- 88keithl (2/5): Mr Nur service is unacceptable and i requested a full refund - We checked in this hotel just about 10 minutes after arrived. We found in the room 133 that our phone line is not in coverage therefore we requested to change a room but then the receptionist Mr Nur mentioned that most of the room at this floor is the same and didn’t acted courteous to offered a room changing for us. What’s going on? Therefore when I going down to reception and discussing with them, they mentioned room changing and upgrading will be charges of RM40 which they didn’t offered us at first place. Then I humbly asked for refund because they didn’t offered me a room changing at same rates at first place and lastly they didn’t offered any solutions at all and ignored me for such small matters

- tekken56k (10/5): Lovely stay - Check in was easy parked car outside lobby checked in, had a security deposit of rm 100 which is refunded upon checkout, car park is on the 5th and 6th floor you would need your room access card to enter car park. We got a room on the 15th floor, room was clean and view was great, Aircond takes a while to cool down but they have a ceiling fan too so it helps, got great views of Penang bridge and sea in the distance, there are many nice food shops behind the hotel, will surely come again

- merlene1234 (8/5): THE NARCIS CHRISTMAS GATHERING 2019 - We celebrated our family gathering on the 25 Dec 2019 at this hotel and were very pleased with the services rendered to us. The staff went out of their way to do the very best for our family. Sincere thanks to Kate and her team for being there on standby to see that the event went out well. The food was excellent and we had lots of fun and games.

Rooms are well crafted for decency with all basic amenities food was variety was decent at breakfast. however few things can be improved is IRD Services and HK services , they need to be more prompt on services, overall it was good stay. ,

- pohkuen (2/5): A day where all system is down. - I checked in on 27/4/18 and was told the system is down and they cannot issue printed receipt. Later when I parked my car into the building , I was told the parking ticketing system is down. It shows how poorly the whole hotel is managed. The parking insisted I pay before entry even as I told him I am a guest. I ask him if I can claim back later and he say no. But after complaining at the front desk, they say I can claim back. It shows how poorly the staff are train. Early morning , the housekeeping had his Wilkie talkie volume blasting away. What a nuisance. The water heater is placed so high, shorter guest will not be able to reache the temperature control. Wifi either doesn't work or none. The room is not worth rm 200. Cannot even match a budget hotel.

The room was very small not as advertised in the apps & the flush wasn’t working. The photo in the apps is misleading. For breakfast the food quality is poor. We stayed there for 3 days & they served same selection of food along the 3 days. My advice find another hotel don’t stay here.

The bed was comfy but the room itself was gross - writings on the wall, and I was only able to be in the shower for less than 5 mins. The water got cold instantly. - Very disappointed with the food. The chicken sausage tasted like rubber. I really only had coffee and bread. Also there was bugs flying around the soup section. - The staff was indeed polite and helpful. I am a gold star member with Expedia and travel a lot using Expedia. It seems they DO NOT look into each hotel thoroughly before agreeing to which hotel they will represent. If this happens again with Expedia then I will not be using them.

Room was not as nice as in pic, very old setting in fact, breakfast was so mediocre with very limited choices, not enjoyable at all. In short, it was not a place that we want to be again, even just for a short one night stay.

- KhinYChong (6/5): A decent place to rest - Stayed here for a day during my trip to Butterworth. Location was quite central and the hotel was easy to find. The hotel is huge with the old wing and new wing. I stayed at the old wing and the walk from main reception to the rooms at old wing can get a bit far. Rooms were good size and had all the usual amenities. Breakfast was a bit disappointing as by the time I came down for breakfast, everything was already finished.

Earlier, we booked Standard Room (without knowing it was located at another block) but later changed to Fajar Superior Room which located near the lobby block. The hotel is quite old. The interior is also quite outdated. Luckily, the room that I've got is clean. My colleague got a room which is not properly cleaned! The breakfast were not bad for the price we paid, MYR160/night for 2. Don't mind staying here again, but the front desk staff (friendly) need to be trained up, as they speaks 'very Indonesian English', which we could hardly understand.

Dirty pillow case (stain black color) even though request for change, spiders running around the dining table in the restaurant / coffee house, room charges with daily breakfast were fully paid for however upon hotel check-in only 1 day breakfast was given and subsequent days breakfast was asked to again pay at rate of RM20 per person per day. Was cheated by the information published in Hotels.com that the room deal comes with daily breakfast but it is otherwise where guest was asked to pay for breakfast at the hotel upon check-in.

- AhP130 (8/5): WORTH STAYING - Room is okay, and nearby food court and restaurant, good location and easy to access to factory area. Got big function rooms for company to held up event or dinner party as well. It got one nice spa on level 8 floor at main block of the hotel. Free Gym
- masahadi (6/5): Okay hotel for a good night's sleep - My first choice hotel in George town was booked up by the time I got back from a trip to Sabah so I booked two rooms for my friend, family members and I at this hotel as it had cheaper rates than if we stayed in most hotels on the island. Location wise, it is quite near the ferry terminal to Penang so easy to take a ferry than take the bridge. The beds in the room are quite comfy to sleep in and I had a good rest after a long drive from KL. However, my friend complained that she heard some unpleasant noises from the adjacent room as she was sleeping near the connecting room door. On the second night, we only saw/heard fireworks at midnight because it was New Year's Eve. They had a kettle to make tea and coffee in the room but we were only provided with one mug. We asked for another mug but they gave more tea and coffee packs instead but no mug. My friend told me she vaguely understood the guy telling her that guests sometimes steal the mugs so that is why there is only one in the room. I checked in the other room and surprise, surprise they had two mugs so I took one from there to take to my room as they weren't using it. As for the food served at buffet breakfast, it was okay to fill us up before we went on our sightseeing excursion in Penang but nothing special. On the second morning, the server came and told me I was using breakfast tokens from the previous day and thought I was recycling yesterday's and maybe didn't paid for the second morning. I told him to check with the reception because that was all the coupons they gave me. He checked and afterwards came back and gave a very faint smile when he saw me and didn't apologise for the inconvenience. Apparently, the receptionist had written the wrong dates on them when I received them upon check in. So then he cleared the plates on one side of our table but didn't dare to clear the plates on my side. My friend and I thought it funny to see his antics. Some of the hotel staff probably weren't properly trained to deal with customers nicely.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Don't expect much customer service during night - Night shift attendance having dinner at the customer service counter, as a result, we are unable to reach them on the phone. I personally walked down to the lobby to talk to them. Night shift crew don't speak English very well because they are from Indonesia. There is no ownership and responsibility at work. Dinner is more important than customer service.

