Guest Reviews
- Nancy (10/5): When we checked in and went to room it was not what I had reserved. I am older and the bed was against the wall so troub - It was rustic and had the amenities we were looking for primarily a place to have a fire outside! Bed was so comfortable
- Elston (5/5): OK but would not use the rooms in the hall - Breakfast was fabulous Bad pick on room very small. Walls paper thin. No extras
- Sandy (10/5): Fantastic - Very quiet and peaceful A little cool
- Christa (10/5): - Yes
- Lora (10/5): - We absolutely loved this place. It is clean, beautiful, peaceful and it isn’t like a normal hotel. We never heard our neighbors eventho it was packed. The free breakfast the next morning is so good. And a full breakfast not just toast or waffles. We also loves the old western town buildings. Our family will be back.
- Dawn (10/5): - Very cute resort. Nice quiet place to relax and enjoy. A small western theme town built on the property to explore. Included golf and other activities. Excellent for families. No dinner service, but they offered a nice warm breakfast. I’d recommend it.
- Ashley (10/5): Cute - Amazing views Nothing
- Jennifer (10/5): - I took a chance on choosing this lodging and to my dismay I was surprised. I would absolutely recommend this place to stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. It was clean, breakfast was top notch and lots of space to enjoy privacy with a meal and drinks under the canopy of trees and calmness. If you’re looking for relaxation you will find it here. We will be staying there in the future.
- Kathleen (10/5): - The room was small and spotless. Staff wonderful. Liz made our check in experience lovely. Grounds are gorgeous and plenty of conversation spots indoors and outdoors which were way better than a chair in our room. Delicious breakfast too. This was our 36th day on the road so breakfast variety scored points . Mixed fruit baked French toast concoction (apple, strawberry and blueberry) and a fluffy egg and cheese bake that was real egg!
- Sara (10/5): - Beautiful property off the beaten path! We found this gem while traveling between cities and wanted to visit Hermann for a night. It was peaceful & quiet. The breakfast was wonderful and the staff was great! We took a nice walk along the golf course after breakfast and checked out the property. Highly recommend!
- Kathleen (10/5): Great deal! - Great room! Clean and comfortable. The included breakfast was excellent! Awesome experience for the money!
- Sharon (8/5): The hotel is far from the Winery so it would be nice for a complementary shuttle because it takes forever to get an Uber - Serene Tooo cold,no microwave, no coffee pot and no phone in the room
- DeWitt (10/5): -
- Heather (10/5): - We had never heard of this property before but with it's proximity to Hermann, we thought we would give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised with the entire stay. The property was beautiful with several buildings, a wedding venue, pool, golf course, and walking path. We were in the main building in a king room. The room was small but clean with a comfortable bed. There was a mini fridge as well as a small desk. They had a hot breakfast in one of the buildings that looks like an old west town, which was so-so. We got there towards the end and not many things were left or refilled, so it likely was better earlier on. The hotels.com confirmation said the staff would only be there from 3-5 pm for checking, but we found staff to be there at all hours. We're glad we found this location and look forward to another visit.
- James (8/5): Great family gathering - Excellent breakfast. Lots to pool: pool golf walks, all complimentary. Beautiful landscape and views. In wine country, yet secluded. Ideal for family gatherings, but still offers cabins if you want privacy. Wonderful staff Should have stayed in a cabin. Room in the lodge was small, bathroom smaller. Restaurant was closed for dinner
- Debra (10/5): Cedar Creek....a Hidden Gem!! - We spent a Wednesday to Friday at the Cedar Creek Hotel resort. It is conveniently located about 12 miles east of Hermann, Missouri in New Haven, Missouri. We brought several family members with us to experience the German history, culture, and food Hermann is known for.
