Please provide new towels the current ones are awful. - Location was great with beach views right outside our room and plenty of cafes and restaurants. Our room faced the pool which was really nice. It’s not clean. Stayed 2 nights with no replacement towels, toilet paper not topped up, no bottled water or kettle. Room wasn’t cleaned during our stay.

• Magdalena (5/5): If you find a decent room, the rest is fine for this price - Overall, the entire area is pleasant. The architecture of the buildings and garden is pleasant. The pool is good. There is a pleasant relaxation area with a sea view, but only six sun loungers. The water recedes in the evenings and there are small beaches. The location is good. There are shops, a pharmacy, and restaurants. The room was quiet, without any annoying street noise. The bedding did not smell damp. The seats on the terrace are comfortable and pleasant. Daily housekeeping. Apart from the very old dirt in the bathroom, it was generally clean. Helpful, friendly staff. The biggest problem is the bathrooms. HORRIBLE! I had to change rooms because the sink smelled terribly. It smelled like something was rotting in the pipe. Terrible. And there was mold. The new room smelled good, but there was a water leak on the wall, so limescale had been building up there for years! It looked awful and was constantly wet. There was also old soap scum and mold everywhere. It was a very old mess. No one had cleaned the place properly in years. The towels were very old. NO WIFI in room. Wifi is only available in the reception area, so the further you go down the room, the worse it gets. My room only had wifi on the terrace, and it was very weak and intermittent. There was no kettle or fridge in the room, so the amenities were very poor.

• Anonymous (2/5): We had a great time despite the issues with the rooms, we didn't let it spoil our holiday. - Location was fantastic and the gardens were pretty. Loved hearing the waves crashing from my room. Bed was comfy. The room was so tired and run down. Furniture was broken and water damaged. Bathroom was not clean, limescale build up and stained/mouldy tiles. No shampoo/conditioner or hair dryer, no toilet paper - we had to go and buy it as we couldn't locate staff. Towels were old and small, grey and well worn, no pool towels, hand towels or bath mat. Bedroom walls were water damaged and paint peeling. Pool had algae I'm the bottom so we didn't swim there. No safe in the room. The lights made a fizzing noise when you switched them on which was a little concerning. Was not able to change rooms.

• Philip (8/5): A very pleasant stay in a beautiful garden setting . - A relaxing sojourn at a lovely hotel set in a beautiful tropical garden . Close to all the facilities I needed for my stay & I enjoyed the great breakfast 🍳 in the mornings. Staff are friendly and accomodating and the pool is a big plus. WIFI not so good but if I needed to do any further bookings I just went to reception & used their wifi.

Great place to do an easy day trip/scooter ride up to Smedcbeach for fantast - A beautiful bungalow, very suitable at a great price for solo or budget travellers or families. Lovely pool, right on the ocean to watch jaw-dropping sunsets. The staff and manager keep the place spotlessly clean, too!! No dislikes

Excellent shower and hot water cold air con.Ask for newer rooms.1 to 9. Water front 1b 2b 5b to 8b No fridge but they got us one after 2 days. Stayed a week but too long 3 days is ample unless you just want peace and quite and do nothing! Beautiful clean water out front with logoon.

• Nicholas (5/5): Passable - Great hotel with friendly helpful staff. Normally if I pay for a room that’s advertised with air conditioning I’d expect that, particularly in a tropical location. Luckily the weather wasn’t too hot or humid but it could’ve made for a pretty uncomfortable stay.

• Christine (9/5): Peaceful setting amongst lovely garden with ocean views and lovely pool in the centre of town. - Blessed to have stayed when it wasn't busy, so I felt like I was staying in my own private villa with a good size pool as my room was directly adjacent to it. My room also had lovely sea views and set amongst a lovely garden which was worth paying a little more than the other rooms but still incredibly cheap. There is direct access to the beach via a hidden gate so be sure to look for it. My room was big with a refrigerator and TV - limited channels only. The quality of room was typical of a tired Balinese type but I didn't mind the old look and style. The location was great, in the centre of town. Although breakfast is not included there are plenty of options close by but be sure to go to the cafe directly across the road for a real nice feed. I liked it mostly except for a bit of noise that I think came from the refrigerator once in a while which isn't ideal when sleeping but I did get used to it. Be sure to have insect repellent for the odd mosquito that sneaks in.

