Guest Reviews
- Field (9/5): Lovely place - The staff were lovely, the food was excellent and the room was comfy. It's in a good location too, close to some lovely shops. Overall a great place to stay, eat and drink.
- Margaret (9/5): We had a short, comfortable stay in a quiet inn in lovely countryside. - Location in a quiet village, near Lanark was perfect for us, touring.
Advance advice made finding the inn and settling down very easy. Our room was comfortable and well equipped with teatray, toiletries etc. Very quiet too.
Breakfast was a real meal, served in a pleasant room. Staff were friendly and capable.
. Access is up a single, longish flight of stairs. Not so easy for the less agile or with heavy luggage. Probably help is available but we did not look for it. A small problem.
- Tony (5/5): Could be so much better with a little bit of input - Great central location Difficult to park
Very noisy location until the early hours
- Andrew (9/5): - Host welcoming, room clean and convenient for watching football and places to eat out Not a dislike, just a bit of a challenge to shave and wash in small sink

- Timothy (9/5): Great staff and perfect location. - Stayed one night for a family gathering. Perfect location and price. Comfortable bed and nice hot shower.
We reserved a table for food for 12 people. The steak pie was particularly delicious. It’s was fine.
- Greg (10/5): - Great location, friendly staff and customers. Good beer, good food and an excellent host.
- Rannigan (8/5): - Friendly staff, great location. Nothing
- Suzanne (7/5): - Our stay was good and the staff were very friendly helpful. It would have been good to be able to pay for parking the night before to cover early morning. A hand towel and bath mat would have been good.

- Al (8/5): -
- Anne (5/5): Good location value for money .. but would not class as deluxe room - Location .. easy parking Stayed 4 nights .. curtains ..not enough hooks ..let light in.. would have expected housekeeping for a deluxe room but good value for the cost..
- Alison (8/5): -
- Darren (8/5): Nice clean and comfortable stay, difficult/impossible to get a VAT receipt. - Clean and tidy rooms with neat bathrooms and a good shower. Can be a bit noisy due the pub noise. Impossible to get a VAT receipt, I've stayed and requested a VAT receipt ~ 10 times ... never received one.

- Paul (8/5): -
- Malcolm (8/5): Very pleased, although finding something to eat in Lutterworth on a Monday night apart from a couple - Left early so never tried the breakfast. Staff were all pleasant, locals also pleasant, pub and room warm and comfortable bed could have been a couple of inches longer, (I'm only 5ft 10). However it was still a comfortable sleep.