We have been to Hermann numerous times, but this was our first time staying at Cedar Creek. It was Wonderful. It is located off the highway on a large farm estate. The family has renovated the original homestead buildings, and has built a hotel, cabins, and family condos, as well as, an old western town and venue space for weddings and large gatherings. The large grounds offer beautifully maicured perennial gardens, winding stone walkways, secret sitting areas, a salt water pool, golf couse, and fishing pond. There are fireplaces, firepits, and tables and chairs throughout the grounds. We stayed in the hotel. Our room was large with a comfortable King bed, arm chair, and mini frig. There is a full hot and cold breakfast by their chef every morning.....it was delicious! They also have fresh pizzas and pretzels (frozen) available at the front desk.
All of the staff, front desk and grounds keepers, were super friendly and helpful. It was nice learning about the original owners and family phots throughout the hotel.
We will definitely be staying here on our future trips to Hermann.
- Mary (8/5): - I got nothing
- John (10/5): - The property was a beautiful location for a wedding and the western theme is fun.
- Sharon (8/5): - Rooms were great, very clean and updated nicely. Grounds were kept up well but slightly disappointed that the "old" town was dormant/dead/empty. Even if there was just a small spot 4p-8p for a beer or glass of wine with some piped in music would have been nice.
- Daniel (10/5): - was remote, close to tourist areas, clean. excellent breakfast provided with room.
only problem was loud guests in hallways when we were trying to sleep.
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ricardo (8/5): Very good - It was clean and comfortable, we're just passing through but if I was looking for queit place and really nice place to stay, this would have been a good selection. Dinning choices.
- Bradley (10/5): Great place for active couples who love adventure. - We had a great time. Played some golf, was a B rate course but for free...me and the competitive wife had a lot of fun. Tennis, pool table, beautiful walks, they made us a fire outside. There were 2 weddings that weekend so who doesn't like to people watch. If you are down to earth and like to have a good time. We are going back for sure.
- Mike (7/5): Would have loved to explore the entire property - Clean facility and room, comfortable bed We could not access the walking trail, pond and golf course since there was a wedding during our stay. We were told by staff members that we needed to try and stay out of sight since the wedding party had rented out the entire property for that weekend.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Enjoyed our stay! Would definitely stay again. - I enjoyed the ‘old western town’ vibe The floor in our room creaked. Signage was lacking where things were.
- Chris (9/5): Superb - The scenery and atmosphere was great. I would have liked to have seen the restaurant and bar open. maybe some fire pits
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Great visit for a wedding. Can be a very low key place for those who want it or lots of stuff for people who want things to dom
- Suzanne (8/5): - Great property! We were there while a wedding event was also there and no complaints, it was a pleasent environment! We will return!
- Jeffrey (8/5): Thermostat in room didn’t work, too cold. No major network tv stations. - Interesting resort, historic like property. Front desk didn’t have any property maps. Hard to figure out where and what was in some of the public buildings.
- Paul (10/5): Exceeded Expectations!! - Great staff, excellent accommodations, amazing breakfast!
- Margie (8/5): It’s was an enjoyable trip because of all the family with us. Breakfast was very good. - Very beautiful grounds and area. It’s was not handicapped friendly. The parking lot was a ways from the hotel and no bell hops to help with luggage . The room was very small and it was old but remodeled
- Cathy (10/5): - Very quiet, secluded property with neat little cabins. A big lake and a golf course surrounded them.
- Sydney (10/5): - We had a lovely time in the Carriage House 6A! Property was spotless and relaxing. Beautiful landscaping with native flowers and a salt water pool. The lady working reception, Ariel, was great! She wrote down suggestions for eating spots and gave us home-made cookies and milk. We had a relaxing stay and will definitely go back.
- Terrance (8/5): - Enjoyed the quiet.
- Lawrence (8/5): - We were one of the few people staying at the resort, but found it to be very comfortable. The young lady at the registration desk was a bit slow to address us when we arrived, but other than that, the service was very good, lovely pool, room & a delicious breakfast. We would stay here again in the future.