I would like to share my experience in Dewa Barata Candidasa, me and my husband booked same hotel as last time since we’ve happy with location. I like to share one good things we had experience compared to last visit on arrival team members recognized us and warm welcoming and also staffs very friendly as always. Since we’ve working hospitality we do understand staff roll and management roll , Our arrival day we spoke to the service team our last visit also toilet not really clean and also not getting fresh water for shower sadly to hear that from staff they have informed management who’s base in Denpasar they need to get new water pump,unfortunately management keep asking to repair and manage it ! We really worried how we can stay two weeks however we have decided to be quiet and use 5 LTR water empty bottles to collect water . it's frustrating when management doesn't seem to be listening to the guests' concerns and there hasn't been any improvement since our last visit. It's crucial for management to address these issues and make the necessary improvements to ensure a better experience for all guests.

Pool green, room was mouldy, air-conditioning not cold no hot water or pressure, no lights in stairwell I fell at night. Pool toilet very disgusting. It appears that now the hotel is a long term stay for local people.

• Frank (8/5): Room with a view - I had a quiet room to the back of the hotel, away from the busy road, with an awesome view of the ocean and nearby islands. Falling asleep to the sound of crashing waves was great therapy and the perfect way to end a day of sightseeing. Aircon was quiet and working well. Bed was big and comfortable. Water pressure was almost a trickle and took forever to warm up. Not that I needed hot water, but a warm shower in the morning is nice.

This hotel is half the price of neighbouring hotels, and has a wonderful ocean view from the room that most hotels in Candidasa don't offer . The staff were very friendly and kind. There was free parking at the hotel, so I could drive straight in,. Thanks very much for a relaxing and comfortable stay.

• L. (7/5): Beautiful setting needs some attention to detail. - Location is right on the beach and setting is great. Close to convenience stores, restaurants and over looking the lavastone beach. Peaceful comfortable if you get the right room best to get a room on the upper floor so you don't hear the guests above moving around. Good value for money and the staff are friendly and responsive . Pool is small but nice. Architecture is traditional Balinese which is much better than the modern concrete monstrosities being built these days. Rooms are big and comfy. Clean bedding Bit annoyed as they tried to put me in a ceiling fan twin room when I'd booked a double air-conditioned room with sea view which I got. Bathrooms need a good pressure wash and walls need a good paint. Had to ask for a kettle cup and cutlery as I don't drink from plastic cups. Restaurant is closed but it's not an issue as there are many restaurants right next door.

The staff are very nice people, and we really appreciate all their kindness! Dewa Bharata is an exceptional place for the purest relaxation in Bali!

• Alex (9/5): Very attractive and great value - Location is great for a leisure holiday. If you want something active there are many scuba schools, one next door to this hotel. The views are outstanding across the Lombok Strait. It is picture perfect. The hotel is much more attractive than in the photos on Booking.com. The traffic on the main road. But that is not a hotel problem.
• Alex (10/5): A very attractive hotel, with outstanding views, at a great price. - This place has been very nicely renovated. It looks far better than in the photos on Booking.com. The garden is really beautiful and maintained all day, every day. The pool is a good, deep one, with a section for children. The views are really spectacular looking along the whole coast and across to Nusa Lembongan island. There are good restaurants within 2 minutes walk, and there is a breakfast one across the road. The front entrance is attractive and the staff are all calm and friendly. Highly recommended especially at the low price. The only thing is the road through Candidasa, which is not under the control of the hotels which all front it.

I booked a room with balcony and a view, but when I arrived to reception, the guy there didn't know about my booking, even after showing him my reservation in my booking app, he kind of didn't believe me or something. Until I saw a piece of paper and luckily I saw my name there, then I pointed out to him and he finally believed me 🤣. Then he took me to 'my room' and it was so disgusting, the bathroom was full of dirt and spider webs, like they had not cleaned it in months....obviosly I told him, then he took me to another room. But it hadn't balcony or view at all! But aparently it was the only room left... So at the end I paid for a service I didn't have 👌.

• Anna (8/5): Very good - The setting was amazing, right above the waves! The staff friendly, and the place is well looked after and the garden is immaculately kept! Some of the young visitors talked outside their rooms during the night and into the morning hours. The water booster pump was noisy during the night.

The good things was just hot water and tv the rest was no ac and the cleanliness was so disappointed. Once checked in the room I saw 2 cockroaches run under the bed and bathroom even ate my meals.