- Ryan (10/5): Perfect Stay - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The bar manager was incredibly welcoming, and the bar staff were really friendly and attentive. It created such a great atmosphere from the moment I walked in. I’ll definitely be returning - highly recommend! 🍸 I didn't find any issues with my stay.
- Julian (10/5): Very welcoming - Everything Nothing
- Jake (1/5): Wouldn't recommend - Bedroom and Bathroom had not been cleaned. Bed was dirty and sheets had not been changed.
- Nicole (10/5): Comfortable and accommodating, perfect place to stay. - The owner was very accommodating and the room absolutely perfect. We ate there and have to say the food was perfect and reasonably priced. Well worth every penny.
- Rhys (10/5): -
- Paul (7/5): - Room was great, the pub was really nice. food was disappointing
- Thomas (8/5): - Everything was brilliant had a fantastic weekend None
- Michael (8/5): - Comfy bed and help from staff. Good choice of places to eat nearby Limited parking
- Barrie (10/5): B - Pleasant staff. Noisy outside drinkers.
- Angus (8/5): -
- panetta (9/5): Great location. - comfy bed. powerful shower. central location. It was ok for us as we went out but room is over bar so you can hear the noise until close.
- Gerhard (1/5): Will not stay here again - Location and parking We were only told upon arrival that there was going to be a disco that night until approximately midnight. This was not great news for us and in the event the noise was so loud the floor and walls of the room were vibrating and it was impossible to watch/hear the television even. Even when the music stopped there was a crowd below the room window until about 1.00pm. Had we know this we would not have stayed here and we should have been told in advance.
- Katherine (7/5): - Helpful staff and a nice room in a central location Be prepared to hear the music and patrons in the pub below
- Alan Leon (7/5): Overnight - Location was good More choices for breakfast
- Jane (8/5): -
- Richard (6/5): - ok for an overnight while travelling
- David (8/5): Lovely stay at The Shambles. - Excellent location & easy to park.
Friendly staff & excellent breakfast.
- Michael (8/5): -
- Neville (6/5): Good location for a budget standard accommodation. - The location is ideal for getting about the area. We had to ask late at night for another bath towel and another cup/saucer, as there was only 1 in the room. We had already asked late in the afternoon, however this had not been dealt with.
The bathroom was not exactly clean, and could do with a deep clean…………
- Steve (10/5): Booked for a work trip - an intensive course based locally. The Shambles was an ideal location to stay. A comfortable ro - Comfortable, clean and warm. A great shower in the room! It was absolutely fine! No onsite parking, had to pay for that, just to make others aware.
- Robin (7/5): Great overall - Staff were excellent and helpful. It was annoying that breakfast could only be served from 8:30 a.m. onwards. It's just a stupid time to start breakfast as most people have somewhere to go.
There was a humming noise at night in the room which seemed to be coming from a power room or noisy heating system.
- GEOFFREY (8/5): Good to be back in the UK again and enjoyed my 5 night stay at "The Shambles". Very good breakfast. - I already knew the proximity of this establishment as I have family living in the area so that was the key for me to stay there.
My room was very clean and comfortable. The beds were very good. Facilities excellent with tea, coffee and biscuits in the room. Three supermarkets within a five minute walk and many other local shops to browse. The main disappointment was the lack of free parking on site. There is pay and display parking adjacent to "The Shambles" but I did find somewhere to park for free 200 yards away. I arrived on a Friday and that was quite noisy in the evening with bar customers standing outside until late, but after that is was ok.
- Daniel (10/5): -
- Ian (7/5): -
- Julie (9/5): - The bed was comfy and the room warm. The food downstairs was very good. Nice town.
- Bev (10/5): Comfortable, clean and friendly. Great find. - It was very clean and comfortable and had everything you need. Tea and coffee facilities, free toiletries, Netflix available on the tv. Breakfast was excellent and they catered for my gluten free allergy. All staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend the Shambles and I would stay again. There was no parking at the Shambles but there were plenty of cheap car parks right next to it.
- Peter (9/5): -
- Ross (9/5): Clean, comfortable, and friendly staff, - Great stay with very friendly staff and a wonderful gluten free breakfast. Would recommend.
- Philip (10/5): - Lovely friendly staff
- Daniel (10/5): Excellent Stay! - Convenient, Clean, Well Maintained, Private and Practical. Seamless from start to finish, Rooms have private entrance from the pub if desired and that was good for myself. Will be back soon as it was just perfect for me. Thank you.

- Karen (10/5): I would definitely recommend the shambles - Helpful staff, rooms were clean could not fault the time we stayed at the shambles Staff very helpful and friendly
- Sarah (7/5): Wonderful room, breakfast and staff but very noisy meaning very little sleep! - The breakfast was great, the staff were lovely and the room was very clean and well laid out. The noise in and outside the pub below made it impossible to sleep until nearly 2am - the windows are thin and the walls are thin so no sound proofing so I wouldn’t recommend staying on a busy night for the pub - there was a disco which went on until 00:30 which was right below us and then drunk people where loudly chatting for a lot longer outside - then you could hear the clean up operation afterwards.
- Robin (5/5): nice place , but bad soundproofing - the room and facilities were great the single glazed windows with a kebab shop just outside making lots of noise. then the sea gulls and crows in the morning cleaning up form the night before. So didn't get much sleep.
- Pat (5/5): Nice clean rooms. Almost no sleep due to awful hard bed. - Well appointed, clean room.
Good to have heated towel rail. Good shower
Lighting good.
Great location for event I was attending.
Big downside..... bed much to hard, even with the mattress topper I brought with me
Lot of noisy people hanging around, underneath my window, well after 1 am. I guess due to flood lighting and location of Pizza shop . See above