- Sangeeth (10/5): Excellent breakfast and comfortable night - Rooms were clear and comfortable. Very calm and no outside noises. Good place to walk around and enjoy nature. We had an excellent breakfast.
- Martha (6/5): Pleasant - The property itself was beautiful and the grounds were very nice. Our room was on the corner of the building by the door due to a wedding party. We could hear everyone go in and out all throughout the night and the next morning. Our room was very small and the bathroom wasn't the cleanest.
- Sam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jessica (6/5): - We were told at check in, golf carts were all out for the evening because of a wedding party, which was understandable..we checked back Saturday, again told all rented out. Then Sunday. Another person said oh, we dont let people have carts. I dont understand why we werent just told that in the 1st place. No two workers said the same thing about anything on the property, very annoying and an inconvenience
- Verified traveler (6/5): Relaxing weekend gone mediocre - Room was small, tv didn’t work and they never even attempted to fix it, no restaurant on site closed, asked for more towels nope. One plug in the room. No place to put toiletries in bathroom pedestal sink had to keep on desk.
Best part of our 2 day stay was the towns that surrounded the resort. Beautiful area
- Robert (6/5): Pleasant - Grounds were very beautiful, and it appears the cabins were very nice. However, the hotel rooms while very clean were very small. Restaurant was open, which wasn't communicated
- Whit (9/5): Superb -
- Bill (8/5): Very good -
- Hailey (10/5): - Loved the quit atmosphere and the breakfast was great!
- Melinda (8/5): Beautiful scenery, but isolated so come prepared - The resort is beautiful. It’s kept very clean. The pool is nice. Peaceful and great scenery. However, they need some sort of food options. They have some drinks available for purchase on site but nothing else available and it’s a good jaunt into town. Also, we had a king sized bed but it wasn’t a king bed. It was two twins pushed together so we couldn’t really sleep together as I kept falling down into the crack between the beds. Overall a beautiful place. It is a great option for weddings or reunions. And if you want to be left alone. But bring a cooler and food or you’re going to be running back and forth to town.
- Ieva (8/5): Very good -
- Beth (10/5): Couples trip - The food was great. The staff was super friendly.
- Craig (10/5): Very Relaxing. - Great location. Clean and peaceful. The restaurant not being open.
- Manda (10/5): - The room had been recently renovated it seemed, which was nice, but he floors hadn't been mopped. My feet turned black walking barefoot and everything had a good layer of dust and dead flying bugs. The room was nice tho, well maintained. Quiet and beautiful walkable property.
- Tamara (8/5): Girl getaway - We were planning a weekend to visit Hermann Mo and not to many choices of places to stay so we took a chance with Cedar Creek in New Haven. We loved out cottage we stayed in with our own screened in porch. It was like stepping back in time going to the Town Hall for breakfast. Great getaway!
- Marilyn (10/5): Peaceful retreat - Our stay was very nice. Check-in was easy and they accommodated us by moving us to a room with no stairs. The property is very well kept and it is comfortable and quiet.
I would suggest putting hand rails in the shower and some place to put the soap/shampoo/wash cloth in the shower and on the sink. We were not fans of having the AC unit over the bed blowing down on us, but once we adjusted the fan and thermostat, it was not too bad.
We would definitely stay here agin.
- David (10/5): Rustic but nice - We were only staying for one night, but wish had a few more days/nights to enjoy the amenities and explore the area. The staff was very nice and we had a nice time.
- Ann (10/5): How had we not heard about this place? - I had modest expectations and needs were few... and was so pleasantly surprised. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. Such a UNIQUE place. Loved it! I'm telling my friends and will definitely go back.
- Calvin (8/5): - It was a nice room. For a cottage, a couch or love seat would have been nice. The restaurant on the premises wan't open. The desk clerk could have been more informative when we checked in. Room was clean.
