Guest Reviews

- Giovanelli (8/5): Soggiorno molto piacevole, ci ritornerei.
- Andreas (6/5): place to stay for hiking trips, but dont expect too much - good Hotel in El Chalten, not on the main street 4 star rating of the Hotel is vastly overrated and prices per night are too high for the quality and services provided - room furniture is very simple, bathroom the same - staff is very friendly, breakfast is simple but ok

- Mylene (8/5): Fine - It’s cute Expensive
- Stuart (9/5): Very convenient and comfortable place to say. Reception/staff were very helpful - Plenty of open space/room at the property. B'fast was simple but perfect for our needs. Teriffic location for the main restaurants and also easy access to the various hiking tracks
- Andrea (8/5): -
- Niccolò (6/5): This hotel should cost 40 euros per night to be good value for money -
- George (9/5): A very well located hotel for an outdoor adventure holiday - The staff and location support this accommodation. Everyone who worked there was super friendly and you could access all of the nature walks/treks and bars and restaurants with ease.
- Mike (10/5): We found the hotel very comfortable for a hiker’s destination. - It was modern and clean. Location was great. Too hot and toilet seats were not secure.
- Mike (10/5): This was a great hotel for hiker’s and the staff was very friendly. - It was recently built and well located. Rooms were hot and toilet seats weren’t secure.
- YUMA (3/5): -
- SUSANA (7/5): - Amabilidad del personal, ubicación Instalaciones podrían mejorar
- Elena (4/5): - Location was great. Good breakfast. Not sure it’s worth the price. It was filthy. Trash on the floor behind the door, visible dirt on surfaces, the shower stall hasn’t been cleaned in a while, stained blanket.
- carlos (8/5): -
- Hans (7/5): Delightful staff! - Plain breakfast. Hot eggs would be nice No daily cleaning. Loud rooms. Not enough electrical outlets. Do not flush TP.
- Zoe (8/5): - Good value for money - clean and friendly staff
- Luca (9/5): -

Desayuno bueno. Habitación pequeña para 3 personas. Espacios comunes muy agradables. Personal maravilloso
- Mara (8/5): Lovely place with kind staff members, comfortable rooms and very nice common areas. - They accommodated my gluten allergy and provided delicious bread alternatives each day. The view from the second floor common area is exceptional! The location was great. Away from the main road but close to everything. I was in room 314. Just so you all know, when it rained, the water seemed to be leaking in through the window and down onto the ground. I meant to tell you all while I was there but forgot. So sorry!
- Jacqueline (8/5): Very good - Liked the quad room, cozy lounge. Staff were very kind and helpful. Let us use wine glasses fir the bottle we brought, Had to request additional toilet paper, couldn’t control heat, breakfast had a lot of variety, but lacked protein needed before big hikes,
- Andreia (10/5): - Fácil acesso, quarto limpo e arejado!
Recepcionista atenciosa!
- Tatiana (10/5): - The staff is here is absolutely wonderful. They were very helpful and accommodating to all of our requests. Everything was nice and clean. The beds weren’t the most comfortable but for what you pay and for the location, it didn’t matter as much. It was a great place to sleep after long hiking days.
- Miya (10/5): - You have a nice view of the mountains. The breakfast is very good. There are many options including chopped eggs, meat, cheese, cereal, toast, loaf cake, fruit, and tea&coffee.
The people at reception are really nice and can help you with anything you need. And the place is clean with common lounge areas. I recommend staying here.
- Philip (10/5): Exceptional -
- Philip (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional -
- Erika (10/5): - Were very kind and helpful when I had to abruptly find lodging after leaving a bed bug filled place around midnight
- Dominik (8/5): - Wifi not available in the rooms and very poor in the lobby.
- Charles (8/5): Simple and basic but clean. - Hostería El Paraiso has a convenient location in El Chalten, and its staff were friendly. Our room was simple and basic, but clean. The bath offered reliable hot water for after-hike showers. At night the noise from the lobby filtered to our room. Breakfast offered toast, ham, cheese, vegetables, fresh fruit salad and beverages. We could easily walk to local restaurants as well as to hiking trails from the hotel. The room seemed a bit overpriced, but maybe that’s to be expected in high season in this small trekking hub. WiFi, only available in the hotel lobby, was very slow.
- Dwight (6/5): - Room and breakfast fine, but no usable internet even in the common room
- Berklee (9/5): Superb -
- Ruben (6/5): - Great location, very walkable to the start of many hiking trails, supermarkets, food, etc.. Beds were Ok, but the pillows were really uncomfortable and no additional pillows were provided despite requests. We had an issue with the hot water in our shower from day 1 (had to shower with cold water) and the staff were helpful in providing alternatives (for day 2 - shower in the common area bathroom) and ultimately changing rooms (on day 3). Overall, an ok stay in a wonderful town.