- thavarajaht2018 (4/5): Dissapointing - Stayed in this hotel for a night and booked 3 rooms for business travel. Rooms located are too far and it joins few blocks. It's like a maze walking to your room. Not advisable to aged people and children. Despite having my confirmed booking print out, it did take a long time to check as as the trainee staffs took alot of time. Breakfast was good and that's the only plus point during this stay.

- angel (4/5): Old hotel, musty smell among corridor - Old hotel, need to do some maintenance/upgrade. There is musty smell once the lift open (among the corridor). Even though i have reach home and bath so many times but my hair still with musty smell. Sharp at 12pm the staff will call for check out, but when we reach the receiption, the system was down since 20 minutes ago. Staff need more training. Confusion while crowd of people.

First of all , request a single twin bed , when check in , double confirm with staff , staff say yes yes until we enter the room its king size bed . Wanna call but room phone is not working . Walk all the way down , ask staff , say all fully booked already . What to do . Well , enter room , (standard wing) , hotel kinda old , room kinda old . Plug only have one . Paint on wall is tearing off . Parking kinda hard where u need to round and round and round up the parking lot . I stay at 6th floor which i think i walked 2km to my room == room beside me is kinda noisy at night . People walking around , ding ding dong dong . Location is nice where food is around . THAT"S ALL .

- AnilJethwa (2/5): One night stay - I'm sure this hotel was much nicer in years gone by. Sadly my one night stay was awful. Not one positive thing sticks out. Old, dated, untidy and dirty. Photo shows the dirt built up on the bathroom extract. If my office hadn't prepaid I'd have simply driven to another establishment up the road. Never again.

- _hkwong101 (4/5): The worst Hotel i had stay before with the room rate they charging - Been check in this hotel on last Tuesday , it look nice when you enter the hotel lobby and giving you the impression it will be a comfortable stay here. But i have to say - Dont judge the book by it cover ". Firstly the receptionist didn't seem to have the warm welcome look (maybe they are not proper train ). After i got my room key straight took the lift and walk to the room, my confident level is a bit drop on this hotel while i walking toward my room(i have snap shot some picture as attach) its a dirty hotel which not maintain well, Most of the lower staff like waiter or room service , house keeping are foreign workers ( i think from Nepal or Myanmar and they seems cannot understand what i am saying.. The internet connection are the worst which no way you can connect although they are giving you 2 new password everyday. The second day of my stay i was unable to access my room and have to go to protectionist the reactive again and the reason is server down. unfortunately it continue until i check out on Saturday. i need to reactive my access card daily at the receptionist and the reason given is maybe because eof the batter at the access door . To cut it short, this will be the last time i will check into this hotel, Maybe you all can check out the picture attach and judge your self.
- H7883HQrichardw (6/5): HOTEL IN BUTTERWORTH - One of the earliest hotel in Butterworth. Location is very easy to find as it is facing the main road. It is also located to where lots of good food restaurants is, which is just a walking distance. Service & pricing is acceptable.

Don't believe them that they have free wifi because Very very bad wifi connections in rooms or lobby or receptions area or anywhere Toilets didn't flushed it properly that we booked in two rooms . Very far from Penang island .

- sherla26 (2/5): Ugh~! - Stayed here again , this time for 2 weeks. Staying at the new wing,I noticed that every afternoon I would hear doors being close roughly by the housekeeping ..i don't know.. captain? I think she was inspecting the rooms after the rooms are cleaned up. I was napping and were alarmed by the banging doors. During the last day, we had to check out late ,so I called the reception and a chinese man answered. I told him that we will be checking out after 6pm and will make payment during the checkout. And he was like ' No! No! YOU MUST MAKE PAYMENT NOW OR LATER PEOPLE WILL KNOCK AT YOUR DOOR! " I was like .what the hell??! At least I have the courtesy to call them and informed them that I will be checking out late . He thinks that we will run away ah and will not pay the remaining balance. When we checked out ,I noticed the chinese guy with the blue shirt is the one that spoke to me on the phone. There were some misunderstanding too during the checkout and he explained everything macam nak cari gaduh. Note to self, next time will never again stay at this lousy service hotel!

- Nur Amalina (6/5): money worth it - the first problem with this hotel is they didn't tell you how to get down from your room to the main lobby to have your breakfast. it took 30 minutes for us to find the way back as the lift that located near to our room would just sent you to the car park and you cant even get to your room using the same lift. next is the breakfast taste so bad. the hotdog is the worst i cant even eat it. but the scramble egg was delicious !! the next problem is the bed sheet that they changed for the second night were stinks. but overall we had a great time there as the environment is silent and peace.
