- Laurence (10/5): -
- Linda (8/5): -
- McLellan (10/5): Great place to stay if in Dangriga for one night. - Close to the bus station, ATM, the good restaurant in town. Perfect spot to stay after getting off the Ragga Sailing Adventure tour in Dangriga.
Spacious room, VERY clean linens, no bugs, AC worked well, comfy/new pillows, I stayed on a Sunday evening and was treated to the sound of some of the Garifuna drumming from somewhere nearby! It lasted for about an hour and was done well before bed time. It was lovely to listen to while repacking my bag and getting ready to fly home the next day. :) Easy check in/check out. Quick/responsive on the Booking.com site messenger service when I needed to change my check in date last minute due to unexpected change in travel plans and was able to stay there a few days later which was a relief.
- M. Torre (8/5): - Very nice owners and location. The entrance lobby is not pretty or especially welcoming but don't be deterred, the rooms were good!
- walter (8/5): -
- Kyley (10/5): -
- Barbara (10/5): - Die Familie kümmert sich sehr gut um die Gäste. Herzlich und zuvorkommend. Wir durften früher einchecken und sie haben uns angeboten, die Motorräder auf dem Grundstück hinter dem Tor zu parken.
- Louis (7/5): You get what you pay for. - Good location in the middle of town. Walkable to restaurants, grocery stores, etc. The hotel needs some upgraded. The building and property look run down.
- Martina (10/5): -
- Isabel (10/5): - Die Unterkunft war sehr toll! Alle Mitarbeitenden waren sehr nett und freundlich, das Bett war sehr bequem und es war alles super ausgestattet!
- Benguche (6/5): -
- Yelena (8/5): - Attention from the staff, room, cleanliness No elevator
- Kristin (9/5): Comfortable base to explore Dangriga - I wasn't sure what to expect, but the room and bathroom were very well-equipped. It even had an iron (which I actually needed). Everything was neat and clean. The AC and fan both worked well.
The hotel is in a good location, a short walk from the bus station, the water, and several good restaurants. They provide coffee, water, and bananas for guests. The power and wifi go out from time to time (probably a town issue, rather than a hotel issue?). When the power goes out, emergency lights go on, which is good for safety, but annoying in the middle of the night. Only happened a few times.
- Paul (9/5): -
- Jeremy (8/5): -
- Delilah (10/5): - The exceptuonally friendly, professional and gracious staff. The stairs are a challenge especially for persons with knee problems.
- kate (8/5): Great value, well located, very friendly - Great hotel, just what we needed for a night before heading to the islands. Very friendly staff, and felt very relaxed.
The rooms were basic and comfortable, good air con! There was coffee, water and bananas available for snacks.
Very well located for cafes / docks / bus station (we walked from there to the hotel) / airport would be a few minutes by taxi.
We’d stay again. Nothing
- martinez (9/5): -
- Aisia (7/5): Good - Very friendly and helpful staff. They let us check in a few hours early:) It's a badic hotel, but it had everything we needed
- Angela (9/5): Superb -
- Kate (8/5): Basic but clean hostel with friendly management - Clean and friendly, a great overnight stop-gap for a hot shower and a good sleep in a comfy bed at the end of a sailing trip that left us in Dangriga. Gerzon on the front desk was particularly helpful.
- Simon (9/5): Superb - Good place to stay before heading to Tobacco Caye Ants in the bathroom
- Kendra (10/5): Close to everything, comfortable, great place for a stay in Dangdriga. - Close to everything. AC and comfortable beds.
- Gavin (9/5): Superb - The owners and staff were the friendliest people.
- Dean (8/5): Great Stay, Great Service - I did not have breakfast. I enjoyed the staff services and helpfulness. This is a great place as it close to the sea and centrally located. Laundry service was not available. To the desk: I asked for service and you pointed to a lady across from the hospital. I want you to know she ruined four shirts and socks of mine by coloring them pink and red spots. Do not send your people out to her. It is not your fault...just be aware of her services. I would never recommend her. The only one in my four months in Belize that ruined my clothes like that. I had nothing in my clothes that was red or pink. Thank you I know this is nothing against the staff at this hotel. They were just suggesting a place.
- Michael (5/5): Passable -
- Nina (8/5): Comfortable hotel in the centre of Dangriga - We had a spacious and comfortable room with fan and air con. Coffee and bananas were available in the lobby. Staff were friendly and helpful, helped with transport and late checkout. Good location a couple of blocks from main street one way and shore in the other, plenty of eating places in a short walk. Bathroom fittings could have a refresh. No laundry service.