- Sau Lin (10/5): - Very clean and the staffs are very nice
- Ken (8/5): Very good - Good included breakfast and the 24 hour reception was great with the staff able to offer recommendations for things to do nearby. The room was a little tight for the four of us.
- Irina (8/5): Very good - Clean room I booked the place as I have seen in the pictures that they have a bath tub. I was disappointed to find out it’s not usable and you can only take a shower
- Sivaprakash (9/5): Superb -
- Mirador_10 (4/5): Not worth the price, not even close. - Seems like a hostel turned into a makeshift hotel all of a sudden.
The rooms are old and so is the linen and the beds. There’s not much else in there, except for dust and crumbs on the floor.
The fact that my room had a nice view of a dumpster did not help. Could not open the window due to smell and flies.
Definitely not worth almost 200 dollars per night.
- Rapan (10/5): - The place was nice and clean. The bed was comfortable. The extra bed for our child was great.
- Nicole (6/5): - The internet service was pretty horrible. So it was difficult to get work done.
- Josie (9/5): Superb -
- Loman (9/5): Superb -
- thuy (8/5): - Room was clean but no wifi inside the room.
- Aoife (6/5): Pleasant -
- Olga (10/5): Very nice stay, good conditions and beautiful view. - Perfect various breakfast, nice and helpful staff. No wifii in the room.
- RODRIGO (10/5): - .
- Lorenzo (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ana (9/5): Nice hotel with friendly staff - The hotel was nice, staff was extremely friendly and service oriented, Martin and Nicolas were great Permanent huge noise of people walking on wood frame stairs next to the room on the first floor
- Travelwim (8/5): Comfortable stay - Good stay, clean and reasonably central in town. Inside of hetel a little dated but still good & well maintained.
Room size and bathroom were good.
No wifi in room -only in public areas.
Staff is efficient but I have seen friendlier. No complaints, though.
- P2176TOneilw (10/5): Comfort in El Chalten - Very nice hotel in the hiking capital of Patagonia. Comfortable, clean accommodations, breakfast included, laundry service available, wi-fi. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially Martin and Nicolas. Close to downtown, but quiet and peaceful. Coffee shop next door and great restaurant just down the street. Perfect base for your hiking in El Chalten area.
- Rob (6/5): Too expensive for what is on offer - Excellent location and incredibly helpful staff. The plumbing was obviously ancient: it was very noisy anytime a neighbour or the room above showered or even just used their taps! Unfortunately it also has probably the worst wifi in the world and it’s been set up so it doesn’t work in the bedrooms! El Chaltén is an expensive place to stay - food/cafe/shops/restaurants are all very very pricey so we expect to pay more the accommodation. The price of Hosteria Paraiso was, unfortunately, nowhere near good value for money - despite the excellent staff.
- Izak (3/5): Bad - Noisy
Kitchen did not smell good
Leaking bathroom basin
Bad quality bedding
- Olivia (9/5): Welcoming and accommodating to have the best El Chalten experience - The staff were super friendly and helpful, providing tips and advice and going above and beyond to make our stay successful. It was well located for access to shops, cafes and restaurants, as well as access to the activities and hikes on the edge of town. It could be a bit noisy from other people walking down the corridor. The wifi is only available in the reception area, and is patchy when many people are using it at once.
- Miranda (10/5): - Good location, great breakfast selections, internet is slow but that’s the problem of the whole area.
- Bryony (7/5): Very helpful staff - Lovely staff, good location, good value, comfy beds Wi-Fi didn’t work in the rooms, only in the lobby and our room wasn’t cleaned during our two night stay.
- Mateo (8/5): Very good -
- C1844SDnancyr (8/5): Comfortable stag with an amazing view - We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in lucky #13. The view of Mt Fitz Roy was exceptional the room was very quiet at the end of the hall even though we had 100 km winds the first night. The wifi is good in the communal area but not in the room the showers were hot and room was very clean. The breakfast was good and plentiful. The location is close to everything within walking distance. Great stay
- Laura (10/5): - Great breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, lovely spacious room with a nice view. The wifi wasn’t great, but it’s not great in most of El Chaltén.
- Asiyeh (4/5): - You don’t get what you pay. This hotel doesn’t worth to pay $ 200 per night . It is not very clean . It is outdated hotel.
- Ligia (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kittyrodwell (7/5): Nice but expensive - Good location close by to the walking trails and Main Street, wonderful staff. Good lunch options for hiking days. Nice view if it isn’t cloudy. Very expensive in comparison to other locations and what they offer (basic room, small common area). Wifi isn’t great if you need to work. Room got too hot - no way to control radiator temperature
- Yin (9/5): Superb - Friendly and helpful staff. Great location.
- Ieva (10/5): - Beautiful place, staff is super!!!
