- Lawrence (6/5): - Great Staff & Location, But Some Room Issues We stayed in two villas at Romantic Beach Villas in Siargao. The staff were absolutely wonderful—very warm, helpful, and consistently kind. Their hospitality made a big difference and is a true reflection of the Filipino spirit. Breakfast was delicious and the beachside location is excellent. However, one of our villas (located near the front entrance and main street) had a couple of major downsides. The first night was extremely noisy due to a nearby karaoke café that played music until 4:30 AM. Even worse, the room had a strong foul smell—like sewer and dried fish—that no air freshener or deodorizer could remove. It affected our overall comfort during the stay. This place has a lot of potential thanks to its amazing staff and beachfront setting. Hopefully, improvements are made to ventilation and noise insulation for future guests.

However Wifi access from restaurant and reception office is fairly good. I might add that the noise of creaking bed is a bit annoying. Overall it was a great stay.

Resort is only about 30mins from airport. you can have everything you need around the area, walkable to lots of resto, bar and other needs. stafff are very very nice and kind. ocean view room was Fantastic! They also have generator in case of brownout (which i think happens a lot in Siargao) They have superb Thai food and you don't have to worry about clean drinking water. simple but good breakfast buffet. I can go on and on about good stuff with this resort (my first time to write this long reviews by the way). to make the story short. I will definitely comeback and will reccommend this place to friends and family.

My family especially the kids enjoyed the pools, beach, amenities and the breakfast. Though Siargao is experiencing low power outages, the resort has a backup generator. Will surely come back! ☀️🌊😊

- Mark (8/5): Stayed on a very busy Easter weekend... - The resort and staff are pleasant, the owner is quite a character, and there are some good eating options near by. I just wish the waves were closer. The resort is on the beach, but a long and shallow reef separates the ocean waves about a quarter-mile out. At low tide you can pretty much walk on dry reef to head out to the edge of the reef and the water. At high tide the water runs right up to the break wall so there is basically no beach. But the pool is great. I'd also not recommend staying in General Luna (GL) the entire time. Get out to Pacifico Beach resort (crashing waves may keep you up at night) or other options away from the main tourist fiasco and enjoy a more secluded stay. Main transportation to rent is motorbike, which can be heaps of fun if you have the skills, or slightly terrifying if you are new to that mode of getting around. WiFi was slow in general and very spotty in our room.

Complimentary breakfast had four choices to choose from; all were delightful. Sourrounding was stunning. Activities available was perfect and affordable. Walking distance to lots and easy access to public tricycles for 30 pesos each person. Staff were polite and knowledgeable. Thank you for our pleasant stay. I would recommend or be back.
- Verified traveler (6/5): OVERRATED - Both the hotel and Siargao are overrated. Unless you are a surfer there is really no reason to go there. There are dozens of destinations in the Philippines that are prettier, easier to get to, friendlier, less expensive and with more activities than Siargao. The continual influx of young western surfers has driven prices up and jaded the locals. The pictures of the hotel are deceptive. It is not a resort but more of a B&B or small hotel with the usual issues of maintenance and cleanliness as most Philippine hotels, cloudy pool, backed up plumbing, useless wi-fi. But room prices are +25% above comparable rooms. The food was invariably overcooked and frequently burnt. Fortunately there are a lot of restaurants nearby. The hotel's selection of European beers was excellent though. Overall 3 Star hotel, 1 star value.
- Char (2/5): Terrible all round Don't stay here. - It started out ok but went downhill fast. Heavy rain and the property flooded. I was forced to move units 4 times in 6 days because of incoming guests. Beach very shallow, No good for swimming. Food quality so so.
- Tristan (2/5): Really disappointed - While the majority of our stay was very good, some of the staff members were rude, we had clothing stolen and when it came to get our prepaid airport transfer at the end of our trip the driver threaten to leave us on the side of the road unless we paid double the price.
- Don (10/5): A Beautiful Place - This place was lovely. The hotel food was good and priced low. We did manage to get an ocean view from our balcony but it took a little convincing at first.

Also on a family room you will be charged extra for the upper beds if used ,even if staff says no extra charge.
- Ben (10/5): Cute hotel, great location, beautiful setting - I would highly recommend Romantic Beach Villas to couples or families looking for a quieter, more intimate beachfront hotel with just the right amount of amenities and a very reasonable price. As a couple taking a vacation, we booked the Ocean View room, which was very large, with good AC and comfortable beds - it was big enough for 5! The bathrooms could use some updates, but overall no complaints about the room. It was kept very clean and had all the necessities. The staff were very nice as well - they even had a large hand drawn sign welcoming us when we arrived! Located right on the beach, about a 3 minute scooter ride from the Cloud 9 surfing area, the hotel had easy access to the stunning scenery of Siargao. The property it self is well laid out, with a pool and bar area, as well as a restaurant with a pleasant breeze off the ocean - it was perfect for our 3-4 day getaway. Highly recommended.

Staff was nice and helpful, patiently waiting for me to figure out the complicated booking arrangements I made for our big group of 18 px. Our complaints: Pool was available only from 8 am to 8 pm. We wanted to soak swim in the pool after 8 but it wasn't allowed. The aircon in our Garden View Room was not able to cool our big, two storey villa satisfactorily. Otherwise, we loved our stay. Food was great! The staff were kind and helpful. Beautiful place. It did not turn out very expensive because the rooms were huge and could accommodate a lot of people so we just paid "extra person" charges for every add on to each room.

Havin morning walk to the beach was amazing as well. It was Tranquil and relaxing place. Nevertheless there was a bit of downside especially when we checked in. They did not reserve the room that i've booked in expedia (garden view, with with loft and 5 people max). Instead they reserved a room that was only good for 2 since they said i booked for 2 people. Nevertheless at the end they have given us the room that we wanted due to luck since the one that they reserved the room for did not show up. It would be better next time that they stick to what room people booked for since thats what was paid for in the first place. They need to organize the reservations well so that people won't get disappointed when they arrive in the resort. I truly hope the owner or incharge of the resort needs to take notice of the reviews and at least take each suggestions into consideration. I'd still come back to the place on my next holiday though coz i do like it.

Make sure you take a shuttle from the airport because you will not find the place without their knowledge. In a hidden location near other tiny resorts. Suprised by the good food located right at the resort. Pool clean....beach nice !! Furthest you have to walk to the beach from resort is 300 feet. Area is really safe even though many poor people live in the area. Never felt out of place. Main road leads to other areas of the island. No supermarkets or fast food !! Bring snacks.....no place to even buy those. Lots of places have made to order meals. No problem finding beer or soda. Couldn't find juice or gatorade anywhere. Spacious rooms and they all have a fridge. Take advantage of the locals offering rides on motorcycles with them....will take you anywhere for 20 pesos (40 cents). Also take advantage of locals offering rides in their boats to other islands or to go snorkeling. All day is less than 1500 pesos ($30.00). They are nice and just need the money so why not?
