• まつ (8/5): 街の中心部から遠いが、優良な宿 - チェンマイの街の中心部からかなり離れているというのが唯一の難点だが、それ以外はかなり優良な宿。 近くには、市場やローカルなフードコートやスーパーマーケットなどもあり、ローカルな雰囲気の中でのんびり過ごしたいという人にはおすすめ。 あと、宿のスタッフも感じが良く、親切であり、程よい距離感で接してくれる。 チェックイン時に、お手製の地図で周辺の店情報や観光情報などを時間をかけて案内してくれると思う。 部屋は毎日ベッドメイクがあり、その際にバスタオルは交換用バスケットに入れておけば新しいものに交換してくれる また、石鹸やシャンプーなど備品の他、毎日750mlの水ボトルが２本支給される。 ちなみに、宿の一階はカフェスペースになっており、猫カフェほどではないが数匹の猫が飼われていてそれをウリにしている。 宿泊者はカフェ内のパソコンなども利用可能だし、wifiも部屋で使える。 宿には自転車もあり余っていれば無料で貸し出してくれる。ただ、自転車のサドルの高さが工具がないと調整できないので、高さが合わない自転車の利用は避けたほうが無難。 チェンマイ２度目とかで、観光よりものんびり過ごしたいという人にはかなりおすすめの宿。

There are lots of local eating places nearby. We really enjoyed our stay here. The little touches made it even more pleasant

• Yati (8/5): Good value for money - Fave thing about the guesthouse - The staff, particularly Nancy (not sure if the spelling is right), was very helpful. She was friendly to us, and was very warm to our toddler. She even helped carry him up and down the stairs a couple of time! She gave maps and tips to navigate the area, places of interest, etc. Least fave thing about the guesthouse - The bathroom was outside of the room, you have to go out to the balcony to access the bathroom. But we were fine with it.

• Robin (10/5): Favorite place to stay in Chiang Mai - Banilah is my favorite place to stay in Chiang Mai. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the rooms are excellent. The location is another big plus, it's in a neighbourhood that's nice and quiet and that has great cafes and restaurants.

The location is good with it just minutes from the northwest mote. Lots of coffee and Thai restaurants in the area. Free use if their bikes to take to Maya mall. They have a cat cafe attached to the hotel. But you can sit outdoors if allergic.

Le personnel est attentionné, de bons conseils et les filles sont adorables. Cet etablissement mérite une note d'exellence. De l'eau et des vélos prêtés gracieusement. Nous nous y sommes très bien sentis.

Hôtel très propre, la gérante très gentille, dévouée vraiment adorable. Là réception est super zen, c'est un coffee cat. On a adoré !!! Le seul petit souci, l'hôtel n'est pas très bien isolé du bruit...
• Inna (10/5): - Our highest recommendations to the place itself and deep gratitude to people who work there and hosted our family so very well. The place is super clean (everyday room clean service), nice and 7 mins on bike to the Old City Centre. Should be mentioned that In the room there is a desk that may be handy in case you work freelance. The neighborhood has everything you may probably need: from delicious bakery two minutes away up to laundry service. The stuff welcomes with a beautiful smile and well prepared maps with all hot spots and super helpful recommendations that believe me you will use on an everyday basis. So far traveling in Thailand for two months we may say confidentially that the hosts are the best and it’s important as you meet the neighborhood for the first time ! Honestly speaking, it felt like home staying over there for 11 days. Very friendly, kind atmosphere which of course due to super hosts. Keep notes: The Internet connection is high but the signal may drop once you are in the room so be prepared it may jump a bit but overall it’s perfect. The room has everything you may need and super clean , the only thing is that there is no height mirror (but that’s not critical I believe, is it?). And be ready that it can be a bit noisy in the room especially if you rent a first floor one as it is close to the road but I assure you after awhile it doesn’t bother at all. We are absolutely sure that the place is super great as for a single traveler as for a company.

Z.B. wurde uns eine Taxi App (GRAB) and Herz gelegt, mit welcher wir insgrsamz bestimmt an die 1000 Baht gespart haben. Gepäcklagerung bis zur Weiterreise am Abend war kein Problem. Roller kann man an der Rezeption bestellen und der wird dann von extern gebracht. Alles super

