Hyvä sänky ja tyynyt. Huoneessa oli aamutakit ja tossut sekä kylpy tuotteita. Henkilökunta oli ystävällistä ja ammattitaitoista Aamiainen tilattiin listalta ja ne olivat riittävät ja hyvät. Extramaksusta sai myös tilata lisää kahvia ja mehuja. Kävimme myös joogassa ja se oli hyvä. Onneksi hotellilta lähti kuljetukset Ubudiin useita kertoja päivässä, koska kävelymatka oli pitkä. Hotelli oli kaukana keskustasta.

• U9278MDjulial (10/5): Our stay at The Sankara Resort and Spa - We had such an amazing stay at The Sankara Resort and Spa in Ubud, Bali. We spent a little over two weeks there and didn’t want to leave at all. Location: The resort is located in the village of Mas (part of Ubud), surrounded by lush greenery and even has its own small rice field, which makes it feel like a peaceful escape away from the busy tourist spots. At the same time, it’s still just a short and easy ride into central Ubud. The hotel offers a free shuttle service several times a day to and from the center, which is super convenient. There you’ll find supermarkets, restaurants, cafés, small shops, the Monkey Forest, and so much more. We were especially lucky to meet our great driver Gede, who made those rides even more enjoyable. The hotel also offers tours and activities that can be booked, as well as daily complimentary options like a yoga class and a morning walk through the village of Mas, which we really enjoyed. Atmosphere: The atmosphere is incredibly relaxing and serene, with a perfect mix of luxury and authentic Balinese charm. Everything feels thoughtfully designed, and you feel calm the moment you arrive. Plus, there are beautiful flowers everywhere, which makes the whole place feel even more special. Rooms: We stayed in a Deluxe Room with a private pool, and it was absolutely worth it. The room was spacious, beautifully designed, and very comfortable. You can tell a lot of thought has gone into the details. The beds are super cozy, and the design perfectly blends modern comfort with traditional elements. In addition to a bathtub and indoor shower, there was also an outdoor shower, which we really loved. The rooms aren’t brand new anymore, but they are still in very good condition and absolutely clean. Also good to know: the hotel has European-style power sockets. Value: The resort offers great value for money, especially considering the high level of service, the stunning surroundings, and the overall experience. Cleanliness: Cleanliness was excellent throughout the entire resort. The rooms and common areas were always spotless. Noise Level: The resort is very quiet and perfect for relaxing and unwinding. Most of the time, you only hear natural sounds like birds and the surrounding nature. Occasionally, you could hear some noise from the nearby padel court and a beach club, but it was never disturbing for us. Service: The service was truly outstanding. The staff were always friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring. You really feel welcomed and well taken care of throughout your entire stay. We’d especially like to thank the reception team, our driver Gede, the housekeeping staff, the entire restaurant team, and the excellent chefs. Amenities: The resort offers great amenities, including a beautiful pool, spa services (special thanks to Dewah, Rosi, and Juli), and a restaurant with delicious food, an incredible team, and talented chefs. Everything you need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay is right there. Depending on the category you book, some rooms also come with a private pool. Overall: We had an incredible experience at The Sankara Resort and Spa and truly hope to visit again soon!

But: that’s the most expensive restaurant in Bali, we were visiting many more fine dining but they were nothing like this one. Also the hotel next to us has tennis court and they were playing all day which was disturbing us and we couldn’t rest during the day.. finally at our last day we asked to stay a couple hours because our flight was late and wanted to checked out at 5pm, they wanted us to pay 1.750 000 which is ridiculous, because that’s more expensive than one whole night. They were calling us early in the morning like 8am to ask if we will need housekeeping today and then the last day they called 3 times very early to tell us we need to pay almost 2 million for the extra 5 hours we wanted to stay :)) very disappointed for 4-star complex, definitely coming again to Bali but not this hotel.

• 804karlynl (2/5): Horrible - We recently stayed at Sankara Resort Ubud, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, the issues began. The room was poorly maintained, with visible cracks and signs of neglect. There were ants everywhere, and to make matters worse, we found a huge rat inside the room. The bug problem alone made it impossible to feel comfortable or relaxed. There is also ongoing construction on the property, which was disruptive and not clearly communicated beforehand. It completely ruined the peaceful atmosphere we expected in Ubud. The service was far from top-tier. The staff was rude and unhelpful throughout our stay. One of our guests even fell on the property, and the staff did absolutely nothing to assist or follow up. That lack of concern for guest safety was extremely disappointing. To make matters worse, they try to charge you for every single thing. It feels like they nickel-and-dime guests at every opportunity, which only added to the frustration. Overall, this was a horrible experience from start to finish. Between the cleanliness issues, poor maintenance, construction noise, poor service, excessive extra charges, and safety concerns, I would absolutely not recommend staying here.

Food was decent during the stay. However, there were some issues that affected the overall experience. The toilet was open, and it would have been better if there was at least a curtain for privacy. Food safety was also a concern, as ants were frequently attracted to the food inside the villa. Additionally, the private pool was quite deep at around 5.5 feet, which may not be suitable for everyone. Overall, while the hospitality was pleasant, improvements in facilities and food safety are needed.

The best nights sleep and breakfast was included in my deal. What a bargain! I had a Balinese massage by Dewa, he was amazing- I would highly recommend ALL THE ABOVE 10/10.

