- Verified traveler (8/5): Bien mais ... - Hotel agreable, positionnement top pour un sejour court. Manque d'équipement dans les chambres ( frigo / table de chevet) espece detente parfait pour les familles et enfants. Nous avons eu une chambre sur les toits avec qu'une tres petite fenetre et peu d'ouverture pas representatif de la photo de la reservation malheureusement. Le personnel est top et sympathique.
- SYLVIE (10/5): Très belle surprise. Bel hôtel et proprio au top - Super sejour dans cet hitel superbement bien décoré. Toutes les pièces sont belles, esprit chalet et cocooning. Spa, hamman, piscine, aire de jeux pour les petits, un grand parking, une belle terrasse et même une salle de ciné. Le personnel est agréable et professionnel. Le ptit dej est bien achalandé et les repas sont excellents. La carte est simple mais gage de fait maison.

- Les (10/5): Awesome stay, we will be back! - What an absolutely amazing week we had at this hotel. Run by a lovely family who were super nice and welcoming. The hotel was awesome, the location was perfect and the views of Mont Blanc over breakfast were breathtaking. This was a summer trip but it would be a perfect location to get to the Chamonix valley for skiing. Our room was great, breakfast was just what we needed and the tartefflete was out of this world. Great spa too, my partner and I had a couple of relaxing sessions in there. Book with confidence and enjoy your stay. If you love dogs, you'll also get your furball cuddles in.

- CHRISTOPHE (10/5): Belle étape pour visiter la région de Chamonix - Ce que nous avons le plus apprécié : la vue sur le massif du Mont Blanc depuis notre chambre, l'espace wellness, le buffet des petits-déjeuners très variés, la disponibilité de la personne qui nous a enregistrés le premier jour et nous a donné de nombreux renseignements et astuces pour faciliter notre séjour. Le seul point negatif était la chaleur dans la chambre la nuit même la fenetre ouverte et volets fermés, mais il est vrai qu'il a fait particulièrement chaud cette année

Upsides: excellent value for money, restaurant is very good, decoration is very nice, hotel is very well equiped (pool, sauna, hamman, playing room for kids, mini cinema, video games for kids while waiting for the meal), managers are very friendly and helpful, terrace has a great view on the mountains, breakfast is very good Downsides: hotel is very close to the highway so you can hear and smell it

