- KHENG HWA (6/5): - The property is huge but looked aged at certain areas. Only 2 restaurants which did not have great menus. Gym was spacious but staffs failed to keep equipment cleaned. It is a resort style hotel with nice lake views and gardens for walking. I stayed over a weekend when the hotel was filled with local family patrons ... hotel did not have sufficient staffs to deal with the crowded chaos.
- Paul (8/5): Still a family favourite - This is our fifth visit to the Hilton, which has outdoor pools and extensive lakefront gardens. We have been growing disappointed with the Hotel in the past two years as the pool area and grounds have become less maintained. However, it was great to see that some of the paths and one of the main outdoor pools are being renovated for the summer season. - The Executive Lounge provides a good range of drinks and snacks from lunchtime, and the happy hour buffet dinner with wines and spirits is good. - Staff are always attentive and helpful, which is appreciated. - The hotel grounds are well-kept - Plenty of activities for younger children - It was a reasonably good breakfast, but... - Many staff members speak English, which is appreciated. The hotel was quiet. (Beware of Chinese National Holidays; the hotel is full and incredibly busy and noisy!) The outdoor buffet effectively cuts off the lake shore path, which is inconvenient. The outdoor cafe on the south side also blocks off the lakeshore. - Restaurant/bar meals and outdoor buffets are costly - The Executive lounge is closed in the mornings - Breakfast offerings are very variable; there used to be some good Western offerings; however, this has become far more Chinese and less international, which is a shame
- Joshua (10/5): Good hotel, might book again - Hotel was magnificent, but the rooms were really spread out and it takes a long while to walk to the assigned room. Breakfast buffet was also really expensive with little variety.

There were so many people around,we had to queue up for dinner at the only one restaurant available as the other restaurant was only offering buffet. Breakfast time was chaos and unorganised. The waiters were kind of on our back waiting for us to finish our food so that he can clean away our plates. However,upon kind request the chef accepted to prepare some vegetarian fried rice for our family. Lunch options were limited to only 2 dishes on the menu. To sum up, it was not worth the price and very chaotic and unpleasant especially with a toddler. - The room itself was very dim lighted with old furnitures and very dusty. No handrails in the bathroom and toilet for safety. Everything was kind of basic. Not even one label of Hilton Hotels on the bedsheets, pillows,bathrobes,toothbrushes. The tissue papers available were very rough as were the mediocre toothbrush and toothpaste available. It was kind of a disappointment to my family and I. No value for money. The rastaurant food was expensive and offered limited choices of western food.

Breakfasts used to have a good range of western style food, but limited now. Outside areas in need of maintenance with tripping hazards, barbed wire, and a tired looking pool area. In hotel food purchase overpriced. Extensive gardens are great, but there is limited lake access due to big hotel bbq and coffee venue. Lake side location and countryside feel only 15km from the centre is welcoming. Staff are very friendly and helpful which is the best part of the hotel

- ThijmenPille (10/5): Nice Hotel with Wonderful Staff - After spending two months at this property, I think I am in the position to write a well informed review about the hotel. Overall, it is a really nice hotel with all the amenities you would need. The hotel is really spacious, at times there were not many guests and it almost felt empty. The gym has all the equipment you would need, and is generally empty. I especially liked the Executive Lounge. Unlike some other hotels, they really change the menu every week, so you are not eating the same dishes every day/week. This is something I highly valued as I was staying for over two months. The food is also of good quality. I was picked up at the airport by a driver from the hotel, who I communicated over WeChat with beforehand. At checkin, the staff made me feel a bit rushed, and I felt like the employee really wanted to be done with me as fast as he possibly could. But it was not busy at all. But it was no big deal for me, as I got checked in quickly without issues. The rooms are clean, and the lady that cleaned my room on most days is the sweetest lady there is, always with a big smile on her face. She did a great job as well. Internet reliability in the rooms could be improved, although it seemed to get better after a few weeks. I really liked the breakfast, there was plenty of choice, but for my taste there could be a few more European options as well. But since we are in Asia, I understand to not expect the highest standard here. I had yoghurt almost every day, with some fresh fruits. They not only had the cheap fruits available, but also blueberries and strawberries in the yoghurt, which I really liked. I want to give a special thanks to Sharon Zhang from the Executive lounge, as well as the other employees from the lounge. Sharon really went above and beyond, and helped me a lot with settings up the Chinese apps or communication with Chinese native speakers on times I needed it the most. She really did the extra step. Also I want to thanks the Sales manager Sharon, who I communicated with clearly and always responded to my messages immediately. Also it was nice of her to invite me and my colleagues to dinner, which we happily accepted. Overall, I recommend staying here. There are only a few things that can be improved. The airconditioning seems to not go lower than around 22C, even if you set it lower. They checked, and the AC is working, but it seems the temperature setting is capped on a property scale so to say. Later in November, I opened the doors to the balcony so it was no issue, but in beginning of October it was a bit too hot for me at night. However, when I informed the hotel staff, duty manager Kity upgraded me to a suite for the first month (!) of my stay, which I really appreciated. Like I mentioned, the reliability of the Wi-Fi could be improved. Overall, I hope to come back to this nice property! The staff made my stay very wonderful.