- Morgan-wortham (10/5): Reasonably priced, clean and comfortable stay. - The property was on a quiet, safe street that was close to the boat where we got dropped off. It was also close to local shops and restaurants. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable!
- Sharmi (7/5): Good -
- Kimberly (10/5): Like staying with friends. - Clean, friendly, accommodating. Very safe . Good AC . Fresh water on every floor. Hosts extremely helpful in providing directions, recommendations and arranging transport.
- Denise (7/5): Good for an overnight - Clean, quiet, close to restaurant and dock Boarded up window, very dated
- Zoe (9/5): Superb - The hotel was very clean. We had a spacious 3-bed room with a private bathroom. The staff were attentive and brought us clean towels, etc. even though we declined room cleaning service. The staff also lent us bowls and utensils so we could make our breakfast. Room was well-equipped with a refrigerator, and there was potable water and a microwave in the hallway. The beds were a bit uncomfortable - the springs seem worn out.
- Robdonaldson (7/5): Good -
- Orio (8/5): My friends and I stayed 2 nights. It was comfortable. - We didn't have breakfast at the hotel.. Next time I need to book the first floor. Climbing the steps is not good for my knees
- Noriko (7/5): Good -
- Chad (10/5): Overnight stay passing through, close to everything. - Fruit trees in the garden were wonderful and the staff were very lovely.
- Krystel (1/5): Stay somewhere else! - When I arrived at the hotel, Jensen (not sure if it’s the right spelling) checked me in, and he was rude. Since I was on the 3rd level, I asked him to help me with my luggage as I was carrying my baby and he said he doesn’t help with luggage. He was just plain rude! Brandon ( he was the only nice person at the hotel) who saw what was happening said he would help me with the luggage. That same night a woman at the front desk was questioning me and asked if I’m staying at the hotel. She told me her name was Karen or Carin. Not sure if they gave me their right names, as they were surprised that I asked them for their names. The staff is just super rude. I will never come here. I stayed for the 2 nights since I had already paid for them, then left to a better hotel. The staff was very rude.
- Lynnette (7/5): Good - Friendly staff.. Basic but clean. The aircon didn't work very well.
- Vicki (8/5): Excellent value for the money, very good support for traveling! - Very good, especially compared to other breakfasts in Belize Facilities were older but charming
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hideki (9/5): Backpacker friendly and cozy place to get some good rest with kind staffs. - I was greeted by their laid back and kind reception. View from top balcony helped me with my birding and getting some grasp of the Dangriga city. It was walkable distance to the main street to grab snacks or go to bar. New clean paintjob in my room made me very comfortable to stay! I requested for a shuttle service from the Dangriga airport to the hotel but it did not go through somehow and did not see my shuttle on the day. So I simply used taxing instead from the Dangriga and it cost me about $20 Belize. There are usually some local taxi service waiting to pick people up when planes arrive.
- Thomas (7/5): Clean but dated hotel, overpriced - Rooms were clean, staff was very friendly. The AC smelled and looked mouldy, there were surprisingly a few cockroaches in the room. The room feels like a basement. It was expensive for what it is - an old building in a poor neighborhood. We had to stay a night in Dangriga and this was the only option.
- Uncle (9/5): Superb -
- Arthur (9/5): Superb -
- Mathieu (6/5): Simple rooms well located if you are coming from Tobbaco Caye - It was close from the Dandriga Speed Boat duck and from restaurants. Rooms are spartiates and deprived of about anything.
- Guy (7/5): Good -
- Luisa (10/5): Nice family run hotel - Very nice family run hotel. The owners are extremely nice, there are always water, coffee and bananas downstairs for guests and the rooms are clean and nice. Good place to discover Dangriga, which is a place where one can see a piece of everyday life in Belize before or after visiting the wonderful cayes.
- Beth (10/5): Exceptional - Adorable, clean, hot running water A little bit rough part of town
- Diane (7/5): Dangriga provided an opportunity to learn about Garifuna history & culture. - Coffee and bananas were complimentary
The shower featured a strong flow of hot water!!
Staff was willing to contact Garifuna Museum for opening hours, and to provide directions.
The window was screened to keep out bugs!
Owner was very friendly.
We enjoyed a comprehensive guided tour of the museum while in Dangriga. Alas, the museum did not include recordings of the various genres of Garifuna music. The city, Dangriga, was not appealing. Trash cans were overflowing. Few restaurants were open.
- Karin (6/5): Owner & staff Human kindness compensate to old basic facility - The owner and the staff were very very kind. They offered coffee and bananas and water if you need to stay in dangriga it is two minutes walk from the bus terminal and close to a few bars, even in the evening. The property is in dangriga and the village is not pretty. The hotel is a large old building. They are trying to renovate. You find what you need, but not good value for money.