- Gemma (10/5): A lovely, comfortable stay with great staff – would definitely stay again. - The staff were really friendly and helpful, the room had everything we needed and was clean and tidy. Loved the little touch of biscuits in the room too! Nothing really – even with the live music on downstairs it wasn’t too noisy and we still slept fine.
- Tara (3/5): So loud, the vibration was through the floor & the banging on the walls was ridiculous! - Great staff ,location & value for money but the noise was ridiculous! The music was so loud! Couldn’t put the TV on as wouldn’t hear it, the vibrations could be felt in the bathroom. Our window was over the courtyard & the banging on the walls was awful! The pub should have told us at the time of booking that there was VERY LOUD! Entertainment on until 1am!
- Beth (8/5): -
- William (8/5): Good value & comfortable room - Nice comfy bed & room. Nice bar downstairs that serves food too. All the staff were friendly & welcoming. Minor niggles - coffee sachets in the room were really bitter! Could do with a decaf options too (though sure you could get it in the bar). Also, i believe the room was above the kitchen & there was, what sounded like an extractor fan, noise all night.
- Nicole (9/5): -
- Andrew (8/5): Great place to stay - Great location and easy to park - Saturday night to Sunday. A bit noisy, but it’s a pub and it was Saturday
- bain (9/5): -
- Jodie (10/5): -
- Stuart (8/5): Exactly what I was after. - Centrally located accomodation with a clean and tidy room.
Quiet and not affected by patrons in the pub.
Functional which was exactly what I was after. Bathroom was a little snug but not a major issue.
- Sarah (7/5): Overall a good stay. - Clean comfortable room. Friendly staff Room was hot and no fans were available.
Above a pub so was very noisy until late fri & sat.
Stopped serving food very early which left me with not a lot of other choices other than takeaways in the area
- Michael (3/5): Poor -
- Ike (9/5): Superb -
- Jinette (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christine (8/5): Good stay excellent breakfast - Clean and tidy
- Colleen (8/5): Comfortable - Location suited our needs. Didn’t have a full breakfast. Staff very helpful. Bed was comfortable and room was clean.
- Nicole (7/5): Nice property, very clean. Great location and friendly staff. - The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. It was a hot day and no fan was provided.
- Follows (10/5): An amazing stay - The room was amazing, much nicer than we were expecting considering the price isn't ridiculously high! The room was so clean and the facilities were great. The staff were lovely, in particular Stacey the landlady who showed us to our room and spoke to us when we were leaving. We had a meal at the pub as well which was also so good! We had no problems whilst staying here.
- Alix (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful, comfortable room, and very accommodating staff for breakfast!
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janice (9/5): It was an ideal overnight stay - The location was great.
I didn’t have breakfast. N/A
- Gansone (6/5): Pleasant - That it's in centre There was no hair fan
Could hear every neighbor
Too expensive for that
- Sally (7/5): Nice place for the night just off the M1. - Lovely old pub, quite quirky. The chef plays darts on a Thursday so missed out on supper! Good Indian up the road though.
- Andrew (10/5): Really pleasant stay, recommend - Really helpful staff helped me to check in earlier than expected so I could get to a meeting. So incredibly helpful
- Kerry (8/5): Very good - Cosy room, we dropped on as we have a window on the bedroom and bathroom which create more air as it was a hot day. Bed was comfy and shower was good Towels need to be a bit bigger
- Khinley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jan (10/5): Exceptional - Very welcoming and friendly check in on arrival, clear details about property and facilities.
Beautiful clean bedrooms
Excellent wi fi reception
Delicious breakfast at a good price
Would definitely recommend this place to stay for a short or longer break. Nothing everything was perfect
- Kerry (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely place, cosy and great location with easy parking. We had room 2 and there was a window in the bathroom and bedroom looking out onto the little beer garden. It was very comfy and quaint The prices in the bar ! We paid £8.25 for a Bailey Coffee in a small cup. Drinks were expensive!
- Keith (10/5): Exceptional - Staff very helpful, chatty and pleasant. Room lovely, good lovely and hot breakfast. Bar and pub layout good. Loved the live band Could have done with a bathmat and hand towel.
- Gary (8/5): Very nice place, -
- Charlotte (9/5): Superb - Perfect location for my needs. Really friendly staff. Great price. Shower mat in the bathroom would be great to avoid using a towel on the floor. Otherwise great
- John (7/5): Convenient. - The location was good and easy to find The main issue was parking. The staff were vague about traffic wardens and said their parking place at the rear could get blocked. Just put a note in the info folder giving the times from which parking fees are due and the cost. When we left we saw the brewery delivery lorrry blocking the exit to their space, no real problem as it was temporary.
- Christine (9/5): Perfect for us, we’ll definately come again. - Beautiful thatched building, so much has been newly renovated to a high standard Having to walk outside to get to the bedroom (not far)
- Granville (10/5): Happy to help and always with a smile - Friends staff will go extra distance to help All fine
- Andrew (4/5): Disappointing - Good value property Very difficult to get a copy of the invoice which i I need being a Buisness trip
- Alun (7/5): Good - No food available after I think 8pm . Simple bit of bar food would be good.
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Everything staff where great can't complain about anything Nothing
- Andy (9/5): Superb -