- T6342MZalexanderm (10/5): A kind of family for me - I was a business guest in this great hotel for two months this fall. Due to the current global crisis caused by Covid19, I was very pleasantly surprised by the city. I was recommended the Hilton Optics valley by other colleagues and I was not disappointed. The hotel is located a little away from the major metropolitan areas of this huge city, but you have a lot of green and quiet. It is about 45 minutes by cab to the Yellow Crane Tower and about 35 minutes to the high-tech companies in Optics Valley. (Huawei, Xiaomi, YMTC) The hotel offers a large fitness center with pool and sauna and three different restaurants. For those who like traditional Chinese cuisine, there are several small restaurants or kitchens in the area (10min). The hotel is huge and offers a lot of space, also the rooms are very spacious. For me, however, the staff was the highlight. All were very friendly and helpful and offer a service that is far above the usual standard of other hotels. It starts with the cleaning staff, who sometimes put an extra drying rack to hang his sports stuff on the balcony. It continues with the staff in the restaurants, which were always friendly and despite the masks always had a smile around the eyes. Dorothy. Duke the Key-master also helped me buy a second cell phone. He got me an appointment with China mobile and helped me with the translation and later with setting up the health app. (Duke, you are great) When the hotel realized that I needed a cab to get to my clients every day, they offered me a ride for the price of a regular cab. This meant that I could book the rides directly onto the hotel bill and was spared having to negotiate with the cab drivers. The hotel was also a great help for the Covid19 test. They got me an appointment and also drove me to the test and helped me with the procedure. Anytime again and keep up the good work. I have never had such a great service. Thank you all
- housty09 (10/5): Christmas Vacay - We had a wonderful stay at the Hilton over Christmas 2020. A group of us checked in on Christmas Day for 1 night and to enjoy the Christmas Day dinner buffet that evening. Victoria was our point of contact at the hotel. She was amazing. She ensured everything ran smoothly from check in, to table reservations for Christmas dinner, to opening the Italian restaurant early for us to have dinner on Boxing Day before we left the hotel. Even if the resort starts to age a little bit, the service and overall value is very good. The cleanliness is overall good. It is nice to have this hotel in wuhan. It is a nice gateway for the week ends. Cucina restaurant offers good pizza and very good beef! We like to go there in the week-ends! If you are in Wuhan in hot months, go there to enjoy the pool and the resort atmosphere!

- Wolf_W (10/5): Great Experience - I recently visited Wuhan and stayed at the Hilton Wuhan Optics City. The service provided by the team was excellent, in particular Mr Michael Liu did everything he could do to make the stay as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. If Hilton needs a benchmark for excellent customer service, you don't need to look any further than this hotel. Location is outside the city center, but nicely surrounded by a lake with walking paths. It was rainy and cold the day I stayed there, so I did not go running outside as usual, but it must be nice doing that there. Rooms are clean, very comfortable and spacious, the bathtub in my room even had a small rubber duck there. Made my day in the morning after the workout. Gym is well equipped. Breakfast at the restaurant features a wide variety of Western and Chinese dishes, all well prepared and tasty.

Facilities : Top notch and world class in simple terms Huge property with basically all the basic amenities to extra physical activities from tennis to basketball to table tennis .You can refresh yourself with sauna and ste bath facilities available in the property .Rooms are spacious , with alla the required basic amenities .Restaurants are really good with some good quality food and some mouthwatering delicacies . One negative i can think of is that the property is bit far from the city and shopping areas , but for the resort faculties they have here , it's justifiable and hotel provides free shuttle bus to the city centre to compensate for that . Service Quality : 5 star service from the guys around here .I have never seen a staff without a smile on their face . Everyone does try their best to speak to whatsoever the english they knows , they do understand our needs quite easily and try to resolve or help us in the best way possible .Front desk to concierge to restaurant waiters to chefs are really wonderful. I would like to mention some guys personally whom you can approach if any help needed if you are going to stay here ..Look for Jarvie and Brian from Concierge desk , Jeff, from sales I think ...Ben, Vicky and Alisa From Chinachops Breakfast ...These guys and really approachable and highly recommended ...Thank you bros .. - Schoon01 (8/5): More a resort than a hotel - I had a great stay at this hotel which looks more like a resort. It is a large hotel with two large outside pools (one was closed). There is also a nice outside area for walking but most of the time it was too hot to stay outside for too long during my stay. The room was very good, with good bed, good AC and very quiet at night. I was glad that the room was cool enough. The service was good and the concierge was also ready to help or provide information about the surrounding area. However during check-in they forgot to mention the company benefits, like free lounge access. I found out only a couple of days later. The gym inside the hotel was good, I made use of it a couple of times. I didn't make use of the indoor-pool because I had to buy a swimming cap. They should lend those free of charge. Breakfast was very good but sometimes rather crowded. Once I had diner inside the hotel which was good but very expensive.
- Brodge13 (10/5): First time to China. - This was my first trip to China. I will say that Wuhan during the summer months is a bit warm. The Hotel's AC however was amazing. The Hotel is a neat place. A lot to do, great views, and the food is pretty good. The reason I will return to this Hotel however is because of their staff. With having to figure out little things to make it through China, their Hotel staff was amazing. Especially one of the staff. Michael Liu. Michael, you are the reason I will choose this Hotel again if I am ever headed back for business. Thank you Michael.