- Geoffrey (8/5): Very good - Extremely comfortable and well provided. Staff were helpful and friendly. Nothing specific.
- Ali (2/5): - I am giving the property a one star review hoping the owners who may care about their business read it. The front desk staff (Sylvia) who checked us in was rude and short. The room itself and the bed sheets were clean, but there NO bath towel in the room, and the only “bath floor mat” was already soaking wet! I went outside and asked for towels and said the bath floor mat was wet, she said: I need to see it? I said see what? She said the wet towel and that there is no towel in the room. I explained my wife has just stepped in the shower, so you can’t go in… she insisted she needed to come in and see it!! she walked with me to the room, and I went in to get the disgustingly wet mat to show it to her; then she said: “but your wife is now in the shower”, implying the mat got wet because she has splashed water on it. My eyes was jumping out of sockets trying to understand why would she think I may lie!! So I asked her, “what reason do I have to lie about a wet mat?”, she said, “it’s okay… I am working” implying she is too busy and don’t have time to continue the conversation. She did finally give me fresh towels and bath floor mat.
The Wi-Fi was also non-existent! We stayed at room 4, and the wifi network they said we need to connect to never showed up in the network list. When asking about a resolution, she said “El Chalten WiFi internet is bad every where and you need to be patient!!”
A very disappointing stay, I do not recommend it unless they make changes!
- Francis (10/5): - Very convenient for both the bus station and the various trailheads. Close to restaurants and cafes. Good spread for breakfast.
- Catherine (10/5): - Front desk was very welcoming and nice . Enjoyed the breakfast as well
- Aaron (8/5): Too expensive - Enjoyed the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice.
However the hotel was very expensive and our WiFi didn’t work in the room. There was also no option to turn the radiator off and so the room was uncomfortable during the night because it was too hot. I don’t think the hotel is worth £70 a night!
- 982SarahB982 (10/5): One night in El Chalten - Cute hotel in El Chalten. Everything is walking distance including most hiking trails. We rented a car and drove from El Calafate. There’s plenty of parking. Breakfast was the typical Argentinian continental with good coffee. Service was good. Rooms were clean. Would recommend and hope to stay again!
- Nopphon (10/5): Exceptional - 1. Staffs (Franco & Camille) are so friendly, kind, and very helpful). They are really keen to help you for everything.
2. Cleanliness is so good especially the bathroom (but on the bed are fair; some hairs remaining on pillows, but it was acceptable)
3. Breakfast is also good.
4. Location is quite on the middle of El Chalten.
We're very recommended to you all to stay here. We're very happy staying here. I would like one more bin in bedroom but it's not that significant;-)
- Edward (8/5): Very good - Breakfast excellent
- Angel (8/5): Great place, nice common spaces - Great place, breakfast could be a little more varied Lack of internet in the rooms
- Kirstin (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent staff, comfortable rooms, nice hot showers and relaxing lounge area to watch the mountains. Added an extra night and staff were able to keep us in the same room. Wifi slow in the evenings like it is everywhere in El Chalten.
- Omer (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leonardo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brad (8/5): Very good -
- Dulyawat (8/5): - Things they can improve on are the weak WiFi strength. It is not usable from your room; has to be in common area only. Also, the breakfast options are kind of limited.
- Zeitler (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adriana (10/5): Great place to stay, clean, friendly staff and best shower ever! - Best hot shower. After a day of hiking coming back to the hotel and being able to take a hot shower was the best No wifi in the rooms
- Laura (7/5): Good price and location - Good location El Chalten is very small so you can’t really go wrong. Packed lunches made to order, ok breakfast for the price. Only wifi in hotel reception not in rooms. Basic hostel vibe but perfectly fine for the price (our room had private bathroom but there was a shared one downstairs so more of a hostel). Heating in room was very hot and couldn’t be turned down as central heating for whole building. It wasn’t possible to sleep with window open as too windy!
- Marco (6/5): Pleasant - The breakfast needs to be improved. No proteins, only sugar (candy’s, cakes and bread. No fruits, no eggs).
- ILIAS (2/5): - We informed the owner about an issue to reach the property
Instead they charged us as non show
Congrats to Expedia
- Lucy (7/5): Good -
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location. Friendly staff. Had corner room so had view of rooftops.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The staff was friendly. Breakfast was ok, only sliced bread and ham and cheese, with a couple cakes. Rooms were simple, no television but all you need if you’re in town for the hikes. Didn’t like that they charged me more than I had agreed to pay with Expedia. Buyer beware that they exchange to pesos as if they were selling you dollars which is a worse rate than the official, so if you’re paying with card or pesos, it’s going to be higher than you’re agreed upon dollar value. I will contact Expedia separately to sort that out but didn’t think it was fair of the hotel. Location is ok, about 7 minutes walk from bus station and about 1km from start it treks.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room was as small as a queen bed. Tiles on floor looked filthy.