• Natsuko (10/5): コンパクトな部屋だけどホスピタリティあふれるスタッフのいる宿 - 部屋はコンパクトですが清潔なので安心して過ごせました。 シャワーとトイレがちょっと近いかな？シャワーを固定させて浴びるといろんな所がびしょ濡れになるので手持ちをオススメします。 スタッフが朝8時〜夜8時まで常時滞在しているので、何かあった時に助かります。 日本語は通じませんが英語ができるスタッフがいます。 到着した時に周辺のサービスなどの説明を丁寧に説明してくれて助かりました。 ソンテウのドライバーに場所を伝えられるようにタイ語でゲストハウスの場所を書いたものをもらえたので、良かったです。ソンテウドライバーに伝えづらい場所だったので。 スタッフは顔を見ると「大丈夫？問題ない？」といつも気にかけてくれます。 困ったことがあると相談に乗ってくれたので助かりました。 施設も大事ですが、とてもホスピタリティのあるゲストハウスです。 自転車も無料で貸してもらえました。 滞在中ずっと借りっぱなしでいいと言うことだったので、毎日乗り回してました。 中心地からちょっと離れてますが、高くにおいしいクロワッサンのお店やおいしいコーヒーの飲めるカフェもあるので楽しめました。 洗濯物を干す場所がないのが残念。 自分で洗ってもあまり干せません。 ただ、近くに洗濯屋さんがあるのでそこに洗濯物を出してしまうと良いと思います。 お手頃な洗濯屋さんが近くにあります。 場所はゲストハウスの人に聞くと教えてもらえますよ。 英語が全くできないと難しいかもしれませんが、海外旅行やチェンマイが初めての人にもスタッフがとても良い人なのでオススメです。 もちろん、ベテランさんにもオススメです。 ゲストハウス内で日本人には会わなかったかな。 また行きたいと思うゲストハウスになりました！
• 猫すきばばあ (8/5): 猫に癒されるプチホテル - ロビーには黒猫のヘンヘン君、牛柄のハッピー君、茶トラのマニーちゃんがいて、お出掛けしたくなくなります。 私はナイトバザールに絵を注文に行くので、ちょっと不便ですが、宿からナイトバザールまでは自転車で片道20分くらいです。宿では無料で自転車を貸してくれます。また、お願いすれば、タクシーも快く呼んで下さいます。支払う金額の確認まで、念を入れてくださいます。 ホテルの方もとても親切でした。 また　泊まりたいです‼

Podrías disfrutar de la compañía de los gatos y de las muchachas que llevan el hotel. El servicio excelente,no hay otra palabra,siempre educadísimas y atentas a todo lo que necesitas(pedir un taxi,alquilar una moto,ofrecer comida y bebida caliente) Una experiencia increíble que sin duda repetiremos,la próxima vez con más tiempo.

You can enjoy great coffee or tea (hot or cold) inside the café with the cats playing around or outside for smokers ;) They clean the room everyday,which for one person was comfortable enough.Good wifi speed. Nearby you have all the options for restaurants,bars,street food,markets,shops etc I had a pleasant stay and I hope to be back soon!
• Verified traveler (10/5): Banilah July 2017 - Can't be more positive about the staff, absolutely fantastic. Sat us down when we arrived and marked our key destinations on a map for the city. Really helped as the close sureounding area is all Thai locals and no english signs etc. The staff also helped introduce us to taxi apps rather than using the local tuc-tucs, which proved so much cheaper (despite finding out afterwards that this isn't approved bt the Thai government lol, it still worked). Really nice rooms for the price too with good A/C. Can't really fault it
• Adam (8/5): Great staff & good location - Situated 10 miniute walk from the old city where there are plenty of temples to visit and markets that run in different parts of the city on a Saturday and Sunday. The staff where amazingly helpful and speak English very well. The rooms are basic but are kept topped up with free bottled water daily. The staff give you a quick briefing as how to find everything and provide several maps that will get you to all the tourist attractions. Overall an excellent stay and would definitely re visit if we returned to chaing mai

• Kirstie (10/5): Purrr-fect - The staff at Banilah were so friendly and helpful, they provided maps and gave a very indepth insight into the local area about best ways to get around, what to see and the best value places to eat. They will order a Scooter for you and even sort laundry if the local places aren't able to take your washing. We were surprised that the reception doubles as a cat cafe, the cats keep themselves to themselves though if this isn't your thing! The coffee is good! The rooms are basic but private, great value and cleaned every day. There is a pond in the courtyard so you can hear water constantly.
• Jonas Ehn (10/5): Bedste service - Jeg har aldrig oplevet så god og personlig service som på dette hotel. Vi skulle på en udflugt. De to piger i receptionen satte min kæreste og mig bag på hver deres motorbike og kørte os hen til en "red truck" - og de pruttede endda om prisen - vi skulle jo nødigt betale for meget. Bagefter nægtede de at tage i mod drikkepenge. Det er simpelthen bare et hyggeligt sted, som for dig til at føle dig hjemme.

• Lindsey (10/5): Great friendly little hotel. - Lovely friendly hotel. Was within walking distance of the old town, temples etc. Plenty of low cost places to eat nearby. Staff were very helpful explaining local area, recommendations etc. Lovely cat café in reception. Good value for money.
• CJ (10/5): Best hotel in Chiang Mai! - The location was close enough to the city but far enough away that we got a feel for the local culture. The hotel staff was the best part of our stay, the girls sat us down with a map at our check in and showed us the ins and outs of Chiang Mai. They hired scooters for us and set us up to hang with the elephants for the day, I don't think we would have had such a successful trip if it weren't for them. The room was cozy and cleaned every day and the common area was a nice place to meet other travelers over tea/coffee. There is also a security guard every night but we found the area to be pretty safe!