- Melissa (1/5): Horrible Wedding Anniversary Weekend Getaway - Okay clean Everything else, beginning with the person at check in requesting my credit card number again after paying ahead of time for my room and her promising she was not charging my card again however she did charge me again and more than I previously paid. So the next 45 minutes to an hour was spent on the phone with credit card company while the clerk called several people trying to undo the mistake she made by charging for the second time the room charge... It was a horrible weekend getaway for our wedding anniversary...
- Terry (10/5): Fun car club trip. - Quite & out of the way. Big breakfast buffet.
- gene (10/5): - All is well! I am grateful!
- Maassen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephen (8/5): - It was clean and convenient for our overnight stay. Very peaceful and quite.
- Marti (6/5): The concept is good and if you were a large group it would be a great fit. But as a couple it just wasn’t what I was hop - It’s was nice set up and bed was super comfy. The property is very spread so lots of walking to find the buildings and rooms. Outdoor lighting was our biggest issue, not only was it difficult to find your way but also felt a bit unsafe. Better signage would help also. The bathroom was FREEZING no way I was taking shower in there. Room was cozy but felt as if there was NO heat in the bathroom.
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful surroundings. Just a really nice place all around
- Kevin (10/5): - Pictures don’t do it justice. Very cute cottages that were very comfortable. Will definitely come back.
- Rachel (10/5): - We were pleasantly surprised how beautiful these cottages were and we will definitely be back!
- Lori (2/5): - We had to walk from the parking lot to our cabin and the path was only partially lit up. When we got into our cabin, it was so, so cold. We could not get it to warm up. It was cold all night. For the price I paid, it could have had heat.
- Patrick (10/5): Exceptional -
- Clark (10/5): - This is such a neat place to stay! The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the breakfast was great! I loved the western themed town. I would definitely return if we are in the area again.
- Julie (10/5): - A very unique experience. Will def b back.
- ricky (10/5): - Very convenient place outside of Hermann. Breakfast was awesome along with the facilities. Would like to come back during the summer and enjoy the pool and the lake.
- Amber (10/5): We will be back. - Breakfast was amazing. So many options. The scrambled eggs had a weird wax texture to them but other than that it was excellent. The water pressure in the shower. It was skimpy.
- Connie (10/5): Amazing - Found this by accident, did not know it even existed… was beautiful the place , the sites nice recreation area nice place to sit by fireplace. Overall amazing
- Andrew (10/5): Unique and cute - Such a unique and cool experience. Had no idea it would be so cute
- Larry (10/5): - The property is well kept, quiet and very private. As with most lodging, the water pressure in the shower is sub par. Other than that, it is a great place. We will stay there again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Quaint lodge. - The staff was so friendly. It is in a very quiet location with very little to do. We booked it because it was relatively close to Hermann.
- PAULA WALTERS (10/5): - Cleanliness is important to us. It was very quiet and the atmosphere was fun. Old West replica.
- franhD2746GF (6/5): Beautiful grounds but room left much to be desired - The grounds are beautiful and have plenty of space for those who like to walk. The trumpeter swans are beautiful to see. However, my room in the lodge left much to be desired. The bed was against the wall with no space to move it away from the wall. There were no night stands or desk - just one small chair with wooden arms. It was by far the smallest hotel room I've stayed in. The bathroom was small and the shower was rusty and small. There were 2 dead bugs in the room when I got there. I later killed another bug in the bedroom and later in the evening there was a wasp. It had not been there earlier so it must have come from one of the gaps in the floor or ceiling. Someone else had driven me to our meetings and was already asleep or I would have asked them to drive me to a different hotel. Colleagues who were at the lodge with me did not have the same issues with their rooms that I had so I'm hoping it was just a fluke.
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Kimberly (8/5): Very good - The location was beautiful. My husband and I loved the rustic feeling it gave us and the food was amazing! We could not get the cable to work in our room.
- Angela (10/5): - The set up was cute! We were in a cottage.
