Guest Reviews
- ASHWIN (2/5): They'd gone out of business, days before ! - This hotel is closed!!! Out of business!!!!!
You should update your website. I was lucky that a person on the street directed me to this nearby hotel...
I feel I deserve a refund for my frustration, even though the management accommodated me in another hotel that they have nearby.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great first visit to KL! - The experience was amazing, close to train station and easy to get around.. no airport shuttle service but they do have cars you can take to the airport for very low price!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent value hotel located - Good hotel in the perfect location in the heart bukit bintang room was clean and comfortable
- Verified traveler (10/5): Clean n tidy - 5 minutes walk from everything you want to do in bukit bintang. Great location..
- Verified traveler (10/5): Convenient - Check-in was relatively fast. Got a spacious corner room.Sadly the aircond in this room wasn't cooling properly. Called reception and they immediately switched us to another room which was slightly smaller but reasonably spacious. Had a good night's sleep after that.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good hotel in great location - Good hotel with amazing location. Friendly staff and good room service
- Kean Yueh (2/5): Terrible and worse hotel - Terrible hotel that I have ever stay before.
- Receptionist took me 30 mins on check in progress where there is no others in the lobby.
- they given me first room where I only discovered their aircond was spoiled and I requested change another room
- changing room progress took me another 25~30mins
- second room given, aircond was function but the bed was dirty with black spot on it. totally not hygiene at all. The TV has a very bad signal which they put blame on the TV contractor and TV connector was loosen where you need to push it back else your TV will not function.
- Towel provided was stained with dirt which is total not acceptable ( I would rather they don't provide towel in the room instead of making me more frustrated)
- HOTEL.com should put some responsibility on showing the rating in search page which I think this deserved 1.0 points.
-HOTEL.com should also filter those bad hotel after so many negative feedback about this hotel.
- SA (4/5): Stairs needs to be cleaned - The stairs seems like it has never been cleaned. Use a vacuume cleaner to clean the carpet on stairs.
Shower knob is too small. No hot water. Heater wasn't working.
- Verified traveler (2/5): VERY VERY VERY BAD HOTEL!!!! - Very very very dirty hotel. Not worth it as what i paid. Very good location for eat and shop BUT a lot of prostitution surrounding there!!!
- Amz (2/5): Read this first! DON'T STAY HERE! - I'm going to keep this short and snappy as I can go on for a while!
The ONLY thing good about this hotel was its prime location near many restaurants and shopping centres.
I stayed in room 102.
Requested a room with a window. Got a room with NO window.
The bed sheet and duvet cover were not washed. They were sprayed with fabric freshener and the bed sheets was full of sweat stains. Part of the duvet cover was chewed by some rodent.
Floor is an absolute filth. Don't walk bare foot. Shower was okay but water was not hot enough. Tap and Sink were filthy and was obviously not cleaned before we checked in.
No housekeeping during my 10 nights stay. We had to ask for new towels and loo roll etc which we then had to collect from reception. Used towels were then piled up in the room. As there was no housekeeping the trash bin in the room was overfilled.
Breakfast is served in another hotel about 100m down the road and the only thing they serve is Indian Poratha and Omelette, EVERYDAY. We only had breakfast twice. Breakfast starts at 9:30am by which time my tours already started so was unable to have breakfast on a few of the days.
The staff were okay.
There are rats in the ceiling. I don't know how big they are but I'm guessing they are huge as one fell on the ceiling and it made a loud thump as though someone fell over in the room above. I initially thought that until I heard the rats run and scrape it's claws at night. EWW!
You get what you paid for but this is not it!
- Sophie (2/5): Really dirty - Might want to consider another hotel - it's so dirty there, I mean filthy. Only good thing is the very nice guy at the reception.
- Bart (2/5): Will not come back there! - Ever present smell of cigarettes; Rooms and bathrooms are in desperate need of new paint, new furniture and carpet. No fridge inside, nor any other available. TV, aircon and water heater work somehow, but better you can find on nearest verge collection. Certainly don't expect any toiletries.
