Grant (9/5): Loved it. Great location, fantastic staff, awesome safari drives. - The staff are lovely, cannot do enough to help. The accomodation is great, private, comfortable, our room had views over the waterhole which was amazing, the hide was amazing and the safari drives were a great highlight. Loved every minute. Nothing really. It would have been an added touch to have a small gym onsite even with just treadmills as you can’t go for a good walk. Also we weren’t aware you had to prebook the yoga, as that would have sufficed.

Adrian (9/5): A great place to enjoy wildlife experiences in quality accommodation - Rhulani is a relatively small safari lodge, which ensures that there is a personal touch at all levels. The chalets are beautiful and located privately, though within just a few minutes walking distance from the restaurant/lounge area. The underground waterhole hide is an obvious bonus, with elephant and zebra frequently present. The lodge facilities are excellent but it is the morning and evening game drives that define your stay here. Our guide, Thato, was superb and went above and beyond to ensure that guests had memorable experiences of Madikwe's marvellous wildife. As lovely as the chalets are, there is not much room to put things (cameras, books, binoculars etc.) down!

The staff were exceptional — they know every guest so well and treat you in such a personal and thoughtful way. From arrival to departure, they make every night feel like a fairytale. The small heated pools at each house were very cozy, and the shared pool was beautiful. Everything is perfectly arranged for the guests. I would 100% recommend this place to everyone! Deen, our ranger, did an amazing job making sure we saw everything we wanted and more. He also had great stories for everything we saw, which made the experience even more special. Nothing, all was fantastic!!

Very special watching elephants from our decking and the hide each day! The staff were absolutely lovely, nothing too much trouble and so friendly and welcoming. The food was good and lovely pool area. The game drives were amazing, we love safari but Rhulani really is special as James was an exceptional guide. He was so knowledgeable, personable and had such a lovely nature that he made the trip for us - thank you! We had the most amazing 5 days and can't wait to return. Only very minor feedback is that it would be great to have some sort of gym equipment, even just an area with free weights would have been great.

The styling & decor is stunning, the food is great quality and plentiful, the staff are efficient and so kind. We had Villem as our guide and he had such a good energy, knowledgable and easy to get along with. We stayed 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Arriving back to a roaring fireplace in our room after our evening game drive was magic. The boma night was also an absolute highlight, where everyone (guests & staff) came together under the night sky and enjoyed an abundance of delicious African dishes - incredible.

The room is a bit outdated. The main disappointment is the quality of the food and the service around the food. The breakfast, lunch and diner are quite poor. Choices are limited and you will the same salade with a small adjustment everyday as lunch. Simple bbq and the drive food and drink quality is poor.

Everything was great - the staff was so nice and friendly, room was astonishingly good (, all the food was excellent, many ammenities, beautiful hotel and the routine, ah, we will miss the routine - 2 very long and pleasant game drives per day, during which we were fortunate enough to see the main / most wanted animals; our ranger was very good in the explanations too, and complemented our views. Nothing! Really, this is a perfect or almost perfect hotel.

Andrew (10/5): Luxury in the wilderness #feelthebush - Welcoming and wonderful from the minute the staff greeted us as we arrived to the inevitable sad time of departure. Food, service, room comfort and safari trips were all excellent, and the staff acted as one big, happy family. A lovely touch to come back from the morning drive on Easter Sunday to a room with some Easter treats laid out on the bed. For us it wasn't an option, but I would suggest three nights, and four if they have a stay three get the fourth night free offer on. Leaving

Nothing was missing, super clean. Delicious food; service is beyond, everybody is friendly and makes you feel like royalty. You can watch the water hole from the lobby; there are always animals visiting. We saw baboons, elephants, giraffes, hyenas, impalas, zebras while having a drink. It’s a magical place. Our ranger was unbelievable, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and fun. We saw so many animals, learned so much. Nothing. It was perfect.

We were taken on twice daily game drives with a very kind interesting and knowledgeable ranger named Willem. We saw all the animals we dreamed of seeing and more, but also learned about plants and insects. The lodge is very beautifully designed, and the private cabins are nice and very comfortable, with a private pool. The beds are super comfortable and have a nice big mosquito net around them (which doesn't touch the bed so doesn't make you feel claustrophobic the way they sometimes do. The food is excellent and the staff is wonderful. Good spaces for hanging out during the day. The lodge has a watering hole where you can see animals throughout the day, which is a wonderful experience. As a recommendation to the lodge I would say that we were getting slightly overfed. There were snacks when you got up at 5 for your drive, snacks on the way, then a big breakfast, massive lunch at 1, then a high tea before the second game drive, then snacks on the road and then dinner. Great food but perhaps a bit much.