- jeanmarkjackson (10/5): Perfect Family Get Away - This is a perfect get away spot. Only about 70 minutes west of St. Lous, this charming place is nestled in the hills of New Haven, MO. We enjoyed hiking, swimming in the salt water pool, family time in the Manor House and just relaxing. And those of you who still want to stay connected, Yes, they have great wifi. Accommodations include breakfast the next morning at the Town Hall. (They also have a tennis court, small golf course and a pond for fishing).
- Deborah (8/5): Very good -
- David (10/5): - We loved the old town effect. Would like to return with more time. Very quaint and enjoyable.
- Susan (10/5): Helpful staff - We arrived at about 7 pm. We were anticipating eating at the restaurant on the property but it was closed due to a wedding rehearsal dinner. So we had to go back to Hermann where we had just come from in order yo eat dinner.
- Chris (10/5): - Love the old look of the bedroom furniture with the new technology hidden inside. The breakfast was awesome. Staff was super nice. The old western town area is great to sit around at night and smoke cigars around the fire. Its about as close to Hermann as I would want to be plus its closer to the best winery in the area with the best views.
- alexandra (10/5): - This property is so beautiful. The grounds are stunning and the staff are super friendly.
- Carrie (10/5): - Very nice and clean. It was quiet and in a beautiful setting.
- robert (8/5): Step back in time. - Interesting place, very friendly and relaxing, but a bit over priced for what it was. Clean and updated but retains old feeling. Coffee available near the room but no way to get the hot water necessary. Overall , enjoyed the stay. Great breakfast.
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mabel (10/5): - Lovely grounds, excellent staff, very clean rooms. Just the place to enjoy some peace & quiet! We will be back!
- janet (10/5): - Of course the replica "Old western cowboy town buildings" are very unique. Fun to checkout! The "grounds" and trails around them are unique as well. Lots of "cozy" little table and chair groupings to sit and enjoy the scenery are placed around the property as well. Yes, liked it and plan to return again just for a "stay" there.
- Beverly (10/5): - Different and quaint. Great breakfast!
- Jim (9/5): Superb -
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Girls weekend.. Got to hotel and was informed that the resteraunt and bar were closed due to a wedding.. Nothing posted on web site or calendar showing closings. 3 other couples celebrating different occasions were very disappointed as well. Everyone booked because food and drinks were on the property.. The pool was thankfully open. We also had to change rooms because they didnt have a remote for the tv in our room.. Cable was horrible.. just an overall bad experience.. !!
- Shannon (10/5): - Wonderful experience – this was a great getaway for our anniversary. The grounds are immaculate and well kept. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We were complimentary upgraded to a cottage. These are actually quite new and modern so don’t let ‘cottage’ fool you. Spacious and we had a nice screened in patio. Such a pleasant surprise 😊 It was so peaceful. Everything was in walking distance and each piece of the property had its own feel. The salt water pool was refreshing. One drawback was the only restaurant was closed for the day so you had to go off property for dinner. Not sure how often that happens during wedding season. The complimentary breakfast was robust spread and pretty good except for the eggs which did not taste like eggs and my husband swears gave him an upset stomach. Other than that, it was good. Great place for a wedding, event, or just a quick getaway. Will definitely go back!
- Darrell (10/5): It was a delightful place. Very clean and quiet. - The breakfast was simple but very good. Really like the town hall and all of the surrounding. Everything was fine
- Raney (10/5): Charming Cottages - The cottages & restaurant were very charming & nice.
- Pamela (10/5): - This property has a very unique setting. Multiple picture opportunities. Staff was very accommodating.
- Brandi (8/5): quiet relaxing stay after a day at the wineries - It was a very quiet and unique place. The breakfast was very good. We were there in early May so they were just getting the pool ready.
- John (10/5): - Very nice place, try to make recycling foolproof although I know it’s hard
- gerald (10/5): - Owner came over to introduce herself and explain about the property. Breakfast was delicious. Wonderful grounds to stroll.
- Brenda (10/5): - Out of the way place and interesting old town
