- Neil (8/5): Friendly staff. Good food. The no late drinks rule seemed unusual to say the least. - Well located. Plenty of room in the public areas. The shower just didn’t work. Either scalding hot or freezing cold. No happy medium! Drinks were not available to residents after 10.15pm!!?? Unless you wished to buy a full bottle of wine or spirits!

- Elizabeth (10/5): Great stay in friendly coaching inn with lovely art work and history (literature) readily available, great food, nice at - Lovely and Comfortable stay, staff were hardworking and very helpful, 3 good nights sleep, we relaxed in our room and we also sat outside and enjoyed an unexpected happy hour on the Friday 5-7pm. Lovely breakfasts over our 3 night stay. We did not have an evening meal but the dining rooms were constantly full of diners and the food smelt and looked good. Our room was ready on arrival so got in early and didn’t have to wait till 3pm. We thought that having fresh milk in a refrigerator on the landing enabling us to have unlimited cups of tea/coffee in our room was a brilliant idea. Check out was easy as no mini bar in the room. They have dog friendly rooms too so I think we might be coming back if the opportunity arrives. We came for our Grandsons wedding at the church and had an amazing 3 days, we didn’t have time to explore the Roman town but had been before. Maybe when we come back again we will include this in our stay!

Greeting when I arrived a bit cursory because they were v busy. Carpark small - I got the last space... Not enough fruit available at breakfast.

- Lucy (7/5): - The location and the ambience of the lounge and bar areas My room No. 4 was very noisy. Poor sound-proofung - I could hear someone snoring. At 7.00am awoken by what sounded like a plane taking off. I was told that there have been complants about this room before as it is beside the hotel's kitchen air conditioning units, which are switched on when the chefs arrive in the morning. Not a relaxing stay!

- Keith (10/5): The Angel surpassed our expectations, proving very comfortable accommodation and delicious food. - The room looked recently updated ad fabulously refurbished with new attractive furniture and comfortable large double bed plus amazing new bathroom with powerful shower. We stayed with a group of 12 friends, all of whom were most impressed by the hotel. They highly complemented the excellent staff, and especially the chef for the delicious dinner and cooked breakfasts. Ideal as a venue for parties and group functions. The function buffet was generously plentiful and with wide selection of delicious food. The cheese soufflé was the stuff of legends! Highly recommended. Needed a box of tissues in the room please.
- Elizabeth (6/5): Disappointing stay - The staff were friendly in particular Mikey at breakfast service. Room 2. The carpet is old and in poor state of repair , the bed uncomfortable and the room not up to standard.the lounge area no longer inviting as it had been on previous stays. There were no comfy sofas and chairs and look cold and uninviting. I ordered scrambled eggs for breakfast and it was served on greasy fried bread.

For instance there was no USB point in my room which is unheard of these days, the shower temperature was virtually uncontrollable, and it was difficult to turn on the tap in the bathroom without getting wet from the spray. I notice that improvements were being made ( I.e. carpets) and I hope this will extend to the minor matters above, then the Angel will be worthy of its name! See above

Had family of six guests for breakfast Boxing Day morning who between them selected a range of the cooked breakfast options on the menu and thought the breakfast excellent. Not enough shelf space in room, and could do with folding stool for placing case on in room 8.

- Elgin (7/5): - Staff were very helpful! The room was a decent size, hot breakfast was good. Overall, a decent place to stay. Juice was warm at breakfast, coffee was not nice, could have done with a deeper clean, especially in the bar/breakfast room. Not many options for continental breakfast. Lots of fruit flies about. Decor in the bedroom felt strange, would have been better if the chair was swapped for a more fitting, less modern one. Better lighting needed especially at the desk for getting ready.

My room was very dark, only one tiny window looking onto a wall. No mirror at the dressing table and only one double socket. Could have been more hangers in the wardrobe. I couldn't turn the shower on and had to ask for help. When Jacob came ,even he struggled to get it working. First impressions when you come in are not good. The carpets are a disgrace and paintwork needs completely redoing. I would not recommend this hotel to my friends or family.

- Susan (9/5): comfortable stay in the centre of Corbridge - We were cycling and our bikes were stored safely in a locked room overnight. The welcome was great and our rooms were really nice, bright and clean and recently modernised. I had poor communication beforehand. The landline was out of order and I left voicemails twice on the mobile provided - no one got back to me. I also messaged through booking.com and again no response. I therefore didn't book the restaurant as I couldn't find out about GF options

- Sharon (7/5): Didn't get a chance to stay but can not fault the breakfast - when thought the breakfast was excellent we didn't get to stay at the Angel cause it was double booked or some people won't leave their room I didn't get a full reason why but to fair they got us a alternative hotel around the corner for the night but didn't gey there till quater past 6 then had breakfast back at the Angel the next day so I was impressed with that but not with the mix up would still go back to the Angel
- Cameron (1/5): A Serious Mess - The barman covering the breakfast shift was a very nice and chatty Soon after arriving, we found out that all of the rooms had been double booked. At 3pm check in time, we were told we couldn't get into our room, but that they'd leave keys in the room door for us to pick up after returning from the wedding we were attending. A couple of hours into the wedding, we recieved an email saying we were being relocated to a hotel down the road. I then had to call them several times, speaking with staff and eventually the manager, to figure out logistics of gaining access to a room in an unknown hotel at midnight. The room we were given was uncomfortable, with a small bed and bathroom, overly hot, and run down. Still waiting for the Angel management to contact me about a refund, which they promised they would.

- Sandra (7/5): Close to attractions in Corbridge. - The breakfast was good, a full, hot meal. The room was comfortable also. I had lunch in the restaurant and it was good, too. Help with luggage up the stairs would have been nice. The front desk was somewhat unresponsive at times, nobody there. I got the feeling that they were not truly friendly or overworked or distracted.

- Georgina (5/5): I wouldn’t stay here again. Beer garden and food looked nice - Room was clean and comfortable The entrance is very tired. Carpet needs replacing . There were lots of flies in the bar area at breakfast with some food and milk/ orange left uncovered . Milk and juice were not cold as left on the table
- Jeni (7/5): Lovely but overpriced for quality of the bedroom - Lovely old building, excellent food Room was bit tired looking and a bit cramped for a family of 3 (despite sleeping up to 4). Bedroom over the kitchen so smelt of fried food. Windows didn’t open fully

- David (9/5): Lovely stay in a really interesting inn - Breakfast was excellent. Shower was so simple - no levers or buttons to push and pull in countless directions, just lots of lovely hot water. Location couldn't have been better. Really friendly and helpful staff. Fresh milk for tea. Lots of history about the Inn. Wifi could have been easier.

- Marie (5/5): In a good location - The staff were friendly on arrival, the apartment we had was big/clean, the bathroom was lovely and clean, good location The bed was uncomfortable, the coffee machine in the room didn’t work, and the breakfast was bad I ordered dippy eggs and they were solid, and the rest of my family ordered the cooked breakfast which they didn’t enjoy, to get a coffee I had to order and pay extra as the coffee on the hot plate had been there from the start of the breakfast and didn’t get re filled, as well as everything else so get up early

- Anne (8/5): Corbridge special area - The bedroom was modern, well styled and comfortable. Cooked breakfast was nice and you could have what you wanted but the buffet was a bit basic and as I have food intolerances was not catered for. The main hotel areas are a bit tired has lots of potential to be excellent but think it needs some cosmetic upgrades. Found internet access difficult in rooms tried to sign in several times without luck. Car park was good and was a popular bar and food place at night. Everything shuts at 10pm so is quiet and great for a nights rest Corbridge is a lovely wee town