• Verified traveler (8/5): Sehr schlichtes und schönes Guesthouse - Das Personal war sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Man erhält eine Stadtkarte und bekommt sie wirklich sehr verständlich und ausführlich erklärt. Wo man zum essen und zum massieren hin gehen kann, wie man am besten vor Ort hin und her kommt, usw. Die Zimmer sind etwas klein, aber super sauber. Der Kaffee für 30-60 Baht ist auch sehr zu empfehlen. An sich ist dieses kleine Guesthouse sehr süß gestaltet und die Katzen muss man einfach mögen! Und das Internet funktioniert tadellos, wir konnten auch YouTube streamen. Ist also zu empfehlen!
• Selma (6/5): Super friendly owners - Owners were the nicest person that I met in Thailand! They adviced us about where to eat, what to do in the area, it was great as we could enjoy local's life! Rooms need a refreshment (especially the bathroom) even trough it was quite clean.
• JUN (2/5): 上当了！ - 水泥家具，没有空调，只有蚊帐和风扇，房间小，用门栓的没有锁的。就像住农民家里一样。厕所在需要走出房间阳台上条件差。有蚂蚁，空调房需要加钱后就比附近的其它正规酒店贵了而条件有差许许多多。
• HU (10/5): C/P值高的民宿 - 房間乾淨，簡單，舒適，老闆娘在入住時解說附近吃喝玩樂路線，非常詳細，晚上還有保全在門口，非常安心。大廳有可愛的貓咪。租車可請老闆代訂，會騎到民宿來。

• Tai (10/5): More than what I expected, ideal for solo traveler - Have a pleasant stay for my 6D5N city escape. The guesthouse is located about 15mins away from Chiang Mai Airport and you can easily grab a shared shuttle bus services at the airport Exit. Fees is about 80THB per pax. The guesthouse has a great accessibility to all the famous local foods. Restaurant, cafes, 7-eleven, LOTUS TESCO market are all within walking distance. Famous old city, night bazaar and Nimman road are just about 2-3km away . The guesthouse offer bicycles services (about 8-10units) at FREE charges! Bike service are available too but is chargeable. The room is quite big and air-condition. It was clean and has a individual bathroom, ideal for budget traveller who prefer some privacy. Basic room amenities i.e drinking water, glasses,hot water, hanger, shampoo, soap (handmade aromatic soup) are provided and replenish daily. Definitely value for money! The guesthouse atmosphere are cozy and surrounded with green plants, fountain and fishes. For pet lovers, you will love their cat themed lobby and there are 11 cats sleeping around the lobby. Lastly, the staffs and services are 5 stars (credit to Nancy)! They are friendly and very helpful. Going to miss you all.

• Scott (10/5): Excellent guesthouse with super helpful staff - We originally booked to stay at Banilah for 2 days but ended up staying for 6 days in total. :) Location: The location ws great for us as it isn't right in the centre of town, it is located in a manly thai area just a 10 walk from the old city wall. Around the hotel are quite a lot of authentic thai places to eat where you can get a nice meal for 30-50 baht. There's also a market just down the road which has a variety of benders selling thai food and tasty snacks for gear prices. Room: We booked into a room with aircon on the second floor which also comes with a fan, this was more than enough to keep us cool on them hot humid chiang mai days. The rooms have everything that you could need including all the basics (bottles of water, TV etc) and are cleaned every day by the friendly house keepers. The room door is locked from the inside by a large wooden bolt which adds a certain rustic feeling to the place which we really liked. The only thing that may put peplum off its guesthouse is the fact that the toilet is in it's own separate litting building on the balcony but don't let this put you off as it just means that you have to go onto your balcony to enter the bathroom or return to your room. Not a big deal! Customer service: The customer service provided by this guesthouse has to be some of the best we have received on our travels. When you first check in you are given a map of the city and told of everything the city has to offer including great local places to eat.

• Verified traveler (4/5): First night's reservation- left out in the rain. - Not a good first impression of Banilah. I called the owner the morning of my reservation. I told her I was arriving late and we would arrive around 10pm. I also asked to extend our stay if possible. She said she would leave my key with the security guard. All I would have to do is give my name and he would give us the key and I can complete the check in process and discuss extending our stay tomorrow. Unfortunately the guard did not have my name or my key when I arrived close to 11pm. He tried to call the owner on his phone, stopped and said he didn't have enough phone credit to make the call. I said I had credit and I could call her. I asked for her cell number. He said, "No, she is sleeping. Come back tomorrow?" So my partner and I were appalled, walked away with all our bags in the rain at 11pm to look for a new place to stay. Not nice. The next day we came back to Banilah and explained what had happened. The staff was apologetic, but blamed the security guard. It wasn't his fault that he didn't have my key. She did sit us down to discuss amenities close to the hotel, she was very nice. However, when it came to discussing extending the stay, she said we could stay an extra night for "free," and then we'd have to pay full price for any additional nights. So all in all, the "free" night was just what we originally paid for and nothing extra. Very frustrating to go through such a terrible experience and not be compensated anything for our trouble.