Pros I could find in a room: bed and sheets were ok; besides location is good
- ho (2/5): Horrible and terrible place - This is a terrible hotel, booked 4 nights for a family room. The room consists of 1 queen and 1 single bed, only can move side-way in-between. No table, has only a small stool, about 1 sq. foot, to be share with a family of 3. TV cannot received premium channels, complaints to front desk, no use, promise to fix, but never do. Air-con cannot be control, have to set at 16 degree C. Breakfast is bad as well, only 3 choices to choose from. Housekeeping is terrible too. No soundproof room, but its stated in web page, very noisy during the night. No coffee or tea in the common area, only a water dispenser. We decided to move out after 2 night stays at this terrible hotel. This place should not be call a hotel. I advise all fellow travelers, stay away from this hotel.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Terrible, dirty, unsafe - DO NOT STAY HERE!
Pictures of rooms and room descriptions are highly misleading. The most glaring example: room description said "overlooking the city", but I got a room with no window at all, though that was the least of my problems with this place:
- Pretty much everything in the tiny, windowless room was stained and dirty (floors, walls, bedding, etc.). Sheets and blankets seemed to have not been changed and washed in a very long time.
- Room smelled of cigarette smoke.
- The hotel is located in a red light district and felt very unsafe.
It goes without saying that this place does not deserve a rating of 4.0. The fact that 4- and 5-star-reviews that call this place clean, comfortable, or even luxurious (?!) tend to be posted in clusters on the same dates (e.g. Oct 16, Sep 21) should have made me suspicious, but unfortunately, I failed to notice that before booking.
- Garrett (2/5): Didn't have reservation, cigarette burns in sheets - We booked late at night and when we showed up the hotel said they didn't have our booking. They stated that the room we'd booked wasn't available and offered us to stay in a lower rate room for the price we booked at. Because it was late, we accepted, however when we got to the room it was abysmal: cigarette burns in the sheets, mold and mildew everywhere and very tiny. We left immediately and went to a hotel a block away.
- JEFF (2/5): Not a good choice - This is by far the nastiest place I have ever stayed. I am a budget traveler and have booked rooms for less than 5 usd that outclassed this place. The only good thing I can think of was getting to meet some really good people who were displaced and had to live there. It is a refugee camp/brothel the rooms don't lock the bathrooms don't drain, toilet paper is a commodity not available to guests. The only way this place could be any nastier is to acquire livestock!! I have never given a bad review before simply rated them as I saw them but this places review deserved a bit more attention. If your booked here try to cancel.
- Jeff (2/5): What a dump. - Noisy old dump. Cheap ain't always best. Firstly got issued a room that hadn't been cleaned since the last guests. So got "upgraded" to another crappy room. TV didn't work and no hot water. Especially got to hate the street band that played under our window every night. They were as bad as the hotel itself. Actually, to be fair, the staff were pleasant and the location is pretty good but there has to be better hotels than this one in the area. I suggest you look for them.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - not satisfied with the environment, room condition and price
- FARYAL (10/5): Great place in KL - The staff were great with my toddler, always helped with luggage/buggy and anything else as I came and went each day. The room was cleaned well every day - and staff were happy to assist me if I needed further instructions in the hotel. The location is good and you can always get a taxi from outside on a daily basis. The facilities are good -
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent but still needs to improve to make best - The room are well kept and the bathroom is beautiful. Friendly staffs and the hotel is strategically located at the heart of KL where everything is easily accessible by foot.
- Fausal (8/5): Good and peace room. Excellence - superb location, in the heart of bukit bintang. Very near to the main hot spot. room big enough, comfortable
- Rene (2/5): Worst hotel I've ever stayed in! Do not book - Prior to our stay at this hotel we had backpacked around India and Sri Lanka so were familiar with what budget accommodation should offer. However this hotel was way below the minimum standard. To start with check out took a very, very long time with an incompetent receptionist. We then went to the room we had been allocated which was supposed to be nonsmoking but stank of smoke. We asked to be moved and were allocated another nonsmoking room which also smelt of smoke but as it was not as bad as the other one we begrudgingly accepted it. When we asked why both non smoking room had ash trays in we were told that people like to smoke in their room so they just let them therefore I would guess that all rooms are smokey.