The customized breakfast set with special local noodles and rice soup was amazing. Compare to the all-day restaurant I like the lounge more. Strongly recommend those who with lounge access to visit for breakfast. Definitely won’t regret it!

It’s located in an isolated area but the hotel has everything you need for a comfortable vacation or a weekend getaway. They have great buffet breakfast, several good restaurant, indoor and outdoor swimming pool, ping pong, golf simulator and several other indoor activities, which is great for summer. The staff are all well trained. They’re very polite and always happy to help. We had a great time there and will certainly come back!

- Sangeeta (8/5): Great hotel facilities but extremely poor service - My friends and I loved the property despite being very far from any shopping or food district. The hotel is brand new and the rooms were excellent. The hotel is in front of a lake and therefore it very picturesque and peaceful We rented bikes from the hotel and rode along the lake. The breakfast buffet is excellent. We came to the hotel one night really hungry and we tried to order food from the 24 hour room service menu and it turns out that 5 of the dishes ( cklub sanwhcih and burger and 2 Asian dishes and dark chocolate mousse ) I wanted weren't there. When I asked the reason the junior staff said its sold out. I then asked for the manager who then told me taht the hotel is fully booked and therefore they are out of food. I was suprised at the fact that a five star hotel for which we pay top dollar for their services is unable to provide basic room service. Upon yelling I got what I wanted. My friends didnt get what they wanted too and they settled for pasta and noodles which they didnt want to eat. The following day my friend refused to pay for the food and the hotel manager knowing its completely the hotels fault didnt at first make any acknowledgement but again stated that the hotel is fully booked and they are ran out of ingredients. Finally after 20 mins of arguing they deducted the cost of the orange juice plus its service tax. This made the stay so unpleasant.

- JING (8/5): nice place suitable to spend a weekend - 每天在城市里工作、生活，人会变得灰蒙蒙的，忘记如何去呼吸。在hotels的好福利诱惑下，毅然决定就Hilton了，谁说开房一定要去外地啦~~啦啦啦~~~ 很开心，希尔顿给了我们美好的回忆。 这里有点远，但是有大片绿草地，额不过也有蚊子兄时不时来骚扰 这里有点远，但是每间房都有阳台，额就是园景的布置、和湖景的呼应应该还可以更好 这里有点远，所以你可以尽情专注这里的美食，额最好订房时选择含早餐的，否则去那现付就要170 per one 这里有点远，适合晚上与心爱的人漫步在月光下，房间有伞，下雨也不怕 这里有点远，怕大家没得玩，所以有个还比较丰富的健身中心，额不过棋牌室确实有点太多了，另外收费的项目也不少，这里这么大，自行车竟然还要收费 这里有点远，还有不少上升的空间，卧室是没有吐司机的，润肤乳是放在床头的（我就一不小心没有找到），路标不是那么明显的……，但是服务好，酒店工作人员都很nice，我想这是最重要的。

- Bo (2/5): ABSOLUTELY TRAP, I feel regretted to stay.... - ABSOLUTELY WRONG location shown in hotels.com map view. In the map it's close to Donghu (East lake), and you just even walk 2 miles to Wuhan University. But its true location is close to Yanxi lake, tens of miles away from the urban area. "Located in Wuhan (Hongshan), Hilton Wuhan Optics Valley is a family-friendly hotel close to Wuhan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Huazhong Normal University." If you think 20 miles rural road without any public transportation is 'close to', I can only say 'good luck, guys!'. Very bad management with untrained people working here. Given such bad location, you feel ripped off by them. If you want a taxi, you need to pay extra since no taxi driver would come here. Lazy working staff is late at arranging the breakfast. They claim the breakfast starting from 6AM, but until 7AM I still found them 'busy' setting up the cold food just from the kitchen refrigerator. They claim the GYM is 24 hours. However, they are so creepy to save electricity bills by turning hall lights off... I would fall off the stairs given no any light. Be careful, boys! And their shuttle bus sounds nice, you would regret after you get aboard. It's like a junk car with all engine lights on, the windows can't be closed. You can imagine what I felt during this winter trip... Actually I found out the shuttle is indeed for their housekeeping maids since the hotel location is so far away from the public transportation...
- enjoy (8/5): A lovely hotel.... a long way from anywhere - Beware of the location this hotel is a long way out of Wuhan. Taxis dont even know where it is. It is a lovely hotel though, very quiet (nothing else anywhere near it) and being only 6 months old is in fantastic condition. Our room booking for two adults covered breakfast but the staff seemed to think that it only covered one breakfast and wanted us to pay for the other....eventually they relented. I recommend buying breakfast with your room as there is nothing else anywhere near it.
