The staff were incredibly friendly, the breakfast was excellent with delicious local ingredients from nearby villages, and the château itself was beautifully decorated and full of charm. Staying in such a fancy historic setting felt very special and unlike an ordinary hotel stay. Highly recommended!

Le lieux est magnifique, je recommande a tous ceux qui veulent voire des étoiles dans les yeux de leur petite fille. L équipe sur place est très agréable et les chambres calmes et confortable.le restaurant vous sert une cuisine raffinée et sans chichi. On est sur un Gastro terroir classique. Le domaine est superbe et promet une jolie balade.

Nous n’avons rien à dire sur l’établissement excepté qu’il faisait trop chaud dans la chambre. Le personnel est très sympathique et accueillant, la nourriture de qualité de première fraîcheur.

• Johan (8/5): Great place, we will be happy to come again! - Great place and the owner/ host was excellent and very accommodating, even though we arrived late due to autobahn problems in Germany. Hard to find anything wrong. We weren’t so impressed by the main course at dinner. But on the other hand the cheese cellar was great!

Breakfast is simple but nice quality food, Induction plate is provided, in case you like to bake eggs or bacon yourself. Diner was great, enjoyed the food a lot. Cosy interiors, with open wood fires. Big park to make a nice walk around the castle. Cannot think of anything negative...
• Michel (8/5): Very good - Exceptionnel environment, but room and bathroom a little oldish and simple. Breakfast served at 9 am, that's a little late. Owners very welcoming. Porto wine served free in the room... Breakfast too late and quite expensive.

The team is great and friendly. Food is french cuisine,very refined! Nothing much.. the building is old, but the rooms are clean but have been upgraded until a point that the windows are not in a great state anymore. But that is a detail compared to those authentic wooden stairs...

We've never had the experience we had at the chateau after choosing the cheese option - the cheese room was an extraordinary experience! We were made to feel very welcome by the chateau owners, who made our stay that little bit more special. Leaving!!

• Вероника (10/5): A romantic birthday - The choice to spend the weekend in Chateau d'Hassonville was made by me after thorough research of photos and reviews of different chateaus in Belgium. I wanted something special as a birthday present for my husband. And my expectations didn't let me down. The atmosphere and the setting were very peaceful and romantic. The medieval 17th century castle, the lake and 55 hectares of vast land stir your imagination and senses. Once you get inside you can browse around its endless living-rooms decorated with a slight touch of those times (even the old carpets have a touch of history), walk up the wooden stairs to the rooms (each has its own fleur) or sit in the lounge or on the terrace overlooking the surroundings. We had a room on the 3rd floor with a garden view. It was rather small but very cosy. The colours in the interior were very soft and pleasant to the eye (even the bed cover had a pattern of mint, pale pink and peach that, to tell the truth, are my favourite). The wadrobe was hidden inside the wall in the place that once used to be a window that adds to its charm. There were also two small bottles of water (still and carbonated) which was nice and a jar with port wine for those who like it sweet. The bathroom didn't have a shower, only a bath, but if you want romance what can be better than a bath for two! In the evening we had a three-course dinner (you should book a table in advance) and it was splendid. The service was very good despite the fact that some waitresses don't speak English (only French) but they do their best to make you welcome. The dishes were made to perfection. Even though at first I was slightly disappointed by the fact that they ran out of baby lobster that we had ordered, we got a starter that was not on the menu based on our preferences and it was adorable. And, besides, we got drinks on the owner as a compensation due to that slight inconvenience. And the wine selection is very extensive. A slight disadvantage is that there are no mosquito nets on the windows so be ready to have a "guest" at night 😉

In the beginning, I was a bit overwhelmed when Alexander greeted us by handshake, because I didn't expect that, but was surprised in a good way! The breakfast is a blast, with so many different choices in bread, delicious eggs, and one of the best orange juices o had in a while. Thank you for having us!

Was shown to our rooms and that’s it. No other information given about the grounds. That would have been nice or even given a map or pamphlet.

• Jessica (8/5): A night in a castle! - The room was big enough, also the bathroom. The room was cozy altho it was kind of old, but it's ok since we were in a castle. The restaurant experience was really nice :) Rooms quite old, maybe they can invest in a TV or frigobar or better furniture.

• marc (10/5): Paradise on earth - We had an amazing experience. The Chateau and the surrounding grounds are beautiful...like living in a fairy tale. The owners and staff are very kind and welcoming. The private hot tub and sauna are very relaxing and serene. The experience of eating dinner here is something we will never forget. The food was incredible and presented perfectly. Every course of our meal was like a work of art and the flavors were unforgettable. This truly has been an experience of a lifetime and we cannot recommend staying here high enough.

• Gwynne (10/5): Elegant accommodation - Amazing place - wish we had more time to explore but arrived late at night (it’s a bit difficult to find in the dark). It’s worth a stay - did not get to try breakfast but it must be as wonderful as the accommodations! We wished there had been a coffee/hot pot on our room. It would have made the stay even more pleasant. The view of the lake from our room was a lovely.

• Ken (10/5): Great Castle Experience - This was the perfect stop over while exploring some towns and castles in the Ardennes. From the trip through the forest up the driveway to the castle, to being greeted in person after driving through the gates, the experience was magical. The castle is situated on a large private grounds that you are free to explore and makes you feel like you are in Sherwood Forest. We would absolutely stay here again.

But we are very glad we did. It was a wonderful experience and one we would highly recommend to others. The chateau and dinner combined made us feel like visiting Royalty. We loved it!