Derek (10/5): A life changing experience to get in touch with nature and enjoy all it has to offer in luxury - We took a small plane to Madikwe, arranged by Rhulani. We got picked up by our fieldguide, Dean, and brought to our lodge. The drive to our lodge was already a great experience, Dean has extensive knowledge about all the things we saw; from animals - the big ones and the smallest ones - to the plants, minerals and history. All staff was waiting for us to arrive and gave us the warmest welcome we have ever had anywhere. The lodge itself is beautiful, very luxurious and exclusive. Everyday started with small bites, and drinks. The gamedrives, two everyday, were an amazing experience. Dean told us many great stories about interaction between animals, the history of the land and many additional stories about all things in nature. We were very lucky to have him as a guide, not only because of his knowledge but also because he is a very kind, passionate and funny guy. During the gamedrives we made a stop for sundowners or coffee just after sunrise, a very nice additional experience as we got to hear even more stories and have every single question we had answered thoroughly. In the lodge we got taken care of very well, from fantastic food from the lands (different types of game), to luxurious drinks and cocktails. Between the gamedrives you get spoiled with the best food and drinks we could wish for, from lunch to small bites. There is a hide out where animals have access to a watersource, from elephants, giraffes to antilopes. You get to see them in close up from a safe place. The rooms are fantastic and have everything and more you would expect in such a beautiful place. Our room even had a small pool, with a view on the bush where all kinds of animals pass through on their way to the water source. The staff is amazing, from the manager Tom, the owner who was there between the other guests as well, to every single staff member we encountered; very kind, helpful and fun to talk to. Nothing to add, everything was perfect.
Rafael (10/5): WOW - It was amazing!! We had such a great and wonderful time in here!! The room was perfect, well organized and stylish! The plunge pool was something else!! THe facilities are really good too! Worth an especial comment for all the staffs, guides, chef... everyone! They were great, which made the whole experience better! If you looking to a place to relax, drink and eat well - this is the one! The game - the reserve is well sized with plenty of animals!! We saw the big fives in one morning (not so common but it happened). Lots of entertainment and the guides had a huge knowledge of the area, which made or game drive way more entertaining!

Xinrui (10/5): Spectacular trip - Our stay completely exceeded our expectations. The whole trip was spectacular. The room and the lodge were tastefully decorated. The bed was super comfortable. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Everyone felt like looking after you like a family member, unlike some commercialised option, friendly but cold. The attention to details are exceptional, when we left, they even filled our water bottles with fresh water for our journey without telling us. AND the game drives!!! We saw 4 out of the big fives on the first drive! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and very passionate about all kind of wildlife, patiently answering all our questions. And always goes to extra mile to find the most extraordinary view for us. Thanks so much to Dean, our guide, leaving us a everlasting memory. Also the hide, where you can rest in comfort and watch animals having very natural and intimate behaviours within arm reach. Highly recommend Rhulani, we’d love to come back one day! Lions and leopards roaring at night? lol Just kidding, it was such a luxury to be completely emerged in nature and there is nothing we didn’t like about the place.
Anonymous (10/5): Awesome and magical. - The lodge is beautiful, luxurious and authentic. The food was amazing and plentiful. The staff are so friendly and thoughtful. The attention to detail to create a 5 star experience was evident. We saw the big 5 and 2 cheetah brothers up close and loved going down to the hide to see the animals at the waterhole. We also enjoyed bubbles in the hot tub!!Would definitely recommend and go back again Nothing

The chalet was terrific with a great view of the waterhole, the staff was super friendly and helpful and took the extra mile to accommodate our every wish. We were lucky to see many animals and all with the best guide - Wiliam! We highly recommend this place! none
Jed (9/5): it was good value for a very short stay. - it was pretty and interesting. water hole/hide was very special. I was a solo traveler. For some reason they seated me alone in a separate room for dinner. I would have enjoyed meeting other people. The lodge was full and this may have been they only seat they had.

Pauline (10/5): Unforgettable!! - The chalets are amazing with so much privacy, the hide was spectacular (at one moment there were 15 elephants drinking there). Also the game drives with our hilarious ranger Alasdair were so much fun!! The staff is amazing and makes you feel so at home. You can tell they love their job and we will we definitely come back again especially because of these lovely people.

We saw 4/5 of the big five in the three nights we stayed at Rhulani. We also saw so many other animals and brids. The staff was so nice. We missed our flight and Lisa was able to find us a road transfer in very little time. Saving us from a very stressful moment. The food was great, you’ll never go hungry at Rhulani. Very well kept and clean. The rooms are lovely with stunning views. Sean was our ranger and he made our trip even that much better. Very knowledgeable and friendly.

That feeling of welcome continued through our visit. Food - breakfast, high tea and dinner - all excellent. Beautiful rooms with private pools. Our guide was Sean Townsend. The best! Two safaris daily. Sean explained what we were seeing and did his best to track animals. Yes we saw the big 5. We also stopped while in the bush for drinks in the evening and hot drinks in the morning. I'm glad I had the opportunity to have this adventure. I highly recommend it!
