Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (4/5): FLOP HOUSE - DO NOT REFER ANYBODY TO THIS PLACE. IT IS IN HORRIBLE CONDITION. THE STAFF IS ACCOMODATING AND FRIENDLY,BUT THE FACILITY ISN'T SAFE TO STAY IN.
- Cory (2/5): - We did not stay for the second night we had already paid for. We set up a tent and used sleeping bags to keep the mice and bugs off.
- Phillip R (2/5): - small old towels..smelled like lysol..lots need fixing
- Mark (6/5): - Place could use a lot of updating like new carpet , a paint job . they tried their best.
- Uta D (2/5): - I did not check in and no one refunded my money. I called a day after booking to cancel ,reading about bedbugs and dirty motel.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The guy at the front desk informed me that my reservation didn't work, so I would have to pay at the desk. When I checked my credit card statement I have two charges. One from Expedia and one from the Rainbow. After I checked in I was assigned a room and told there was no key for the room, because house keeping took it with them. There also was no shower head in the room to take a shower, but the worst part was yet to come. I laid in the bed for approximately 20 minutes and recieved over one hundred BED BUG bites. Worst motel/hotel experience ever. I went to another hotel in Hastings to clean myself of the bed bugs. I tried to talk to the hotel staff the next day, but they wouldn't answer the door bell and the office doors were locked at 10:45 a.m..
- Shane (2/5): Stay Away!!! - Got there and had to wait about 45 mins. before the clerk got back from wherever she was.
Gotted checked in and went to our room and it was a single.
Got us another room but said they need to clean it first but not only that it was full of somebody elses stufg then 20 mins. go by and still haven't started cleaning.
Asked for a refund and she said only the owner can do that and have not seen a refund to my card and it's been 5 days.
DO NOT RECCOMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - They didn't have a room for me.
- Verified traveler (2/5): The worst ever!! - This place is the absolute worst. Hotwls.com should not even have it listed as a place for people to go!!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Weeds growing in cracks of sidewalks and parking lot. Door screens bashed in. No personnel in office with door inoperative. Whole place looked dirty! Thankfully no vacancy!
- Verified traveler (4/5): Don't stay here - This one was an experience. It is very old, toilets don't flush well, beds are antiquated and the room smelled like it had just been fumigated for who knows what.
Desk person was friendly enough, couldn't find the payment through hotels.com and then said that I was overcharged by hotels..... I wouldn't recommend this place unless one is absolutely desperate.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - There were bed begs and stains all over the walls and beds sheets bugs everywhere. It’s so gross don’t waste your money.
- Charmarie (2/5): - BED BUGS, DO NOT STAY HERE! We got eaten alive within minutes of laying in bed (both beds had them of course). The room looks nothing like the pictures on the website. The bathroom door was damaged from what looked like it being kicked in and couldn't be closed properly. The microwave was on the bathroom counter. Normal size fridge, but it wasn't very clean inside. Bedding didn't match and needed serious updating. No continental breakfast as promised on the website. All in all, a horrible night stay, would not recommend at all!
- SALOMON (6/5): - Great customer service.
- Jack (2/5): - First of all they didn't receive hotel.com info.
PAID CASH FOR ROOM.
Put me a room only to move me to another room. Had to wait while they cleaned room. People were nice enough but did a terrible job of cleaning. Floor rug terrible dirty condition.Did vacuum but really need to replace rug.Mini refer, micro not clean. Had to ask for toilet paper. I don't know why this hotel was even listed on your site. I would be embarrass.Plus that cost me a rewards night.Part of this is my fault for picking this low rated motel.
- Julie (2/5): BAD hotel - there was bed bugs and roaches. looked like someone punched holes in the wall, hot water one day out of 4. there was moldy coffee bags left in the coffee pot. I told them I bought bleach and I bleached everything except the bedding. I slept on top of the bed and still received NUMEROUS bites all over my body. I couldn't get a refund and I was not going to lose my money.
