- Rozlin (8/5): Pleasant great stay will stay again - Relaxing good room sizes, not too far to walk to Echoland. Onsen is great, buffet breakfast with mix of Japanese and European food. First stop for free shuttle to Hakuba47 Iimori goryu Escalade ski resorts I would highly recommend a sneeze screen be put up for the buffet as during our stay this time so many sick people sneezing at the food was off putting when you want to enjoy it.
- Sophie (10/5): - I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The shuttle bus to the major ski resorts is very convenient, making it easy to get on the slopes. The staff were incredibly helpful—even before I arrived, they promptly answered all my questions via Booking.com.
Breakfast is a simple buffet, nothing fancy, but perfect for me as I’m not picky with food. I also rented ski gear from CS Snow Sport, and they kindly picked it up from the hotel after use, which was super convenient. I especially loved the public bath—such a relaxing way to unwind after skiing.
Echoland is a bit of a walk from the hotel, but it was manageable for me. Overall, I found this hotel to be great value, especially for solo travelers.
- Daniel (9/5): Excellent ski venue. - Hotel was very pleasant and convenient for skiing. Onsens were very relaxing and clean.
Outstanding Japaneese breakfast each morning. Nothing I can think of.
- Martin (8/5): - access to shuttle bus distance from shops and town centre

- Anna (8/5): Professional service with good facilities - This was our 4th time staying in Oak Forest over the last 10 years. We enjoyed the breakfast which now provides more options (buffet style) than in the past. Staff are always friendly and accommodating and have a good command of English (and some other languages too). It is was very easy to ship our ski gear in advance to be held in storage. The dry room is really comfortable with a good space allocation for each room. Bus access to major ski resorts is very convenient, especially since Oak Forest is one of the first stops when the bus is still empty. No complaints.
- Miranda (9/5): Top! Personeel is erg vriendelijk.

- Safiah (9/5): Excellent location and great services provided for the perfect ski trip. - Excellent location. The hotel has its own very bus stop which provides free bus shuttle to all the resorts in Hakuba. There was also free pick up and drop off services from Hakuba Bus terminal which was great. A free transportation was also provided for us to the ski hire shop. Basically no walking done! A ski locker is also provided for each room. The room was also quite spacious for 3 people and clean. We had breakfast there every night and there was not a lot of Muslim/vegetarian options available.
The bathroom is quite cramped but as expected in Japan.

- Gavin (8/5): - Staff member Keira was amazing! She was very, very helpful and made our stay easy and enjoyable. The onsen was fantastic!

- Kevin (9/5): Suited a group of 7 perfectly.the rooms with 4 beds is great - Onsite Onsen. Good breakfast included. Decent sized rooms Beds weren’t the best
- Rod (8/5): -
- Erdina (3/5): Location was ok and room was too small for party of five - Easy booking The room is too small, with tatami bed for 5 persons and the charges were too expensive
- Nurul Nabila (10/5): Cosy and Spacious rooms! Friendly staff. - The staff at the reception took extra initiative in helping us enjoy our stay in Hakuba! Would definitely recommend staying here. It was cosy and the rooms were spacious! Nothing i don't like!
- `Nikora (10/5): - Very friendly staff. Everything is clean, convenient location, good rooms, good breakfast, good onsen. Staff always had a willingness to help with anything you weren't sure about or if you needed anything. Would recommend to others.
- Claire (10/5): Highly recommend for first time visitors to the snow - The staff were very polite. We booked a twin room and it was very spacious. The breakfast was good and the shuttle bus picked us up out the front so no need to walk anywhere. Nothing, it was such a good experience!