All hotel staff were unhelpful and rude, when we pointed out that we were unhappy this tended to be met with a smirk or smile rather than an apology. The hotel had groups of men hanging around the lobby area most of the time, it was really noisy with people coming and going at all hours with no sign of the sound proofing or the tea and coffee facilities advertised. The shower also did not work properly, the water just spluttered and trickled out of the shower head.
Breakfast was also awful, it is not served at this hotel but another one down the road. When we entered the restaurant the tables were still dirty from the night before and we were told that they had no coffee, no fruit and no butter for the toast, they didn't even have a butter knife!
- SYAQIRA (6/5): Good location, everything within walking distance - Overall not too bad although they MESSED UP with our room the first night and the air con was not working. The following 2 nights was better in terms of room condition. However, had to ask for the tv control. Can get a bit noisy at night. Location was good.
- Jia Zun (2/5): Cheap price! For obvious reason. - For this price, there is always better options nearby. Our room is dirty, noisy, stain on the pillow and towel, broken television remote, half working bathroom and smelly room.
If you want to get yourself frustrated for your trip, get this hotel!
- Bad experience for the stay in this hotel (2/5): The Worst Hotel In My Life - Very bad experience which is very dirty, uncomfortable, and the people walking around in the hotel without control their volumn the hold night. And also just the hotel outside, there is a local live band Singing outside every night. This will be my first and also the last to stay in this hotel.
- Pang (10/5): Very friendly staff. good location - Very helpful and friendly reception.
Near Bukit Bintang and Jalan Alor with many food and nightlife options.
- betsi (10/5): Great service, Great hotel - Location and friendly, professional staff. I had a late evening departure and facilities to shower and change were offered without asking.
- maria (10/5): Great location Great Price - Have stayed at ZODIAC HOTEL many times now. It is by far the best value for money hotel in Bukit Bintang area. 2 great location and rooms are exceptionally clean and spacious. Would recommend to anyone.
- BAHRI (10/5): Don't miss - I liked every thing location, stuff, style, beds so clean it's just a perfect.
- Pang (8/5): Affordable hotel near Bukit Bintang - Good location, friendly staff.
Skip the hotel breakfast, breakfast is served in their sister hotel down the road... Better off looking for local food off the streets.
- Calvin (4/5): Disappointing considering rating of 3.8 - It's apparently part of a cluster of 4 hotels & there's bad communication between staff: I can accept prehistoric methods of updating each other via email of current day's confirmed bookings but it seems mine wasn't captured for the hotel I'm staying at & staff needs to confirm with someone via phone regarding my booking, causing concerns that could've been avoided. Staff was not listening at all & made me repeat my name at least 5 X within 15 mins. Finally, he managed to confirm my bookings & asked me to sit & wait while he continued talking to staff taking over him how to settle my booking internally. God I reached at 9:45pm & was exhausted & still needed to wait for them to sort their internal issues out before settling my bookings?
Room was poorly maintained: bathroom door was rotting, droplets of dried paint was found in the room, card for aircon was missing, cable tv signal was atrocious.
Wifi was hopeless.
- WAKAR (10/5): Excellent hotel with friendly staff! The location - The staff were super-helpful and very friendly. The concierge arranged an excellent trip for me to Taman Negara. It has a beautiful infiniti lobby and eating place which was nice at the end of the day. Excellent location...couldn't be more central than that. Will stay there again for sure
- MIMI SANTIAGO (10/5): A lovely night at this hotel, I'd stuy next time - Location, the staffs are very friendly, The facilities are perfect. I'd love to stuy again at this hotel
- Deba (10/5): A Very Relaxing Stay - Although i had little time to enjoy the comfort of the bed, but it was heaven. beautiful room and view, center of every place you would want to go in KL. I will be doing my booking real soon again.
- filza (10/5): Good location n clean - The room very clean n comfort for me n family... nice environment.thanks for the services.
- luio (10/5): pleasant trip - The staff at the counter n lobby were very comfortable to deal with.