We wish we had stayed here longer. The hotel, grounds services and location are fantastic. The staff are so kind and helpful. The restaurant is great the food was amazing, the complementary breakfast and afternoon tea was delish and always a lot of choice and always so fresh. My daughter and I did Yoga which was also complementary and we all had foot massages which were great. One thing for us that really stood out for this hotel was how kind and helpful the staff were, every single member of staff we interacted with were all so nice, polite and helpful. Our villa was stunning, always an abundance of fresh fruit and water and towels were plentiful and always fresh. Would definitely give this a 5/5 every time. We will most definitely be back.

The main pool looked great to lounge around and swim in, but due to construction we were sadly unable to. The massage spa was exceptional and very good value for money. The room was clean and very nice. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only downside for our stay was that the property was under construction and so we couldn’t use the main pool and it was quite noisy during the day. However, this is not a permanent problem. The breakfast was a bit average in our opinion too.

• 246wassema (2/5): Worst Hotel Experience Ever – Ruined Our Anniversary - We booked 4 nights here for our wedding anniversary, excited to celebrate a special occasion. The moment we arrived, our excitement turned into regret. The entire property is under construction, with constant noise making it impossible to relax. The so-called “restaurant” was nothing more than a few tables shoved into a corner that looked like a street food stall, with no staff in sight. When we asked for a resolution, the only option offered was room service, essentially trapping us in our room while enduring the construction chaos outside. We requested to cancel and move elsewhere, but were told there is no cancellation and no refund—even though they failed to disclose any of this beforehand, despite us being in constant communication with them via WhatsApp. This is outright dishonest and misleading. Every time we asked for help, the answer was the same: “The manager is not around.” Either the manager works five minutes a day or this is just an excuse to avoid accountability. This hotel not only ruined our anniversary but also showed a complete lack of professionalism, transparency, and basic hospitality. Avoid this place at all costs. There are far better options nearby that actually care about their guests.

• 739dimitrid (10/5): Great nature escape - Staff is very friendly and amenities are excellent. The place is very beautiful and embedden in nature. Landscaping is absolutely stunning. They always make sure you have your breakfast delivered and whether you want to take the free yoga class.

• 609isaacv (10/5): Fantastic experience - My girlfriend and me were in our honey moon for six nights. It is an amazing place. Beautiful resort, green and you feel like in the jungle. Is located in good place, near to main city (Ubud). But you need to take a grab, taxi o rent a bike. Anyway you have a lot of offers of restaurants and pubs nearby, just walking a few metres. Very clean rooms and comfortable beds. The staff is very kind and helpful, every trouble you have they solve fast and effective. The already have many activities during the day and amenities in the night. Also an spa to a relaxing massage (fantastic massages but a bit expensives).
• jbrb6067 (2/5): Please count your money in the Safe daily! - It was a lovely villa although a little tired. However our stay was completely ruined as we had money taken out of the safe. We arrived on the Friday night and discovered this early Tuesday morning. So this would have happened Saturday,Sunday or Monday. We counted our Indonesian money Tuesday morning and realised a lot was missing we had only done a couple trips that were prepaid and hadn’t spent much. What made us 100% sure was we had two sealed envelopes with Singapore Dollars and English money, when we checked they were ripped open. Money had been stolen from both envelopes. We reported this to the police and they came and investigated but unfortunately no proof. The hotel Manager said no way her staff could do this and staff bags were checked that morning which was ridiculous as it would have happened before not the morning we were in our room! We had trouble with the safe on our first night and the security guard had to come and reset it, we had no problems after that locking it, in fact made us double check. The hotel manager made us feel we were lying and we know she will give a negative response as we have seen this on other people who have had money taken and left a review

• Grant (7/5): - The Sankara Resort is a good property overall, but it could use some care and attention. My room was comfortable enough, though there was a persistent damp smell, and the towels were quite worn and in need of replacement. In general, the facilities look like they would benefit from some updates and better upkeep. I also noticed that nearly every staff member was wearing a ‘trainee’ badge, which left me wondering where the more experienced team had gone. While the staff were polite and tried their best, the overall service lacked the polish you’d expect from a resort of this level. As other guests have mentioned, there is ongoing construction right next door, and it looks like it will continue for at least another six months — something to keep in mind if you’re looking for a quiet stay. That said, the resort itself has potential, and with some investment in maintenance and staff development, it could be a really special place again.
• Paul (9/5): Great hotel in good location - The hotel is very beautiful and we had a very relaxing couple the days here. We had a 2 bedroom suite with private pool, it was beautiful inside but unfortunately a huge building site next door was disappointing (I am sure for the hotel too). The bedrooms etc though were amazing. We didn't have sunbed sin eth suite which surprised us but the hotel did bring some in for us. The breakfast was good and the location good too. neighbouring building site is too big and highly damaging to the hotel setting although doesn't impact eth main pool area.

It is a very big and spacious room. You can do anything you want here, from spa experience to floating breakfast in your own pool. I also did the yoga class, that was very nice to do! The teacher was very good and helpful!

So accomodating, polite and lovely to deal with. I wish I could have stayed longer! The rooms were very big and well set-up, everything was cleaned and replenished to a great standard every day. The breakfast and dinner service was great quality and nothing was ever too much trouble. The resort itself was peaceful and tranquil and the spa treatments were amazing. Thank you to the Sankara team for making our stay so wonderful.
