Guest Reviews
- Claire (10/5): A beautiful house. - A beautiful house. Perfect for our family gathering. Lovely gardens and outdoor seating areas.
- Azad (10/5): Fantastic family gathering. - It exceeded our expectations! The facilities were excellent, the staff (Pam and Amelia) were very friendly, and everything was clean and spacious. The big rooms came with large private bathrooms, providing plenty of space for everyone. We had a wonderful time—five families with kids enjoyed it immensely, and we will return again! Nothing
- Ema (10/5): Exceptional -
- Heather (9/5): A truly lovely place for a large family holiday. - Lovely setting , private and secure garden for children / dog.
Loved the kitchen/ dining room , we had plenty of room to all sit and eat together.
Lovely bedrooms and bathrooms.
Plenty of space to be together , or have a bit of time alone. Couldn't fault it , everything was lovely .
- Samantha (10/5): Incredible house, beautiful grounds - This property is EXQUISITE. It’s been renovated with meticulous care and it felt like a privilege to stay here. Pulling in to the property was a real ‘wow’ experience, it is very grand and set in the most beautiful grounds. When you start exploring you realise the property is much larger than you expect, each bedroom has its own bathroom with roll top bath and sensational view. My favourite detail was in the room that used to be the pig sty, with the windows at ground level which once would’ve been openings for the pigs. The house is well stocked, we brought lots of glassware and it was totally unnecessary. Highlight was sitting by the fire in the evening in a living room big enough to seat all 17 of us! And the very gorgeous black cat that regularly visited for cuddles - we affectionately named him Salem. We honestly loved everything, no faults!
- Burrows (10/5): Wows all round for Willington - Everything! The space was perfect for our family group, and the children loved the freedom of the open spaces. The rooms were beautifully furnished, but also really homely and comfortable. All appliances etc. were in working order, and the Aga came in useful for some family meals around the huge dining table. The outside covered seating area was a fabulous space to sit in during the evenings, and the warm throws and comfy cushions were a lovely touch. There was nothing that any of our group didn't like! My only observation would be that a larger BBQ would be useful.
- Joanne (10/5): Fabulous, far exceeded all my expectations - Everything was on point, down to the small things like hand soap, N/A
- Umaymah (10/5): Exceptional - Wow, what an incredible experience! Our stay at the beautiful lodge was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The lodge itself was stunning, with breathtaking views and cosy, stylish interiors. The amenities were top-notch, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. We felt like royalty throughout our stay. The location was also ideal, surrounded by nature and tranquillity. It was the perfect getaway to relax and recharge. We couldn't have asked for a better holiday retreat. We're already planning our next visit! 10/10, hands down!
- Sijo (7/5): Overall, would recommend for multiple families to stay in as it is a cosy and comfortable stay. - The facilities were amazing also very spacious. Good for lots of families as there is multiple living rooms and dining rooms. Jacuzzi is big and made the accommodation even better. Very cosy and comfortable. Accommodation itself was amazing however there is a few cobwebs and spiders in the corners of room although this was not a particularly giant issue.
- Yvonne (10/5): hidden gem - attentive hosts, beautiful property and location with everything you need, nothing too much trouble and the little touches go a long way!
- Allan (10/5): Amazing place beautiful tasteful quiet I love it - Whole experience was lovely owner and staff couldn’t have done any more and the breakfast was. 10/10 Having to leave
- Emily (10/5): Exceptional - gorgeous place, clean quite and comfortable. Well equipped kitchen and lovely extra touches.
- Susan (9/5): A lovely place to stay. - very attractive property. lovely gardens with lots of seating areas. Our room had everything that you need but was very compact. More space would have made the stay even more pleasurable.
- Vernon (10/5): Exceptional - The breakfast was superb , the choice was excellent, superbly cooked and presented. The room was beautifully decorated with a superb bathroom and the garden surroundings was exceptional, it was indeed so peaceful and quiet that we did not leave any morning until well past midday. We look forward to returning next year There was nothing that we did not like!

- Gillian (10/5): Beautiful setting, tasteful decor and friendly staff. - The setting, room, whole place was beautifully presented. A quiet and rural setting. The room was tasteful and homely with small fridge containing goodies for purchase which was a bonus. The breakfast was outstanding and the staff all friendly and chatty. Would 100% recommend. Small niggle but a few cobwebs in corners. That’s all I can think of!

- Christina (8/5): A nice stay in a beautiful lodge but would’ve liked a better room. - Stunning lodge. Gorgeous surroundings. Lovely host. Very nice good quality breakfast. Comfortable bed and beautiful decor. The room (gamekeeper’s room) was quite small and felt very dark, the two small windows at floor level were blocked by two unnecessary chairs (room was too small for the chairs) the other window and the door both had frosted glass which didn’t let in much light. I realise this was probably why the lovely host had all the lights on in the room when we were first shown it. Felt just a little bit claustrophobic The decor was lovely but a wee bit too busy for a small room. We had two friends staying in the Butler’s room which was more spacious light and airy with access to a beautiful private sitting area in a walled garden. When checking booking later we realised the prices were the same so we would absolutely Return to Willington Lodge but not to our room. We had no internet connection. Each time we tried to connect it said move closer to the source I.e Willington lodge kitchen or courtyard. Which we couldn’t do This was disappointing as my husband needed the internet when we were staying. He had to sit by the open door to get a connection. Also our 4/5 G didn’t work in the room either.
- James (9/5): Exceptional - comfortable, welcoming friendly.excellent location for the family wedding we were attending