- Amy (4/5): Don't stay here! - Should have kept driving....this place was bad. Booked online, but it still took 15 minutes to check in and I was charged a different amount than through hotels.com. Room was gross, carpets were stained and I'm not sure the linens or pillows had been updated in years. Bathroom sink, toilet, tub and floor were stained and the sink leaked.
- Kalaba (6/5): not satisfactory - No internet and people sitting outside ...
- Verified traveler (2/5): Owner is a Jerk - I paid for our reservation on Hotels.com, we got to the hotel at 1130, the lobby closed at 11. Called the # on the door, guy told us to go somewhere else, he wasn’t coming to let us in.
- Fredrick (8/5): - The room I stayed in was just remodeled and if the other rooms get done like my room was it will be a really nice hotel. The people that stay long term at this hotel some are nice and will let u know were things are around town. The owner is really nice and will help u find things also.
- Darrell (10/5): - Great room for the money
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Owner was really nice. Had trouble getting the internet to work, but a good experience overall.
- sandra (10/5): the best Hotel - Are stay was the best stay and we stayed in a lot of Hotels and the rainbow hotel is the best I wish I could find more
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Microwave didn’t work, mini fridge didn’t work, and the coffee pot had crusted black residue on the inside. Cheap and perfect if you just need shower/sleep/tv.
- carol (6/5): Comfortable - Clerk who checked me in was very friendly. Quick check in. Room outdated but comfortable bed. Even though by a highway, wasn’t noisy. Cleanliness was decent for the age of the motel. Room had ref/microwave and was good sized
- Verified traveler (2/5): Blood!?!?! - Well it was just an all together horrible experience. The towels were circa 1970 avocado green and were shredded around the edges. There was toilet paper that could have doubled as wax paper, and the parking lot smelled like a urinal. The next day was a real treat, while getting dressed I noticed dried blood on the comforter NEVER STAY HERE NO MATTER HOW GOOD THE DEAL SEEMS.
- Amy (2/5): Poor quality even for the price - Police presence in this now shady part of town, dried blood on comforter, and uncomfortable beds. It was so uncomfortable I didn't stay the second night I originally booked.
- Patrick (8/5): Great manager. Very accomodating. - Nice cool room. The hotel is old fashion but very clean and quaint. The manager was very nice and we felt very welcomed.
- Timothy (8/5): Sure beats paying $$ for a great bed & large TV - The hotel is dated but the bed was so much nicer the the cost of the room. Room is clean and if you wish for the good old days it's great decor. Bargain price makes it so very worth the money. Breakfast limited pastries even included.
- Amanda (6/5): Ok - It was ok.
- Verified traveler (2/5): HORRIBLE HORRIBLE - BEWARE!!! This place is a HOLE!!! Holes in the walls, dirty, filth everywhere and manager was a NIGHTMARE! Declined staying in this scary place and manager REFUSED to refund my money! Would never recommend this place to anyone. Currently in a dispute with Expedia.
- cj (2/5): Room - Terrible, stinky, felt unsafe. The room smelled so bad and people wandering around all the time. Tried to call about checkout, no answer. Terrible TV reception. I would never stay there again.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Not great. Breakfast was nothing more than a little Debbie cake. Old motel.
- Steve (6/5): Basic motel in Hastings - For a cheap motel it was ok. The room was clean and everything in working condition. I could not connect to WiFi but I really didn't need it. For around $40.00 I was satisfied. The manager was friendly.
- Kevin (2/5): Don't Stay Here - I had a confirmed two night reservation using Expedia. The Hotel manager was absent when we arrived. The maintenance man called the manager who informed us that the hotel was full and he had no rooms available. I called Expedia to get a refund and spent 45 minutes on the phone with two different people. The had to call the hotel manager and confirm that no room was available; because, the didn't believe me. I went to the Super 8 motel 7 miles away and they had a room. It was a much nicer place to stay and included breakfast. I still need to check my credit car for a refund on this charge.
- Guy (8/5): last minute overnighter. - Just an overnighter on the way to another city. Very low budget expectations but actually not too bad. Breakfast was included, front desk clerk was very nice and friendly, black silk sheets on the bed was a little weird. Door lock was sketchy.