1. Location 20 mins walking to KLCC
2. Breakfast is good
3. very good tours with reasonable prices
4. very clean rooms
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent location to downtown shopping area - We stayed at the Zodiac Golden Place and enjoyed all the wonderful facilities offered. Check-in was good and overall staff experiences was excellent. The location was so close to all the major shopping centers like Pavilion and Berjaya Square-all within comfortable walking distance.
- Janny (10/5): Nice hotel, On main street - Beautiful hotel. From the entrance the staff is so kind, always ready to help you with any inquiry. We booked a standard room but they gave us a suite which was big and comfortable with fridge, big bathroom, Our experience was really good!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Best Budget Hotel On Bukit Bintang - Very nice rooms, great location and good reception. Great thing i liked the most is clean rooms , clean toilet and very fast WiFi. i was given upstairs room but the WiFi signal were excellent. I will come back here again.
- meor (2/5): - Waiting 40 for check in
3 times ask about breakfast. The answer is....wait we will confirm.. Wait..wait from check in, at night , at the morning...at last I not get my breakfast... I use extra money for time my breakfast. 1 room X 2 person x 2 room . that mean I and 3 others take own breakfast... Very poor service. And I also not get coupon for 10 night get 1 night free.
- omukil (10/5): Super hotel - The staff were able to assist with direction to places of interest and also provided option of how best to get to and from these places. We will be returning to KL in the future and would have Zodiac golden palace hotel as our preferred hotel. The hotel was modern and the hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful. Located 5mins to the major shopping district, its at main down town Bukit Bintang. Highly recommended.
- Amman (10/5): Very nice hotel - Very nice hotel in a very convenient place at main jalan bukit bintang, just across the road the Monorail that take you every where . As in Zodiac golden palace hotels the staff were extremely helpful and friendly , this is one of the main reason of choosing it , specially the reception staff make feel at home.
- Farnandas (10/5): Lovely place - Booked here late notice, very convenient for city, shopping & Jalan alon street food market.retro colonial style hotel with contemporary decor/layout of the room. Staff couldn't do enough anything we needed we only had to ask although the room is not massive bathroom was huge with all the necessary amenities required at a budget hotel rate. Well worth the money we will be staying here again. Very easy to locate just in-front of federal hotel.
- Ammar (10/5): Good Hotel, Clean Rooms & Wonderful Location - I stayed with my wife and found good hotel with excellent location with wonderful Wi-Fi and room service. Clean toilet and found everything new. Recommended. Hotel like this with a very low price. Good management.
- Faisal (10/5): Well appointed hotel in the heart of KL - Very friendly and helpful staff. Good location for us traveler, Excellent service from all staff. Spacious room with good en-suite. Good range of TV channels, about half in English.Exceeds my expectations,
- Lorna (2/5): Avoid this hotel at all costs! - I booked this hotel as it promised the following: A free airport shuttle (There was none. I booked it, never heard from them) It offers a few restaurants, (There were none) Smoke free rooms: I had cigarette smoke pouring into my room all night via a ventilator. The room had no window and the only air coming in was from the smoke filled corridor. It also promised housekeeping: The room was filthy, there was no soap or toilet paper, no tea/coffee. FITNESS CENTRE??? :) No Wifi connection Thumping noise from a live band till 2 am. And they told me they put me in the quietest room. Its basically a run down "love motel" in a red light district. As a woman travelling on my own I felt far from safe. Lots of shady looking dudes hanging around. After one night I naturally moved out. I booked and paid for 3 nights but they refused to refund me.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Terrible - Took me 20min to check-in, the water heater not functioning, smelly inside room.
- yao soon (10/5): Love the stay - Love the facilities so much! ❤️❤️ WiFi is pretty good. The location was really good. its just 8 minutes walking to the Berjaya Times Square and IMBI monorail station. Many chinese/arab/indian/malay restaurant and 7eleven nearby, and if you walk ahead, you can find the bbq food.
- muhammad (10/5): More then Excellent - Each & Everything. This time we stayed 1 night & must come back for longer stay. Great staff, highly recommend. excellent WiFi.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place to stay in KL - Lovely and clean with great facilities. I stay here when ever I'm in KL because of its location, efficient staff, and comfort .
