• Christian (8/5): - Der Geschmack vom Restaurant unterhalb ward merklich spürbar. Nach intensivem Lüften wurde es gut.

• Andrea (5/5): Passable Unterkunft um höchstens eine Nacht da zu verbringen - Das Zimmer hat über alle nötigen Dinge verfügt. Tücher, TV, Wasserkocher, Sessel etc. Sauberkeit (Haare in Dusche, dreckiger Löffel bei Kaffee, Gegenstand von früherem Gast, dreckige Vorhänge, verschmierte Wände). Sauna war nicht inklusive, obwohl dies auf booking.com so beworben wird.

• Christian (6/5): Schöne Gegend, das Wetterwar spitze. - Das Reinigungspersonal sind sehr freundlich und aufmerksam, wie auch das Personal am Empfang. Das Hotel liegt an einer stark befahrenen Strasse, da es keine Klimaanlage gibt und man nur bei offenen Fenster (Sommer) schlafen kann, ist es dann sehr laut wegen dem Verkehr. Der Fernsehr hatte keinen Empfang, keine Chance um Fernsehr zu schauen. Der Anziehspiegel war nicht mehr an der Wand gehangen, sondern lehnte nur frei an der Wand.
• Mohammadreza (3/5): An understaffed irresponsible cheap accommodation - Nothing really. The hotel is terribly understaffed. When we got there we were faced with a closed door. We learned that in order to check in we had to go to another place which required 5 min driving. They could mention that in the description. We already requested for a baby crib but it was not provided. The manager told us that he can get a crib for us from the cellar but we have to transport it ourselves to the hotel we were staying which required a van. I found that comment berating and irresponsible. It is foolish that the hotel expects the guests to transports furniture for them. In the end we had to sleep really uncomfortably on the same bed. Although we clearly stated that we are two adults and a child and we need a baby crib.

• Jeffrey (8/5): Great value for money hotel - We went to the nearby supermarket for breakfast, which was excellent We had a room facing the road and as it was warm at night it was a bit noisy to sleep with the windows open. A room on the car park side might work better

• Natalia (8/5): - Sehr gutes Hotel in zentraler Lage Der Check-in verlief reibungslos, das Hotel ist sehr sauber und gut gelegen. Parkplätze sind ausreichend vorhanden. Durch die Lage an einer Hauptstraße war es leider etwas laut. WLAN ist vorhanden, allerdings war die Anmeldung mit eSIM schwierig, da eine SMS zur Bestätigung nötig war – hier wäre eine alternative Lösung hilfreich. Insgesamt aber ein sehr empfehlenswertes Hotel!
• Reto (6/5): Hat den Zweck erfüllt - kein Luxus, kein Garnichts - Als Business Übernachtung gerade so ausreichend. Einchecken vor Ort nicht möglich, man muss zum 5 Min. entfernten Schwester Hotel fahren (oder zu Fuss gehen). Ein Bett weich, ein Bett pickelhart, Nachttischlampe ging nicht (Glühmittel defekt)... einfach das Minimum. War in Ordnung, mehr aber auch nicht.

• Michael (9/5): Superb - Top cleaning, very helpful staff. I greatly appreciate being allowed to place my bicycle in the garage, which is video monitored. Could however have hoped for some metal bar where i could have chained my expensive bike too. The location is just along a traffic road, could not find a way to regulate the room temperature, besides opening the doors, which would be very noisy with all the cars outside. No fan, no fridge, could become a problem when the temperature goes above 30 in the summer. Water fixture is not mounted correctly, moves 20 degrees to each side, upon departure informed staff about this condition, no biggie.

• Klaus (4/5): Laute Schlafstätte statt Hotel - Die Unterkunft ist zwar günstig für Schweizer Verhältnisse aber das begründet nicht das abgwohnte Zimmer mit schmutzigem Teppich. Auch die Hauptstraße vor dem Gebäude wäre nicht das Problem, wenn dort nicht ein loser Kanaldeckel wäre, der jedes Fahrzeug mit einem dröhnenden Bu-Bumm quittiert, was ab 5 Uhr morgens zu Qual wird.

• Katarina (5/5): Na ja, survivable. - The location of the property is very good - bus stop very close, good breakfast options. 1. When cleaning our room, we received only one large towel and 1 small towel although there were 2 of us in the room. This was extremely uncomfortable, as we got back very late in the evening and there was no one to sort it out (there is no direct reception at the property). By looking at number of toothbrushes they would know how many we are there, if nothing else. 2. We asked for separate beds when booking and never got a reply to our request. When we arrived we learned they are completely booked and that it is not possible. Having known that the beds are small and there is only 1 mattress on the bed, I would have chosen a different accomodation. Very uncomfortable sleeping. 3. Plastic cups in the room instead of glass cups.

