Guest Reviews
- Euan (10/5): - The views from the balcony were absolutely stunning and the family what runs this resort are just one off a kind I cannot wait to come back here
- Adam (10/5): - I liked this place
- MILCA F (4/5): - Muitas escadas é longe do centrinho.
- Josefa (6/5): It’s ok for the price - There was to much noise during the night. The people was friendly and good service. The problem was the noise and a hard mattress. Good A/C, bathroom and service in general.
- Ayuka (6/5): - Staffs were very helpful and kind. But our second day of staying, water stopped running.
2hrs later water came back but it was dirty water. It got better by time but we didn't want to wash our face or hands with that water so we used bottle of water.
- Jason (2/5): - Stay far away from this so called resort! It's almost like staying in a homeless shelter with a sewer filled reservoir in the middle . Not handicap accessible ! This very unsafe place to stay . BLACK MOLD on curtains and walls . No refrigerator. A/C didn't work correctly. Beds are hard as Rocks and they only give you sheets to sleep with. No Breakfast and the walk to the resort is very hard to do with luggage . The people running this place are friendly 1 star!
- Alex (10/5): - Cheap place 👍
- Christine (10/5): - Little bit of a trek to get to but if you know where you’re going it’s all good.
- Madeleine (6/5): Tapear - The main problem is that on the bookingsite map it shows the hotel close to the beach etc, like 1 min walk...but in reality its up in the mountain by the reservour. 15min walk.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Avoid this place - Place is rundown. quite far from the action which is fine as we didn’t want too hear noise of the clubs.
It states it has a view of the ocean/water but doesn’t. Only a view of a green waste water reservoir that looks disgusting.
There was a used condom wrapper under our bed.
I found hairs of other people on our pillow case that leads me to believe the room wasn’t cleaned only litter picked (badly)
The room stank of mould/ mildew. The door had holes in it.
The shower head was barely connected and water strayed out the back meaning there was no pressure left for a proper shower.
The bidet hose has toilet paper stuck too it and was stained brown
Bed was hard and uncomfortable.
This was the deluxe room we stayed in so I hate to think what a standard one is like!
- Sherese (2/5): - The pictures misrepresent the “resort” greatly. The ocean view is only from the very top floor, and you’ve got your work cut out for you to get there. 10 minutes from the pier is a stretch, and a good chunk of it is uphill. It’s not a safe walk for anyone unsure of their footing. The rooms were on the very low end of ok, and the bathroom was equivalent to a truck stop with a hose for a shower.
We booked somewhere else and left almost immediately. The staff seemed annoyed that I had the audacity to check out, as if I was inconveniencing them for not staying (knowing full and well they weren’t going to refund my money).
60$ mistake I won’t make again. Hopefully you won’t either.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Location was okay, is quite far out and up a high hill with lots of steps - not easy with luggage - but then if you want to be out of the main busy part of phi phi it is good. Still only 10-15 mins walk from the pier. Staff weren’t particularly friendly but then they couldn’t speak much English. You had to ask to have your room cleaned but even after asking, they didn’t clean our room. Room itself was okay but no fridge or safe. Was a good size though. Beds were really hard and uncomfortable. Overall was okay, not great, but not bad
- Lukasz (10/5): Value for money - Great place, lovely view
- Daniel (4/5): Discounted price = still not worth it - Stayed here at a discounted price and still not worth it. Far away from it all but the jungle. Couldn't enjoy the porch because monkeys were too aggressive; owner gave us broomsticks as protection to and from room. Ants were the worst I've ever seen. Came back from the beach to find ants by the thousands, including in our bags and bed. Owner just gave us a smile and bug spray - that's not my job. We switched rooms 3 times for a 2 night stay for various issues (windows wouldn't open / ants). Better and cheaper places elsewhere. Also, no free breakfast or water here. Beds were more comfortable than next place though and decent views of waste water ditch (right next door) and beaches.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Meh - This was a horrible place. The beds were actually box springs making it hard to sleep. The place is uphill deep into the island so it was always a mission to get there. It was difficult to communicate with the host/owner. Especially when we arrived he had no idea that we were arriving and I spent 30 mins trying to prove to him that we booked online... overall do not recommend
- Matthew (10/5): Best stay in Phi phi - Hotel is slightly secluded which is great because it is away from all the noise of the bars but still only a 5 minute walk to the bars and beach.