- Dolly (7/5): Good value for money for those who prefer a hotel as opposed to self catering in an air bnb. - The Oak Forest had a great breakfast. The location of the hotel was a bit out of the centre of Echo Land, if you don't have a car you will need to walk 15 minutes in the snow to get to the restaurants. The rooms were very clean but the decor is dated. There is a shuttle bus stop at the hotel, but not every ski resort shuttle bus stops there. There is ski hire at the hotel but it wasn't open when I was there. Maybe too early in the season? No signage to explain why. Many of the staff spoke no English which made it tricky to ask questions. Rooms get made up every second day, not daily. The hotel has a bus which I never saw used. Apparently if you book it two days in advance it will pick you up from the bus stop but only at 4.00 or 5.00 pm. I think the hotel shuttle bus should do a run at least once a day into the bus station.
- Keiko (5/5): -
- Stewart (7/5): Fabulous place to go skiing, breakfast at the hotel was great, staff were super helpful and friendly. - Great location, in forest 15 minutes walk to the restaurants and bars of echoland, streets were lit at night. Ski lockers were warm so good for drying ski boots overnight. No hooks in room for wet ski gear so had to hang in wardrobe. Ski rental service in hotel was not open week we were there but they did organise a shuttle to collect us for free from a rental shop in echoland. (Spicy rental). Onsen was male only or female only, so no going for a swim with the family altogether (and you have to be in your ‘altogether’ as well, common in Japan!)
- Shawnee (10/5): - Lovely hotel - people on this app have said it is a bit dated but I would say this is in a charming way - everything is functional and clean and you can tell it has been well maintained. The japanese style room was spacious, comfortable and warm, the breakfast was amazing, and the onsen is so nice and relaxing - especially the outdoor one