O check-in foi feito em um outro Hotel próximo, conforme estava nas orientações da reserva e foi bem rápido. A subida para o quarto é de escada e, como estava com dores na coluna foi bastante difícil. Outro “problema” que tivemos foi que no quarto só havia uma única toalha de banho, a qual tive que dividir com minha esposa. Como já era madrugada e o Hotel não dispunha de funcionários, não quisemos nos deslocar até o outro hotel (onde fizemos o checkin) para solicitar a 2a toalha

• Verified traveler (2/5): The worst receptionist ever!! - This hotel is the worst. We read the review so we kind of expected already that we needed to go to get a key at another hotel. Even though they should’ve informed us ahead… that’s still okay. However, our room had only 1 set of towel. We called the hotel from our phone since the hotel’s phone didn’t seem to work. The reception name Franco is the rudest! Without saying sorry or anything he insisted that we NEED to come and pick it up at another hotel where we checked in. We kind of annoyed because it was already 11pm and we were super tired. He didn’t even bother to try to help or feel responsible for it. He sounded annoyed and then just HANG UP THE CALL!!! Seriously, the rudest ever!! This’s not even our fault. The worst experience ever.

Es war sauber, ja, jedoch konnte dies nicht über den Abnutzungsgrad des Teppichbodens sowie den Allgemeinzustand des Zimmers hinweg helfen. Das Hotel liegt an der Hauptverkehrsstraße und bei offenem Fenster fuhr der Verkehr am 6.00 Uhr gefühlt direkt durch das Zimmer. Hinter dem Hotel befindet sich aktuell eine Baustelle, die ihr übriges zum Lärmpegel am Freitag und Montag beigetragen hat. Das Hotelpersonal ist ausgesprochen freundlich und bemüht, diesen Umstand zu kompensieren.

The previous person, didn’t flush the poo in the toilet. Too hot inside with NO air conditioning AT ALL in 33 degree. No staff at all even to pick up the key. Must travel somewhere else to get the key. Awful rooms next to a very busy road. If y could, would leave NO star

• Daniel (2/5): - Leider waren das die schlimmsten zwei Tage, die ich in diesem Hotel verbracht habe. Das Zimmer nebenan wurde von Paaren gemietet, die die ganze Nacht über die Gäste übernahmen. Einer nach dem anderen. Sehr lärmend. Es fühlte sich eher wie ein Bordell als ein Hotel an. Ich werde leider nicht wieder dorthin gehen. Und ich werde es auch nicht empfehlen. Vor allem, weil das Zimmer nicht gesaugt wurde und überall Staub war, nie wieder.
• Leanne (6/5): Clean, central location, be sure to insist on a room at the back of the hotel - Room 11 was larger than expected, and very clean. Excellent location for ease of walking to bars, shops, restaurants. Parking was easy as well. The double bed is built into a corner of the room. So if the person sleeping in the corner needs to get up in the night, either a convoluted squirm down to the end of the bed or waking the person beside them is necessary. Crazy, as the room was more than big enough to have the bed properly placed for access on both sides. Must be a saga for housekeeping to make the bed after every stay. Also, we had specifically asked for a quiet room at time of booking with an assurance this would be so. However we wound up with a room right on the busy road. On a hot evening, with no air conditioning, we had to open the windows, and suffer through the noise of passing vehicles and pedestrians. Result - very limited sleep, even after using earplugs.

• Julie (3/5): Won't do that again. - location was good. The curtains were torn, the sheets were torn. There were no cups anywhere in the room the first night, I had to go and ask for some for the following day. Staff not servicing the room correctly. The wifi was horrible. It wouldn't send me a code. I tried for an hour, and the code arrive at 6:30 the next morning. The second night I was able to only get 1 device connected. I tried calling the front desk. No one answered. Very unhappy with this hotel. The breakfast was VERY overpriced. 25 CHF for a choice of 3 deli meats and 1 type of cheese. No rolls, no fresh fruit - mushy fruit salad was the only option. And hardboiled eggs. Discovered the second day you could order eggs. Staff gave a huge sigh when I asked, but brought them.

• Rachel (3/5): Overpriced, underwhelming - No breakfast and completely separate from the main hotel so was zero support or help in the hotel we were staying in. Overpriced for what you got. When I couldn't get in my room I had to walk in the freezing cold 10 mins down the road to get a new key card. People were almost smoking in the hallways as the hotel stank of smoke.

• Jana (4/5): This was a disappointing stay. - With this property, you check in at a very nice, large hotel and then have to drive quite a ways down the road to a poorly marked, dark old property. There is no elevator; I had to climb three floors with my luggage. The room overall was fine, but there was a gross smell that never went away. I don't know if it was water damage or something similar but it was not good.

I couldn’t sleep the whole night because there was on the room below more than 2 people making sex and I needed to hear that the whole night. It was disturbing. Nobody answer me on the texts or picked up the phone.

• James (7/5): Hotel Freihof - The Hotel Freihof is unattended by staff. You have to go to a sister hotel - Seminar Hotel - 650m away to check in. Check in staff at the sister hotel were very nice and explained clearly how to access Hotel Freihof. The room was clean and comfortable. No air conditioning but a fan was in the room. The pub next door is worth a visit also :) There is no lift inside the building so you will have to carry your luggage upstairs. Not a problem but be aware if you have heavy bags.