- MARK (8/5): Very good, would recommend. - Good place to stay on the island. Great view out over the main area and a short walk up the hill. One of the further places away from the music at night, we could still hear it but not a problem.
Just watch out for the monkeys that roam around, don't leave anything outside or they will take it.
Good price for the island as well.
- Carol (8/5): - This hotel is a little tricky to find! Involves a bit of walking but gets easier every day :) simple breakfast, friendly staff. Basic accommodation with good a/c, no tv good Wi-Fi.
- jon (8/5): Cool hotel with good views, gym, staff & breakfast - Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Staff were very nice and hospitable. Hotel comes with free gym use and a great complimentary breakfast which in fact turned out to be better than breakfasts I was originally paying for at cafés around the area.
- Anna-Maria (4/5): Don't stay here! - Dont stay here. Highly overated.
The wifi only works in the "reception".
They don't clean or change the sheets.
- Ryan (8/5): An experience - The staff were really friendly and the room wasn't that bad we did have a lot of bugs in the room but that was unstoppable as your in a tree hut made of wood. Breakfast was good and it's 2mins into town and 15mins to the view point would go again
- Verified traveler (6/5): Backpackers and light lugguage only - It must be one of the furtherest hotels from the ferry. There is a bit of a hill to climb with a number of stairs so not good if you have a pull suitcase.
- Saoirse (2/5): Stay away!! - DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Phi Phi is probably the most scenic island you are going to see and this will just ruin your experience of it. Hotel rooms feel so unsafe when you walk the whole room shakes. Your view is of a sewage hole and the smell of it also carries to your room. There is broken bottles and thrown away rubbish every where. We stayed about two hours and then moved to P.P Castita, defiantly stay there great hotel!
- Lynn (4/5): Maya bay trip - No fridge or TV wifi was terrible price to high with few amenities
- Kyriakos (6/5): Nice views, good budget stay - Nice budget stay, good views, room clean and tidy. A bit of distance to walk with luggage. Frogs from nearby large water deposit can be noisy at night.
- Ray (6/5): This is a "remote area" in the island - It's on the hill, therefore, far away from shops, foods, beaches. Room is reasonable clean and tidy. They used rain water for shower and washing.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good value - This hotel is on the edge of town about 20 mins walk from the port (slightly uphill) so not recommended for heavy luggage. However, it is very well priced and the rooms are clean and very quiet because the centre of town is very noisy.
- Lynn (4/5): My stay on ko phi phi don - Well I was a little shocked to find out I wass double booked when I got there. The owners didn't speak English very well so it didn't get straightened out for six days it was a little stressful and I went there to relax communicated with several hotel dot com to many in fact one would say no refund that's the email I got today the last girl I talked to in customer service said it was all taken care of see today before the latest email the fundamental were returned to my credit card the room had no fridge or tv a little over priced for that reason I thought found cheaper nicer places while walking around but it was ok I wasent there much so live and learn I guess
- Stanya (2/5): Mouse in the bed, lizards and bugs in the bathroom - I had a mouse in my bed the first night. Very awkward. After we change the bedroom, we found more mice droppings and lizards in our bathroom. The beds were so hard, I woke up with a backache every morning. The worst was the horrible noise from music and neighborhood every night. We left earlier because we couldn't get any sleep. I wouldn't get this resort even one star. So much trash all around the property.
- Verified traveler (8/5): 4 nights at tapear - Stayed for 4 nights.
Clean, but the daily cleaning requires you to ask the staff for it.
Location was good since it abit away from all the party noise but still in range of all activities with a 3 min walk.
Decent price.