- Tom (10/5): - We had a very welcoming and lovely stay at Hotel La Fontaine. The room was very clean, the towels nice and fluffy. The hotel has a nicely decorated bar and restaurant and provides lots of activities for the family including a lovely swimming pool. The hotel is not in a town and next to the main road to Charmonix. It provides a good base, if you have a car, for visiting the many resorts in the Alps. I would recommend staying at the hotel.
- JoaoCaiano (10/5): Family Hotel - Very nice place to stay for skiing in Megève, Chamonix, Contamines et Flaine. Very nice hotel run by Cristophe et Cristel. They really make your stay worth the money you pay. Make sure you stop at the bar run by Marion et Aurelien and have some tapas.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The hotel is about three miles from Les Houches and the only way to get there is by taxi. This seven minute ride was quite expensive. The hotel doesn’t serve dinner and there are no restaurants, or anything else, within walking distance. Breakfast was limited. I would not recommend this place.
- David (8/5): Decent hotel for the price. - Location is a little out of the town but as we were driving no problem at all, the access to the hotel is directly off the main road so this is a major bonus as the snow was really heavy and it was easy to get back to the road. The hotel service was very good the owners spoke some English and we managed to communicate well with our broken French, lots of easy parking and nice atmosphere in the hotel. I did not use the Wifi there so I can not comment on it. The main concern was the breakfast, it was very expensive and very basic. Even by French standards it was a basic breakfast, the second day we brought our own. The hotel needs to be improved in a few places but overall the value for money was good and it suited us for the time we were there.
- 100nights (6/5): In good condition, perfect for a layover or short ski break. - The rooms are large, nicely built, warm and clean. Comfortable bed and shower with lots of hot water. My top floor 3F room (no elevator access) had very good lighting and a splendid view up to the mountains. An easy chair would be nice, especially for longer staying guests. Breakfast (€9 supplement) was simple but adequate. The hotel is located down the valley from the ski resorts and does not have an evening restaurant, so everything is a drive. On balance fair value.
- johnlovestraveling88 (2/5): An unpleasant hotel - The room is bare bones: no ventilation except the windows which open towards the motorway that is right next to the hotel. No bed light or bed table if you have more than one bed. At 2pm when leaving the hotel, there was no way to open the outside door except to press something that looked like an emergency opening button. There is no restaurant, the staff isn’t even giving out a name for the nearest buy restaurant, they simply say “walk to Servoz, 1km” (I found a nice restaurant in Servoz, but it was further and confusing. Their internet service (paid) had problems connecting. Advice how to reach the GVA airport was ridiculous (there are shuttle companies that pick you up, they said “no you need a taxi”
- micheldP8558XX (4/5): Hotel forgot to leave my key at the desk so I was stuck outside my room. - I only had one issue with the hotel but it was a big one. When booking I told the hotel I was arriving late (1am). They said it was not a problem. Later I confirmed on the day. The hotel gave me a room number and said they would leave my key on the reception desk. When I arrived there was no key to be found. My room was locked. Hotel did not respond on the phone. The key dispensing machine at the entrance said it did not recognize my name or reservation. I spent quite some time trying to find my key or someone to help. Finally I found a doorcom system that woke someone who gave me my key. But it is very annoying to be stuck outside your room when you arrive late after a long trip. And stressful to think you might have to find another place to sleep at 1am. Besides that my stay went well.
- TonyStaples1969 (8/5): Good, clean and reasonable - No frills, location good but car/transport essential as not in town and can not walk. Nice pool, sauna & reasonably priced continental breakfast. Hotel owners do not speak English be aware of this. Clean, tidy & comfortable rooms no complaints all you need when skiing all day. Would return no problem.
- vincentbW6909YF (6/5): Value for money - Pretty good for the amount you pay and close to Chamonix. Breakfast is ok. I couldn't switch off the heating though. I couldn't find anyone that worked in the hotel that speaks English. Parking is free.
- makem_13 (2/5): DISGUSTING FILTHY - awful never have i ever stayed in as bad a place as this FILTHY DISGUSTING floors only seen in morning as were the big brown stains on two out of three duvets shower a joke toilet dirty no soap or anything in bath room dispenser empty looked like i had gone back to the sixtys i sincerly hope that no other person from the uk ever sets foot in there and if you do dont take shoes off or clothes cost was 102 euroes WHAT A RIPOFF and its on the side of the main road NOISY
- HolgerA_12 (2/5): Been ripped off on a reservation - Worst experience with a reservation ever. I am a reasonable reviewer and this must be my first and probably only complaint entry to any location I review: I reserved a room in this hotel per credit card for one night by phone, ten days in advance of our stay. The very next day following the reservation, so 9 days before the actual date, I called to cancel the reservation. I had reserved the room on the basis of reviews here but then could see it from the highway and realized that it was literally ON the highway. So when asking to cancel, the gentleman I spoke to remained vague but said something like 'OK' and that he was going to deal with my request. We did not use the room, i.e. did not spend the night we had reserved. Then the full charge had been booked on my credit card account so I called back the hotel. The lady whom I spoke to, who in the course of the rather difficult conversation revealed to be the owner, showed entirely unwilling to reimburse the charge. She offered a voucher for the one night at another time but we are not planning to come back. So I had a heated debate that ended in me not getting back my money. So beware with your reservations and only book when you are sure you will be going!
- MistralGrenoble2010 (6/5): Last minute booking - We booked La Fontaine on the spur of the moment. The price was economical, and the hotel is close to Chamonix. Our first impression was that it was a little difficult to find even though a sign is visible from the main highway. The exterior is a little kitschy but still homey. I speak basic French so I could communicate with the hostess; at first, she seemed stand offish, but she was friendlier by the time we checked out two days later. Room and bath were very clean and comfortable, but the furnishings are dated and the carpet is worn. The pool was very clean and well maintained. Showering before using the pool is mandatory--good policy. We didn't try the sauna. The self-service breakfast was basic but plentiful--eggs, bread, meats, yogurt, juice, and cereals. Noise from the highway is audible if the doors are open. Their website claims they have air conditioning, but no control or vents were visible; our room may not have been equipped, but it was okay as it was not needed. Small indoor games area and a fireplace are near the dining area. Not a bad place for the money, and I imagine that it is a great location for skiing in the winter.