- Praire (7/5): Good -
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Kristin (9/5): Great spot with sea views from one of the highest buildings in Dangriga. - Mr. Chad and his family are very friendly and accommodating. I was in town for a mental health conference and sound sleep was essential. Mr. Chad went above and beyond and put me in the perfect room for my stay. I was greeted each morning with a bright smile, bonus! He takes great pride in his town of Dangriga which is evidenced by his hard work. His son Elihue is an excellent taxi driver. If you need a ride from the international airport, you will receive a bonus because you will learn about his native country. He can also get you safely to almost anywhere in the country with his well-maintained vehicles.
- Sophia (8/5): Great stay at a great price. Would definitely recommend if you're trying to save on a stay. - I was grateful they served coffee and bananas for breakfast. Most locations in Dangriga do not offer anything like that. I also really loved that there was more than 1 bed in our room. If I had been traveling with more people, this would be the place to stay on a budget HANDS DOWN. The room had AC, hot water for the shower and everything you need for a comfortable night of rest.
- Desarie (10/5): Exceptional - Mr. Chad and his wife made sure I was comfortable in my room .I didn't had to ask for my room to be cleaned . Clean linen at all times and good conversation with complimentary bananas and unlimited coffee. Would definitely recommend this Hotel💝 Also hotel location is near to most of stores and The Islands restaurant. Which is about a five minute walk even to the beachwhich is also located nearby. Hotel has a roof top area where you can hang around night time and get fresh breeze . On those very hot summer nights even though all rooms have air conditioning. Obviously nothing 👍
Well said Nothing . As a matter of Fact , I already booked my stay for next month. That's how much I love being at this hotel.
- Mariano (10/5): Great Stay! - The Customer Service was excellent!!
The room was properly cleaned everyday
The communication with the owner was exceptional
- Carl (9/5): Superb -
- Marie (5/5): Functional basic hotel. No frills. Good air con. - Located near water taxis. Had air con Very basic. faded. Hostel level. But it was expected. No window.
- Mat (7/5): Nice location nearby the beach - Good shower.
Nice location nearby the beach. No possibility for breakfast.
There is not much to do in Dangriga.
- Mazeika (8/5): No problems - I was the only tourist in the whole town of Dangriga it seemed. I am sure I am not alone in saying Dangriga is a gem in the rough, it's a major transportation hub, it has an airport. If only they cleaned up those beaches and dumped some sand, it would quickly become a big draw for tourist.
- Sylvia (10/5): Pure joy!!! - In the center of life in Dangrega. Wonderful family run hotel. Nothing everything was good
- Dušan (8/5): Very good - Free coffee and bananas in lobby, good wifi, near the port
- Francisco (1/5): Bad - The staff Bed bugs, I was eating by bed bugs every night I was afraid to sleep.
- Nina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pavol (1/5): Bad -
- Kaylee (10/5): Very clean, sweet staff, good location, great value! - The staff/owners were very kind and helpful. There was a mistake with our booking and ended up getting a free room! There was some partying outside at night that was kinda loud.
- Gary (4/5): Disappointing -
- Gary (4/5): Disappointing -
- Pavol (1/5): Bad - there is a free coffe and u can have 1 banana. It was near by a restaurant where u can go and eat some basic not so tasty food. Dirty, mold on the walls. Smelly and very noisy. Outdated, old very uncomfortable bed - u can feel the springs of the matrace.
- Marzena (8/5): Very good -
- Carola (9/5): We would stay here again. - The people at the Chaleanor Hotel do their utmost to provide the help you need. From dinner suggestions to where to find the laundromat, they are very helpful and friendly. We very much appreciated the air conditioning and cleanliness of our room. The hotel, though in good repair, is old and tired. The beds and pillows are hard. The rooms feel like they were inherited from grandma's house, functional but short on looks and comfort. There is only one plastic chair to sit on in the room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was clean, great and not expensive. Friendly staff. Top
- chad (8/5): - Not fancy, worked. Good internet
- Stephen (6/5): Adequate - It fine for a night when heading out to Tabacco Caye. Recommend eating at Alexi's, great fry Jack's.
- Sally (4/5): Disgusting shed next to loo - Mosquito ridden noisy shed with nylon sheets right next to noisy loo. Caged and smelly chickens and rabbits outside in court yard. Roof terrace is also not worth the climb. Dogs barking endlessly.
- susan (8/5): Nice clean and safe hotel - The room was so clean and welcoming. The a/c and hot water were a plus. Great staff. Super safe and beautiful view from the top veranda. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