And don't worry, the 30 steps to the hotel aint bad at all unless you're really out of shape!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Ehh ok for a bungalow - $24 a night was about right. The best thing about this bungalow is that it was away from the night scene. I could not imagine staying closer to the bars as the music goes all night. Hotel really offers nothing but a room, towels, and bar soap. There is no cleaning so if you are messy probably should look elsewhere. Also the one night felt something poking my arm and lifted up the bed sheet to find a part of a condom wrapper. Pretty gross. Although we did not get bit up as we kept the fan directly on us I would have felt better with some mosquito netting. Also reception was a little cold. The guy didn't say one word to me from check in to check out. If you don't want to be in the middle of the loud music and it is insanely loud all night I would recommend this place.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Average... - As another reviewer has stated, 30 steps to the hotel, 5 mins or so from main town. Not an issue unless you are particularly lazy (which the heat can cause) however... If you are in the furthest (d block) which is up a steep hill from reception it can become a bit tiresome BUT that's the nature of the beast - if you want to be far enough away from the serious noise of town, and not pay loads it might well be a bit up a hill on this island. The room I stayed in was clean, and an OK size. Sound insulation is poor from neighbours, the construction of the room I stayed in reminded me of a portacabin. If a couple a few doors down gets amourous or has a few beers and a chat, you may well hear it. But, if you want peace and quiet, I would say cheaper places on Ko Phi Phi probably aren't your best bet anyway.I would advise ear plugs as a precaution if you aren't going to join the party or are a light sleeper. Shower cut out a couple times, but started working again without needing to complain. Staff were pleasant but my interactions were limited. Oh and watch out for monkeys! Do not leave beer (or anything that you value) unattended on the balcony as they may appear (as we experenced) Overall not great not terrible. Note; ko phi phi can be expensive, for example, 1.5l bottled water is 30 baht, whereas is 14 baht on ko samui / phuket / krabi
- Verified traveler (2/5): - AC didn't work. The room was too small to move. The staff didn't understand anything we asked for. Also it smells terrible around the entire area. To top things off it was not that inexpensive for Thailand.
- James (6/5): Quiet place away from the crowds but up many steps - A newer place so the air con room condition was good and clean. The only bad part is the fact that it is up the hill and many stairs need to be climbed to get to the room. But because of it, there is quiet for the most part outside of the animals that live nearby. Internet needs to be a lot better as it gets worse than the already slow speed further up the hill and can barely send text messages.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice stay - Nice simple accomodations; far enough away from town to minimize party noise, close enough to the beaches. Good place to rest for the night after a day of adventure.
- chris (4/5): Change of room helped - We booked an room which stated it had a view of the water - which technically it did however the water was just a murky drain water infront of it. We then moved after two days to a fan room which was right on top of the hill with excellent views - although they made us pay 100 baht more for this privelidge. The first room was small and crampt so when we moved it was much better. they also dont seem to clean the rooms so the move at least allowed us to get a fresh change too. If you book a room on the hill it is nice..if not it isnt.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Tiny room, poor service, great AC - We arrived on the early ferry and made our way to the hotel just before noon. They gave us our room right away, which was nice. But, we were shocked to see how small the room was. Enough room for the bed and not much else. The bathroom was a bit grungy, even for Southeast Asia standards, but we didn't mind too much. The wifi was mediocre. The hotel is a bit outside the main area, which we usually like...but, it was a little farther than we anticipated, a bit of a walk and up some steps. Again, we would rather be farther away from the noise, but the map isn't accurate - it is farther than it says on the map. Google maps is completely wrong. The WORST part of our stay came on our last day, we tried to check out at 8:45am to get to our 9:30am ferry. No one was around and the doors to the kiosk where we had checked in were closed and locked. We frantically looked around and asked other hotels if they knew where the the owners were. No one knew. Called the hotel phone number...got nothing. We needed to check out to get our hefty key deposit back - I suspect some people just leave and the hotel makes some extra cash. Finally, at 9:15am, someone showed up. We grabbed our deposit and ran with all our stuff to the ferry and barely made it.
- Michael and JJ (10/5): Quiet Clean and Friendly - Hey it is a bit of a walk and not a hike but we stayed in the very top tier new rooms and loved the view and the very quiet nighttime away from the clubs... would stay again in a heartbeat... great for a view of both bays and a nice sleep...
- Dustin (6/5): - Not bad if you don't mind the hike, but away from all the party sounds
