- Craig (10/5): - Enjoyable stay at the Manor House Hotel while visiting Croft Circuit recently. Friendly welcome, easy parking. Spacious room with an excellent bathroom. A small hiccup over the bill at checkout was quickly rectified. Highly recommended.
- Rosy (8/5): All good bar a 3am wake up. - Really friendly staff. Nice looking place. Didn’t get to explore much as arrived late and checked out early. Room was spacious but felt basic. One thing I would note for those staying near to where the bins are (by the car park) collection was at 3am in the morning. Woke me up and then I couldn’t get back to sleep. Not a fault of the hotel and not exactly the fault of the collection team doing their job, just a bit frustrating and if I’d have known. I’d have asked for a room far away from that.

- Nicole (6/5): - My introduction to this property was less than ideal. I don't think my room had received a thorough turn over from the past guest. Bath mat missing, didn't have the full suite of toiletries. All forgivable, until I wanted to go to bed. Only to find that it had hair (human) everywhere. The night porter kindly moved me to a very beautiful and newly refurbished room but i was disappointed that the manager made no effort to contact me to discuss. A little token of a voucher for the restaurant or spa or a discount on the room would have been appropriate in my opinion. Pity because the property is 500years old and beautiful.

- Sarah (6/5): - The house is beautiful and the rooms are lovely. Unfortunately I had to move rooms when I realised I could hear the music from the spa very loudly in my room. The second room wasn't much quieter, I could hear very loud footsteps from the people above me and there was a toilet next to my room from which I could hear the door slamming and the toilet flushing throughout the night. I didn't have a good nights sleep the entire time I was there. Really disappointed as I was looking forward to staying here. Everything else was great but I feel the bare minimum you should get from a hotel room is that it it quiet and peaceful. I left feeling tired and upset that I had spent what for me was quite a lot of money on my stay here.

The room however was lovely and quiet the hotel was nice with its little period touches still left. Food in restaurant was lovely (lunch).

- Verified traveler (10/5): We had an amazing stay at the Manor House Hotel - We had an amazing stay at the Manor House Hotel and Spa. We specifically wanted to stay in the historic house itself, and it did not disappoint. We stayed in Room 37, which, while traditional in style, was full of character—including a charming hidden bathroom that added to the unique experience. Every member of staff we encountered was exceptionally polite and friendly, making us feel truly welcome. The spa was clean and well-maintained, with robes provided upon entry and secure lockers with keys for convenience.

The place needs a refurb and food is very expensive sides like chops etc are all extras staff not the politeist just would not return but wish them the best

Door needs to be sound proof. As this is sold as their superior room.Damed poor show. We did get discounted pool use.

Very happy. Staff were very friendly and next time we visit we will use the additional cost spa facilities. Breakfast was delicious!

The bed canopy meant you couldn’t easily use the bedside table, there were no drawers but 2 wardrobes and the mirror in the bathroom was positioned so you couldn’t really see close up. The work on the hall meant there was dust and our room wasn’t cleaned on one of the two days. So a bit mixed

The only complaint we would have is that the vegan options (we were really grateful that there were some) in terms of the main course felt over priced for what they were. The chocolate mousse pudding was delicious though!

Did also have someone late at night chapping my door and running away. Let it down a bit unfortunately

It’s on the outskirts of Bishop Aukland but a cheap taxi ride into the centre and decent bus routes. The staff are super friendly and the spa linked to the hotel is very good. I sincerely found the place relaxing. If you are visiting the excellent new galleries of Bishop Aukland (especially its Spanish Art Gallery) stay here.
- mandy (10/5): - Lovely overnight stay on Easter Sunday, room was beautiful, clean and comfy. Josh at the bar was such a lovely friendly helpful young man, reception staff very friendly and polite. Breakfast was very good with plenty of options on Menu as well as continental. The Manor Burger was VERY nice. Would definately stay here again, can’t comment on Spa as didn’t use but will do on a next visit.
- Miss (10/5): Warm and welcoming - The rooms were spacious and clean, and the staff were exceptionally fantastic As someone who is fasting during the month of Ramadan, the reception and restaurant team ensured that my meal was ready at a specific time and made me feel at ease. I marked the room slightly less purely based on how creaky the floor boards are, especially when you're on the lower floor. More of a structural issue as opposed to the warm and welcoming staff.

- ian (10/5): Nice overnight stay - Nice welcome . All rooms differ due to the historic building. Food was excellent at evening meal. Please note that there is a charge of £15 per person for a 2 hour visit to Spa area. This is not noted and its not until you make the booking you get a text from the hotel. It is nice but should be noted prior to booking. Stayed pre covid and would certainly use and recommend to others. There is refurbishment work being made to the rooms.
- Anthony (4/5): - The property looks good from the outside. However, the room we were allocated was small and the bathroom was no more than a small en-suite although the shower was good. The biggest disappointment was the size of the bed. I think it was a Queen. This was about 4ft wide and very uncomfortable for two for three nights stay. We asked if there was any other room available but was told the Hotel was full. Another point of annoyance was when booking with Expedia we ungraded on their website from the standard room to the next room upgrade but when we got to the hotel they did not recognise the descriptions used by Expedia and we believe we got their basic room in the Annex. Unlikely to use the Hotel again and suggest they look at the standard room available at any Premier Inn for comparison. Staff however were very kind and helpful but the place was clearly understaffed.

- Bridget (10/5): - We were so delighted to have booked such a beautiful hotel. We love historical buildings and this was no exception , little nods to its history and sympathically renovated. The staff were lovely and friendly particularly the man who served us at breakfast, he was fantastic. The food was lovely and very accommodating for a boring GF diet. Our 2 rooms were overlooking the courtyard , due to the very hot weather the rooms were very warm ..one being like a furness..however this wasn't the hotels fault , but maybe a fan in the rooms may have helped. Our rooms were spotless. We didnt get the opportunity to use the spa and gym but have said we would me back to stay for a few nights to appreciate the hotel and investigate the surrounding countryside. If your looking for a quiet and peace this is the place. Thank you to all the staff at The Manor House
- Rod (10/5): - Great staff, attentive and helpful. We had a room upgrade on arrival and couldn't fault the staff. Ongoing building upgrades did not affect the atmosphere and comfort of the property. Thanks for a very good stay.