- Kylie (7/5): Great location. - Location, top of the bus stop for the snow shuttle. Pick up or drop off to the train station for guests, not offered or only available at inconvenient times.
- Sarah (8/5): - The staff were very welcoming and helpful answering questions about ski rental and shuttle buses. The rooms were spacious and the breakfast was good with plenty of choice.
It was in a good spot to access the Hakuba 47 ski area with shuttle buses running at convenient times. The furniture was a little outdated and the brown bedding doesn't help with the look of the room but these are superficial and didn't affect our enjoyment or quality of our stay. We would definitely return.
- Hiroko Takashima (7/5):
- Panitnan (7/5): Good - Room size quite big compare with other hotel Location is too for from
Center but close to happo. No water in room
- Minori (8/5): -
- Takatoshi (5/5): -
- Harrison (7/5): Good -
- Rachel (10/5): Highly recommend - Great location with a bus stop right outside for all the ski fields. Buffet breakfast was great too with lots of vegetarian options
- Sau (8/5): Very good -
- Daniel (8/5): Great location good breakfast but in need of renovation. - Bathroom sink too small. Beds old. Great location but it's in need of renovation
- Chase (10/5): - It was close to Hakuba 47. The people were nice and very helpful.
- Todd (8/5): Very good -
- Leeor (10/5): - Nice and kind staff. Easy going. Clean. Nice breakfast. I am vegetarian and I was a bit limited but made do. A lot of fish/meat dishes. Skiing: easy free shuttles from the hotel and back. They have cheaper lift tickets for sale at the hotel. Had a nice home cooked meal nearby. The only issue is most of the laundry machines were out of service and the one available took 4 hours and the clothes were still damp. So I would only hope that they fix the laundry.
- Alvina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mayer (9/5): Superb -
- Mayer (9/5): Superb -
- Angelica (8/5): Very good - The rate is affordable and the location is convenient I wish they could have clean the bidet. You can still visibly see stains on it. It’s kinda gross.
- Mayer (9/5): Superb -
- Sau (7/5): Good -
- Diyanah (9/5): Convenient located, friendly staff. Would stay again! - The staff were accommodating and friendly. Location was excellent - shuttle bus stops in front of the hotel, 10 minute walk to restaurants. Lockers available to store gear and there’s also a nice onsen. We also enjoyed the breakfast spread! While we love the quaint, retro vibes, it could do with some modern updates i.e. plugs near bed to charge phones, less clunky hotel keys etc
- Jaturapat (10/5): Good value for money - The hotel was good location and there is free shuttle support for ski gondola the room is big and clean and the breakfast is great
- Ross (7/5): Good -
- Tul (8/5): Very good - Large room. Good Breakfast with menu changing everyday. Ski Wax within the hotel. Enough parking spots. At Onsen, there should be some protection for the snow falling from the roof, especially at the edge of onsen where people sit. The roof should be a bit longer.
- Kam Cheung (10/5): - Shuttle bus is provided for people would like to ski. onsen also great in there .
- Kam Cheung (10/5): - Breakfast is good and save many time if you would like to ski in hakuba
- Shahied (8/5): Excellent - Comfortable Nothing
- Patrajit (8/5): Very good -
- Michelle (2/5): Poor, disappointing - WiFi wouldn’t even work in the room- tried to log into my laptop and nothing would load.
Location is not great either.
Far too expensive for what it is.
- Chi (9/5): A convenient hotel for ski trip. - Good value for money. There are indoor and outdoor onsens. The breakfast is good. They change some of the food options everyday. Many parking spaces. Shuttle buses to ski resorts stop in front of the entrance. This year, it provided ski rental on-site. But this service was only available at weekdays. It was not mentioned when I asked and we did not make other ski rental reservation. Unluckily, we started our ski rental on Saturday and found out that it was not available on-site. We then needed to look for ski rental shops and lined up for more than an hour.
- Emma (7/5): Good -
- Maricel (7/5): Good -
- Rozlin (9/5): Very comfortable and value for money - The natural spring onsen, buffet breakfast, bbq dinner and room size Disappointed this time staying that there was no daily shuttle into town in the evening.
- Nick (9/5): Superb -
- Darleen (8/5): Would come back - Quiet little hotel with really good breakfast. Free shuttle from hotel to all the resorts and back. It’s a bit out of town, so if the roads are icy, it can be a bit tricky to walk home after a few beers ;)
- Michael (1/5): far too expensive. Old and dirty - Wifi not working properly, the whole facility is old, very old and dirty. Mold in the Onzen, broken glass, overcrowded.
Room cleaning only every other day, broken vending machine, broken washing machine, broken dryer, garbage left in the room, etc etc
Totally overpriced.
- Siyapas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Indiah (5/5): Passable -
- Kalani (7/5): Very comfortable, location was good, shuttle bus every day for ski resorts picked us up out front of hotel, disappointed - Location and shuttle bus service to ski resorts Washing machine and dryer didn’t work
- Kim (9/5): Superb -
- Tracy (9/5): Great! - Lovely onsen. Very nice hotel. Good storage lockers for skis, you get your own locker and key. Bus stop right outside the door. Good breakfast. Loved it! Nice spacious rooms, lots of wardrobe space. Nice to have a choice of pillows. Nice view. Staff very helpful. Beds were a bit hard, but still ok. Bathroom a bit small. 15 minutes walk into town. TV quite small. These are minor points, we really liked this hotel, and hope to come and stay again.
- Kevin (7/5): Basic and clean accommodation - Ski equipment rental in house.
Very clean Asked for additional tax payment at the end of stay.
Very minimal appliances in room, very basic living quarters.
- Natasha (8/5): Great view from the window, a good selection of restaurants down the road and a great onsen - The ONSEN
The bus right at the front door The breakfast was pretty average
- Scott (8/5): Comfortable/clean rooms, Good Breakfast, Great having an onsen at the Hotel. - breakfast was great. Good variety and was fresh.
Rooms were a good size for Japan, the beds were a good size and comfortable. They were clean. Onsen was good and well maintained. Staff were friendly and were helpful. The ski Drying room could have been better, no room for clothes. Shuttle to pick up/drop off was only available at 2 time slots.
- Mayer (10/5): Exceptional - Best property in Hakuba. Brilliant location, fantastic onsen, clean and comfortable room, delicious breakfast and top staff
- Sonya (7/5): We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Oak Forest. We used the facilities offered, the Onsen, the shuttle bus. - Breakfast was good. Many options. Everything was good
- Michael (9/5): Superb - Staff were great, rooms were comfortable and was decent value for money
- Sau (8/5): Very good -
- Lucy (8/5): Convenient for getting to ski slopes, clean and good breakfast. Getting the hotel challenging - Ski bus stops right outside which makes it really easy to get to the slopes.
Good breakfast - variety for both Asian and western options.
Clean and good sized room. Very difficult to get to if you arrive after 4pm as local buses go to night schedule and hotel only offer 2 pick ups/day. 30 minute walk uphill with our luggage in the snow was not ideal.
- Saw (9/5): Superb - Breakfast choice was excellent, the hotel served full of varieties of food for breakfast. Room is clean and spacious. The hotel is also the first bus stop to several ski resorts such as Hakuba47, Iimori, Iwatake, etc.
- Jeremias (8/5): Very good - the room we booked was the traditional Japanese style and it was very spacious ! the hotel staff were so lovely and helped us with any issues we had (even what to do with buying the wrong JR tickets)! there were also free shuttle buses starting at the hotel almost every hour or so, so it was convenient for heading to the ski slopes ! (it was also the first stop for the shuttle bus so we’d always get a seat ! ) the hotel is a little bit out of the way of the main areas so if you’re wanting to get back after a night out, taxis are very hard to order (there are no buses or shuttles to take you back)
