I want to thank Zoe and the rest of the staff for their quick response in accommodating a last minute request and I would definitely book with Boardwalk whenever I am in the area again. - Prakash (4/5): - There was no clear indication at the time of booking that the room would be located in the basement. Noise from people walking or talking on the main floor is quite noticeable, which can be disruptive. Additionally, the bed is unsteady and makes noise with even slight movements.

- Nick (4/5): - It was misadvertizing on the Expedia platform This is a Hostel NOT an exclusive rooms There’s absolutely NO sound insulation you can hear next door person talking… NO smoke detectors in the room The doors are NOT fire proof as per regulations in Ontario There’s NO tv in the room ( it’s a mandatory for Airbnb) Carpet in high traffic areas, which is very hard to maintain clean Towels were very old and ripped Was absolutely misleading and overpriced for that room And I don’t think residential house can be converted for Hostel without any safety and fire regulations by Ontario laws
- Karen (10/5): An adventurous alternative to hotel stay - Staying at a "guest house" was a new experience- private bedrooms, but shared bathrooms, kitchen & living area. Home-y to have cupboards full of needed utensils, system to label your personal food items by room#; pleasant decor, back deck to sit & sip morning tea. Extra bonus of meeting new people & having conversations with other residents/guests in the common area.
- Rev. Dr. David (6/5): - the price was quite reasonable. The room was very hot with no way to cool it down. The property was unkempt--the grass had not been cut and it looked uncared for, and the back deck looked to be in poor repair. The parking was odd--with a two car driveway marked off for three cars. The only way for our vehicle to get there was to drive over the sidewalk.

- Peter (8/5): - Nice and quiet but I had an issue with tv and bathroom. While there was cable tv verity a gazzilion stations I could only view about 10 with the rest needing a subscription. Of those 10, there were none current except some news stations. My only choices were 30 year old reruns. As far as the bathroom, my issue was with how it was left. On the second day I went in for a shower and the entire counter was covered in water. The same thing happened the next day. I see there were very specific rules for the kitchen but nothing for the bathroom. Just a suggestion, on the third floor common area it would have been real nice to have a small coffee table to put my meal and drink on instead of the floor or couch. I noticed the info sheet said there were containers for everyone’s food in the fridge but the first time I opened the fridge it was full with no containers so I had to use the basement fridge then truck back to the third floor. I certainly got a good workout but that is not what I was paying for. Another idea would be to have Kleenex in the bathrooms. Much nicer than blowing my nose in the sink and having to clean that up. Maybe that’s why the counter was covered in water. Nice concept but it needs refining.

- Publicservant (6/5): - It wasn't clear from the marketing material that this is actually a suburban house with locks on the bedroom doors, and shared kitchen. It is a good 10 minute drive from downtown, so not at all walkable. While the owner was very responsive, and the property was clean, just be aware of the location and style of accommodation. Luckily no one else was there while l was staying, but it would be awkward for people who don't know each other to be there at the same time. The doors are thin (it is a family home, not designed for hotel-type accommodation with noise-proofing and privacy) so it would be very important to be quiet and even regular sounds would carry.

Last but not least the king size bed is really just two single beds pushed together so if you're not careful both beds will spread apart on you and have the mattress sinking in the middle. Overall a place was clean mostly quiet but dark because we were in the basement of the home that's the only place that you can use that is not shared with other tenants. For $540 i expected a little more from boardwalk homes.
- Levi (10/5): Help did come - It all started on a wrong foot. I didn’t know we would be sharing a house with other guests. After a phone call things were easy straightened out. We were than moved to a private house just for our group.
- Bryan (2/5): Not what you're expecting - With this reservation you are getting a room in a house. No amenities. You are expected to clean up after yourself and share a bathroom. Not all this information was disclosed when booking, but if you try to cancel your booking there's an automatic penalty. I couldn't make it work at all, the room was too small and you have to wait in line to use the washroom. I stayed only the one night, but they charged me for three. There were stains on the bed sheets. Basically, a horrible experience, I checked out early and went to the Best Western instead, Like I said they still charged me for three nights instead of one. Now I have to fight with them to get my money back. The walls are paper thin, you can hear everything in the adjacent rooms.
- Connie (8/5): Clean, comfortable and responsible - I have been here at least three or four times now and I always find it clean and pleasant. There are comfortable areas for lounging and kitchen facilities for light cooking. It's possible to engage with other guests but it's not necessary. I have found the staff with whom I communicate pleasant and responsible. There was an issue last time, a mess left by a guest. But when I send an email notifying the staff, it was quickly resolved. I very much appreciated the quick attention they gave to the matter.
- Debbie (6/5): Ok - I didn’t realize it was shared accommodation, including bathroom until after I booked. It was ok, but I had a very hard time with the front door of the house, both getting in and getting out! It was very hard to figure out how to unlock and open, even with the directions!
- H (10/5): Great experience, would definitely stay again. - We stayed in a one bedroom unit, it was private and well appointed. The decorating was really nice, the bed was very comfortable and unit had all the comforts of home, washer/dryer etc, which is a bonus during long stays and/or with children! I was very impressed and would highly recommend.
- Paul (8/5): Right place, wrong room - The overall facility is great, thoroughly clean and modern. There were a couple of glitches about my room. The room was quite small and in order to have a double bed in it, one side of the bed was gainst the wall. If the person on the wall side had to get up in the middle of the night, it would involve crawling over a spouse. I think the particular room we had would be better offered as a single room. The second concern is the difficulty in finding power plugs. I had to move a rather heavy dresser away from the wall in order to plug in my phone. In the day of phones, tables and laptops that need power, the lack of conveniently located plugs is a problem. We were on the top floor of three. There's a nice TV room there that can be shared by the two rooms on that level. The main level has spacious kitchen and dining room space.