- B (2/5): The pictures speak for themselves - Horrified! I needed some sleep so I didn't even undress...slept only as much as I needed and couldn't run out fast enough!
- dona (2/5): Bad experience - Carpet very dirty. Toliet dirty. Freezer had five inches dirty Ice. We were there two minutes and left. Couldn't get refund but hotels .com gave us a voucher.
- Dee (2/5): Don't stay - When we arrived we checked in and paid for our room we went to the room and the room was disgusting the walls were dirty and so was the beds and it looked like someone can break into it while you were in there I talk to the manager about the time that breakfast will be served said there is no breakfast served in the morning and they don't have any at all there is no room to serve breakfast there we ended up checking out because the hotel was dirty scary and no breakfast as it was posted on their site
- Cb (6/5): Convenient - worth the price. - Quick check-in (prepaid). X-tra large bed, Large room. Quiet room. The mattress was too hard for me, but husband said he liked it fine.
- Betty (10/5): Great Room - Had a doctor appointment and did not want to get up early to travel Pick this motel for the night. was glad we did.
- William (4/5): Old Hotel - You can tell this hotel has not been updated in a very long time. With that being said it wasn't a horrible stay.
- Doug (2/5): Crooks & Thieves - Refused to honor a reservation made at the interstate 20 minutes earlier. Stated they "closed" at 11:00p.m. still charged for unoccupied room PLUS one night extra for a PENALTY FEE for not staying there when THEY refused to give me a room! What a racket! Crooks & Thieves! Don't stay there! They're untrustworthy.
- Robert (4/5): cheap hotel - not very clean just cheap. good for long term. some tenants were friendly.
would not recomend to anyone. was safe.
- Not pet friendl (2/5): Worst Family Vacation ever! - The site said pet friendly. We informed the site via phone that we would be traveling with 9 people (3 of which were children) and 2 cats and 2 dogs. We needed 3 rooms. The site accepted our money. Informed us that the hotel was pet friendly. When we arrived we owner told us that cats were not pets. He argued his point took our keys and refused to refund our entire money stating the fault was not his but our own because cats are not pets!
- are cats pets? (2/5): Not pet friendly! - After 5 hours in a hot car we were happy to see our "pet friendly" in site. We were a family of 9 people that arranged for 3 rooms. We traveled with 2 cats and 2 dogs. Upon arrival we waited 15minutes for the owner to check us in. When he found out that we had cats he told us to leave our cats in the car for our 3 day stay or take them to the pound for boarding because cats are not pets! We refused to do that. He took our keys and proceeded to call other places "to ask if they would take cats". He told us that all the other hotels would not take cats. One of our party left and found a hotel a few blocks from his called Hastings Express. They would take cats that hotel informed us that the owner of Rainbow called and told them that they should not rent any rooms to us. Because cats are not pets! He refused to refund the entire amount of our money claiming the fault was not his but ours because cats were not pets.
- LA (2/5): They have bed bugs. Do not stay here. - It was horrible. They have bed bugs. My son and I both had bites the next day. I physically seen one the next morning crawling on the white sheets.
- BARRETT W. (4/5): Short stay - The motel is about what I expected for the low price. It was okay for my 13 year son and me because we only slept there and were gone all day. There is no way my wife would have stayed there. Old and outdated amenities. Good value for the low price but I would not likely stay there again.
- Daniel M. (10/5): Super Value - I was in Grand Island for a sporting event. Searching prices on cheap tickets I came across this motel and since I am always looking for a deal figured that I would take a chance. I can honestly say that it surpassed my expectations for the price. The room was clean, bathroom was clean, I was quite satisfied. I never had a chance to use the wi-fi so can't comment on it.
- DJ (2/5): Dirty hotel - Was the worst hotel I've ever experienced. It was the dirtiest hotel I've stayed in. The doors had holes in them the tub had a hole in it. It smelled dirty and was outdated. The towels and linens smelled bad and were soiled.
