Very nice breakfast service and on-site parking. Many other families with kids. Interior is less impressive than the pictures. Detailed trim is just painted onto flat plastered walls. Room was smaller than expected.

- Actua_solutions (7/5): Nice hotel but a bit to expensive for what you get - What I liked was the staff. Very kind and proffesional. The common areas in the hotel are very nice and Italian style. Honestly for me the price is not coherent with the room. The furniture in the room in general is lacking maintenance. Your pay for a "elegant" hotel but then its all very old and the room is lacking in "decoration". Also we had a problem with hotel water and the bathroom didnt have heating... so when we entered in the morning to take a bath it was like Alaska. For 250 euros x night I was expecting more. I think its a hotel to better go in Spring or Summer.

- John (10/5): - What a unique find, it really was like stepping back in time, into history. The villa is located immediately off the main piazza of Manziana, entered through a secure gate with private car parking in the villa grounds. The welcome that we received and attention throughout our stay from all of the staff was warm and genuine, the room was tastefully decorated in a classic Italian antique style and the views over the well manicured gardens, and the woods, mountains and lakes beyond were just stunning. Each day started with a substantial Italian style breakfast. The villa is literally a stride from the local shops, a selection of restaurants and the train that operates hourly between Rome and Viterbo. We hope to return in the summer and enjoy your garden and pool! Grazie tutti

- eve812 (10/5): An absolutely amazing place and the perfect holiday venue. - We stayed here from 6-13th August and I couldn't adequately describe how amazing it is. There isn't honestly anything negative that I can think of. Leonardo and Charlotte are really helpful and will welcome you with smiles. They never seemed to tire of answering my many queries beforehand. The eleven en-suite rooms are spotlessly clean, large, with lots of storage and the added bonus of air-conditioning. There is flexibility offered with twin beds/cot/double bed options in some rooms and three rooms are situated in an annexe apart from the main house - perfect for noisy guests! The villa is situated in a small town which has bars, pizzerias, a gelateria, and small shops. However it is within very easy reach of the coast (20 mins drive); Lake Bracciano - which also has various beaches and some excellent restaurants - and Rome - the train station is five. mins walk from the villa and takes you straight into Rome. Fuimicino Airport is around 1 hour by car and there are two very reliable taxis available. Catered meals are offered by the villa and we had a celebration birthday lunch which was outstanding and will be remembered forever. The only negative I can think of was that we had to leave!

- memotofile (10/5): Villa Clodia is a gem! - The villa is located is a small city which makes it easy to find and easy to tour the surrounding area. It has a wonderful old world charm with modern conveniences such as an elevator and parking on site. The breakfast buffet is extensive and you have the option to dine there for lunch and dinner. We only opted to eat dinner there and were happy we did so. Dinner was fantastic and the setting on the patio by the pool was memorable. It was a perfect stay and we look forward to returning again.

- Jerel (8/5): Nice Villa With Awesome Pool In OK Town - Nice old villa with excellent pool, deck and patio area with view to lake in the distance. Location in town was surprising as photos left me with the impression it was in a more rural setting. Private free parking inside gate to property included. Impressive Italian breakfast with a myriad of cakes, cornetti, etc, juice, cappuccino made to order etc. Room could use newer furniture and upgrading...pretty bland but clean. Mattress could be much better... especially in this age of rather inexpensive quality foam mattresses. Good size bathroom and water pressure with ample hot water. Ella Fitgerald playing in lounge off the reception area 24/7. All things considered, a good stay...but the town itself quite disappointing...couldn't find much more than a few pizzeria and bars.

Omgeving veel te zien aan bezienswaardigheden op uurtje rijden van Rome.

When I went to speak to the reception that night, I was told they would try to shut some hallway doors close to midnight but there wasn't much they could do. I also told the reception the shower water was cold and they were defensive and just said that it had nothing to do with the wedding but they would check. Cold water also was rough during shower time for the baby. Breakfast wasn't much to write home about, only pastries and juices. We were struck by the lack of service we received given we told them about these issues. Note we got one of the nicest rooms through hotel.com.

Villa Clodia is clearly much-loved by the owners; the attention to detail makes this a stand-out, along with impeccable furnishings, cleanliness and service. Wonderful breakfast and great coffee.

