If you are planning on being in Trail or Castlegar, the 20 minute drive to stay here is worth it. Very little train or car noise, no horrendous plump mill or smelter smells. It’s wonderful!!!

Super friendly hosts provided outstanding breakfast with homemade bread and condiments. Despite hot weather our room was cool without any air conditioning noise due to excellent ventilation infrastructure. No negatives.

So beautiful-the house and yard-and pea - Quiet location and the property is so beautifully landscaped and cared for. Our hosts were very welcoming and the suite had everything you could need. Plus, the craftsmanship of all the built-ins and furniture was incredible. And the breakfast was out of this world! Everything homemade and beautifully presented and 5-star delicious. This stay was truly a highlight of our trip and I am so grateful that Gordon and Todd were willing to share their lovely home with us for a night. We loved it all, but it wouldn’t be suitable for those who can’t manage stairs.

We indulged ourselves in an extravagant backyard garden and then rested in a gorgeous patio with a glass of wine. Our room came with an extremely comfortable bed and exquisitely hand made furniture by our hosts. We were greeted by our hosts in the morning with delicious hot coffee, homemade preserves and a baked apple from the garden, freshly picked raspberries and an omelette made with eggs from their chickens laid yesterday.
In short, this is what we look forward to in a BnB. Although we were 1800 miles from our home in the US, we would most definitely return if we can. Thank you to our new friends, Gordon and Todd. Our stay was outstanding.

Our hosts were extremely personable and we enjoyed our conversations. The fact that Todd made the furniture and the kitchen himself lent a personal touch to the accommodation. Since Genelle is a few kilometres from Castlegar, it is more of a quiet, out-of-the-way place which lends itself to a quiet stay.
