5): Bien - Chambre simple avec micro ondes, une machine à café cela nous a suffit. Nous avons diner au restaurant de l'hôtel c'était très bon avec un bon service. L'entrée du parc sequoia est juste à côté de l'hôtel c'est un bel avantage. La clim faisait beaucoup de bruit.

• Ludovic (1/5): A fuir de toute urgence, grosse arnaque - L’emplacement est top, juste avant l’entrée dans Sequoia parc, et le restaurant est pas mal bien que cher. A fuir ! C’est honteux de vendre des chambres à ce prix vu comme c’est miteux, petit, hors d’âge… jamais vu ça… j’aurai compris si on avait payé 60 ou 80 dollars mais à 246 dollars la nuit, c’est vraiment lamentable. Chambre sombre, petite, électricité pas aux normes, clim qui fait un bruit d’enfer. C’est juste horrible, on a qu’une envie une fois le matin arrivé: FUIR
• Virginie (2/5): Mauvais choix/ prix, très déçus… - Jolie rivière , proche entrée du parc Accueil très moyen… on est arrivé en avance et on s’est fait renvoyer très sèchement…🤞alors qu on avait fait une longue route Comme c’est resto aussi, quand on est rentré à 19h30 du parc plus de places de stationnement! Rien réservé pour les personnes à l’hôtel, pas de place à proximité… vu le prix c’était très moyen, sur coté vraiment… Dans la réservation était stipulée : "Place de parking pour un véhicule par hébergement et par séjour."... que nenni ! le distributeur de boisson à côté de la chambre 3 qui faisait un boucan toute la nuit… bref cherchez ailleurs…
• Sheryl Ann (6/5): - The property is not maintained, 1 of the rooms smells like damp towel, which we didn’t use and kept the door closed to make sure the whole place don’t smell. The kitchen is good, location is good. The food at the restaurant is great and servers are nice. Wish they maintain the place better, perhaps changing the carpet will make it feel a little bit more homey and feel cleaner.

La chambre était propre, je recommande cet établissement. Il est dommage que notre époque il y a encore des lits de 140, maintenant la chambre n'est pas très grande pour pouvoir mettre deux lits de 160,
• MiriR. (4/5): - Die nahe Lage zum Sequoia Nationalpark ist ideal. Das Zimmer roch unangenehm, was der Klimaanlage zu "verdanken" war. Als wir diese abgestellt hatten, ist auch der Geruch verschwunden, allerdings war es ohne Klimatisation etwas warm. Auch die synthetischen Kopfkissen und die Bettlaken waren unangenehm und rein optisch nicht gerade einladend.
• Jason (9/5): Goodin option for lodging near Sequoia NP - As close as you can get to the entrance of Sequoia NP. Lodging is only a few rooms, but they are quiet and quaint. Restaurant on premises is a nice advantage with few other eating options close by (reservations are recommended) Room on the small side, but clean and adequate. Parking is limited given the location, also manageable.
• uwe (8/5): Das Positive überwiegt hier ganz klar .... - Die Lage direkt am Bach ! Die Lage direkt vor dem Parkeingang ! Kann wichtig sein, wenn man die Serpentinen mehrmals hintereinander hoch und runter gefahren ist und der Ort doch sehr eng ist, waren wir jedenfalls froh, nicht noch weiter hinunter zu müssen. Diese Lage am Nationalpark hat dann halt auch ihren Preis ! Restaurant war top. Besonders zu erwähnen wäre die Aufmerksamkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft unserer freundlichen "housekeeping-Dame" !!! Einziges Manko war der Installationsort der Klimaanlage : ist deckenhoch direkt über den Betten angebracht, sodaß der Luftstrom einen direkt erwischt.....

• Michelle (4/5): Pros and cons - Pros close to sequoia national park. Stayed in river house with my 3 teenagers. The deck was great with a beautiful view of the river. The towels were great and new ones were given to us on the 2nd day. Cons, the smell of garbage was awful. The kitchen was nasty, the sink didn’t drain. The place needs a good deep cleaning. The air conditioner smelled like mold. Wouldn’t stay here again. This was part of a large trip to the west coast it was probably my least favorite place.
• Eric (6/5): The restaurant was definitely memorable, but the hotel was just acceptable. - Great staff - Hotel reception and restaurant crew were friendly and helpful. Great location - right at the NP entrance and over a very scenic river. Great restaurant - wide selection of interesting meal options, friendly staff, and the food was well prepared with healthy portions. The room was very basic - the bed was comfy and the shower was hot and had good pressure. The room and comforter had a heavy dose of air freshener, which was kind of overwhelming. It made the room not feel as clean as would be expected.