- b3freak (2/5): Stay away!!!!!!!!!don't book this hotel!!!!!! - our room had a water problem and they said they found us a nice hotel...that was the owner friend's house...terrible smell when we got in ...ouach!!!!and she was gonna do the breakfast for us....no way!!!! we went back at the hotel for some explanation.....they finally agreed to book us in another hotel that was supposed to be similar to theirs...it was a 2 star hotel and what a shame...we were exhausted and we stayed anyway...I had to convince my girlfriend,she wanted to sleep in the car...do I need to say more...avoid at all cost...cancel if you can and run away from this hotel
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good hotel, friendly staf, relaxed environment - We got a very warm welcome at vila clodia from all the staf. Breakfast was good with homemade cakes and other sweets, cheese, ham and fruits. We loved the cappuccino and sfogliatelle :) The hotel incl the rooms are well decorated with antique furniture. Manziana is a nice quiet town, not many tourists, friendly people, good atmosphere. Hotel is located close to train station so easy to reach Bracciano and also Rome by public transport. Aircon is a bit old and had a rough time with the warm weather but worked fine for us. Rooms are a bit noisy.
- jamescC5679LR (10/5): A Lovely Break - A big thank you to the staff and management at Villa Clodia for looking after us so well, and sorting out taxis for us, something we did not forsee would be difficult, but in retrospect this is in the middle of the Italian countryside. The rooms were comfortable, with everything one could need. The breakfast was slightly limited - some fresh fruit would be nice - and remember to pre order your cheese and ham. The management are charming, in a slightly old school/eccentric way. Once this is accepted you will fall in love with them. The location and pool are marvellous. The railway station is only a few hundred yards away with a direct link to Rome, about 1 hours journey away.
- Perry820 (10/5): Great Staff, nice hotel - Location, view and garden get topp grades, also the friendly staff. Tha kids loved the pool that was clean and had a deep end. Room was traditional, clean and included aircon. Breakfast was to sweet with the Itaian cakes and cookies.
- W1527IUlindad (8/5): Peacefull & picturesque - We wanted a rest in a lovely location and that's what we had. Beautiful views, staff were lovely and very helpful. Room was comfortable and clean but should have asked for a lake view as that would have been nicer. Breakfast was mostly sweet things , cheese, ham and some bread. Plenty of places to eat locally.
- Niclas (6/5): Romantiskt med förbättringspotential - Vi bodde 4 nätter på Villa Clodia i Junior Suiten. Rummet var stort och välstädat med fin utsikt från balkongen. Frukosten var som alltid i Italien väldigt tråkig och serverades inomhus fastän det står att den ska serveras på terrassen sommartid. Poolområdet är toppen. Tyvärr svårt att få tag på personal under dagtid om man till exempel ska beställa något att äta eller dricka. I och med att hotellet inte har en restaurang är utbudet dåligt och maten som serveras tråkig och dyr. Städningen var si och sådär, under fyra nätter byttes inga sängkläder. AC på rummet fanns men fungerade inte värst bra trots att man gjorde försök att laga den. 26 grader är för varmt att sova i. När man väl fått tag i personalen är de väldigt tillmötesgående och trevliga. De skulle kunna bli bättre på att informera sina gäster om saker som händer på hotellet, en kväll blev tex poolområdet avstängt från kl 18 pga ett event där hotellets gäster inte fick delta.
- SandraE625 (10/5): wonderful retreat in the Roman countryside - Vila Clodia is one of those places that makes for a perfect holiday. A lovely baroque styled villa with beautifully put together rooms takes you back to another era. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the pool is fabulous, overlooking the hills of the surrounding countryside. The village of Manziana is small but it feels like being part of the community to walk around there at night. Easy access by car to the lake and the lovely villages and castles closeby, as well as an easy outing to the old Etruscan graves make it also a very convenient location. We'd love to come back!

- Mucki (8/5): Sehr schönes Hotel in traumhafter Lage. - Das Einschecken ging sehr schnell. Zimmer hatte Klimaanlage und groß. Das Badezimmer war auch groß und hatte sogar ein Bidet. Wir haben im Hotwl Abends gegessen und waren sehr zufrieden.
- jeromen245 (10/5): Peace, enjoyment and all around excellence - This place is amazing. We have been spending some time in Rome and on a whim drove up. We found this place online and upon arrival were amazed. The staff and owners were so kind, the pool is inviting and overlooking lake Bracciano, with rolling hills and location in the center of town near a park for kids, restraunts and shops.

- Leanne (8/5): great hotel ! - We quite enjoyed our very brief stay at the Villa Clodia. I would love to return - use it as an excursion location from Rome. It is easy to reach from the train station. They have a lovely view of the lake and valley. The room was very quaint and well-stocked with things like extra toilet paper etc.
- 261silke2014 (8/5): Lovely Italian hotel - Great little place in the middle of Manziana: friendly and helpful staff, wonderful landscaped garden with pool, very nice room with plenty of storage space in huge wardrobe and several chests of drawers, car park (nicely landscaped!). The only two draw backs were for us as a family with a young child: (1) breakfast from 08:30am. When your little one gets up at 6:30/7am, it is a looong wait! (2) as the building is very old, the walls are thin and the doors are cardboard-like, and as there is no door between the staircase and foyer, it can get quite loud. Fortunately, most guests that stayed there when we did were very considerate!
- 929janeo (10/5): Wonderful - It was the wedding of our dreams! We received all the support you can think of! We were happy with all aspects: organization, layout, menu, professionalism, excellent quality / price ratio, and especially a lot of warmth, which is important! We felt at home with them, and I think that this was the secret ingredient that allowed us to live like a dream! We could not be luckier! I do not know how they did it, but they managed to give us a wedding as we could not even imagine! Perfect in everything! Impeccable!
- Paar (4/5): Service/ Hotelausstattung/ Pool - Da der Kaffee (nicht nur für uns) nicht genießbar war, fragten wir nach einem Espresso, da in dem Frühstücksraum ein Automat stand. Als wir einen Zweiten trinken wollten bekamen wir die Antwort, dass das nicht möglich wäre, da dieser zu teuer wäre. Auch andere Äußerungen von Seiten des Personals gefielen uns nicht (die Art und Weise wie etwas gesagt wurde). Terrasse und Pool waren super, ohne Frage, aber das Zimmer war dunkel und etwas stickig. Aus dem Bad kamen schlechte Gerüche (Toilette/ Bidet), die natürlich auch ins Schlafzimmer zogen. Das Hotel hebt sich etwas zu sehr hervor, ist aber vom Service nicht sonderlich zu empfehlen (Schade).
